Once you first walk though the door you will immediately be greeted by Sensei Castillo and the rest of his staff and students. Sensei Castillo is an amazing intructor. He is very friendly, Compassionate, professional and is very passionate for what he does. He makes his classes very fun and motivate everyone to do their best in class. The school is very tidy and even in between classes. Everyone make new friends and and have a wonderful experience. You feel like you belong there and It’s an honer to train with one of the best instructors of Tsmma.

My 8 year old daughter has been taking martial arts at Tiger Schulmann’s for 3 years now and loves it. It’s great exercise and has taught her confidence. Almost 20 years ago I came to an introductory class after a friend suggested I do something to get back in shape. This place saved me in ways I couldnt imagine. Discipline is a concept we hear so much of, our school is the very place where you get an eyewitness account of it. Sensei Castillo has a great relationship with the students as well as parents. I don’t think that bond is felt at other places. The atmosphere sensei creates I think lifts his students to do better, be better and will help as a base for years

Through out the last few months, everything has been uncertain and missing structure during this pandemic. Sensei castillo has dedicated himself to giving his students structure and consistency through classes in zoom, and has been a consistent source of encouragement during this pandemic. Best place around to learn both stand up and ground self defense. Superb instruction by a very dedicated and excellent instructor. Friendly atmosphere makes it easy to learn and get in shape. Large clean training area with plenty of parking, makes this spot ideal. With access from major roadways, this makes it easy to get to from any town in the area. Classes range from beginner to advanced and are a challenge to even the most seasoned martial artist(children and adults alike). Must swing by and give it a try!

A good work out is hard to find... many times we get trapped in the same routine because we feel like we just have to do something. When I tried my first class at Tiger Schulmanns I never imagined I would have loved it as much as I did. I left wanting more and actually looking forward to my next class. I left each class feeling motivated and determined to become better- a better Martial Artists and better at being healthy. The support I received was nothing short of the support you receive from family. They were just as committed to my success as I was. Tiger Schulmanns in Huntington provides an amazing support system to their family members. The staff are patient, kind, and knowledgeable and make learning and improving during each class feel like the best thing Ive done all day. We work as a team. We celebrate our accomplishments together and lift each other up when we need a little extra push. I cant think of any other place Ive ever worked out in that has given me so much back. A good work out may be hard to find... but at Tiger Schulmanns a good work out is just the beginning of what youll receive.

Never ever sign a long-term contract, or any contract for that matter with a martial arts school especially Tiger Schulmanns! I sign both my children up and paid $6,000 in advance. They lied to me and told me the lessons were transferable and good for life. At first everything was working out fine until they changed instructors. Both my children found the new instructors to be boring. When my son was finally up for his black belt test, they said it wasnt worth their wild because they didnt have enough students ready take the test and he would have to wait another year before the test came around. Needless to say they both lost interests and stopped going. Sometime later my son and Me game interests and when I took him back there they told me they had no record of our contract. They also dont give you a way to track how many times you take your lessons. Bottom line theyre a bunch of crooks and Liars and scam artists! And the martial arts system of Tiger Schulmanns best average on a good day. Never ever sign a contract with Tiger Schulmanns! Complete rip-off and a scam.

This Tiger Schulmann’s in Huntington is amazing; I’ve been a member here for 3 years and they have helped me become healthier (I’ve lost 32 pounds) and also have helped me become more disciplined in eating healthy overall. My son Aiden had been training martial arts for about a year before we moved to the area and getting him into a quality school was very important to us. We had tried a different school and were not impressed. Mistakenly, I cannot emphasize enough how mistaken I was but I had thought of Tiger Shulmanns as more of a commercial school.....I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE INCORRECT. From the second we walked into the Huntington location we felt how special this school was. My son immediately took to the intensity, quality of training and instruction and the vibe of the school. It immediately felt like a family. I was so impressed that, soon after I started training myself and will never turn back. Aside from the discipline, the expert training and the incredible workouts, I can honestly say that this is the real deal. Excellence is the norm here. I am extremely happy to say that my oldest son Aaron has just started training at the school as well and absolutely LOVES it!

