Great people to deal with I called in for a wiring issue didnt have time to get the vehicle in at this time actually we adjusted harness and I think Ive got it fixed for now need to actually order a pigtail to make it better repair

I went here last week to have a diagnostic performed for a check engine light. When I called I was told $105 (Nothing additional). Mind you, when I walked in there was a sign that stated diagnostics/checks would be $65-$105. I dropped my van off on a Thursday morning around 8a. I didn’t receive a phone call at all on Thursday. I called on Friday around 11a for an update and was told it was hooked up to their machine and I would receive a call back once they were done. I received a call around 3:30 and was told they couldn’t figure anything out after it was hooked up to their machine and was also told it would $340 to complete the diagnosis and they wanted to keep it over the weekend until Monday/Tuesday according to the mechanic on the phone. I told them never mind and paid the $105. It was literally a waste of time and money since nothing was resolved/accomplished from their diagnosis. I would not recommend their service
The labor is to expensive. I know I need a catalytic converter on my vehicle I will not let them do it the labor will eat up my pocket. I will go back to safehaven. Bad enough I was charged 105.00 for a relay switch. Didnt call to say what was wrong before they put it on.

After reading some reviews, I decided to call to feel the place out for myself. Guy wanted to charge me $63 just to take a look at it. Supposedly that would then count towards the final bill, but I was not getting good vibes about it, so I decided not to go. As I didnt actually get any service done, Im giving them the benefit of the doubt with 3 stars. But I feel it says a lot about them that I dont feel comfortable even coming in the door.
Believe all the bad reviews on Stans! I wish I had read them before I took my car there. This place is the WORST! I had to take my car back for the THIRD TIME for the SAME THING! Each time, it was something new causing the SAME issue. Their customer service is absolutely non-existent! They tried to keep my vehicle over the weekend and werent even going to call and tell me. I called to get a status, and they said, oh, we didnt get the part, so its going to be Monday. I asked them to put the car back together so I could have it for the weekend as this is my only mode of transportation, and was assured they would have the part on Monday and be able to fix it then. So I took the car back at 8:00 on Monday. By 4:30, had not heard a single thing from them, so I called to let them know I was on my way to pick it up, but was told AGAIN that it would not be done until Tuesday! I asked again if they could put it back together so I could drive it and was told that was not possible. I live out of town and this is my sole means of transportation. So 5 days and $150 in Lyft bills later, and they tell me this time its fixed. Ill believe it when I see it.I was also told by the owner that theyre too busy working on 45 - 50 other things to call people to let them know the status of their vehicle. This seems strange since whenever Ive been there, theyre always standing around and the parking lot is always empty. But I can see why theyre too busy when they have to work on a vehicle 2 and 3 times to get it right! Doesnt matter - they will NEVER see my face or my bank card again!
I paid them $100 for my car to just sit in the lot for an hour. They didnt even tell me what was wrong. Dont go here.
I would never take my car back there. Something is draining my battery....they charge me $209 to do a diagnostic test ......I was told they had no idea what is draining my battery told me it was ok. The car work 4 days and Im still having the same problem. I call again to let them know I having the same prob..... I was told bring it in for another DX test for $105. The devil is a lie. I would not recommend this place. Stay away
I would not give them a star if I could. The quoted me one price even gave me a worse Case scenario. Then when I had an $80 toll given they came back with double the price.The even came up and said I needed a part that as it turned out I did not need and on top of that the part that they said I did not need was one they were gonna move anyway so they were gonna charge me extra to put a part on that they had to put back on anyway $50 more. Dont use them I had used them years ago in had a wonderful experience now I dont even wanna go past their place where they are located. They give auto shops a bad name.
This place took full advantage of me!!! They replaced my fuse box and charged me almost $600 for the work. Fine ok. 2 days later my wipers stopped working. I went back and they told me it would be a $400 fix!!!! I went to auto zone and got the wiper switch for $45 and it took a guy literally under 5 minutes to replace it!! They were trying to rip me off yet again out of another $400 for a $50 fix. Who knows how much cheaper having that fuse box replaced could have been. So disappointed and never going back to this place!

I have no connection with this place, but I am very pleased with the service and honesty. They tested my generator and voltage regulator And offered to do further testing for only $57, while the competition wanted to charge me $250. Problem has been solved. Thank you!

Im always impressed by the way they keep me informed on whats going on and how knowledgeable they are! If you want fast, dependable service in a friendly/caring atmosphere, and security in knowing you wont be overcharged, this is the place!
They know auto electrics thats a tough field
I was told I could bring my car for a diagnostics test and that I didnt need an appointment unless I was dropping it off, the following day I arrived before 1030am on a Friday and they said they were short staffed but I could leave it to get a diagnostics on Monday?! Who wants to leave their car all weekend unattended? Not cool

