Second time we have set an appointment, drove all the way from Green Cove Springs for a haircut and then the guy that owns the shop just doesn’t show. All the barbers act like it is a common occurrence and try to push us to another barber. We were loyal. Great haircut if they could get there act together, but this place is now a never again for us.

Farrell did a great job fixing the terrible cut that I got from someone else at a different salon. He talked to me about my hair type, explained to me what went wrong with the other cut, and overall demonstrated a lot of knowledge about what types of cuts best achieved the look I was going for. Having just started my journey toward a yeard, I was very wary of letting just anyone mess with six months of time invested in my beard. Blake was great. Professional, detailed and very willing to listen to my concerns and questions. Talked his way through the job letting me know exactly what he was doing. I can’t say enough about my experience with Pomade and Tonic Barbershop.

Did not like the experience. Made an appointment a week prior. The barber I scheduled with never showed up, I never got notified that he was going to be late, and, after sitting 30min, they put me with a new person. She tried hard, but I can’t say my cut was professionally done.

My son got the perfect haircut for NJROTC! Great atmosphere, great value! Sending my husband for beard maintenance next!

Ive been going to the gentlemen at P&T for years, and have NEVER gotten a bad cut. In fact, I DID get a bad cut at a totally different shop, went to P&T, and they did a bang-up job fixing it right up.While they are an appointment-only shop, they do that due to their popularity and demand. If you need a cut, they are definitely worth setting up a time, and going up there. If theres a wait, just be patient, youll be happy you did.

Pomade and Tonic is a local gem! I have gone to multiple other barber shops in town but I have finally found one I will stick with. The care and detail put into my haircut was obvious. I never received so many compliments on my haircut! These folks can handle any kind of cut. I prefer fades myself and Pomade and Tonic delivers. Recommended a million times over!

I attempted to wrangle it under my control, but with no end to its growth in sight, I knew I needed the help of professionals.Robert swooped in with sharpened blades and tools of his art. Paired with a skill that can only be described as mystical, he helped tame the wild beast into submission.Plus, this really hot chick came in and chilled while I was there. So that was cool.Great service. Great price. 5 stars, straight up.

After my barber moved I was stuck looking for another place to go. This is hands down one of the best barbershops I’ve been to. I’m very particular about where I get my hair cut, and as long as I’m in Jacksonville and as long as they’re still around, this is where I will be going to get it done. At most salons even if you get a good haircut, it may not look that great a few days later due to the way they cut your hair. Being a master barber Ferrell layered my haircut so that it would look great later. Its been 2 weeks and my cut still looks great! Best haircut ever!

I recently found out about this place through recommendations from friends. Its a 45 minute drive from us, but I am so happy I made the journey!! My son was unsure about his cut, and after talking with one of the guys, decided on something. He was extremely happy! His hair looked great, and they gave him suggestions on products to use to help keep the style. After my younger son saw it, he decided he wanted to have his very thick hair cut as well. We came in with no style and said, help! Again, they cut his hair perfectly. I strongly recommend this shop to anyone. The prices are great, the atmosphere is wonderful, A step back in time with the decor. It was truly a great experience.

Savannah Dark has got some major skill I brought my son to her for a hair cut 2 days before his aunts wedding that he was ring bearer of. For $15 she gave him the a gold standard haircut. everywhere we went someone had something to say about how great he looked.

Mike Hay was my barber and absolutely nailed the comb over with bald fade and a hard part. NOT an easy haircut for a new client and he nailed it. My mother went in with my 3 y/o son for the parent+kid combo for $30...its been a month and my mother is still complaining about the terrible service. The owner was 20 minutes late to the appointment and he did such a bad job on my sons hair. Straight bangs across the forehead all the way back to the ears. He looks like a dunce. When he finished his chop job on my kid he told the woman cutting my moms hair to stop because she was doing too much. Now she has half a bob.I dont recommend this shop for people who arent hipsters or in their 20s. The owner clearly wants a specific clientele in his shop and doesnt care for families.

Autumn was my Barber. I was going from long hair to short hair. I love what she did. She really knows hair and how to style it. I love my haircut. Autumn has now left this location and started her own business so my review only goes for her haircuts. She can be found under the name redhotlooks, she is a great barber, hair dresser, and hair extraordinaire.

