Internet connection has been sporadic throughout the time Ive had WOW. There were sometimes month-long stretches when streaming services would simply not work and content would be buffering every few minutes at a time.Customer service is also atrocious. Recently Ive had to move out of my apartment and was trying to cancel my service. First I tried the phone line which cut off abruptly. Tried calling again only for my account information I entered into the automated phone tree not to be recognized. I then tried to go to the physical office when I had time only to find that in-person service is no longer available due to COVID-19 (amazing how like every other business in the area has managed to adjust with minimal risk to employees or guests). Then I tried logging into my account and using the support chat feature, only to be directed once again to the phone line because apparently they cant handle cancellations over the internet. As far as I know I have yet to even interact with a human employee.Just go out of business and spare people this misery.
Been with wow for 5 years and just switched to fiber for increased speed. Internet went out only once in that time and only for a few hours. Only had to deal with customer service once and they were polite and professional (keep in mind, I was as well). Would definitely recommend to anyone new to the area.
Internet is down for the third time in less than a week. This is worse than normal, and unacceptable as I upgraded my plan recently and we’ve not noticed improvement. C’mon Wow, get with it.
Closed my account in August, and they said theyd send me a box to return my equipment and to expect it in 5-7 days. September 8th, I received a FINAL NOTICE stating I was going to be charged $300 for not returning my equipment. I ended up going to their 10th Ave location in Huntsville, only to find that the front office is closed. So, I get WOW on the phone and while on the phone, dropped off all the equipment. Amazingly enough, even though its been 2 weeks, they still have not received my equipment. BTW, I just got the Fedex box on the 21st. A month later.
We scheduled a service call due to our internet being out from a lightning strike. After waiting on hold for over an hour multiple times we got an appt time. We left a family visit early so we could be home for the technician never showed! Called WOW only to be told that he came by and no one was home. Not only were we home but we were in our front yard during the time he claimed to come by. This was a complete lie! We only learned this info after calling and waiting on hold forever. Now we are stuck waiting for days more without internet. This company is horrible. If you have another option, use it! I would give zero stars if I could.
Theyre expensive diffenatly not worth it.Theyre service goes down every day or every couple days their customers service is terrible. If they send someone to troubleshoot the issue expect your Bill to increase by 100.00 dollars for absolutely no work done Ridicules! They use to provide good service
Out standing service! Super fast internet for very low prices.
Absolutely the worst customer service. I upgraded my internet ask for the total amount I would pay each month. The bill had NEVER been what I was told. Every time I call it’s like an hour or more to try and get it resolved. They keep promising it’s fixed but it never is.
I wish I could change to Comcast. They are the only game in town that provides 1G service to my neighborhood, and they know it. And the competence (or lack thereof) of the customer service reps reflects it. Their only saving grace is the tech that was sent to my house knows whats up.
I have been without wow security for over a month‼️Talked over 7 different customer service people. Each one of them give me a different reason, tonight I get someone else been on the phone for 2 hours or more. Gets disconnected and don’t even get a call back even though he asks for a good call back number. I feel like I’m being scammed by wow. Been with them too long for this to be going on. I’m so unhappy with this, apparently they changed my plan and did tell me so now they want to change it but it will cost me more? Are you kidding me?
I dont know how many times I have been disconnected from LiveChat, but its happened at least 4 times today alone. Paying for 500 mbps, but consistently getting less than 100 mbps download speed. Seems like a somewhat straight forward fix, but after hitting any roadblocks, LiveChat reps seem to just cancel the chat rather than figure out whats going on.
Please if you can go somewhere else to get internet and cable please do! I have to have this base on the location I live in, and I hate dealing with them!
LESS THAN ONE STAR!!! I have been without internet service on numerous occasions. I asked for a refund and WoW elected to give me a few bucks to pacify me. Im very disappointed in what they gave me for not having a product I pay them to provide on a continuous basis. Furthermore, they (customer service) refused to give me a supervisor to speak with, which I find UNACCEPTABLE.! How do I give you less than one star?
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! Used them for years. Never had any issue. Moved away and cancelled my service. I mailed back all their equipment. Fast forward three months .... they reported me to the credit bureau for “not returning equipment “. No warning whatsoever. Claim they never got it. Ok fine. Then tell me you never got it and I’ll pay the damn 200 dollars. Don’t ruin my credit record of 20 years with no warning whatsoever. Will never use them again.
