IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS, PLEASE READ.Lucille Roberts staff, please read point one.Gym members, please read point two.1: I would really like to work here. I have been contacting for literally years and they always said there were no positions available. The workers there did not even seem to like their job. It says your gym is open now although to my knowledge its permanently closed.2: Google says the gym is open but to my knowledge, its permanently closed. There was an issue with money or something. Someone bought the gym to make it a co-ed gym, but they too had money issues due to COVID, so either way, gym is closed and as of now, the likelihood of it becoming a new womens gym is extremely low, but Im hoping it makes a comeback or something too because I wanted to work there, work out there, and improve it from the inside since so many workers seem to not like their job.

I have been going to this gym on and off for over 10 years. Employees are hospitable and the enviroment is always clean and organized. Josephine is always doing her best to make sure of this as well as helping clients when needed.

I just moved to the area about a month ago and joined this gym because its close to me and reasonably priced. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Its a smaller space but they use the space wisely and there is a nice open area for classes. Glad I joined!

I’m extremely disappointed with their customer service. I and my mother got enrolled for trial membership for 2$/10 days. In the meantime, they charged me for full months membership charge for 25$ which they said was refundable upon cancellation. Unfortunately after five calls after cancelling the membership on time they haven’t refunded our money. The representative keeps assuring that manager will call me back with an update but I haven’t got one and now it’s more than a month since I canceled.

Worst gym ever. Equipments is not proper. They say the annual membership fee is 70$ and the money will be refunded back if it is informed 45 days prior. But now they show the statement saying that we need to pay extra 10$ to cancel our membership. And they charge additional 15$ if they couldnt deduct amount from your credit card. This wasnt informed initially when people sign up the membership. They should clearly mention everything before they deduct amount from customers account.

AVOID. Charges card without permission.The reviews are very true. This place is a scam the manager/ aka sales people are liars. I was told I could try for $8 for a week and then decide. I told them I will not be joining as I was moving abroad. After much questioning and confirming while signing up I was told I will not be charged yet they are charging my card. No business ethics. Avoid them.

WORST GYM EVER!!!!!!so a month back, me and my friend joined this gym and we did got the enrolling procedure done over a phone call, mind you they didn’t inform us about the annual fee and one day all of a sudden just deduct from my and my friends account and then another day they just deduct $15 from our accounts for nothing, when we called them they said that they can only give store credit, like are you kidding me ?Even the manager does not help. Lack of communication skills as well as giving their customers lack of information about the feesNever go to this gym, ITS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I go to the one in jersey city height and I LOVE❤️It .from the moment you walk in, the girls in the front desk greet you .all are very sweet and helpful. All the teachers are awesome. My favorite class is Anas she is so good 😊 Im super happy I join and I made new friends.

Worst gym ever! Charge money without any intimation once you provide your credit card number. My membership amount was increased without any further notice. When I requested for cancelation, I was told that account will be put in hold for me to think over and I wouldnt be charged anything and they again went ahead and charged some hold fees and now on questioning ask me to come again in person to cancel, when I had already done the process. Please do no go here and provide your credit card numbers. It will be mis-used.

Disgusting unsanitary and rude staff especially the manager. They lie to you and say to can cancel when ever without any issues but that’s a lie they say it take 45 days to process basically just stealing another month from you and there’s a 10 dollar fee to cancel even though that’s not much but it’s the lies that matter. I would have liked to have simply been told that instead of being lied too. Also they don’t clean a thing always stinks and it is not tile or hardwood floor it is a nasty rug they clearly don’t clean. Please save yourself 30 something dollars and go somewhere else that’s clean and actually has equipment. If I could give zero stars I would.

One of the worst services and worst representatives, who never know how to speak with customers. Be aware of them.I have attended the gym in September but was not available for October month as I have to travel to some other place. At the time of joining the gym, I have been told that there will be no freezing charges, but when I called in October they told me that I will be charged for freezing. So, I decided to cancel my membership as I will be traveling till March 2019 and I asked your staff to please cancel the membership. they told me that i have to be there for the cancellation of membership, but i was not available in the city, so, i requested them to please dont deduct the amount and i will come to your place for cancellation of the membership, whenever I will be there. i had all this discussion over the phone. But there was a deduction of 75 Dollars in October month. I gave a call for the same and asked for October months refund, not the whole amount but a partial amount was committed to giving me the credit back. after all this, I got a deduction from my card of 19 dollars as freezing charge for November month, when I have already told that I will not continue the gym. I came to your place for the same, but that time staff told me that as our manager is not here so we are not sure for the credit process. I have been contacting and calling at your gym again and again, but not getting any response. In my last call, I have been confirmed that now membership has been canceled. STILL NO ANSWERS on EMAIL and no MONEY RETURN.

