DJ is great, he did my engagement photo haircut. DJ has given me many cuts, all have exceeded my expectations. I will only use Prestige from here on out. Other shops just dont CUT it. The quality and attention to detail are top notch, not just from DJ but every cut, from every barber. (DJ is my favorite barber) Prestige is on point. They only have the best barbers in JAX. Ive been to Barber shops all around Jacksonville and Prestige has been my favorite by far. Ive been going to there for about 6 months and DJ has been the best barber I could ask for. Hes always on time and goes above and beyond expectations. 10/10 experience overall.

Just dont. $90 later we have 3 horrible and 1 decent cuts. Uneven and huge chunks! Too short to fix unless we shave them. The best people left with the quickness all at once and I suggest yall follow them.

I go here when my regular barber is not available. Harry the Asian manager/owner, is always on top of things. I had hair cuts by all the other stylists here and ALL of them are top notch. Most times I’m in and out in 1 hr. Great spot!

Been coming here 9 years and today was my last time. Ive seen the price climb from $15-$16 per cut to $22. It was $22 just a few months ago. Now the price is $29 per cut because of apparent new management without any justification. Quality hasnt improved and no upgrades in the shop.

Love this place! Very lively, great barbers...love Stephanie & Harry but judging by the great cuts and smiles from the other customers, you can’t go wrong with any barber there. The conversations are fun and hilarious. I am in there every two weeks like clockwork.

I waited for four hours waiting for someone to cut my hair. The whole time people are walking in and getting haircuts and leaving. I have spoke to three barbers at this location. All three just told me to wait. I decided to patiently wait for another hour, when I noticed three barbers in the back doing nothing. I then approached them requesting a hair cut they then told me that they all have appointments and don’t have the time today to cut my hair. This is unprofessional as multiple people have seen me sitting here for a long time and even was told to wait. So now I had to leave the location wasting 5 hours with no haircut at all. Very poor service. Highly dissatisfied. Will recommend to friends and family not to go to prestige barbers on Kernan Rd.

Wow. My first 1 star review. I usually feel bad giving 4 stars. I called to ask if they offered stylist services, because I have an engagement photoshoot coming up in 2-3 weeks and I would like to get my hair done well for that - this far out it could be cleaned up or tweaked before the event. I expressed this on the phone. They offered me a 1PM the same day (90min later), that was tight for my schedule so I asked if 2PM was available, the person on the phone insisted on 1PM. I arrived a couple minutes before 1PM ready for my stylist appointment. The waiting room had 3 people before me when I checked in. There were 2 people cutting hair, Im sure they are fantastic at their jobs, but the vibe I got was that they were just turning out haircuts, and with a full lobby it was clear that I would not be getting what I had asked for. One of the 2 people at the counter went back to clean their station and beckoned me over. Once I got back, she pointed me towards one of the 2 original cutters, whos previous client had literally just stepped up, and said that he would be doing my hair. He had not cleaned up his station yet so the remaining person at the desk informed me that they were behind and I would have a wait.I do not mind waiting if I walk in at a barber shop. I do not mind just getting a haircut. I also understand places get behind easily.What I do mind is that if I call and specifically ask to work with a stylist that they would just put me in the haircut queue, and then not even be able to meet the appointment time that they emphatically chose.I called after I got home, but no managers were available per the same person at the desk that I made my appointment with.Im not special. But hair doesnt grow back instantly. I didnt demand a stylist, I asked if the services were available and they confirmed that they were, then they stuffed me into the fast-turnover haircut line, and still wanted to make me wait.Just say no if you dont offer the service and cannot fulfill appointment times.

Told him what I wanted, didn’t even touch the top part of my hair, didn’t even try to remove my hair with a blow dryer or brush, didn’t ask if I wanted gel let alone combed my hair, shaved my neck poorly and never saw him replacing the razor’s blade...the worst $20.70 I ever spent. On the other hand, the African American lady next to him, did a fantastic job my first time there. I should’ve waited for her and that’s what I’ll do next time.

Lori has cut my hair for the past year or so and always have a good experience. My head is balding on top and Lori does her best to cut it where it looks as best it can. And she has a great personality which makes for a good combination. I hope she’s still there after the shutdown. Otherwise I’ll have to find another stylist I’m comfortable with.

