I was so anxious about my root canal, but Dr. Marcus put me at ease immediately. He made sure I was not going to feel anything and explained each step thoroughly. I seriously didn’t feel anything and was not uncomfortable! What a relief. Unbelievable. The staff was welcoming, even cheerful, and made sure I was comfortable throughout. The whole visit from start to finish was 40 minutes!

I want to share what a positive experience I had with using the services of Dr Richard Marcus! I had several issues with my teeth in the last several years and I went to see Dr Marcus because he was highly referred by friends who have had gone to him. He is a very personable and caring doctor and he made me feel comfortable as I have always been reluctant to go to a dentist. Both he and his staff are very professional and knowledgeable. In addition, I was also impressed by his office environment during the pandemic being COVID-19 aware and implementing safeguards for his patients and staff! If you need a good dentist. He is THE GUY!

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Marcus and his office. Dr. Marcus recently performed a root canal on me. I was so nervous. Dr Marcus made me so relaxed. He has a conversation with you while he’s working to out you at ease, like you were friends catching up in a coffee shop. I don’t mind needles/shots, but Novocain has always been the one needle I dreaded, I kid you not when I say I didn’t even feel it. He has a way of doing it that is totally painless. I never thought that was possible! I also had a bad bone infection in the bone behind the tooth that he was performing the root cabana on. He took care of it (and me). I healed quicker than was expected given how bad the infection was. He truly knows what he’s doing and is very good at it. He makes what is generally and unpleasant experience, as pleasant as possible. His staff was always very friendly and helpful as well. You won’t be disappointed with your experience in this office!

Dr. Marcus is the best doctor and overall person ever! Ive had 3 root canals with him and not once do I ever feel pain from injections (he has a cool technique) or the actual root canal. Truly talented at what he does!! Root canal is quick and easy, talks to you the entire time and makes it all a breeze. I would not go to anybody else except him. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Always have a great experience at the office of Dr. Marcus. Was in excruciating pain from a much needed root canal and the office staff was able to move my appointment up emergently. This was the best dental place that I have ever gone to. They were so nice. The ladies in the front work well together and made the experience well worth it. Dr. Marcus was friendly, so gentle and didn’t hurt at all. When he was putting the needle in my gum to numb my gums to do a root canal, I didn’t even feel the needle in my gum. It was well worth going to this office.

I am terrible with dentists so when I found out I needed a root canal I nearly panicked. I searched local specialists and came across Dr. Marcus. His reviews online alone put me at ease and I knew this is where I needed to go. The receptionists were accommodating (even though I was a new patient) and they fit me in as I was in an immense amount of pain. They listened to my concerns and Dr. Marcus practically had the root canal done before I could even have time to get nervous about it. He walked me through the entire procedure from start to finish and educated me on what I was feeling, what happened, and what I need to do to prevent it from happening again. He is truly an expert in his field. I am not an easy dental patient by any means but Dr. Marcus was understanding, funny, and calming. As great as he made this experience I hope to never have to see Dr. Marcus again but if I do need another root canal I refuse to go anywhere else.

I NEVER HAD A CAVITY IN MY LIFE but circumstances have changed. Referred by my regular dentist for specialty dental work. Recently had work done by Dr Marcus, DDS (Root Canal) and Lanap (Laser Gum Disease Treatment) by Dr Kapoor, MS DDS. Both are extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. Great bedside manner. Dr Marcus & Dr Kapoor spent the time to investigate my issues, develop a method of treatment and then explain options & every step in the process. Best of all, painless (some swelling in the beginning but this subsided within 1-2 days). HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Marcus and his staff at Long Island Dental Specialty. I was suffering with a throbbing tooth infection and i was told by my dentist that i needed a root canal. Root canals cause enough anxiety for the normal patient, but i suffer with benign positional vertigo and i cannot lay back into a flat position, making dental procedures quite a challenge. I called every provider on my dental plan and asked them if they could perform a root canal in a more upright position, each one said NO. I was now totally panicked -if youve ever suffered from a vertigo episode- then you know that it is a sickening, debilitating situation. I started to google dentists that would sedate you for procedures, figuring, ok just knock me out so i can get through this and i will suffer when i wake up, but at least i will be done. Long Island Dental Specialty came up as an office that could sedate patients that have dental anxiety. I called them up and spoke to a very nice receptionist, explained my issue and asked her if Dr. Marcus could treat me. She explained that they could sedate me if i wanted, but even better, that Dr. Marcus could perform my root canal in a more upright position, that he has dealt with patients like myself before. I made my appointment. I went to their office-the ladies at the reception desk treated me like family. They were kind and compassionate and understanding. Dr. Marcus came in the room-said Dont Worry-i will get you through this and he did. He was reassuring, professional and funny. He told me stories, and jokes and before i knew it, my root canal was finished. I couldnt believe it-no issues, no vertigo and my tooth was taken care of. If i could give 10 stars I would!!!!!!!

Without going into details I had a troubling dental issue. DrMarcus took the time and patience to get me in on very short notice and address this issue.Dr Luka is also great as I saw him too for another perspective on the issue I was dealing with. A very welcoming atmosphere.The Office Staff are friendly and well organized. My first appointment was with Doctor Luca to do a Root Canal procedure. I was feeling a bit anxious and it took several attempts to desensitize the area. He was very patient in monitoring me, returning several times until I was relaxed and ready(No rush!), for him to do the procedure.