I received auto service repair from Stans Auto Electric and within 3 months after my service was completed the same areas in which I had issues failed again. I contacted Stans and addressed my issue with one of their employees and was told the appropriate person would contact me. I then waited a little longer than I should have and when I did call back I was told there was nothing to be done regarding my failed service through their company.I explained to the employee that I lived about 45 minutes away and I was unable to come back and forth and wanted to speak with someone that could give me solid information regarding my vehicle being fixed properly. I was still told there was nothing they would do.At this point Im out of hundreds of dollars for failed repairs with a company I trusted to service my vehicle.I will never go back to Stans and hope no one else goes there and experience the same issues I did.Its very hurtful as a young woman to experience these type of issues in the auto service industry in which I have little knowledge in and could have been taking advantage of.I advise anyone reading this review to take sincere consideration in this complaint, due to I rarely take the time to share my review, especially when its related to a complaint, but this was a very bad experience and overall poor service.
These guys charged me $320 to replace a starter on my car. Charged me 2 hours of labor when it should have been maybe 1 hour. Bad attitudes all around. Took my car there again another time because I couldnt figure out what was draining my battery. Said it was the lock switch on my door. After replacing it and taking 4 days to do so, $377!! These guys act like they dont want to work. Not worth the time or money. DO NOT GO HERE!
Fix my vehicle the right way
This place is absolutely horrible! The staff was very disrespectful and had a bad attitude. I brought my car to them and they told me my cars computer was bad and I needed a new one I paid then almost 800 to fix it waited almost 3 weeks for them to get the part for them to tell me thats not the problem and they need another 85$ to look at it again. Plus whatever needs to be done I would have to pay again....thats bull they are very unprofessional dont go there cuz u will be disappointed! And ready to smack one of them!!!

Do your research. I needed to replace the Central Timing Module on my 2003 Durango. They tried to charge me $150 for the part plus $450 for labor. I went to Pick A Part and got the CTM for $15.99 and it took me less than 5 minutes to install it. They know theyre the only electric shop so they can take advantage of you if youre naive.
Had a short in radio that killed battry ovrnite..they found problem when even Ford couldnt find...they know their stuff
This place is a complete rip off. They couldnt fix my car. Charged me 250.00 and refused to reimburse my money. I had to take my car to the dealer to have them fix it correctly. I DONT ADVISE TO USE THEM. EVER.
All the staff and techs have always fixed my problems and know what theyre doing. Cost has been very acceptable, 25 years going to them with mystery electric power problems in limos.
I took my 2007 Ford f250 6.0l I had no dash or running lights they said I need a new wiring harnes for 230.15 I said ok I got my truck back in 2 hours they worked for a couple miles then stoped again so I took it back they said we found more shorts we will fix I said ok a hour later done and works fine today but after taking a look for myself they did nothing but tape up some wires and pulled one so the damaged wire would not touch so 230.15 for tape and not letting it touch the frame crap work never will go back ever again
Dont even think about it. I was going through my glove box today and found an old receipt from Stans and the whole terrible encounter came flooding back.Its 2011. I am about to leave on a the biggest road trip of my Pontiac Vibes life, and boom: a headlight goes out. My usual place, Castleton CarX, told me that the headlight was still good and the real problem was electrical. So the day before I left I found myself at Stans, a bit desperate, and maybe it showed, because the series of events that were triggered on that fateful day are textbook examples of shady mechanics take advantage of a lady with no knowledge of cars. They said I just needed a new headlight, and oh, a new battery. That was news to me but I took their word for it. Total it set me back $230, which is the most Ive ever spent for such services.Everything was okay, albeit expensive, until a month later when my car started.... Not starting. It couldnt be the battery (because I had just had that replaced!) so I feared it was going to be something much more expensive. I called AAA for a jump, headed to the Castleton CarX, and awaited what I thought would be a grim and very costly diagnosis. The problem turned out to be (drumroll please)... THE BATTERY. Not only was the battery THE WRONG TYPE for my car, but the CarX mechanic speculated that it had already been USED when it was installed.Okay, so I was a little salty, but I had paid $100 for the battery alone plus an exorbitant labor fee, so I went back to Stans and asked for them to replace it. The mechanic was gone with my car for at least an hour, after which he returned and said he hadnt replaced the battery because the battery wasnt the problem, nooooo, there was something else wrong with my car, something that would take more time to repair. He asked me to come back tomorrow so he could fix the real problem. Well you can bet I got the heck outta dodge, cut my losses, and never went back.I went to Autozone the next day and bought a new battery for $80 and replaced it myself. And my car has been a champ ever since. If you respect your wallet and your vehicle please learn from my mistakes and stay far away from this place!

Ive taken various vehicles to Stans and while they are not always the cheapest, they are great when it comes to finding and fixing weird electrical problems that have left other repair centers stumped. I would highly recommend them.
I took my van there on Saturday the window wouldnt go down I told them I was going to sale the van so I wasnt going to put a lot in it so when I go back to get it they said it needs a regulator I said I wasnt going to put that much in it they said they already ordered it would be there Monday I said forget it paid for checking it out left on the way home tried it it worked till I sold it no regulator installed

My grandpa works here he’s the manager his has been diagnosed with Agent orange heart disease his heart is at 60% and if it gets any lower he could die I would like it if you put your negativity somewhere else it’s definitely does not belong here and half the hate comments are coming from people with messed up cars no one could fix it’s called get a new car
Took my car in on Friday and was told to bring it back Saturday morning. I brought it back Saturday morning and was told they couldnt get to it. They then told me to call on Wednesday and once again I was told they couldnt get to it. SMH... CUSTOMER SERVICE TERRIBLE!!!