Been with WOW, formerly known as Knology, for 17 years. Price increases have done me in. New customers get great deals, loyal customers just get more increases. I’m out. Cutting the cord and gonna stream.
Absolutely terrible from start to finish. They keep sending me bills. This has happened twice since I disconnected. Completely incompetent. I’m going to have to pay these bills most likely because they never get anything right and I don’t want to affecting my credit score. NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES!!!’
Just the worse all around. Its really sad they have a monopoly here in Huntsville.
Service is completely unreliable. Cable and internet frequently went out due to their outdated infrastructure and equipment. The final straw was last summer when our internet was going out everyday around noon because the lines were overheating, so the internet would come back on until the evening when it cooled down, but it would be out again everyday around noon like clockwork when it started to get really hot. It took almost 2 weeks of calling pretty much everyday for the issue to be resolved which is ridiculous for the amount of money that they charge. We now pay much less for way more reliable service with another provider, who also has much better customer service.
I am a decade long customer of wow. I started out with their phone and internet when they were under Knology. I recently needed to call customer service regarding a billing issue. I pay my bill on time every month as it is automatically drafted each month. I also wanted to access my monthly bill as it was tied to an old email that had been deactivated without my knowledge. When I asked about setting up accessing my monthly bill I was told since the old email was deactivated I would need to create a new account. While I was on the phone with customer service I was unable to create a new account as it was a problem on their end and I should try back later. Almost 1 week later I still cant access my bill or create a new account. As soon as a decent replacement becomes available I will be looking to change providers who can actually give me the service I am paying for. Customer service was of no help other than telling me to wait a day or so and try again.
I used their service only for a few months. While using the service, the speed was slower than what they promised me. When I upgraded, I finally got the promised speed, but at a much higher cost than I had originally agreed to.If it were only that, the service would be alright. However, after canceling my service and moving away, I was told that everything was taken care of. To my surprise, I discovered they were still charging my account. After recancelling my account, I was informed that the router had to be returned or another charge would be placed against me. I had already moved out of this apartment two months earlier far away, so that was an impossibility. At the end of the day, I know they must be compensated, but I was lied to. They consistently step back on their word, and have been extremely difficult. I would rather do business with anyone other than them. Stay as far away from them as possible.
No email activity since 27 May. Called this morning and was told the email will be out until 3 June. Never received any information on the outage. I am totally unsatisfied with WOW. This is the last time I will deal with this service. Looking for another internet providers ASAP.
If I could give them a negative score I would. Awful internet, uncompetitive pricing, and poor customer service. Avoid at all cost. -5/5 stars
Subpar equipment, flaky technicians throwing their own employees under the bus; and an internet signal that drops harder and faster than any EDM concert alive is what you’re in for when signing up for this bad boy. Make sure you work from home and have a couple kids doing virtual school before you commit to two years of their product or else you won’t experience the full disappointment factor. The added bonus (at no additional charge!) is if you set their modem near your Christmas tree in December, you’ll have extra red lights adding to the seasonal cheer.
Cancelled the service due to superior alternatives. Account was set to auto payment, but they chose not to draft the last remaining balance payment and without any attempt to communicate with us placed us with an outside agency for collection. We never had any late payments and been with them for a long time. Not acceptable. Decided to also cancel our business account with them.
I was told that when I signed on I would receive a $100 gift card after 3 months of service. Well, that was a lie. I have since called 3 times in regards to never receiving. Each time I am given the same response; We will email you. I have never received an email from them about this. They also raised my modem rental without ever letting me know. Plus, if you call to ask about all of this, they will never give you an answer. To top it off, the internet connection drops randomly all the time. This service is overall terrible. You are not treated like a customer should be treated.
Wow! This company is terrible! Don’t believe the sales representatives and their sales pitches. I would honestly trust a shady used car salesman or a politician on either side of the political spectrum over this company. They constantly have a steady stream of service outages that don’t just last a couple hours, but days. Just yesterday, we didn’t have service the entire day and most of today. The most unfortunate thing is that my wife teleworks and had to take off work because of lack of internet. If you can afford something better, I highly recommend any other company. We’re having AT&T come out tomorrow. This company either needs new leadership or the free market needs to do its job and let it go under. WOW!
