I installed st Augustine sod in my backyard last fall and contacted Trad’s for lawn care. They have been servicing every 2 months for sod worms and cinch bug control and I have an irrigation system running. While I think their customer portal and responsiveness is excellent, my yard has deteriorated greatly from March to August (see pictures).When questioned on why this happened I was informed the treatment only lasts a week before they can return. I have a large investment in my yard that I thought would be protected through this service, but that has severely failed. I would have liked to know the treatment doesn’t last after they observed deterioration in my yard quality and recommended a treatment plan to remedy.

Our service person was on time, very friendly, wearing a mask, and able to answer all my questions. He finished in time promised and left no mess. Looking forward to next time.

Robert performed our first application of scrub fertilization. After a short review of a few areas that were specifically in need, he simply responded with, “No worries, I’ve got you covered.” He then proceeded with a thorough application of fertilizer to the border shrubs around our home. I’m looking forward to positive results after irrigation or rain.John, the manager, had first given a visit with recommendations to strengthen the condition of our aging scrubs. Just after a short time of consideration, we decided to initiate Trad’s shrub treatment program. After years of working by trail & error with our border shrubs, ultimately, we’ve seen the need to expand our service from Trad’s lawn program to include treating our shrubs as well. I’m confident that the benefits the treatment will provide should extend the life and beauty of the border foliage to our home.

Byron was professional in his demeanor. He took the time to explain each and every question in great detail. I am impressed with the dedication and care he and the company has shown. Byron went above and beyond service to ensure my lawn is getting the it needed. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality care of their lawn..

My old pest control service did not cover carpenter ants. So when I found that I had an infestation of carpenter ants in my house, Trads was very quick to come out and take care of it for me. Trads gave me the same pest control and termite control agreement that I had with the previous company at around the same price. Though Trads was just slightly higher than what I had been paying, you really do get what you pay for. Trads Customer Service and Service Technicians that have been out are outstanding! Plus, I get the additional coverage for carpenter ants that I didnt previously have. All in all I try to be careful with my money. That being said, I feel as though I have made a really good investment with Trads for my pest control and termite control services.

I had Hien come to take care of an ant problem. He is a true asset to Trads business. Very professional and experienced. He explained everything he was doing to take care of the issue. On time, pet friendly, very nice, personable. It was. Pleasant experience. Thank you.

Hein did a great job. He arrived on time and completely destroyed the yellow jacket in-ground nest. He wisely wore a protective suit and head gear and demonstrated knowledge and competence in this work.

Trad’s customer service is the best. The office staff personnel are professional. The technicians work ethnics are great. My favorite technician is Hien Chau. He has a pleasant attitude and is very soft spoken and kind. He explains every detail of what he is servicing at my house. I highly recommend this company.

I had express multiple times, since the fall of last year, we were not happy with Trads quality of service. Our yard always had dollar weeds, which we called multiple time for a second return spray, as they were not dying. In addition, last year we began to have Spurge. We spoke with our service person, repeatedly, mainly concerning how the spurge was spreading and the dollar weeds. Finally, after an approximate 6 months of complaints to Trad’s office staff and our service man, Corey, we cancelled. The office did not even alert management. Corey gave us excuses. It’s too hot, it’s too dry, you need to water your lawn, or the craziest one “we can’t service your lawn if it rains”. Then 3 months ago, we are told our service contract does cover spurge…after a whole year of complaints that it was spreading. Really??? Why did I pay a years worth of premiums for killing WEEDS? We expected ALL WEEDS to be treated for the amount we paid. So we cancelled and we are spending those dollars on dollar weed and spurge killer. Trad’s does not care or listen. One month later, a Supervisor finally shows up, out of the blue, to inspect our lawn as we have cancelled. Just get the heck out!!!!

Hien at Trads is amazing. He came on time, was very respectful, knowledge and clean! He went through everything with me and made sure I knew what to look out for! He was so great!! Would recommend this company to anybody!

Sean was great today. Got a text alert that he had arrived at our house, so I went outside and discussed the issue with our lawn (chinch bugs). He explained the problem and how he was going to treat it. He did a thorough job spraying our lawn. He was easy to speak to and very knowledgeable.

