I love how thorough Dr. Machen is! She always gives the best care! I especially love that she explains to me what is going on in my mouth in a respectful and clear way that I can understand. And she thoroughly explains what treatments are available (if needed). I can tell that she really cares about her patients because of the considerate way she treats me every time. One time she was worried about something in my mouth (I cant remember what) and so she wanted to take an x ray, but told her I didnt want to because I wasnt sure if my insurance would cover them. She was so kind about it, and even told me that she wouldnt charge me for the x rays if my insurance didnt cover them. She is super knowledgeable and always does top notch work!

I will not go back to this place!!! Dentist is out for what they can get into their pocket. They do not look out for your best interest or your wallet!! I now have to go to a different dentist and have them redo what the dentist here did! All I get are excuses of why something went wrong! I think dentist need video cams to show that they are not the ones at fault. How are we suppose to know if they made a mistake and are just saying what ever they need to say to cover them? Finding a good reliable dentist is hard. So I have given you my input! Save money by going somewhere else. I have been going here for 4 years and I havent had a lot of major work done, but the major work that has been done has not been good. Hell they dont even care that they loose a patient of 4 years either.

They worked well and fast with me. They knew I was limited on time for my appointment and got me in right away. Thanks for all you folks do! :)

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Machen for many years now and we would go to no one other. I am 70 years old and have had many dentists do things that ran from major work to simple check up. My wife and my kids have experienced the same things. Because of my experiences, for many years I had an extreme distrust and dislike for dentists until I started going to Dr. Machen. She is extremely capable, professional and takes the time to explain things in an easy to understand way. She always presents options to problems and is good about giving you the information you need to make an informed decision. She understands the financial impacts and is willing to work with you.My daughter was traumatized by a local dentist and had refused to see any dentist. When she became and adult, I convinced her to see Dr. Machen for a simple checkup and cleaning. She did and learned that she had 4 impacted wisdom teeth that needed to come out. Based on her first experience with Dr. Machen and her staff, she decided to have the procedure performed. She trusted Dr. Machen enough to have her do it in one sitting. My daughter, at the time, lived on Ogden, UT and drove all the way to Idaho Falls to get it done.Dr. Machen and her staff are THE BEST and I would give her the highest recommendations. She cares about people, puts their welfare first, and is highly skilled. Her staff is professional, friendly and knows how to put you at ease. I respect her, I admire her dedication, and most importantly, I trust her. So can you.

The doctor is fine. However billing services have taken a turn down. They hired new billing services. To contact the billing you have to call and leave a message and wait for two days for them to call back. When I get a return call from the billing I am usually at work or traveling and unable to have a constructive conversation. It seems that a lot of double billing frequently occur and it is very difficult to get it fixed. I am not impressed with the survice.

These are very nice people, but Dr. King took out a crown and then said he couldnt rebuild it.Should of would have left it alone. Now its going to cost more money. He seems as if hes scared to do anything. The office manager is kinda not so nice.

I have always had great anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. I had some bad experiences growing up and to be honest put it off as an adult for a ridiculous amount of time. I had a friend refer me to Machen Dentistry and I was so impressed. I was welcomed and felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. Dr. King realized right away I was a bit anxious and asked me what they could do to make my experience better. When it was time to have some work complete I had a warm blanket on, tv, the gas and any concerns or questions I had answered and met! I definitely recommend Dr. King and plan to make him my ongoing dentist!

Our family had a marvelous, knock-it-out-of-the-park dentist for decades and when he retired, we didnt think we could find someone to fill his shoes. Dr Esther Machen has done this and taken it up a notch :).Shes smart as a whip and extremely capable. Her kindness and empathy goes an awfully long way with us.Our son was involved in a terrible mishap while at a college baseball clinic, he took a line drive right in the mouth. His jaw was broken along with several of his teeth in addition to losing his front tooth completely. Not a great thing for a handsome young man. The first call I made was to Dr Machen-I wanted to ensure we were doing everything right the first time. Hes fine and has healed beautifully but Dr Machen keeps a close watch on him and monitors his current condition. That incident was frightening but this sweet, thoughtful and adept doctor was so utterly terrific and really helped us through.Were giant fans of Esther Machen! Giant!

I first learned about Dr. Machen from a billboard I had seen while driving through Idaho Falls. Since I was new to the area and in need of a dentist, I decided to call and make an appointment. From the first call I made the staff were extremely courteous and accommodating to my needs. They were able to collect my basic information over the phone so there was minimal paperwork upon arrival. The office staff greeted me immediately upon arrival and within a couple of minutes was escorted to the exam room. Once in the exam area my hygienist introduced herself and her assistant and performed a thorough exam. There were never any surprises as to what would be done or what sensations should be expected. I was also very happy to find current technology being used at every opportunity, from the ultrasonic cleaning device to the digital x-rays and digital photos taken from inside the oral cavity. Once the hygienist had completed the cleaning, Dr. Machen came in and completed the exam and reviewed all of the findings with me using the digital x-rays and photos that had been taken. After all of the findings were discussed with me, Dr. Machen presented several treatment options for me to consider and answered any questions that I had concerning each.Overall, my trip to see Dr. Machen and her professional staff was very pleasant. Dr Machen herself has a nice combination of professional expertise and excellent bedside manor.

The entire staff at Machen Family Medicine are amazing. I felt taken care of the entire visit. They make you feel like you can ask them anything. This is the most caring dentistry office in Idaho Falls.

Do not see Dr. King. His is very impersonal and seems like he just wants to get his job over with. I did not have a good experience with him. Dr. Machen however, could not be sweeter. She is kind and takes the time to really understand your concerns and actually listens. She enjoys her job and takes time to make sure it’s done well. She double checks all her work and makes sure your satisfied before you leave. She’s very friendly I don’t think you’d find a better dentist anywhere else! I had a cavity on the left side of my mouth in between teeth and after months of being told it’s too small to do anything by another dentist (Willamette dental) and not being able to even eat on the left side of my mouth due to the pain and discomfort it caused, Dr. Machen took care of it and filled it perfectly. Even a day later I was eating just fine and I couldn’t be happier with her work.

From the front staff to the Hygienists to Dr. Machen, they are all fantastic.I feel Dr. Machen has the highest integrity when it comes to your health and dental care.

Very pleased with how they treated me and the work they did. I chipped my tooth the night before and when I called they got me an appointment right away. Dr. King was the one that did the work and he had great bedside manner and did an excellent repair job.

My crown fell off Friday night and I called Machen Dental’s emergency number. Dr. King promptly called me back and scheduled a time to meet the following morning. He took the time to help me on a holiday weekend. He also took the time to take X-rays and to do a thorough examination in order to determine how to best help me. Dr. King is not only a skilled dentist, he is also a kind and caring person. I strongly recommend that you give Machen Family Dentistry a try!