Who sends mail advertisements to an area they dont provide service to? Not only does this sound like a waste of money on their part, but it also results in frustration after hoping there will be competition in an area. Why?
To be honest, the Internet is slow. I had to purchase WiFi extenders to cover the entire home. Also, on my first bill I noticed a service that I never added but customer service resolved the issue. Overall, I believe there are more pros such as no contracts, no data caps, free installation and 24 hours customer support. So far there hasn’t been any outages.
No words other than this is the worst internet provider that money can buy. I mean seriously, I can’t wait to switch to a company that actually cares.
This is the worse internet service ever do not use it. They do not care about there customers. Worse ever less than 1 star. If you are offered any other internet company use them, this is the worse possible. Do not use ever.
I called and cancelled WOW after 13 years of being a customer. The cost was getting ridiculous. I cancelled Oct 9. I never got the shipping labels they were supposed to send so I can ship my cable and internet box to them. I called a week later, he said he would email me the labels. Instead he signed me back up and now I am getting emails every day telling me I havent accepted the offer. I called again, and the lady said they would snail mail me the shipping labels. It has been 3 weeks. Does anyone know if the WOW facility in Huntsville AL is open? I refuse to pay for these boxes when I have tried to return them for weeks now.
After being a customer for over 20 years of Knology, then wow, I can honestly say I would never use them again. Two years ago, I moved to a new location and got Wow internet again, and all was good. Then AT&T offered 1gig bandwidth for what Wow was charging 500m. So I moved to AT&T. Wow immediately offered to match the price. One of my main complaints is unless you track when prices drop and ask for the drop, they will continue to charge the higher rates forever. Back to the story... Due to COVID, I could not take the cable modem back to WOW in person, so they sent me a box to ship it back with. I put it in the box provided, affixed labels as instructed, and dropped it off at Going Postal to ship out. Wow, never received it, and they billed me for the price of the modem. Trying to get to an actual person you can talk to that might understand you is impossible—zero help. And I had no proof (copy of shipping label they sent me), so they demanded payment. I paid them premium prices for 20 years and never missed a payment. Why would I not send the $250 modem back? Simply put, I would, I did. They turned me over to collections as I refuse to pay on principle! This caused my Credit Score to drop 25points. NEVER use them. You don’t need cable or phone lines with all the streaming options and cell phones. Google and AT&T have a superior product that costs less. THE END.
Service is terrible for the prices that are charged, and if you need customer service I wish you the best of luck. If the area you are moving to has any other companies that offer the services that WOW! does, I would 10/10 recommend you use anyone else.
We got WOW a couple weeks ago, and it has been great since. My husband plays a lot of Xbox so we went with 1gb package. We havent had any problems. For me I watch a lot of YouTube videos, also does great! Previously we had Frontier before here. Let me tell yall this is by far WAY better. Also had to call customer service, no issues there. Happy customer here.
Overpriced for the quality of internet. Customer service takes awhile to finally get through. Got billed Multiple times even up to 6 months after canceling. Had to call and question each bill and was promised that was the last payment I had to do each time. Kept trying to charge $150.00 for early cancellation, despite moving to a non serviceable area. Finally got a helpful customer service employee who disputed it. Save yourself the headache and time if you don’t want to deal with them Months after canceling and paying obnoxious fees.
Have a problem call customer service be polite and theyll fix anything that you come about. Ive been with them for 11 years and theyre still as good now as they were then!
We pay for a good connection. The speed varies wildly. Avoid WOW! if you stream, game, or video chat.
We have used Wow business for over 3 years. We called to cancel today and they tell us that our contract automatically renews. The service has been horrible and the only thing they are good at is keeping you on hold when you have a problem.
Seriously the worst experience I have ever had with internet. My lease requires I use this company and therfore they have zero incentive to make right by any mistep. Its absolutely horrible.
Horrible customer service! Dishonest people!I spent 3 hours with 3 different people one being a so called supervisor who They all told lies and tried to shift the blame on me. I could not get into my account because They went in my account without contacting me and changed my account number went up on my bill while im under a contract with 6 months left on it. One representative told me they did it due to the Pandamic. So you go up on my bill to make up for your companies lost money.. These people need to be investigated. At the end of the call the so called supervisor asked me was i satisfied with the customer service she gave me ABSOLUTELY NOT! Im getting rid of WOW internet as soon as my contract is up!