In December I enrolled my 5 year old son. Since then his focus, and discipline has greatly improved. He has become stronger both physically and mentally. He looks forward to class everyday and wants to get more involved and further his training. Joshu Castillo does a great job motivating all of his students and makes learning fun.

There are many martial arts studios throughout Long Island. They all have similarities; a studio, equipment, ideals. I pass an assortment of them driving in my car everyday. I did not practice the art and was not looking to, but often the most interesting encounters are unplanned. I was brought to Tiger Shulmann in Huntington through my seven year old son Andre. My wife signed him up to see if he would be interested and it quickly turned into the first thing he ever showed true passion and dedication for. After taking a complimentary class with my son for Fathers Day I was introduced to Matt, the instructor, and quickly understood the reason for my sons enthusiasm; it was his teacher. There are rare occasions when you come across an interesting subject and have it connected with an ardent guide. I have owned an antique store for many years and the most important things Ive learned from it was to offer true customer service and try to impart some of the joy I have for what I do to everyone who walks through my door. Matt does not only do that, but he turns his customers into students and from there into members of a cohesive group, thoughtful of one another and equipped with physical and mental skills only found in an unique environment like the one diligently cultivated at this special place. Along with my son, I now regularly attend the adult classes. It has become a gift to myself and a place for my child to thrive.

My son started receiving physical therapy at the age of 4 months. He had low muscle tone and spent most of his first two years of life doing PT three times a week. By the time he was in Pre-Kindergarten he was being bullied for his speech. I didnt know what to do. My mom had suggested a karate program for him and I looked into a few different martial arts studios in our area. I didnt feel a connection with any of them. When I took him for the first time to TSMMA in Huntington, I knew I found the right place. His confidence soared, he made so many friends and soon his older sister wanted to participate. Enrolling my child in Huntington Tiger Shulmans MMA classes under Joshu Castillos instruction was a decision that has impacted my sons life-both socially and academically-beyond anything I could have imagined. Before we began, I knew the great person I was raising in my child and really didnt think he needed anything more. However, school was hard for him in that his teachers wanted to put him on a behavior plan to manage his disinterest in doing classroom work...being 6 years old, he just wanted to move and play! I wasnt in agreement that there was a problem, but also didnt have a plan as to how to help him at school. I figured- lets give martial arts a try. It was a birthday party at Tiger Shulmans that grabbed my sons interest-and the heavy marketing that made it hard to say no to a free trial class. Little did I understand at that point, how this experience would support a complete turn around in my child-noticed after 6 months of training. Now my son has shown me his full potential, that was before unrealized, through his practice on the mat. He went from a behavior plan to being eligible for the gifted and talented program at his school. He is stronger in his ability to build friendships and be emotionally resilient when faced with challenge. He even walks more confidently with a swag that is all his own! My husband and I soon followed taking classes ourselves and sharing as a family in all the benefits. I am stronger in mind and body as a result. One of the best things I could do for myself!I originally commited to two days a week....it made such a difference in my life that I am now up to 9 classes a week. Over the past few months my body has drastically changed...I dropped three dress sizes. Everyone at Huntington TSMMA is friendly and most of all, supportive. Matt, the instructor at Tiger Schulmanns is dedicated to teaching us not only how to take care of our bodies but how to defend ourselves. At the suggestion of a friend I took my son to Tiger Shulmann in Huntington and the rest is history. My son was being bullied at school. My son has ADHD and Mood Disorder. His self esteem was suffering horribly for a long time due to the bullying and his ADHD. What Tiger Shulmann and Joshu Castillo have done for him has been nothing short of amazing. It is Joshu Castillo who makes the school. His love for teaching and helping his students is far beyond anything I have seen or experienced. My son has found something he loves. My 7 year old daughter has been a student at Tiger Schulman Huntington for 2 years now. In that time, I have watched her grow stronger and more confident with each passing week.
