Didnt even really get a chance to go.This review is more about trying to find this place. GPS took me to a parking lot in joplin where there are no signs of this place even being here. I drove around the parking lot. Looked at the signs posted for the businesses in the the building on the lot and nothing. So you must really have to know where your going to find this place.

Chandler was awesome! She was patient with me and had a wonderful personality.The salon was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend The Brush and Blade.

Ive been coming here for years, had a few stylists thatve moved on, but Ive been with Eugenia Swingle (@stylisteugeniaswingle) for a good minute now and shes great:) I can also vouch for DeeDee..both are great conversationalists and great with hair...cool environment/aesthetic, and reasonably priced!

I used to always enjoy going here monthly, consistently giving these barbers my business. I was always satisfied with the conversations where we could discuss similar passions, so I was more than happy tipping 30 - 40% each session.That has however changed. I am unable to get a haircut here now, despite numerous attempts to setup an appointment. I can only try so hard to give someone my business, so there is either an odd prejudice formed against me that I would not understand or this organization puts very little effort into retaining their clientele/appreciating a good customer. When I call to setup an appointment for a barber, I am told to contact the barbers cell phone. When doing so I am left ignored, or a week may go by saying they have had phone issues, then Im ignored again. Ultimately I cannot get a response or have success setting up an appointment via a phone. To remediate this I just went into the building in hopes I could set something up that way. The only stylist working was busy, so she told me she would message the group chat for someone to reach out to me to have something setup. Nobody reached out to me from this method either. It seems you must be part of a special clique in order to get in here, regardless of my positive experiences from the past.

I couldnt tell how bad it was until I got in better lighting. $19 + 20% tip for a bad haircut. I just hope the back is okay.

Only been here a few times over the last few years but plan to make it my barber shop because theyre always nice and good at their job

My family got me a hot towel and shave and it was a wonderful experience. The shop was clean and well decorated. The barber was a joy to engage with and the experience was very relaxing. If youve never had a hot towel and shave it is so worth it.

Tamara always does an excellent job and the place has a great atmosphere. It probably depends on who you go to since they treat their stylists as independent contractors now, but Ive never had a bad experience personally.

Great service and great haircut. The people were nice and the atmosphere was really comfortable. The haircuts can be pricey, but you definitely get a haircut that is worth that price. If you care about your hair, Brush & Blade is the place to be.

I don’t usually do this, but I got the best haircut of my life last Friday from Mandy. I had been going to lion’s den since the six grade and decided to switch it up and went through a few barbers before I got to Mandy. Five stars. Highly recommend her.

Excellent service! ETA: 2 years later -- Quality varies depending on who you get as a stylist. Appointments cancelled with little notice. Good stylists leave to start their own shops or join friends.

Had a nice atmosphere, but they gave me the worst haircut in my life and then had the gall to automatically add a 5 dollar tip without telling me. Thankfully, the lady at the desk resolved the issue when I took a second look at the receipt and called about it. This place used to be nice but has now gone to the dumps.

Cesily and Brittany did my highlights, they tag teamed and they turned out fabulous! Cesily also cut my sons hair and did a fantastic job. Great, original location and atmosphere. We will be back.

This place is usually great but went in yesterday for my boyfriend and his beard was different lengths on each side. It looks patchy and like he cant grow hair in some parts. He has to shave it off now because of this. Very disappointed.

Salon operators are good, but make their own hours. Walking in to get service with out appointment may not work

I am very picky about who and how my hair is cut. The ladies at Brush and Blade are great. I love going and my hair is always looking great when i leave.

Not good at all. Going off my first and last experience in every possible area I could rate any hair salon, sadly not good at all. I had called in advance and set my appt at a specific time before my trip and was exact about what type of appt and what I was needing done so this wasnt due to understaffing or overbooking. When I got there I was told by the hairstylist whom I waited for 10 after my appt which I was ok but they were not busy. After our consult, I was then told I could either have my hair shampooed or styled not both. I was told because of how the person set the appt and it was her last of the day which in turn left me a little speechless since I had booked this appt with ample notice for a specific event. Also, as I was getting my hair done it seemed most stylists had no clients and sat watching a mess of unsweeped pile of hair for about 45 minutes. It was just very unprofessional and I sadly paid full price and tipped for a hairstyle that I was very unsatisfied with because I didnt push for a refund nor told them how unprofessional the stylist had been which I wish I would have now. I cant be the only one with an experience like this, I am confident I am not.

I will probably change services. They have broken out and itemized the cost of a mens haircut to now charge separately for a barber to finish a mens haircut by shaving the back of the head hairline. Going back to the traditional mens barber shop. A bench with newspapers while you wait, a shop with three or four chairs & guys that give you a completed haircut.

An absolute must for a great modern mens haircut.

Was expensive and I didnt get that good of a haircut. They trimmed my beard and it was not even and had a gouge out if it. It was not a barber that gave me a haircut and it was really slow.

Probably my new favorite barber. Too bad they arent closer to home, but if I need a cut while visiting family Ill definitely stop in.