HORRIBLE SERVICE. No one knew what was going on at any point during my 4 conversations with them. How pathetic.
After being a loyal customer during my residence in your service area, I relocated to a new address outside of WOW services. As a responsible customer, I pre-empted the move and called to cancel my services. My account was always paid up prior to the due date on every bill. As a result, I closed my account with a credit due back on the account of $68.79.The only further instructions I was given by various Account Reps was to provide proof of residence in the form of a utility bill and to return my equipment. I received a FedEx box with a shipping label to return my equipment. Understandably, this would be a requirement to receive my credit due back on my account from overpayment.A little frustrated by having to work hard to get this account closed, I was willing to live with the hardship of the administrative work I was having to complete as a CUSTOMER to close this account; I was worried that if I did nothing, I would eventually be hit with a fee of some sort – a reasonable fear based on this company’s inability to provide me with any kind of reassurance that my account is closed.Weeks later, I confirmed delivery of the FedEx package. Its contents were my two pieces of equipment associated with the account – the Modem/Router and the Eos device that boosts the signal. It was marked “delivered” by FedEx themselves. After waiting another week or two, I began to wonder about my $68.79.Back to the emails- I sent multiple inquiries to the Account Reps that had been sending me directions on how to close my account. I had already sent in the “proof of residence” document, which I furnished via the email to the Account Reps – again, never hearing back for 3-4 day stretches before making FURTHER attempts to simply confirm receipt of the documents. WOW must get thousands of emails per day in order to simply NOT respond to a simple “please confirm receipt”. Later, I got an email from one rep saying “Please return your equipment” – no introduction, no punctuation, a simple demand. What? I HAVE returned my equipment! It was received TWO weeks ago. I can demonstrate this via my tracking number. I never heard back from that rep.At this point it becomes apparent that the Account Reps don’t know where the equipment is. What follows is SEVEN IDENTICAL phone calls to WOW, so that I, the CUSTOMER, can help you locate YOUR equipment. Each time I call in, they say: “You need to return your Eos”. I say: “I HAVE”. They proceed to create and send a ticket over to the receiving warehouse to try and locate the device. (Keep in mind, I sent the equipment in ONE box – the only thing I can deduce is that a warehouse employee misplaced it, didn’t scan it in properly, or stole it, whichever the case, it is absolutely NOT my problem where your equipment is. I have done my part as a responsible consumer to return into your hands). Trying to get ahead of this, I ask for contact info for this warehouse. This warehouse, the Account Rep states, cannot be called directly, not even by the Account Rep! Each time we go through this charade, the Account Rep creates a ticket and says: “Do not call us back, we will call you in 5 days or less” (of course I wait, and no phone call back).I have zero vested interest in where their product is located – I have in fact completed the steps to close my account as referenced above. So why is your company saying that I can’t have my credit due back of $68.79 until YOU find YOUR lost product? I’m starting to get the feeling that WOW is holding my money hostage. I ask the Account Rep: “So what if you don’t find this Eos device?” They could not give me a clear answer other than that *I* will be CHARGED A REPLACEMENT FEE for it and will not get my credit until then. The 7th call ended the same way the others did: “We will call you back- we have put a ticket in to locate the equipment”.***UPDATE***3 mos and 27 calls 1hr each of working my own CS issue and they’ve stuck me with fees over $200 and sending “Final Notices”, will eventually affect my credit, and holding my $68.79 credit until they find their equipment.
Good service for 3 yr. we renewed our service in November 2019. We’ve had horrible TV cable and especially Internet since then. We’ve had probably 8 people here since then. We shut our account down on 7 May. Told them ahead of time and they said it would be fine. We are having to fight with them because they want to bill us for the time we haven’t been on there. We have hours waiting with them on the telephone over the past seven months. Never again. we went with Google fiber an Hulu+
My technician did not arrive as schedule, so here I am again another 2 days without internet service!!!!!