DJ is the man! Go give him your business because I need him to still be there when I go back. Been looking all over the place in Jax for a barber that would listen and not leave me with some sort of sad military cut. DJ was fast, friendly, and gave me one of the best fades Ive ever had.

One of the white guys did my hair and completely whacked it up (literally). I showed him a picture of someone with a fade that had messy hair up top (usually achieved with scissors and hair gel) and he proceeded to get a razor blade and PULL my hair out up top with the blade. The most painful haircut Ive ever had. The whole haircut looked terrible when he was done. Im not sure he had any idea what he was doing, but I meant a messy, stylish look like in the photo not a homeless, hobo look which I received. Cant go back here and deal with Edward Scissorhands again. I would have gone to Lori, but she is no longer there.

Being a firefighter I have always just cut my own hair with a set of clippers and guard. But moved to Jacksonville and wanted a hair cut. Went with a Hard Part hair cut and Harry aced the challenge with ease. Added a straight razor shave to top it all off. Perfect and great atmosphere with good pricing.

Went there once and got my haircut with Lori and it was great, just what I wanted. Now, second time I tried a different individual and what a mess. After 1 month waiting for a cut so disappointed. Seems like it was her first time doing a comb Over. Nothing was right about it. Choose wisely folks, definitely not returning.

I went and had my undercut cut there and when I went to leave I put my hair back up, when I did I pulled a handful of long hairs out. I asked the barber how a handful of my hair was missing she said she didn’t cut it. Then she looked at it and told me you can’t notice so I took her word, when I left I took a picture only to notice a huge chunk was missing. I then called a different barber at House of fades asking if they could fix it. I was not given a refund from Prestige Barbers instead offered for the next cut to be free by the same barber who messed it up. I declined the free cut because I would not ever trust her with my hair again. Instead of being told sorry and let me fix it while I was on site she insisted you couldn’t see a gap at all. I had a gap the size of a baseball in the back of my hair.

There are few places I regularly go to, but this is one of them. Best haircut you’ll get in Jax - been going here for 6 years.

Lori is an absolute blessing. Im from Orlando and a one barber type of guy. I love my barber in Orlando and often travel to see him. I couldnt do so this past cut and had to take chance on someone knew. From the second I walked in she greeted me with love and treated me right. During the cut she was very professional but still joked around and made sure I was having a great experience. My fade came out crisp and flawless. I will definitely be back as I have found my Jacksonville barber.

I’ve had my hair and beard trimmed a few times here so far! They do an impeccable job. They don’t ask for your phone number, email, etc. They don’t try to sell you products. They just get you in, do exactly what you want, and check you out.My latest experience was with Angie. She did a phenomenal job on my hair cut and straight razor beard trim! She took her time, and I took her recommendation for everything I was unsure of. She took time to make sure everything was perfect, and the use of hot towels, oils, powders, and after shaves made it seem like I should have paid a lot more than $28. There really is no better value in Jacksonville, in my opinion!A personal recommendation from me, if you go, is to take a picture of your first haircut. That way, if you end up being a repeat customer, you can say “I want it to be like this” or “they did this last time, but could you try to do this instead?” I think it helps them out with visualizing what a customer is looking for!

I have never had a bad experience here. Go all the time. Most of the negative reviews seem to come from the type of customers that get fades. Maybe it’s the awful haircut you’re getting. Try something else. This isn’t 2006 anymore, you out-of-touch losers.

Great place for a haircut. Reminds you of an old fashioned barbershop. Would recommend an appointment if youre going on Saturday. Prices are very fair as well. Much better quality than Super Cuts.

I have been here several times and so far I have had great experiences. Ive always received a great cut and the employee are friendly. Most of them dont talk very much during the haircut, which I think is great, Im there for a cut and not for a therapist. Other people probably feel differently about that. However, the last time I was there the barber cut the sh** out of me behind my ear with the razor, it was bleeding pretty good but he did not say anything to me, I thought it was razor burn until I got home. However, Im still giving 5 stars because, despite the blood, it was probably the best cut Ive had yet, and it was in an obscure place and he probably didnt notice anyways.