If I could give them 5,000 stars I would. My dog got fleas from a pet sitter, and with 2 children under 2, I felt as if my situation was an emergency. I’m sure everyone thinks their pest problem is an emergency though, but Nikki at Trad’s didn’t treat me as everyone else. She treated me as if I was the only customer with an emergency, even when she didn’t have to. Not only were they the most cost efficient (by a lot), they were able to come an entire week earlier than any other pest company in Jax. Rory was my spray guy for both treatments, and was so professional and kind. There was even a mix up on the dates of my 2nd treatment, but Trad’s pulled through and came exactly when I needed them. As a mother of 2 small children, I can’t express how thankful I am that they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I will be recommending them to anyone who ever needs pest control. I have used Trads for probably 15 years or longer and my lawn looks beautiful, I always received compliment about my lawn, The secret to a beautiful lawn is water I water faithfully twice a week or 3 times if temp is in the 90s. Get an automatic sprinkler system and your lawn with thank you with a lush, green pleasure.

Ive been most impressed with Trads personnel that perform the services, whether it be for termite prevention/inspection, rats in the attic (augh) or quarterly insect control. They do not even deserve one star but I had to select atleast one. Two years of lawn service. Our yard is STILL infested with dollar weeds. We have called multiple times regarding this issue. Someone is always sent out to take care of the problem. They always explain to us that this is unacceptable by them and that it will be cleared up in no time.....We hired a new company to come out, they sprayed last Friday and the dollar weeds are already turning yellow and dying.....Dont waste your time or money with Trads, $78.00/month for the last two years we wasted on them. Weve called and e-mailed, they cancelled our service as we requested but will have someone call us back regarding a refund we requested. We have yet to hear a word from anyone at Trads. Why we stayed for two years is beyond me, guess we really had trust in them. Shame on us.

Good service very attentive and responsive

Customer for about 3 years. The supervisor - John Dyson - was rude and argumentative when we complained about the poor condition of our grass- weeds, dying patches of grass, a large dead spot which appeared to be chemical burn from what the tech applied to treat fungus in a previous visit. Very unprofessional - definitely will not recommend this company and will be placing our business with another service.

We have been using Trads for years and Hien has always been the one to service our home. We appreciate his professionalism and great disposition!

Very happy using their quarterly pest control service and have been doing so for years. This preventive service goes a long way in keeping the bug populations to a minimum.

Had Trad start treading my lawn in September of 2020 because I had an on going issue with what I thought was sod webworms, which I actually ended up controlling before their services started. Daniel Milligan was the service person who treated my lawn in both October and November. During the month of November, large areas of lawn in both the front and back started dying. When Daniel came to do a treatment in February, I discussed the dead areas with him and he immediately became defensive and took what I was saying and asking him personally. He kept rudely interrupting me when I was stating my concerns and never let me finish what I was saying. At that point, I asked him to leave my property and I would call Trad to have someone more professional to service my lawn. I discussed these issues with a manager named Byron who informed me he would be at my residence the next day to go over this issues with me, which he did. Byron was very professional and listened to my concerns and informed me he would look into the matter and get back with me. Well, that never happened and I never heard from Byron again.The first week of March, another manager (John Dyson) came to my residence to inspect my yard. John apparently was not kept informed of my issues and had no answers for me when we discussed the dead areas of my lawn. I discussed with him about the rudeness and unprofessionalism of Daniel Milligan and that I haven’t heard a response from the manager Byron. John stated Byron was on vacation... apparently for a month??, I asked. As I showed manager John my issues with my dead yard, I made sure he knew I had no dead areas in my yard when I started with their service and asked him how did or could this have happened . All John kept saying to me was “ I don’t know”. I then asked what can he do for me and again he stated “I don’t know”. Since the manager of the company had no answers for my concerns and was not prepared when inspecting a customers lawn they service, I informed John to conceal my contract and refund me March’s payment. John stated he can’t, he has to get permission from the owner, who was out of town that week. I said I will call the owner myself and inform him/her of all of these issues. John then told me “the owner will only send it to me to take care of”. Shaking my head dumbfoundedly, I told him “ then just do it”.2 days later I received an email of them canceling my contract and refunding my money, which goes to show they were at fault with my dead yard.PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are unprofessional, rude and apparently don’t know the ins and outs of lawn service and in the long run you might have to replace your whole yard like me.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I signed a contract for service. Trads never performed service for outside fire ants. In addition this second issue less than week. First issue was I signed contract on Friday 10/30/20 and they did not come out till Thursday 11/5/20. Stay far away from this poor managed company. David S

I highly recommend Trads Pest Control service. They have been treating my lawn for many years, and I have never had a problem. Their treatments are very effective (much better than anything I could do myself). Their technicians are courteous and professional. The few times I had to contact the office, the staff there was helpful. Their cost is very reasonable.