I live on the Arsenal so I don’t have any choice on high speed providers. When it’s working, everything is alright. It constantly goes up and down. Sometimes for hours at a time. Customer service is a continuous loop of restarting modem, then they adjust the settings, then they send someone out who tweeks with the box. Still no fix. I went through this cycle three time and gave up. I had internet in Iraq, Afghanistan twice (remote COPs not big bases), and Kuwait. While they didn’t provide the speeds, they were reliable, but here on a military installation, I can’t play online games or reliability do anything that requires a steady connection. If given the choice, I will never use WoW again.
Not bad service, average customer support.
When we first got wow wifi it was fast but after a year the speeds have dropped to 0.01 mb and 0.33 upload speed and when i do speed test it shows us at 4 mb download and 0.0 upload
My company landline phone is not working.. its Huntsville cab and AA cab at 3401 8th Ave Huntsville Alabama 35805.. were losing some serious cash, its been out since yesterday afternoon
The cable was horrible on certain days I could not watch certain channels due to channels freezing up and going out and then my router would go out and a tech would come out at least once or twice a week. The agents was rude and very unprofessional I would never go back to their services
Love my internet
I’m not going to write a long response. I’m only with NOT wow because they are the only service provider. Their WiFi is horrendous. The technicians they outsource are clueless. Their call center follows scripts and are also clueless. Their service just cost me two large clients due to their service that doesn’t work - honestly, never has. This is not a recent problem but a problem that has existed from the beginning of signing up with them. I see them folding as soon as others jump in the area. I’ve never posted in my life, but I feel I owe it to anyone willing to research providers to tell you NOT TO USE “NOT WOW”. The list is way to long to explain!
The Internet rarely works and we keep going up in our Internet speeds for more money and it still doesn’t work. Wow expects you to pay for your bill fully each month even though their service does NOT work fully each month. And if you’re a business, they put you in a contract and you are stuck, even though your service does not work properly.
We discontinued our services in March when we moved and turned all equipment in at the local office. Our bill was paid in full. So, we figured we would be done dealing with WOW . No! We continued to receive bills! We called each time and they would say it was taken care of. The next month we would receive another bill. This continued and then they said we had charges for unreturned equipment. All equipment was returned and we have the receipt for it. We thought it was all taken care of because we had not received a bill in a while...NO my husband just opened up a collections notice!!!!
Upgrade internet few months ago let me say thought they did when I called today to upgrade again found out my router wouldn’t update to the higher speed.Agent ran speed test it was still on 60 mg tho I been paying for the 100 last few months. Now been on hold hour waiting to talk to someone about crediting accountEveryone needs to check make sure there not ripping you off alsoRun test at. Wowwaythespeedtestcustom.com
I started with Knology 30 years ago and their service was good and support was excellent. A US based call center made working through problems easy. However, I had a problem yesterday and endured two lengthy support calls with techs for whom English was a second language. The first call dropped and I had to call back. After another lengthy troubleshooting session, the second tech asked me to wait two hours to see it improved. It didnt. I tried to email the link on the website (that email bounces!). I tried messaging twitter this morning, but after two hours of no response, I called tech support again. They had no record of the troubleshooting steps from either of my first two calls and wanted to troubleshoot again. I told them no, wed been though this and it was time to send a tech out. My neighbors have service and I have no cable and limited (0.1 megabit) internet. This is a dramatic departure from my past support experiences and has me seriously considering a move to another carrier. Something I would not have considered even a year ago.
Dear customer service rep:You were mumbly at the beginning of our phone call, and then you were great, inviting, encouraging, and helpful. All I did was ask you about the special you had going on, then I told you I would call you back after I look around a bit more. Then, you pushed another pricing. Great. When I told You again that I would call you back, you were snippy, asked me what I needed for a better price, and said “alright. You have a good day. Goodbye.” And then hung up.I wish that would have been a better conversation.Sincerely, a new professional who is trying to figure out her budget for the first time.
You can always count on WOW to have poor customer service and also to have poor Techs to do their JOBS. the supervisors at WOW only there to collect a check and really and truly do not care about any of the customers issue. I have a tech come out to my home 6 times to repair my cable and it is still not working. I will be proceeding with legal matters against WOW
You can always count on WOW to mess up your billing. Then you get the pleasure of enduring a long and confusing phone call with their outsourced customer service department. The best part is, you get to do it month after month until you switch providers!
