I took my vehicle to John Harris Body Shop for paint repairs authorized by Toyota. When I received the vehicle back the paint on the vehicle now do not match the same paint as the original super white that was on the vehicle. After reading other reviews others have encountered the same problem matching paint. Upon other issues found dust particles in new paint and unpainted areas inside gas cap lid. Overall rating not pleased nor satisfied with the quality of paint on this vehicle it is now two-toned. I recommend that you do not use this shop for any paint repairs. Hopefully I can speak to the Owner on this issue….

My daughter reared ended another card. Her front bumper had to be replaced. They were fast and professional. My teenager daughter handle the transaction. She had no complaints. That to me is a plus.

It has been a terrible experience.They have had my car for over 30 days to do a 6-10 day job.It took them 2 weeks to tow my truck from lexington to irmo. 20 miles at best.I just called them 30 minutes ago and they couldnt tell me if my truck was ready or not. They said they would call me right back.Still waiting. I would give them zero stars but that wasnt an option

What was supposed to be a little fender bender ended up being a major deal because of the location of the impact. After finally getting the car back, I was so surprised at the job the crew did to restore my paid for baby. the rear and rear quarterpanels are making the rest of the car look bad. Great job and the paint! Beautiful!

I picked John Harris based on previous really good reviews and they were all correct! Chase is the face of the company, and he was very friendly & professional. They were thorough in assessing what needed to be fixed, and kept me updated by text throughout the process. Car was done two days sooner than promised too! Referred to them off a list provided by USAA after a dear strike. They did great work and Id use them again without hesitation.

I took my truck to them for a ding repair. I got the truck back with the xm radio not working, windshield wipers set in the wrong position and windshield washer not working. I had to return the truck again for the new repairs. They told me it was ready again. I returned again and picked it up. The windshield washer was still not hooked up and the cal panel was not installed correctly. I returned the truck again for the same repair that they created. They fixed it again. I picked it up again. I had to finish installing the cal panel in their parking lot, in the dark. I had called to ensure that I would have access to my vehicle and was hung up on. Through this entire endeavor I remained polite and patient. You would think this demeanor would be universal considering they are the service business. This was last night (1/28/21)We took my wifes car there when they first opened with the same results, needing to return for repairing the repair twice.I took a different truck to them and that was a nightmare. After a wreck where I was not at fault. They fixed the body and not the suspension. They told my insurance company there was nothing wrong with the truck suspension. The insurance sided with John Harris Body shop and dismissed the vibration at high speed. I had to take the truck to a dealership for the suspension repair that took an additional month. Ultimately I was canceled from my insurance carrier due to this dispute.Lesson learned. I will not be back to John Harris Body Shop for any reason again.

I had an auto accident in which my 2020 Kia Soul was damaged pretty bad. I knew that John Harris would be the only place my car would go. Overall, they did a good job, got my vehicle back to me in a fair amount of time and kept me informed during the process of the status of my vehicle.Update 08/18/20However, since then, I have found paint over-spray on the windshield and back glass. The weather stripping on the passenger front door will not stay on the door, every time I put the window up it pulls the weather stripping up (I believe this is due to the door being re-skinned instead of replaced, the welds are preventing the weather strip from locking on). None of this should have been missed by quality control in my opinion.Update 11/27/20 - Found where the passenger door is pulling the quarter panel trim off when the door is opened resulting in chipped paint. Overall, very, very poor job. Will not recommend this place for anything. Only reason they now have 2 stars is because they did do a good job on the paint including what they got on the windshield.....

Well the first review I wrote about John Harris being a poor establishment with quality of work and personnel. They contacted me about said review and will be in contact with me to resolve the issue. Well it’s now been another week and still nothing! What business can successfully work with poor workman ship poor installation and poor communication! Never get any of your work done there because if you find even the slightest discrepancy they will beat around the bush and act like they care but just enough for you to get exhausted and either live with the issue or fix it yourself!

