This place is rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate, shows no compassion or human decency when trying to bury a loved one. They find it funny and laugh, legit laugh while on the phone with the customer that has had nothing with bad luck since walking in there doors. Like who laughs and a person thats grieving?? They dont know how to properly communicate an take days and I mean days to email you things you need. If you can pick a different funeral home, then go there cause this business does not deserve your money!

Langeland Family Funeral Home earns five stars! Unfortunately about a month and a half ago, my baby boy was stillborn at 6 months pregnant. Langeland made it possible for me to have a beautiful service for my son, Roman, and were helpful in every way and went above and beyond what their services include to provide me and my family sympathy and condolences. Katie, if you see this- you’re great. Thank you for adoring my son with me and for walking with my family through a horrible time. Me, Roman’s father and whole family are very thankful for Langeland.

I am writing to express my gratitude to Jeremy for being so helpful during the cremation process of my father. He researched urns and worked with the VA to get benefits that were due to my father as a veteran. He always followed up on every part of the process in a timely manner.Thank you for all your help during this time.

I purchased an arrangement a week ago for my Uncle’s funeral today through a florist that the funeral home uses. I ordered the “best” arrangement. Horrible!! I am grateful that I asked my cousin to take a picture of the arrangement. It was supposed to be a large arrangement in a purple vase. I live in California where everything is expensive. I would have to say these flowers were more than twice the price of what I would purchase in California. 🤬 My family and myself were completely disgusted with what was sent. Buyer beware!! Shame on you!! I would have never expected this from people in the Midwest. Most are good people and honest. I have posted the picture on FB. I want everyone to know!! Do not use their florist!! Poor quality and small arrangements. Lesson learned!

My sister just passed and they were never kind and worked with her children on understanding everything that is going on and what to except. When my husband passed in October I was at another funeral home and had a horrible experience so please if you want kind caring people to look out for you and your loved ones this place is it . Thank you to the whole staff for caring about people not just the money.

I am posting a note to express our appreciation for the kindness of Shelby Herendeen. She walked my wife Linda (Sportel) VanderBilt through the details of planning a respectful and honorable visitation along with a service conducted at the 9th Street Chapel. She followed up with phone calls of concern for the family and offers to continue to serve Louse Sportels family with future needs. Thanks Shelby - Linda (John) VanderBilt and Marcia (Robert) Duffin

We have enjoyed great support from the the staff at Langeland. Dann Klaassen worked with us every step of the way and took care off the details you don’t think of during these challenging times.Dana Neuman has been and continues to be a very strong source of grief support for us following our loss. Both have treated us more like family than clients all along the way. I strongly recommend Langeland and their staff to help navigate these difficult times.Chris Hanson

I did my research, stuck to my list, spoke to them on the phone prior to my appointment, and did not get high pressure sales pitch. I walked out feeling good about my choices as well as cost.

The sales pitch was a bit much. Their average price is somewhere between 7 to 10 grand. If you pick out something lower you are made to feel less than human. I had to make arrangements for an elderly uncle in a nursing home. He wanted something very simple. When I picked out something along the lines of what he wanted I was told I would have to furnish the guest book myself. I would also have to contact the VFW myself and arrange for a flag. When the uncle finally died there was no estate or no money. Somehow Langelands got a hold of the body and held it for random, demanding I pay them $10,000. When I refused Langelands told me they would cremate the body and sell the ashes to a fertilizer company. I told them to go ahead. That every time I saw a rose garden I would remember my deceased uncle fondly. Langelands hung up and that was the last I ever heard from them. As for my uncle the remains could have been sold to a fertilizer company. I wouldnt put anything past Langelands and their unorthodox sales practices.

Sales pitch to upsell at every turn, everything costs a fortune compared to other places, our bad for not taking the timr to compare during our time of grief. Shop around for pricing and do your homework, you dont need to pay any funeral home for many of the thing you can do yourself, especially for creamations!

High prices, high pressure. After the embalming the bodies either come out green or blue. Take your pick.