Worse internet in the history of ISPs. They deleted our modem out of their system. The modem is still sitting in my home: where I work from. Can’t work if I don’t have internet. Now I’m loosing coins! Thank me WOW!
I would rate them ZERO if I could. Do not drop your equipment in the box in front of this location. It will be stolen or not credited back to you and you will continue to be charged. DEMAND A RECEIPT!!! They can pick it up at the door (contactless) and give you a receipt
We moved and had to change from Xfinity to WOW. Our bill went up $20+/month. They overcharged from my original quote when I set the service up (internet only), and when I called (twice) to have it fixed they would not come down to the original quote price. The internet is very slow and sometimes unreliable.
Because I will not agree for another modem at $10.00 per month they have shut down my home line. This should be against the law! Would not suggest anyone going with wow. They are after that buck! I wonder if this is against the law? Esp since I am paying my bill which includes phone.
Billing fraud
Great internet but cable is going up for no discernable reason.
I have had them since they were Knology. After many many years, I have disconnected all services. Their customer service is complete trash. Completely ridulous wait times for customer service. Poor internet speeds and quality. The billing is a whole other debacle. Havent had any service issues since dropping WOW.
After having to reschedule appointment due to medical reasons, then the day it is scheduled for waited and called 30 minutes before 6, with appointment being from 3-6. Was told tech couldnt find the house. Issue with that is wow has number to contact customer, yet, instead of using the number they claim to be sitting in empty parking lot at 3, funny how all businesses around residents are all working and have full parking lots. Very disappointed, wouldnt give wow any stars, except the fact the person on the phone was courteous and rescheduled again.
Wow internet, in terms of internet, is perfectly fine. My husband and I had it for a year and a half and had very minimal problems with it. Though, when we had problems, they were always serious (like the entire box blowing out, or the internet saying that its on but it wasnt actually working no matter what we tried). They were able to fix the issues quickly for us. The reason for the two star review is because of how much of a pain it has been for us to completely cancel their internet. We havent been using their internet for the past 4 months, and they STILL send us bills/mail/emails about our account, which is closed! Today, my husband got an email about them coming out to our apartment to set up internet, and we havent lived there for four months. Im sick of calling them, and its not like I can go talk to actual people, because their office seems to only be open Tuesday and Thursday while both my husband and I are at work. I cant wait till I never have to talk to them again!TLDR: The internet is fine as long as you want to keep it for the rest of your life. Cancelling their internet is a huge pain. (I only had internet, I know nothing of their cable or phone services)
Service is interrupted often.. like right now, since the storm yesterday!!! I left for work at 5pm yesterday and returned home this morning at 6am thinking my service would be restored... BUT ITS NOT!!!!!
I wish I could give them a -5 star review, so the 1 star will have to suffice. HORRIBLE! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! NONE of the local numbers will connect you with the local office. I discontinued service and just wanted to know if the Huntsville location has a drop box. Additionally, Wow! is (extremely) expensive when compared to other providers who actually offer higher download/upload speeds for less cost.
We have had their service for a year now and there is usually no problem. Over the past 3 months we have experienced numerous outages in our neighborhood. If this wasnt the only provider in our area that offers high speed I would have switched a long time ago.
Horrible customer service ....especially in 2 different downgrades with in last 30 days ....they wouldnt honor that previous monthly of $12 discount ....downgraded to just net service so they picked up 2 cable boxes ....now my net service ended up to $79 which they offer no contract on their website for $44 ....then they want to charge me $50 trip fee to pick up my modem which took over 1 hour to speak to supervisor so looks like they are sending me FedEx prepackaged box to send back .......THESE PEOPLE ARE RELENTLESS......PEOPLE ARE REALIZING FROM THIS PANDEMIC......people are cutting the cord .....until i find out a new net service in my area ......hotspotting from my cell phone to smart tv for Netflix Amazon Prime and a good old fashioned antenna.....so yeah THANKS WOW ....SOO INSTEAD OF HONORING THAT PREVIOUS DISCOUNT OF $144 A YEAR .....YOU LOST $1,488 A YEAR .....OOH WELL.....Those local employees....I just hope you guys get a new job fast ......AND THE NET SERVICE ALWAYS WENT OUT ......END RESULT ......HORRIBLE SERVICE .....i moved here from Los Angeles and that same service I was paying in LA for $79.99 a month......WOW charges $124month....btw ....service went out while typing this .....yeah thats WOW SERVICE
My monthly auto-pay bill was increased by $10 without informing me. This isnt the first time they did this either. Im not continuing with a company that decides to stealthily increase pricing without notifying me.
