I would have given this place 1 star, but after my experience with Andy, despite my distaste for this barbershop, he gets his OWN personal star.I arrived at 4 PM on a weekday after speaking to a lady on the telephone. She told me that I was welcome to bring my son in for a haircut, but that there may be a patron ahead of us. I agreed, came into the shop, and I sat down with my son to wait.I patiently watched patrons come and go, and Andy told me that these particular patrons had appointments. This was understandable, and, being a reasonable and prudent person, I awaited service with my 7-year -old son, who has special needs.Well over an hour later, I asked Andy about the wait, and he said that The Real Cut Above mainly operates by appointment, and that I may or may not receive service in a reasonable amount of time.Both as a mother to a child who was rapidly expecting his dinner, (the time was, after all, 5:30), and as a paying AND tipping customer, I was livid. The woman on the phone neglected to communicate this fact when she had me on the line, AND she failed to tell me about the upcharge for bringing my son to the establishment after hours. Her negligence cost me time, and, had I even been unfortunate enough to get service, my hard earned money.The ONLY saving grace for this place was Andy. He was an absolute delight to talk to, he was so kind to both me and my son while we waited in vain, and it was an absolute pleasure to speak to him. He brings sunshine into every room he enters.In all, I will NEVER return to The Real Cut Above, and I will advise others to go elsewhere. They obviously have enough clients and dont need our worthless new client money. Andy tried to accommodate me for another day, but my schedule and patience werent amenable for it. This, again, was in no way, Andys fault. He tried his best.The barber in the back spends too much time loudly talking, lolly gagging, talking about nonsense, and not nearly enough time actually working. I couldnt hear myself think above his noise and the unedited music.This experience was a complete and utter disaster. If you are willing to book Andy, however, I encourage you to tip him a bit more handsomely than the average barber, simply because he offers above-average customer service and he does his humble best.

Took my son here a week ago he got a low fade his hair was cut by a nice young nan name Andy he did a outstanding job we will definitely be returning for hair cuts its closer to were i live and just all around a better hair cut then the previous barber that gave him one...i highly recommended!!

I went here with my daughter to get her 3 boys hair cut and the two barbers did an amazing job. It was clean and when I went to the restroom there I felt like I was at home😅 because the restroom was very clean.

This is a really nice barber shop. The colors are inviting and they dont allow profanity in there. Did I mention the barbers do a really good job?

I took my son there for his first couple of haircuts and it was a great experience both times. We plan to continue to use the real cut above for years to come.

Michelle did a awesome job on the boys hair and was patient with my kiddos! After having a rough time finding someone good to do their hair and not mess it up it was suggested to me to try them and after our experience I would definitely recommend them and for sure Michelle 😄