Everything is nice except for one thing ( thats why 4 stars) there monthly payment system is tricky.... monthly charges automatically deduct from the card....you should unsubscribe at least one month before, like if you unsubscribe on 10th of a particular month, then that months charge is already deducted on first of that month, you will also be charged for next month, then the deduction will stop. How one can be sure whether she will be attending next month or not 🤐. As in my case I got pregnant and had to leave...lol.

I’m giving 1 star for the Zumba classesI joined the gym on dec 2018 and my one year membership is ending on nov 2019 until then I paid my annual fee of 70$ (For one year )and monthly charge of 21$ I said I do not want to renew my membership.They said that you wil be charged a cancellation fee of 10.66$. I told them I’m not canceling in between my term I just don’t want to renew.The Manager was very rude and send me a copy of agreement which I just signed and no one showed me the agreement.I just signed in the online pad.It is like if you don’t want to continue pay 10.66$.I don’t feel this is right.The person who signed in me was a different person she never told me even after your 1yr completion you need to pay cancellation fee. I just paid it and got rid of it since I Don’t want to argue.they are very rude since there is only this one gym for women’s on central avenue(jersey city heights)

Former member. Classes are always packed, small space, lack of essential machine like a supported pull up and smith. Since there aren’t guys at the gym, it doesn’t smell super bad like Blink and there isn’t a wait to use the machines. On the other hand, lacks a lot of essential ones. Plus the hours are bad. They close at 9pm most days during the week, 8pm on Friday!!! Who does that???! Even earlier on the weekend when most people are available to work out! It is just sad! Join at your own risk.

Most of the machine are not working properly, the lie to you about the price they charge you, I have proof of that..also they claim they cant process your card and hit u with extra fees,this month they charge me $101.00 refuse to credit back my acct.....hello I dont need credit I want my money back...when you need mgmt no where to be found...when call they say to call back..cause she comes certain hrs..sorry I dont need to stick to her schedule if mgmt not there may supervisor should be available but neither one...seems like they dont hire enough..out of all that money they charge..42.95 plus 15 or 20 dollars maintenance fee almost round $60.00..no way jose... I give 3 star for the group classes and for the rest 0 star. Over all 2 stars.Treadmills are very basic. Many lockers are broken. They are not able to provide a paper copy of class schedule giving a reason that the printer is broken. You have to find street parking. Only 3 restrooms total. Staff is not much helpful. Some of the female customers are very rude when I requested to lower the music volume of her phone in sauna. The staff was unable to resolve the issue.

I’ve been going to this gym for over 4 years and I’ve watched a complete turn around in management.As far as the “odors” go, trust me when i say that they used to be much worse. If you get to the gym right as they are opening, you can see a worker cleaning every morning. You can tell they try their best to keep it clean and smelling decent. Unfortunately, you can’t control the customers who come in to a gym and don’t wear deodorant.As far as the service, there is one employee who is usually there in the morning. She is Latina with dark hair and sometimes wears glasses. One of the nicest people ever and extremely helpful. Always says hello with a smile. Always says bye with a smile. She sets a great tone for your experience at the gym. There are a couple more employees who are also friendly, including the woman that cleans in the morning. However, there is one employee who will completely ignore you if you greet her or say thank you as you leave. I don’t get it. It takes a moment out of your day to do it. She does this on a regular basis. It’s disspointing to deal with as someone who has been going to this gym for so long and as someone who has worked in customer service for 13 years. She was very friendly when i first saw her working at LR but she seems completely different now. Not sure what changed.Overall, I enjoy coming to this gym and recommend it to any other ladies who are looking to join a gym. This place helped me lose over 60 pounds between 2014-2015.

I never recommend it anyone, they will loose lot of money as there are not many machines, the hours ad service is terrible. most of the machines are useless or either not working. people book machines for their friends and staff says nothing to them. horrible policies and staff

Lucille Roberts Club sold me a month to month membership and when I went to cancel it they ask me that they will charge me 10usd cancellation fees and I was supposed to give them 45 days notice period which was never discussed or informed me at the time of my sign up.I spoke to the manager too and she said that I signed some agreement on digital pad while I clearly mentioned that they were having technical issues and I cant see the pad and lady showed me the screen which only has my personal information and no other terms and condition yet, she decided to charge it.It was a RIP OFF.They charged me for something which there team member decided to not share with me and because they were having some technical problem and I couldnt read any thing on the Pad.The customer service was pathetic even after I escalated it...

I wish I could write a review without giving any stars to this gym. It is completely waste of money and they don’t even listen to the problem of their clients. They are charging me $70 maintenance fee when I tried to cancel my membership and did not use Gym even for a day as I am moving from here. This is absolutely unfair. Its amazing to be in a gym full of women that encourage and motivate you to work! The instructors are very supportive but also a lot of fun! And if you work! You will get results in less than a month of worming out 4-6 days a week I lost the 10 pounds! Im keeping my new years resolution thanks to lucille roberts!