Absolutely Horrible. Never thought anything could make me miss Comcast/XFinity, but Wow! is about 10-15 years behind in terms of tech and user interface. Just praying Google Fiber, XFinity, or Verizon moves into our development soon. If you have any other option other than WoW, I urge you to take it.
Stay away from WOW! if you have a choice. Their prices are astronomical once the promotion period wears off. They advertise very reasonable prices online, until you call them and find out that those prices are only for new customers. Seems to me you would reward customers for being with you longer, and not trying to screw them out of nearly 2x the monthly bill as new customers. Google Fiber cant get here soon enough.
We updated to 1 gig internet. Before installing it the technician told us the connectivity issues we were having were actually because of our modem/router, not the speed. We were able to downgrade our speed and lower our monthly bill.
They were closed, but it was good that they have drop off bins for customers.
I wish I could give them Negative stars!Absolutely no consistency in service. Ive had WOW for 3 months now. And service has been down for at least 10 days per month off and on.Techs sent out are not trained. They have to call the same customer service number that I do, where they read from a script. I am using my ipad as a wifi hot spot as we speak. Unfortunately Wow is the only service allowed under contract in my community.
The worst. I knew I’d be moving soon and specifically told them I didn’t want and contract and was automatically enrolled in one after many attempts to tell them I wanted to pay monthly. Now I’m stuck with a buy out bill. The WORST internet customer service ever. I’d go with direct tv before I went with wow.. and that’s bad.
Terrible Internet Service Provider! We paid the highest speed & could not achieve the slowest speed that one could purchase. Had technicians after technicians. Also, the modem would need restarted all the time. Luckily our community now has Google Fiber. & we have switched!! Happy with Google Fiber for Internet so far...
Turned in my rented router, and it was a little late. I went from a large bill owed, to a credit to my account after all said and done. The customer service was professional, fast, and kind. I recommend it
Ive had no complaints at all since Ive been with WOW Cable and Internet Service. WOW is much cheaper than Comcast. My bill with comcast was $300.00 plus. My bill will wow is only $145.00 and thats with internet and cable. I will not go back to Comcast/Xfinity at all.
Although this isnt really a review of the location, it seems everyone else is bashing their service on here so I will too. Service drops to nearly zero (unusable) at least a few times per week, usually on weekends.WOW is garbage. I will be dropping them as soon as they lose their monopoly on my area. Would not use again.
I would give them 0 stars if I could. I would honestly sue them if I had time and money. We have had nothing but problems since we cancelled our services due to moving. We returned our equipment on time and were told they would send us a bill for what we owed. Not once but twice did we receive a WRONG bill with the WRONG amount. Ranging from $400-$1800. Every time we called, we were told to wait until they corrected the bill and then pay it. Well while we are waiting for a right bill, they sent us to collections. Now we have to pay collections and get a ding on our report due to their mess ups not once but multiple times. We have tried to get this straight with no help from them. I cannot even imagine having a business so unprofessional and so unorganized! But honestly seeing that they have a 2 star rating I am sure they do not care about their customers at all. If you can avoid getting WOW I would do so !!!!
I RARELY review products/services. I moved to Madison two years ago and chose WOW because it was my only option. The staff at the office were great. The installer was awesome. Over the last two years, like all internet providers, there were few instances of internet outages or reduced bandwidth. The phone reps were always professional and upbeat.I recently moved to a newly built home in Huntsville. Neither WOW, nor Google fiber, could locate my new home in their system. (Despite all of my newly built neighbors having both WOW and Google Fiber). Both promised to do an address assessment and get back to me. After two weeks of inaction, a friend linked me up with Michael, a WOW manager, who personally came to my house, did the assessment, and coordinated the install for two days later! AWESOME customer service! The installer, Douglas M. was a total rock star! Each room in our new house was supposed to be wired for COAX but many of the rooms were not properly terminated or even wired behind the faceplate!! Douglas powered through each issue and got us up and running. AWESOME customer service!I’m still waiting for Google to get back to me. Lol
Customer service is AWFUL.
