George and his staff are always helpful! I feel that this is an old fashioned, fair dealing, down to earth, reasonable mechanic shop. We will return for future repairs.

Reasonable prices and time efficient!

My husband and I have been taking our vehicles to George Bartons Auto Repair for about 12 years. He had one new, unfinished building behind his house when a friend first recommended him to us! Now he has several buildings and other mechanics to help him keep up with the work!!Which says a lot about the quality of the mans work... he is always busy and many are repeat customers, like us!When we attended a church in Jacksonville for several years, we were on the bus ministry for 3 years. Our church was just one of several that take their passenger vans to Georges for routine maintenance & repairs. I have seen other churchs vans parked in front of the garage doors, some have traveled some distance to get to Georges Garage outside of Jacksonville. But youre willing to do that to not get ripped off!And George and the men that work for him, like Tim, are not going to lie to you, do work that you have not approved of, damage your vehicle to add on unnecessary repairs, or gouge your wallet too deep with the bill!Tim even told us what the codes meant for my Check Engine light after we had OReillys run the device to my cars computer.Compare that to the answer we got from Mclarty Fords Service Technician--- which was they would have to get a mechanic to run diagnostics on it first, to see what it was ( I had the code #s on a piece of paper in my hand that also told it had to do with fuel). This guy didnt know what the codes or wording meant! I only took it back to Mclarty because they had replaced the fuel pump and filter, which was guaranteed, but the mechanics were still going to have their high-priced hands on my car, so their warranty aint worth spit!Oh, one other unique detail about Georges is that they are one of the few garages left that works on classic cars!!Yes, motorheads, and fans of big tail fins, muscle cars, and the full throated Vrrooommmm of a big block engine- these guys can do everything to restore your classic baby Chevy, Mopar or Ford except for body work and paint!!They had an original owner, 1960s white Impala in the shop and a 1940s model Ford, I think, the day we picked up our truck. Both were drool worthy!! 😛. When Tim asked if we wanted to hear that Chevy engine run? OMG!! Of course! The interior was a gorgeous red with white stitches. It looked showroom perfect! Like it did inside 50 years ago and even better under the hood now!So, to sum up how we feel about George Bartons Auto Repairs, they are definitely a 5 Stars on Honesty. 5 Stars on Quality of Work. 5 Stars on getting your vehicle back to you. 5 Stars on Customers Courtesy, Friendliness & Smiles! 5 Stars on the Cost of Service. 5 Stars on Piece of Mind Auto Repair!Your car is in great hands when it is at Georges!!

They diagnosed and fixed the problem with my truck at an affordable price. What more can you ask for? Will be taking my truck to Tim for any future service needs.

Its a good place to have your car fixed it, are always very good with finding out what the problem is. I have used them many times and each time they did an extraordinary job. The prices are great the work is guaranteed and I recommend anyone who needs a great mechanic to go see them.

A mechanic flat out told me that the code I pulled on my vehicle was a manufacturer specific code and that they were the only ones who could fix it ( not true ), he then went on to tell me that my transmission either needed to be rebuilt or replaced ( not true ) I tried to explain the situation to him about what to look for on his scanner, but he dismissed anything I had to contribute to finding the solution, long story short, he didnt do a code clearing. Found a friend with a much better and advanced scanner and he did the code clearing in less than 7 minutes ( no charge) and needless to say I dont have to come out of pocket to pay for a transmission I know and knew I didnt need

George Barton & his staff are extremely professional and their prices are a very very affordable. Ill trust them as they have always done exactly what they said and repair was right in line with the estimate. They dont talk over your head and theyre real adapt at explaining the repair to the common person.

Everyone my wife and I have dealt with here has been helpful and open with us about issues and possible solutions. They arent the type to see a woman and think, Oh boy! Easy sale! Huge amount of gratitude and respect for they folks here.

Awesome shop with friendly knowledgeable people. Had major repairs done to a Jeep Wrangler (engine replacement) and all work was completed timely and professionally. Go there once and you will go there every time you need a mechanic for life

Good work with fair price...

This shop seems as though they know their stuff,but want a HUGE price for it!! Just to replace a radiator,they quoted me $500, when it was one,they called and told me $565, when I went to pick the car up,the price jumped up to $613, and idk why!! No one was available to speak to that knew why I was charged that much! I would NOT suggest taking your vehicle here to b fixed unless u have alot of money to throw away! A great,inexpensive mechanic is Wallers garage,but they stay booked up,because they r so good!!

We took a 57 Chevy to them because apparently they are the only ones who can work on them around the area. We needed the work done in time for cruising on the coast in October. It wasn’t much work at all. Like a days work. My husband would have done it but he recently had shoulder surgery. So we drop the car off first of September. It took them a MONTH to get to it. All that had to be done was a kill switch on the battery and some LED headlights installed. They did install a choke after talking with my husband but still simple work right? They charged us $700 and didn’t even hook the lights up right. Needless to say we won’t be taking anything to them again. It was my fault for not getting a quote before work was even started. If I’d of known it was going to cost a whole leg I’d of refused service and made my husband teach me to do what needed to be done.

Very unhappy with their service. We had our car towed there on Monday and told them we needed it back as soon as possible as this is our only vehicle. We called every day and were told the same thing...they had not had a chance to look at it yet, then they were not sure what the problem was. Finally on Friday, when We called again they said that they had been trying to call us ( we never recieved a call) and that it would be over $ 700 to replace a fuel pump on top of their $92 diagnositic fee! Plus they could not tell us how soon they could have it done after they had already sat on it for a week. We had it towed to Walkers and they completed the work in one day and for $300 less. We will never use George Barton again.

I took my SUV in to just get it checked out. This company DID NOT notify me of the repairs or the cost of the repairs. Instead, they did the repairs and charged me for these repairs which I DID NOT authorize. I WILL NOT do business with this company again. If I could give zero stars, I would.