Its never great to have to go to a body shop but John Harris made it painless! From the moment I dropped my car off, they communicated with me by text or phone call every step of the way. I was never for one second left wondering the status of the repairs and never felt I needed to call and check on my car. They estimated it would be finished in a week and it was done in three days and looks great! Fast, friendly and efficient service.... doesnt get much better than this John Harris location!

My husband and I got in two car accidents within three months and we took our vehicles there both times! Everyone that works there is so personable and friendly. We ended up borrowing a car from family while ours was in the shop and with our luck the radiator hose busted while we were at John Harris Body Shop, right before they were closing. The men in the shop came out to help my husband get it back running (even though it was time for them to go home). They communicated with us every step of the way and they made sure we fully satisfied. Highly recommend!!

My wife was in an accident and we had the repairs to her GMC Acadia Limited done at John Harris in Irmo. From the first interaction with the staff to the last we had outstanding customer service. They communicated well with us through each step, which we very much appreciated. The work they did was absolutely beautiful and we would definitely use them again should the need arise.

Second time in a little over a year which is the only unfortunate part :) They first repaired my Jeep after hitting a deer and then recently it was broken into. Scott up front is so great with customers. They do quality work in a timely manner and keep you well informed! I would recommend them to anyone.

At one point I realized I needed some items that I left in my trunk and the gentleman at the front was very accommodating in taking me back to get them. This place is AMAZING! Whenever I wrecked my first car I took it to the first place I could find and it took them WEEKS to fix such a small area of my car. I just got the car I have now last year and someone hit my car in a parking lot a few weeks ago. I took my new car here and was expecting to not have a car for at least 3 weeks but they repaired the entire driver side panel in two days, yes I saidTWO DAYS!!!! I was thrilled! I could not believe they finished such detailed work so fast! Also the staff is very personable and easy to talk to! Scott Austin, in particular, made sure I was happy with the way my car looked before I left the lot and answered all of my questions in detail! John Harris Body Shop is 100% my go to place from now on for any and all repairs for my car! I would recommended them to anyone!

The hood/bumper/grill of my car was damaged due to an accident and I must say my hood/bumper/grill looks amazing! When I pulled into the shop today (06/10/18), all I could do was smile because my car didnt look like it did when I first drove it there. The John Harris staff was great with providing me a status on the repair and Scott was awesome! My air stopped working after the accident and now I will be getting a diagnostic done by the dealership to see if it was caused by the accident or if it just stopped working. The John Harris staff explained what I needed to do and all is well. Thank you John Harris for a job well done!

Edited: Sent 3 emails to the address provided by the ‘owner’ (or the employee who oversees responding to reviews) and no one ever replied. Not even a simple acknowledgement. If you are going to respond to a customer’s negative experience by providing an email address, actually RESPOND and not ignore. — Selected JH Body Shop (Irmo) through State Farm’s recommended partners. Upon taking my car here for estimates on the damage, a JH employee completely shredded my rear hard cover for the spare tire. It was the original branded cover that came with my car. These covers unzip! Instead JH choose to cut through it with a knife...no one notified me or the insurance company. The manager explained that they would put a new one on free of labor charges if I would cover the $170 cost of a new cover. Why would you ask the customer to pay for your company’s wrong doing? JH will not own up to their error and replace my cover. Poor customer service and would not recommend this location.

I was in a wreck on Wednesday and have a good amount of damage to the front driver side of my 2003 VW Beetle. Scott handled my estimate and was so incredibly helpful, as my situation is a bit the road less travelled, as one might say. Im moving next week and am having a really hard time navigating what should be done with my car when and how to get it to Texas. Scott broke down what usually happens with insurance in an easy-to-understand way and was so helpful in general even though my car will likely be rendered a total loss and they wont work on it anyway. Customer service alone would keep me coming back if I werent moving!

Took car with paint scratches on the side for a repair quote. Guy looked at car and came out with some paint thinner and removed all paint scratches at no charge. No need for additional repairs. Happy customer.