First visit yesterday. Autumn was my barber. It had seriously been about 5 years since my last haircut. Ive been shaving my head since them. Went in having no idea what I wanted except cleanup my beard and stop my head from looking like a cue-tip. Clean me up she did. After she was done my wife was happy and even my daughter said I looked handsome. I had the Hemingway combo and I could not have been happier. She was quick, efficient, pleasant and professional. I highly recommend autumn and the barber shop to anyone looking for an awesome haircut, shave or beard shaping at a reasonable price. I will be returning.

Pretty variable depending on who you get. If I was just rating on the times that Justin cut my hair it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately my schedule is very irregular and changing all the time so I cant always book far enough in advance to get Justin so I go with who is available. After a couple of ok but not great cuts with a young man who I cant remember his name, I had a very poor experience with Crossroads. Both with the quality of the cut and with his reluctance to address my concerns with the cut. All in all you can get a 5 star experience here but you can also get a 1 star.

I take my 4 year old son here to get his hair cut about once a month. Sam does an amazing job (even with my squirmy child who turns into an eagle mid-cut) The other barbers always joke and heckle along with my boy just like hes one of the guys... its pretty hilarious to watch. Theres always a treat in the treasure chest when hes finished. Great price and great service. As a mother, finding someone who can play along with your child while keeping them still enough to give an impeccable cut is worth more than money. PLUS, the shop is filled with beautiful antiques. Boy and I will be lifelong customers....

I just finished my third visit to P&T. I was referred by a friend a few months ago. I really like the place. I enjoy being able to make an appointment so I dont have to wait. Ive seen Jamie by luck of the draw every time and shes always done a great job despite my vague instructions. Shes quite friendly and fun to talk with. Ill be back in a month or so.

I decided to find some places for barbershop for mens haircut. i found the name of places. I decided that i want to go there and call an appointment. I went there and nice place. He really good skilling to haircut on my hair. Also i never use shave razor on my back neck . It was awesome and neat. I like that. First thing i meet Farrell. He really very nice guy and good communication with me. I love this place.

Horrible experience turned into a GREAT one. They sat me in the rookie chair with victor and he hacked my hair up. Im sure any of the other guys are artist and I would have left sharp. I called up the shop the following day and Blake asked me to come back in and hooked me up big time! He took the time to fit me in between his customers and really did right by me. I cant explain how grateful I am that blake took the time to make this right. Now I can propose to my girlfriend this weekend in confidence. Thank you Blake! Word of advice though dont sit in Victors chair.

It may sound strange, but one of my biggest concerns moving from Illinois to Jacksonville was finding a barber as good as the one I was leaving. I did a search for barber shops in my area and Pomade & Tonic was first on the list that came up. I checked their website, looked at the staff and thought if anyone knows what a Hollywood style haircut, it would be here. This place is awesome. Great mix of staff, good old school feel and look. Mike did a fantastic job on my hair, fixing what the Navy Exchange messed up and I feel human again. If someone here cant give you the haircut you are looking for, you are way more anal than I am. Highly recommended!!!!

Ive been coming to Pomade and Tonic for about a year now. I was a little intimidated the first time I went because it was a new place for me and I wasnt sure what I was getting into. The staff was, and still is, extremely friendly and welcoming. The shop is clean, comfortable and the barber chairs are really cool. Every time I have visited I have left with the best haircut I have ever had. The barbers are really good at taking my vague instructions of what I would like and exceeding my expectations. From accepting walk-ins, calling, and scheduling over the internet, they make it extremely convenient to create an appointment, and for the quality of services, the prices are extremely economic. Anyone looking for a great place to get a haircut and meet some amazing people should stop in and give it a try.

Went once and didn’t get the experience that I thought Pomade & Tonic was going to be like. Months later I tried again and got Shawn Gutz. From start to finish it was a completely different experience. Shawn took the time to hear what I wanted and executed it with precision I didn’t know was even possible. The only reason I hesitated to write a review is because I don’t want him to get too busy for me! He was professional, personal, and all around amazing. 5 stars to Pomade & Tonic today and ALL the stars to Shawn Gutz.

Walking in to Pomade & Tonic is like a time warp to the 1930s with all the antiques, the haircuts are top notch and detailed. They do it all from razor fades to slick comb overs. All the staff is friendly and professional. Definitely recommend!
