Great place with a warm and cozy feel. Its always clean and very organized. The receptionist is friendly and the barbers are great. They offer complimentary drinks while you wait and have great products on display for purchase.

I used to go to Great Clips. I decided to give C.S McCulloughs a try, and I will never go anywhere else. I schedule with the same barber who cuts my hair the same every time. They put a warm towel around your neck and offer you a drink. The place is pure class. The environment of the shop is professional and calming. The barber cuts my hair with a straight edge and styles it before I leave. Each haircut is 45 minutes! Its worth every penny.

Customer experience is NOT a priority here.I got a same-day cancellation by text (3 hours before my apt time) for a double appointment I had.Double because I was taking my father to get a straight razor shave as a Fathers Day treat, which he drove 2 hours for.Im rarely this disappointed in a local business, but I cannot in good faith recommend this establishment.Go elsewhere.

I went in with super-dork hair kinda like Ted Koppel from the 80s news and come out looking smooth and cool.

I had a scheduled appointment. The Shop canceled my appointment a couple of hours before the time and I was not happy. I left a review here to which the owner called me to talk directly about what happened; the lack of communication was the issue. I really appreciated that call from him and says a lot that he took the time to reach out, keeping me as a customer.

Nichol cut my hair! I had never had my hair in layers before, and I picked Nichol for the job. She did not disappoint!! I am absolutely in love with my hair because of her. She is so nice and asks in detail what exactly you want. The whole staff seems nice, too! I will definitely be back.

Great experience. The environment, decor, and ambience all make for an authentic barbershop feel. And seriously, whats better than enjoying a cold beer or finger of whiskey while getting an old school straight razor shave?

The guy that cut my hair was extremely nice and I feel bad for writing this but for real, this is the worst hair cut Ive ever had. I asked for a fade from bottom to top leaving the hair at the top long. Instead got 2 different from mid to bottom with a very noticeable line, zero blending. Really frustrating spending quite a bit on a hair cut and getting something so far from what you were expecting.

I always walk out of C.S.McCulloughs feeling great about the way my hair looks. The barbers are friendly and well-trained, and the vibe in the shop is unmatched in Johnson City.I love that I can book cuts online, and the shop is convenient and welcoming. If you havent had a cut at C.S. McCulloughs, youve gotta give it a shot!

This is where to go if you want a great haircut. Nice things, it’s expensive, good environment. The only downside is they are a bit haughty, but that is to be expected in nicer places... I guess? I make an appointment every few months. I’ve had 5 or 6 cuts here. My son is getting his cut here next week. ( first haircut )

The first time I went there I knew on the first cut my hair was going to be the shortest it has been in years which scared me. To my surprise it was great! All my friends liked it too. No matter who cuts my hair they do a great job. It cost more than the $8-$10 hair cut but well worth the extras. Also love the fact that staff genuinely care about me and wants to know what is going on in my life and expects updates.

Great place to get a cut with a strong focus on the customer experience. It has a great ambience and offers many unique, personalizing elements that make getting a haircut a more interesting experience. Beer fans can enjoy a cool draft while getting a cut, and whiskey fans can keep their own bottle on the shelf to enjoy during visits.

This barbershop is full of very talented people who are excellent at their jobs. They are given time each cut to make sure that they are happy with their work, and most importantly you are happy too.Staff will offer you a beverage as soon as you walk in. This place is very appointment oriented so I wouldnt recommend walking in, unless you just get lucky. The price is $25 for a standard haircut, but this isnt a Great Clips. These people are outstanding at what they do and it is very easy to get the same person to cut your hair here. I really couldnt see myself getting my haircut anywhere else. Just schedule an appointment online and they will take care of you. 👍

The barber/stylist (a young female) was very good at cutting hair. There were no price menus, so the price for my haircut came with a little sticker shock. A regular mens haircut cost me $25.00 (plus the tip). The same haircut at another facility was $8.00. They did get me in on time, based on my appointment. No paper receipts available. Facility was clean. Nothing bad about the in-store experience other than the cost of the haircut.

It was my second time going here for a haircut and beard trim. The staff were great and getting a water/soda/beer right as you walk in is nice. Hannah did a great job on my cut and trim and kept me entertained with some storytelling. Ill definitely be back.