I completed the online estimate request, but after two days, heard nothing. So, I called the Irmo location and was told that someone would call me back. Another day has passed with no communication from them. I have now found another body shop to do my repair.UPDATE: They eventually contacted me and asked me to schedule an appointment. By then, I had made other arrangements. My biggest beef with all of this is that I completed the online estimate request, which included sending photos, to expedite the process. Unfortunately, that did not happen in this instance. This is a shame because I initially chose to use them based on a positive prior experience and because of the online estimate request.

I wish there was a zero star option. We picked my moms car up after hitting a deer and we are LESS THAN IMPRESSED. The paint is no where near matching, the gaps around the hood, fender and inner dashboard and passenger door are atrocious. There are places they didn’t paint at all that should have been painted, the glove box does not close flush with The dashboard and when the ATTEMPTED to wash the car they left deer poop from the accident on the back passenger door as well as half of the tires cleaned and the other half streaked and messy looking. This was NOT the quality repair we had hoped for and yes the vehicle is going back to be fixed properly. I’m just wondering what happened to the days of a quality repair done right the first time as this has turned out to be the typical poor body shop experience. I have owned a plethora of sports and exotic cars. JH of Irmo is the ONLY place I feel comfortable taking my vehicles to for honest and professional repairs. If you value feeling important, cared for and understood; then JH is the place for you!

Only had an estimate, but the experience was good. Jose did a great job and was very friendly. Waiting for approval from the insurance company and will hopefully be back for the repairs.

Bad experience. Based on ratio of repair cost to book value of car they kept it a week and would not do the repair. I took it to another shop that did a great job. Charged me an administrative fee for nothing

They kept telling me that they could not get a part for my car because it was made in South America. The problem with that is this car company does not have a manufacturing plant in South America. The window sticker and the vin number indicate that the car was manufactured in South Korea. They were a total waste of my time.

They did a fantastic job repairing my daughters Kia Soul. They estimated that it would be ready on May 29th but they called me on May 15th and told me it was finished. It was completely repaired and looked great. Everyone was very nice and professional and best of all they did quality work.

Nice people and they help you with whatever you need! Job has always been done in a timely and wonderful manner!

Requested info on fixing a leaky sunroof. They took 4 days to call me back to say the part I needed was no longer in stock. What part??? Took it to another place who told me how to fix it for free.

It was an absolutely phenomenal experience from beginning to end!

I was rear ended while on vacation and called John harris Body Shop at the recommendation of my insurance company. I called and met with Scott in the Irmo office I did a very detailed survey of my BMW X5. The shop had the rental car company come to their shop and pick me up to get my rental car. Jody Mount was the lead repair representative and kept in constant contact with me through test messages during the entire repair evolution. There were 16 updates sent during and after the repair. Every step of the process was explained and the dates estimated were met. Wanda in the office was very accommodating when I was not able to directly contact my service representative. I was always called or texted back with the requested information. When trying to settle with the other drivers insurance company Jody sent all the information that allowed me claim to be settled and my deductible paid by the other company. The final results of the repair were very satisfying. There was no evidence of there every being any damage to my vehicle. I would like to comment Jody, Scott and Wanda for there very high quality service. I would recommend John Harris of Irmo to anyone needing auto collision repair.

I GOT A RIDE THERE. I HAD TO WAIT BECAUSE THEY GUY WAS NOT IN HIS OFFICE. I HAD MY RIDE LEAVE SO THEY DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT. HE FINALLY COMES OUT AND NONCHALANTLY SAYS WE DO NOT HAVE ANY CARS. THATS IT!!! I EXPLAINED THAT MY RIDE LEFT. HE DID NOT CARE. LITERALLY JUST LOOKED AT ME AND SAID HE HAS NO CARS. MY RIDE WAS NOT ABLE TO COME RIGHT BACK. I ASKED FOR THE MANAGER’S NUMBER. SO I STARTED WALKING HOME. HE MADE ME FEEL SO STUPID I DID NOT WANT TO EVEN STAND IN THE SMALL OFFICE WITH HIM. THE AUTO BODY SHOP PEOPLE WERE NOT VERY HELPFUL (of course it is not their job).SO I CALL ALLISON AS IM WALKING DOWN THE ROAD. SHE LISTENS TO ME, AND SAYS SHE WILL HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH HIM.
