I was a first time customer an I had an appointment yesterday evening. I didn’t know what to expect; But I wasn’t disappointed. My barber was Jacob. He made my cut look fresh and very good customer service, and let me just say he got himself a new client. I totally recommend this barbershop and barber.

My overall takeaway is be very careful in your choice of stylist, some are definitely not as good as others. It can have a big impact on your overall experience.Ive been going here for years because theyre generally professional and give high quality cuts. However, I unfortunately found out recently that the quality here is inconsistent.The stylist was running 35 minutes behind the stated appointment time. There was also apparently a lot of confusion in understanding what I actually wanted because I ended up with a haircut nowhere near what I actually requested. It was to the point that I received negative comments about it the next day. I was also not offered a straight razor neck shave by this stylist, like I have been every other time Ive gone here. For the price I would expect better.

This place is way overpriced for the quality of hair cuts I saw. I got a 10 minute haircut and even with clippers, my sides are crooked. Everything in here is dirty and old including the furniture. As I travel through Louisville monthly, Ill go back to my stylist there that only charges $30 plus I get a shampoo/conditioner, hot towel, scalp massage, shoulder massage, scissor cut and neck shave. And their facility is spotless. I cannot recommend 4:59.

I went there for the first time today, was excited given it seemed like a great(fancier than the places I’m used to going) place, and reviews were amazing, only to have a just okay experience. It was rushed, took less than 15 minutes and didn’t feel there was any attention to detail. I don’t think the end result/ haircut was bad, but I have gotten such haircuts at great clips and those haven’t costed $50. And I constantly had to mention what was needed to be done, Anyways I usually go to Sports Clips on keystone and leave much happier than I did today.

Great experience, even for a newbie customer. Need a change? Want a legit shave or an awesome cut? This is the place!

4:59 barberlounge provides a wonderful customer experience from the time you step foot in the door. The haircuts are top notch and the consistency is there each time. Every person that cuts hair here is qualified, but I have an easy haircut overall I must mention. It is on the higher end in terms of price, but the results and experience are top notch, too.

The woman who does the shaving does a great job but smells like cigarettes

This is the only place Ill get my hair cut. I dont want to go to a salon that specializes in womens hairstyles, and I dont want a cookie cutter sport clips experience. This place caters to exactly what Im looking for; good service, nice haircuts, not crazy expensive. Its always nice to go in and get new advice on styling and products, too. I liked a product they used on my hair after they cut it, and I found some online to buy. Great way to try out hair products that you cant find in box chain stores.

I asked twice for 1/2 inch taken off and the back and sides trimmed a little. The first thing the hair stylist did was take the clippers and cut off an inch on the back. In the end at least 2-3 inches were cut off the top of my head. I am upset that I was ignored about how I wanted my haircut and lost at least 6 months of progress of growing my hair out. I wish they would be more conservative of how much they start to take off and pay attention to what the customer wants and was clearly communicated.

Very great service. You can either make appointments or just do walk-ins. Every time is a bit different, because each barber tends to have their own style and do things a bit differently but always does it the way you want it done. They also tell you about the products they use and how you can get some if you really like it. Quite the experience.

I have received, so far, 2 fantastic haircuts and a beard trim. The hair dressers are great at conversation unlike some places where youre stuck with awkward small talk or uncomfortable silence. They have clearly honed their skills. And as if that wasnt enough this place takes their customer service very seriously. I cant imagine wanting to go anywhere else. Its well worth the price. I will be moving soon and will be making the 30 minute drive just to go here.

Amazing haircut, tips and tricks, shampoo, neck massage, and all around great vibe.Second visit: lady did not greet me with her name, felt detracted from conversation, no neck massage, and unfortunately did not line up my fade at ALL. It looked like I had a crumbling mountain around my head. I will only call and ask for Elise from now on because I wanted $35 for what should have been a grade A haircut and atmosphere and now I just feel like trash with a buzzcut.EDIT 1: Came back per request of management and let me say: There are way more good apples here than bad. Not that any particular person here is bad, youve just got to find someone who understands you and your hair. This is styled as an upscale Mens Salon in the Keystone Crossing area. It has a good location. The front desk team is very effective, and making appointments here and getting reminders works very well. The staff is friendly, and they have generally high quality stylists.The reception area could use a little updating. The couches are a bit worn. But overall it is a good experience yes. But do expect to pay for higher-end haircuts.

Ive been coming here for a several months and its never a disappointment. This place treats you very well and fully suggest coming here. I had Laura do my hair today, and while other stylists did well, Laura nailed this cut. Its perfect!

