Would be five stars except they are still working on things. Beautiful upgrades.

Seriously easy going place. Very chill. Elevators are kinda creepy, but other than that its your average income apartment complex. I have no bad neighbors and everything about the place runs so smoothly.

Edgewater was great! The building had its pros and cons, but I would recommend this place to anyone. I lived at Edgewater for a year. When I first moved in they were just beginning the first stages of renovating. As time went on, I knew the rent was going to go up. They simply were making too many good improvements to keep rent at the current rate. I was sad to see it was no longer in my budget, but not bitter about it. I wish them well!Cons First:-There are the occasional fairs/festivals held in the park next door, which can add complications to coming and going when they are in session. Plus side, you get VIP parking to the events!-Laundry can be expensive. I was lucky to have family close by so I didn’t have to worry about this.-Elevators are a bit sketchy, but make it exciting! I got stuck twice on the elevators, one time for 6mins. I did have to take the stairs maybe a handful of times because it would not respond.-Honestly, that’s about it for the cons!Pros for Last:-Pet friendly! (I recommend getting one, you’ll feel left out lol)-Close enough to the main strip of Broad Ripple that you can walk, but far enough away they you don’t have to deal with all the chaos.-Next to the river!-So close to the Monon Trail-The building manager is very timely, honest, and keeps his word.-I had a leak once. I texted the building manager. Someone was there before the text even sent (somewhat sarcastic, but they really were timely). Additionally, they were honest as to “when” the issue would be fixed (if it meant that day or a later date).-my one bedroom balcony was freaking sweet!-Neighbors were friendly and welcoming!-I lived in a one bedroom: plenty of closet space, bedroom was “smaller” than other bedrooms I saw but still very nice. Kitchen was a great size for me. Big sliding doors give you plenty of natural light, and a good view of the night sky!-Plenty of parking.I wish Edgewater the best and look forward to returning in the future!

I lived in the Edgewater for three and a half years. Overall, it was a good experience and I was happy there. The Good:- The maintenance man is awesome. He lives onsite, so getting problems fixed was a fast and easy process. Often he would come help me within minutes. He is a huge bonus to the Edgewater.- Quiet and nice views, especially if you live on the side that faces east. I loved the view of the Indianapolis Art Center grounds and the river.- Location, location, location. Two blocks from the Monon, walking distance to Broad Ripple. Overall its a very walkable and bikeable area.- Price. Not expensive and a great value for the area.- Neighbors. Except for the occasional bad apple, the neighbors were mostly quiet and friendly.- Nice pool. Unfortunately it’s only open Memorial Day through Labor Day, but it’s nice, relaxing, clean, and not too chlorine-y.- Pleasant, reasonable managers. They were helpful with dealing with loud or unpleasant residents. Also, though I lost part of my deposit, it was pretty fair for how little time I had to clean before moving out.- Safe. Despite some crime in the area (and see my comment about theft in the “Bad” section below), I overall felt safe in the Edgewater. It’s nice to have two sets of locked doors protecting you from the outside!- Convenient laundry. There are two sets of machines on each floor. No need to leave the building!- Plenty of parking, and the option of garage parking. The Bad- Cost of doing laundry. The price went up and up to $2 per load - so $4 to wash then dry your clothes! Luckily the machines are pretty big, but still!- Lack of updates. The apartments aren’t exactly in disrepair but definitely aren’t luxury and badly need some renovations. Prepare yourself for an outdated kitchen, old appliances (though our dishwasher got upgraded after the old one broke), our buzzer never worked, leaky faucets, poor repaint jobs… There’s a lot of variety among apartments, though.- Lack of lounge chairs at the pool. The older ones would break and not get replaced. On hot summer days, there weren’t enough to go around.- Starlings. They nest in the rafters and make a racket and poop all over your balcony. Of course, the Edgewater can’t really control this.- Sketchy elevators. They are quirky at best and scary at worst. I literally sometimes prayed not to drop to my death.- Crime in area. Two of my bikes got stolen from the garage over the course of living in the Edgewater. This is not directly the Edgewater’s fault (some garage parker left the garage door open on one occasion), and they in fact responded to a garage break-in by adding cameras. Just be careful, and store your bike/valuables in your apartment and not in the garage!