Ive seen cavemen walk out looking real polished here. Im of mixed ethnicity with longish, curly unruly hair. I thought Id give this place a go and support a somewhat local business. I think the knowledge of the staff in cutting curly hair is limited. It didnt turn out so hot but i contacted the barber who arranged a quick fix up. Curly hair is typically forgiving but when its straightenend my hair is embarrassing to me. I think this place is totally worth it if youre male/female/ other with thin, straight hair. The atmosphere and the playlist is nice. Not for me though. Still in search of someone who can cut my kind of hair.

Worst haircut of my last year was at a barber shop near a military base. Having come to Cody at C.S. for over a year I immediate booked a slot here though its six hours away and he fixed it. Ive never had a bad haircut here, never been disappointed in the service or friendliness or the absolute best barber Ive ever had. No matter what youre looking for in a hair cut they have handled it, and he specifically will not ever have me leave feeling less than happy about my haircut. 12/10 would recommend.

My husband started going here almost 2 and a half years ago and hes been a fan ever since. When his regular guy left, he started going to Bird and hes never come home with a bad cut. When I learned she does all gender cuts, I started going to her as well. Shes the best around. She listens to your questions and concerns and shes always inclusive, making sure the hair is the way I want it. We love C.S. McCulloughs and Bird. Shoutout to Angela just because her chair is beside Bird, and shes always the most cool and beautiful too. The music is always awesome as well.

My husband loves going here and I don’t mind coming along because it’s so well appointed and comfortable. Love the little shop inside and the convenient location. Only 4 stars instead of a perfect 5 because no matter who he chooses, they always end up cutting his hair too short.

Man I love this place! The only barber shop around that I know you can enjoy a cold beer, have a good conversation with your barber, and just enjoy all the awesome sights in the shop! I will totally return every time my hair is due to be cut! I love it! They also have all sorts of hair products and so on to choose from right there in the shop! If you havent been, go! Reasonably priced for the quality and the first thing they offer you when you sit in the chair is a beverage of your choice. Go see Bird! They’re fantastic with both male and female cuts and they always listen to what I’m aiming for. They don’t mind to cut again if I request lengths shorter than what has already been cut. I’ve been coming to Bird for 3 years, and I plan on coming for many more!

Absolutely love coming here. The scheduled appointments and ease of online booking is very convenient. Huge plus that the appointment times are actually kept. Other places my 1:00 PM appointments would have me getting in the chair at 2:15 PM all too often. Angela is wonderful. Always professional and does an excellent job.

Jeremy, the Master Barber, shaved my head and it was the smoothest shave Ive ever had at any shop. A shop like this in any bigger city would cost twice as much. Online appointment booking and complimentary beer make the whole experience excellent. Highly recommend.

A really neat barbershop. I took a chance as a traveler through town to walk-in for a beard trim and was lucky to find someone available with enough time between appointments. Dont take your chances. If you can book an appointment, do so.

One of the worst hair cuts Ive ever had, I had to go to another stylist elsewhere to have it fixed. She didnt listen to what I asked for at all and just seemed to be in a rush, even used clippers to texturize moderately long hair. Who cares about the nice atmosphere if the cuts are terrible.

Ron gave me a killer haircut. As soon as I walk in they offered me a beer, I sat down on the big leather couch. I sat down in Rons chair exactly when my appointment was supposed to start which never EVER happens at some other shops around JC. He took his time, gave me exactly what I wanted. This is my new place for sure. Online booking, great cuts, a cool vibe and free beer. What else do you want? If you dont like this place there are plenty of SuperMasterCutClips around that will shove you in a chair butcher your hair and charge you 10 bucks

Whew. Where to start with these guys? First off they are only cosmetologists. NOT Barbers. They are bad, unprofessional and expensive. They call themselves an old school/traditional barber shop but they are no where near. Part of the tradition is to keep the price low so the community has a reliable and trustworthy barber. $20 for a mens haircut is insane. Hopefully this shop wont stay open long. Scammers.

I wouldnt let theses tools cut my hair if they paid me to way way way over priced and expecting appointments and using a ps way too gentrified for downtown johnsoncity wanting over 50 bucks for a haircut and beard trim that takes 15mins tops seriously get real.....

Highly disappointed that they called me last minute and cancelled my appointment and made no effort to reschedule me today. 2nd time this has happened.