MAY 2021 EDIT: There appears to be new ownership and prices have been increased again. The every two week haircut discount is almost the same price that normal haircuts used to be ($32) and the normal haircut is $40. I love my cuts here, but theres not a haircut in the world worth $40, especially to just have trimmers ran on the sides of your head. This is an attempt to run an authentic barbershop with salon-style pricing, and it doesnt make sense. 5-star workers, 1-star owners/business decisions.EDIT: Since the initial review, Ive been informed that they offer an every two weeks cut club which drops the rate per haircut to $24. It would still be a five star review if they offered free touch-ups between cuts, but four stars for now.This would have been an easy five stars if not for their pricing policies.Pros: superb service, incredibly knowledgeable (and patient, for those of us unsure of how to style our hair) staff, and all around a great experience every time Ive been in. Ive had haircuts from multiple people here, and been pleased every time.Con: Pricing. If Im paying $40-45 for a haircut (with tip) each time I come in for a cut, its bonkers to think Im going to pay $10 for a touch-up that includes nothing but a razor on the back of my neck and trim around the ears, with no shampoo or anything else. These are things I can do at home, but I like to go to my barber to have them done as a part of the experience. Every other barber Ive been to offers this for free, or at least throws in a shampoo and some hair product, so you dont walk out with hair on you for the rest of the day.This is a great barber shop for those that are making more money than they know how to spend, or for a one-off experience for the rest of the population when they want to treat themselves after a bonus check or holiday gift. I love it, but, as I said, not with these pricing policies. Unfortunate.

Great, talented, professional staff (shout out to Laura Ramsey) with good pricing. If you get your hair cut every two weeks like I do, you can even get a discount. The additional luxuries like a hair wash and straight razor shave on the neck are just added bonuses. I highly recommend stopping in.

Its a good place to go to feel pampered. Not so much of a barber feel if youre looking for that type. Think of a Supercuts, with extras, and focused on men.

I have been a customer for close to 5 years now. It took me several tries to find the right stylist, but Elizabeth has done really well for me. Staff is very personable and friendly. I really like the phone call I receive the day before my appointment. A little bit expensive, but well width the price. Highly recommend it.

Great place for sure

First time customer - won’t be back. I booked a shave and a haircut a beard trim and a scalp tratememt. I got there and the stylist tells me she can’t do a straight razor and proceeds to give me a buzz cut all around my head and face and then barely trims my goatee - not even offering to trim the actual length or to line it up properly (my mustache is longer on one side than the other) and I received no scalp treatment, at all unless a normal shampoo counts. To make matters worse, I get back in the chair after the shampoo and she pulls out a straight razor to do the back of my neck (I thought she couldn’t use one of those???). So I get to the checkout, expecting to AT LEAST receive the 20% off for being a first time customer but, you guessed it, nope. Full price. Dude didn’t even bother to ask - or really say much of anything. Extremely disappointed all around.Update:The owner contacted me immediately and took care of everything. They got me back in, got me the service I wanted - completely on them - and it was fantastic! I will be a repeat customer many more times to come.

Dont get me wrong, I love the atmosphere and the stylists are always pleasant...but for $35 dollars, you think you would get a free touch up in between a once every 4 week haircut. Not so any more....they now want an additional $10 for a 5 minute neck trim. Really a nickel and dime tactic that has turned off a 5 year customer

I wished I werent in rush to go to unknown place.I couldnt set an appointment with my salon at Chicago becouse of job requirements that my husband and I are here for some weeks..so I had to go to this salon for Touch up and hair cut My hair was bleached and was platinum.My husband asked for baberhis hair is too shortas well. At the result we been charged $210 for dark yellow root at front and light and spotty at back, with an uneven haircut. After backing home I realized she has damaged my hoodie by bleaching. I contacted them to fix the problem and the store owner Mike sat me another appointment, I drove from Chicago to Salon..I asked Dana to Trim my hair and she did it unwillingly and surprisingly shortened again. She changed the dark yellow roots to light that was good but unfortunately she covered my entire platinum hair by silver color which I hate Silver.They didnt apologized me. When I showed the damaged hoodie to Store owner I just recieved a Cold Sorry. It is true that I am not American but it doesnt mean I am stupid and I dont know my rights.They behaved me like I am a stranger who is wasting their time and supplies. Atmosphere was too unfriendly that I just wanted to leave that place immediately. I am sorry for myself that I chose this place..Now it is your turnt New Customer to burn your money and wishes...

Best haircut Ive ever had. Absolutely awesome staff and my stylist was very sweet and professional. Number one spot to me.

I was looking for a barber not a stylist, and for me no amount of authentic barber nostalgia will take away from that. Haircuts are $32 not including tax and tip, which is the most expensive barbershop haircut Ive had. If you are looking for a dressed up great clips feel free to try this place out, however if you are just looking for a barber who can cut mens hair this isnt that place.

This is by far the best barbershop I have found in the area. All of the stylists are topnotch and really focus on the little details.It is a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for.

My 5 stars are for Sherri because shes the absolute best. Im terrible at describing how I want my hair cut and had a bit of anxiety about finding a new barber since I moved to town. Sherri is one of those magical stylists who just knows what you need and makes you look good. There are plenty of places that are closer to me in Fishers but Ill keep making the drive down to 4:59 because that cut is that good. Dont go to Supercuts and get a clowncut-pay a little more and go see Sherri. 100% worth it.

$35 for a Mens Haircut, Shampoo, and Style. You get a boutique haircut and style for a fraction of the price of a lot of top rated Salons (Eg. DL Lowry Salon or Salon Lofts, which prices vary by stylist) in the area. As someone who is generally kind of terrified of going to a new shop for a hair cut, the atmosphere is calming and energizing. Stephanie A. has been absolutely awesome to work with. Personally love the Gage product they carry. Definitely my go to place for hair from here on out. Will likely be trying the massage services shortly and will update.