Our technician, Pho Chung, is always prompt and he cares about our lawn. He’s excited when the lawn is looking good.

Our technicians, Tom and Robert E, always provide great service and were definitely satisfied overall with Trads services. Today Robert E left a very detailed note on the portal and gives clear instructions about next steps after the treatment is applied. The automated text reminders about appointments are also a great feature. Would recommend to others in the Jax area!

Needed one time pest control and was shopping around for best prices. Trad’s was on the middle-upper side. Decided not to go with them. They sent a phishing letter to my address stating my payment was due. They did not actually charge me, but the letter states “whoops! Looks like you forgot us. Please pay your balance due so your services stay on schedule”. This may be automatically generated when they get information from you when you call, but it is misleading and dishonest.Update: After posting my review above, Trad’s called to apologize inform me that their new software automatically generated and sent the bill. The rep on the phone was very apologetic and nice. I’m leaving the review above in case the same happens to anyone. The review above has nothing to do with their service, as I did not end up going with them so I can’t comment on that. The three stars given is based on the inconvenience of having a bill sent to me when I never contracted their service (hopefully they fixed this problem), and also base on the fact that their prices were higher then most other pest services. For one time service, they also do not do a 2 week follow up visit at no extra cost, like most other pest services in the Jacksonville area

Chris always checks in with me and discusses his concerns about my lawn. He explains his applications and seasonal changes that are occurring. Very professional and knowledgeable.

This review is long overdue. I had a major chinch bug infestation that ruined a large part of my front yard. I did all I could to eliminate the problem and restore the yard myself, but needed the extra help due to the excessive damage done to my lawn and the fact that the HOA was on my back about it. I hired Trads about a year ago when a good neighbor of mine suggested them to me. They worked with me on what treatment my yard needed and didnt didnt push me into purchasing any service I didnt want, plus they didnt spray my garden beds as I requested! A year later my yard looks almost perfect--as if there were infestation to begin with! And no more HOA on my back either! While I dont need them anymore, I am considering keeping their service because of how well they took care of my yard and treated me!

I have been a Trad’s customer for almost 30 years and have been very satisfied with their service. In my opinion, one of Trad’s best technicians is Pho Chung. I have know Pho for approximately 10 years and his work has been outstanding. It seems that employees with a good work ethic are hard to find but Pho strives to do a quality job on every assignment. It is my observation that Pho takes care of my lawn as if it was his own. I would highly recommend Trad’s lawn service.

I am disappointed to post this review as we wanted to go with Trads since wed heard lots of good things about them. Our main concern about hiring a pest control company to treat our lawn is that we have a well on our property which provides water to our house, including water we filter for drinking. We discussed the well at length, and agreed that the yard within a certain distance of the well head would not be treated. Within the first few minutes of the first treatment, the technician sprayed all over the area near the well head, despite us talking about it again in the minutes before treatment started. They let us out of our contract, but we were still charged for the first treatment even though it was partial and risked the safety of our water.

From a person who worked here its not worth the pay, find any other pest company they will pay way better even for entry level positions. For example Trugreen hires for 14 an hour which is more than the 11 they offer you at trads, tho id never work at Trugreen thats just an example of a low quality company THAT PAYS MORE. Also while i was working there they really wanted us to push google reveiws. All im saying is maybe look into other companys like maybe Safari who cares more about their customers satisfaction not google reviews!

Israel notified me the day before of the date he would be servicing my lawn. He arrived when he said he would, sprayed with fertilizer and weed control, and left a note explaining what he had done and the need for me to water. I am very satisfied with his dependability and expertise.

They came out and did the 3 month application. Service was awesome.

Finally got a lawn service after two years to help with sedge issues in the front yard and sod web worms in the back. Herbicides were applied too heavyIly and browned out large portions of my St Augustine grass (the tech was very nice and admitted this was the issue, and I have no problem with an error being made). The manager, on the other hand, denied this was their fault and claimed it was an irrigation issue (one that appeared for the first time after two years in areas covered by multiple sprinkler heads). When I attempted to cancel my service, they reminded me I was under contract for a full year.So Trad’s will kill your grass, then hold you hostage to continue doing so until your end of the contract is fulfilled, even if their’s isn’t. Only one more month until I can find a decent lawn care company.

I have used trads pest control for almost 10 years now. Tom has been our pest control person from the very beginning. Always professional and knowledgeable. Great service every time.