This is a 5 star barber shop. the interior is clean, comfortable and classy, capped off with a free beer and flat screen tv while you wait. the service is excellent and the owner is very attentive to her customers needs. the barber Mike is fantastic. he listens carefully to the style cut you want and then he delivers. I cant think of a better barber shop I have ever been to.

Very nice location. Although they looked nearly full on a Friday afternoon, we got in immediately as walk-ins. My 14 year old had his hair cut. He wanted something other than with the clippers we use at home, and not really a business cut. Renie quickly gave hi a very nice, slightly trendy cut, that will still meet his dads approval, smile. I have used several of the stylist and the were all great.

Idk what type of business sends first time customers to one of their new hires who needs to ask the barber next to them how to do a fade, but hey I don’t own a business so what would I know. 0/10 would not recommend. Ask the barber for an inch of hair on top and a fade from a two into the top combed over and then to taper my hair line and he left me looking like a Syrian refugee. So If you’re wondering if these one star reviews are really all true they are !!!

My dad was looking for a new barbershop last week, so I did some digging around and I liked your shop. I got a call from my dad a couple days later and he was very impressed. He only waited 5 minutes even though it was busy. He said and I quote Carlos is my new barber from now on.

Been going to Prestige for about 2 years now, the staff is friendly and helpful. Typically Im a walk-in so there have been times where I have had to wait a little bit for a spot to open up, but they are always up front on the wait time, and if you have a specific barber you want they will let you know if they can squeeze you in between appointments.Eric does a awesome job, and is very detail oriented. I highly recommend him!

First time here with DJ was awesome! When it was time for my son to get another haircut it was a no brainer to bring him in again and my husband too.I called ahead and made appointments for both of them with at the same time with no preference of barber. Yet we still waited for 30min for my husband to sit down in the chair and 45min for my son to sit down. I became suspicious of a mistake so I looked at their sign in sheet, and discovered they had been calling walk-Ins before appointments. I nicely pointed it out. The lady was very apologetic and advised me next time to star that we had an appointment.Our next appointment I did just that. Yet they still continued to call walk-Ins before appointments. Never again.

This place is awesome! I usually ask for Mike but the others are great as well. It is a couple of dollars (~$3) more than some places, but honestly, you get what you pay for. Try it and youll love it here.

I just barely moved to JAX and was in desperate need of a good barber. I have a unique hairline and so its very difficult for me to find a good barber who can get my fade down without making my hair look silly. I ended up getting my haircut by Harree and Im positive in saying he gave me the best haircut Ive ever received! Exactly what I asked for and he gave me a perfect fade! I paid $17 ($22 with tip) and I felt like I should have paid way more! I will be coming here for now on!

Im sure there is 1 or 2 talented barbers in there but when your asking to have a styled hair cut and beard trimmed and faded, show them a picture of what you want I expect to have that done with somebody who has experience or capable of that. Not sombody pretending they know what there doing so hopeful you know who your visiting there or your just rolling the dice for some armature job.

I was there for 20 or so minutes, got a great haircut, beard trim, laughed my tail off the whole time and maybe already found a replacement barber after my regular one had to leave the business for personal reasons. This place is a glorified fantastic sams. I could talk about the poor service, but Ill let the numbers do the talking. I arrived at 10:05, and was back in my car by 10:22. This was for a haircut and beard trim, which was a beard removal. I could go on about how there was no edgework done, no fading done, etc, but for a guy with a full head of hair and a beard, this is unacceptable. My only consolation after going here is knowing that the hair will grow back.Response to the owner: a review isnt ignorant, its a rating of the service received and entirely valid. I dont care how long youve been in business, my haircut was lousy and youre right I wont be back. Its not my job to train your barbers. When I see poor service, my first reaction isnt to ask them to continue, why would I want my hair that much shorter which would only lengthen the time before seeing a legitimate barber? And if you feel that managing your business is a waste of your time, then maybe that is a good indication of the problem.

Worst shave in my life, line work is so off, still had patches on my neck,! So embarrassing especially holiday weekend! Pretty sure Ray Charles could have done better job. Never will go back or recommend, I understand sometimes a lil ooppps but NO this like night and day per side!!! 1 star is being kind!!!!!