Wish they were available in my area.
Ive visited WOWs building a few times to pick up or drop off equipment and have always been pleasantly surprised by how short (if any) of a wait I had. Their employees have always treated me politely and with respect. Ive also had success calling in for support on the rare occasion I need it. Their TV & Internet services are both very reliable.
Like any company, there will be good days and bad days, and even good and bad customer service reps. Overall, my experience has been positive. Most of the reps I have interacted with have been extremely courteous and helpful, and the service technicians who have come to my house have been awesome. I even had one who noticed some of the hardware used in bringing the service into my house was really old and replaced it free, and that had absolutely nothing to do with what he had come out here for.
My only complaint is a big one to me. The outsourcing of customer service is a DISASTER! I have trouble getting someone who knows what they are doing. It’s completely frustrating, and I am seriously considering changing providers after 20 years of being a customer. Please pay the extra and bring back customer service to the United States!Frustrated in Alabama
Raised my billing price with no explanation why.
They randomly raise your rates without your knowledge and despite the contract you originally signed up for. They will keep sneaking in higher bills and even customer service cant explain why the bill is inconsistently higher than usual.
Horrible service. i plan to use another service.
Internet overall review:So I used my own modem, it was high quality modem that was on their approval website. First issue was I had to call in multiple times because they didnt properly record my MAC Address. After that was finally complete I would get signal issues. I would call they would see no signal issues but after the 3rd call or so they see the signal issue. So i would get a lot of spotty internet where it wouldnt work for a day or two. Then when it would work I would hardly ever get the speeds I was paying for. The worse thing about wow is that they have you locked in a 2 year contract. Google fiber came into my neighborhood and I paid around $240 to get out of my bill ($15 off your contract balance each month). I gave them two stars because WoW is in areas where you have to get dial up if wow wasnt there and their customer service was spotty but they were willing to help. My advice if you are going to get their service, sad to say, but get their equipment. Some how a lot of my issues went away by using their equipment, cant tell you the reason but that will be my solution.
Always great service and very helpful.
Ive had great service from the sales rep for Redstone Arsenal. The on site technicians and the phone support reps were professional. All my calls have been answered and when they were not available, they called me back. Im running 1 Gig internet to on post housing with no issues.
1 star only because zero and negatives are not permitted...horrible internet in an urban area which in 2019 is not acceptable. No plans to upgrade and they only use untrained underpaid contractors not capable of fixing anything. The name WOW is derived from the utterance people makes when the service actually running...WOW, look at that, its finally working.Perhaps their CEO should forfeit a bit of her lofty salary and stock to improve the infrastructure for the paying customers who dont have a choice to opt our of WOWs poor service.
The absolute worst internet provider in south Huntsville. And customer service is no better. Although wow couldn’t uphold their agreed to terms of providing internet service at my home, daily issues of no network connectivity, dropped connectivity consistently for 1.5 years. Yet they have the audacity to charge me $90 for dropping them early. Laughable, they can’t understand why a customer would stop complaining after 8-9 months of complaining & eventually find some other company to provide service when it comes available in their neighborhood. My money is important to me & if you can’t provide internet service to your customers then they should not be required to pay for those failed services!!!! Time to close up shop,
Internet companies in general are known for having bad customer service. The best internet is something that doesnt require a lot of input from the consumer and just works. Ive been on Wow for about 4 years now, and its worked great for me the whole time. When my 2 year contracts are up, they are very accommodating of renewing my contract at a competitive price. I very rarely have slow internet, and the couple of times that it has occurred they have fixed it quickly. No complaints, and that is very rare for an internet company.
WOW, this is so bad! These guys are the worst ISP’s on the planet. This company is joke. Hopping on with Verizon.
Horrible service! Every time I tried to call they hung up. They raised their rates and changed the billing cycle as I only get paid once a month this conveniently allowed them to disconnect four days before I got paid and charged me a 22 fee to reconnect because they were “gracious enough” to reconnect and extend my billing date this one time. This happened monthly after first year of service with no issues . The last call I told the agent I would start looking for another company if the matter wasn’t settled once and for all. He said “ok you can turn your equipment into your nearest office”. NEVER again will I deal with this company and as a vet I will post my experience with them on every military web site. This was the worst customer service I have ever received.