WORST Management!!!!!!!!!!I am a Lucille Roberts member ( Jersey City branch ) since March 2018.On 19th March 2019, I was charged yearly maintenance fee of $74.63. I decided to cancel my membership as I was not using the gym for more than last 6 months and hoping to get the maintenance fee back.I visited the branch very next day i.e. 20th March 2019, filled the cancellation form as instructed by the receptionist. She specifically told me that as I wont be continuing gym this year I would get the refund back within 10 days guaranteed.On April 1st, I saw another $47.97 charged on my account. I visited the branch once again to enquire about the refund and the new charge.Gabriella who was at the reception at that time told me that NO cancellation was processed on my account. She asked me to contact Josh Levy ( I guess, he is one of their managers ).I contacted Josh over the email. He told me that gym has 45 days cancellation notice policy and charges applied during that period cant be refunded.I got his point. I told him that I cancelled my membership on 20th March but it was not processed until my second visit i.e. 1st April. So, I requested him to consider my 45 days notice period from March 20th instead of April 1st. He told me that they have no proof of me cancelling the membership so they cant do anything. I suggested him to see CCTV footage if they arent able to locate my original cancellation form.Its been 2 weeks now and I havent got any reply yet.Also, no reply when I asked him about NOT receiving any notification of increased monthly charge.Firstly, they havent trained their staff regarding the policies and cancellation procedures. They give false assurance of the refund and then do not even process the cancellation. They lose your cancellation form. Then make you pay extra $10 as cancellation charge.They increase the fee without notifying you. They do not even reply.They take yearly maintenance fee from the member which isnt even used to increase the quality of the service that they provide to the very same member.:( :( :(

Recently, Ive been going to the LR in my neighborhood. You cant beat the price, and depending on the time of day, theres always an elliptical machine open for me to use. I go to their gym 3-4 times a week, and with the combination of using my Fitbit Charge HR, MyFitnessApp, and their equipment, Ive lost 8 lbs in less than a month.The manager has been very encouraging on my weight-loss journey. I have about 18 lbs left to lose, but I have no doubt that all of these tools are working in unison for me. The gym is clean, affordable, and they have a great staff.

These reviews are completely false. All the positive reviews appeared very recently. They used to all be negative. Nothing about this gym has changed so something fishy must be going on. Aside from the large number of cardio machines, this place is equipped like a small hotel gym. It’s pretty dirty and broken down. The music is a total auditory assault and it has to be intentional. One track in particular is almost entirely pig sounds and airhorns and they play it at a volume that rattles your organs and makes your ears ring.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. They charge you a maintenance fee 2 months after subscribing and then every 6 months after that - that means that your regular $25 membership charge turns into $40 at least twice a year. Not to mention, you cant cancel online or over the phone - you have to do it in person. This wouldnt be a problem if I was in the freaking state, but Im an out-of-state college student. Why am I paying so much for a service that I cant use, and that isnt even that great when I do use it?! So far, Ive paid around $100 to this establishment, and I couldnt be saltier about it. It sucks that this place is the most visible and accessible gym in the Heights area, but even still, I dont recommend it. Use that $100 to get yourself some home gym equipment, buy a nice temperature-controlled water bottle, queue up a couple youtube workout videos, and I swear to you that will be a better experience than Lucille Roberts.

I went to that gym besaed on the positive reviews i have read about it. Some staff were nice but others cannot wait to get rid of you! I am even not that type who like to be busy chatting either, but i believe it is respectful to treat costumers in a better way + This is the most expensive gym i have ever been to and they wont even bother considering the competitive prices that other bigger gyms beat with! But what me made me the unhappiest is the fact that i felt so tricked since i already asked the receptionist about the way of cancelling my membership i was told i had to make it through a phone call until i got myself shocked that i to do it online, which is the fine part, but getting ripped off charging me over half the expensive price i had to pay to stay with them!!I dont usually feel like writing all of this but for people to consider the other undesirable part, and would recommend you guys to be honest! I know that business and money matter, but respecting your clients by at least letting them know all facts instead of just driving your staff to drag them shall even give you guys a wider-better reputation.By the way, these reviews might be belonging to other branches of LR, but this one that i have been at is quite poor in terms of equipments and giant charges :/

Recently I had joined the central avenue, Jersey City branch and I had a terrible experience.I wish I could give 0 star . Today morning, when I went to the gym the receptionist told me that I had to pay $41 when they initially offered me $24/month . They said additional amount was for late fee, interestingly they never told me about any late fee and I had already provided them my card details. When I countered her she said that my card had declined. Today I paid $41 with the same card .So, there was two incident, one they never told me about any late fees and second the card decline story is confusing. I will never recommend anyone to this place . Sadly now I feel cheated of paying $41 just for 5 days .

They continue to charge the gym membership and since the beginning of the pandemic it has been closed. I signed up last year but because of the pandemic I only went two weeks since they closed, I paid for the membership of the whole of last year for only two weeks that I attended and this year they have deducted it from my card two more times.I send emails but they say that the email address does not exist.

The attention of the girls is excellent but the gym is decadent !!