This office was recommended by my regular dentist when I needed dental surgery. The doctors and staff were excellent. They worked hard to limit the amount of surgery I needed, and did everything to preserve my teeth. And they were successful.

I’d seen two other endodontists before a family friend recommended that I get a third opinion with Dr. Marcus. The office runs smoothly and is well organized. Making an appointment was extremely easy and I was seen on time and greeted warmly by Dr. Marcus. I was very skeptical based on my previous experiences and the complex nature of my dental situation but he patiently explained in detail the status of my tooth and treatment options and answered all of my million questions with a calm and kind demeanor. In observing his interactions with his staff it was also apparent that Dr. Marcus is just a stellar human being. The procedure itself was painless and he called me the next day to check up on me. Overall a wonderful experience that I couldn’t not write a review. Thank you Dr. Marcus— you truly are one of a kind.

My first experience withDr Marcus was with my autistic adult son who was having some dental pain. Dr Marcus gave a full exam and concluded a root canal wasn’t indicated and his discomfort would go away on its own, which it did. The nerve pain did cease without further intervention. Then this week I brought my 16 year old daughter in for a root canal. Same evaluation and it was clear she needed one. The procedure was fast, pain free, and afterwards she feels great. No swelling or pain that day or after. He’s a master and made the whole experience really easy with step by step instructions of what was happening and what she would feel. I highly recommend.

I was a nervous wreck and had been avoiding my root canal ( idk if i spelled that correctly or not🤷🏻‍♂️) for well over a year ! It caused me so much pain I caved in and saw Dr. Marcus. I went for a consultation and expected to set a date for procedure. With his cool calm and collected sense of humor (funny guy) some how convinced me to do it then and there. I started to panic ! He talked me off the ledge with more jokes and gave me something to relax me. His assist Alexa was so kind and prevented me from losing it. She talked with me the whole way until I was no longer worried. When the drill came out I said I wouldn’t look and closed my eyes. What felt like 10 minutes later it was done PAINLESSLY!! Wow after all the time I suffered and avoided the procedure it was over in a moment and I felt much better also there was no pain the next day ! I strongly recommend Dr. Marcus and staff. Now I can live better thanks to them 👍🏼

Dr kapoor is amazing!! Best dentist ever. Patient and kind and very professional. She also laughs a lot. That always takes a load off. Let’s face it no one likes going to the dentist but she makes you want to make the trip!

Highly recommend this practice. Dr Kapoor extracted one tooth. I had zero discomfort. I don’t do well with most antibiotics. A day or so after the extraction I needed to get a different antibiotic. I called off hours and dr Kapoor called within 10 minutes and called to check on me the next day. I wish my primary care doctor treated me like this.

I was quite nervous prior to going to Dr. Marcus. I needed root canal snd was nervous what was left of my tooth could not be saved. The office staff was great and Dr. Marcus couldn’t be nicer and more professional. He talked to me, explained to me, and relieved all my worries. I had an extreme fear of the dentist after an awful childhood experience. I’d had pain for almost a year before finally deciding to seek treatment. Dr Marcus was highly recommended by a friend whose anxious daughter hed treated. His calm and kind demeanor helped to ease my anxieties and he took the time to talk with me and address my fears and concerns without any judgment. I didn’t even need laughing gas because he was so gentle and I honestly didn’t feel any pain. I was shocked that procedure was over.  Dr Marcus is a therapist and dentist all in one. I found out after that his wife is an actual therapist- what a power couple!!

Wow, I received a great experience with a tooth Extraction. The process was under 1 hour and painless, with my deep roots. I mean Zero pain. The entire staff is very expleasant and comforting. When losing a tooth is nothing to be excited about I want to thank Dr. Kapoor for her expertise.

Best Root Canal I ever had!! From start to finish my experience with Dr. Richard Marcus was wonderful. Friendly accommodating staff, very clean office and spot on with their safety practices regarding COVID. Dr. Marcus explained everything to me and put me right at ease. When he came in to numb me up for the procedure, I never felt the needles....Amazing! The procedure was painless!! This was a first for me. His assistant was wonderful too. I was definitely in competent hands. On a side note, his comedic banter was a joy. I followed the doctors directions on post operative instructions and had no problems. The next morning I even got a friendly follow up call. I highly recommend Dr. Richard Marcus, a matter of fact they may be hearing from my brother in the near future.

Dr. Marcus is AMAZING!! He just did a root canal on me (not my first done by him) and you wouldn’t even know or feel like you just had a root canal. He’s so gentle and calm. He truly makes you feel like family. He has such a way about him, that just makes you feel comfortable when you are getting something we all do not want but need to get done. I also suffer from lock jaw, he pressed on a certain place on my arm (pressure point) and he took the time to show me exactly how to do it, that relieved my lock jaw. You will love him. I HIGHLY recommend him.

I needed a root canal, so a family friend recommended Dr. Marcus. I have severe anxiety and everyone in the office went out of their way to make sure I was calm and comfortable. Dr. Marcus explained everything he was doing as it was happening so I would feel comfortable and it really helped. My procedure was about an hour ago and I already feel 100 times better. (Hes also a music lover which I enjoyed since I could relate!)This group not only knows the most advanced techniques of determining exactly what is best for your teeth and can do the work as only experts can, but they have a personal way about them that you practically never find anywhere in todays world. They are simply the best.

Major tooth infection that almost resulted in me going to the hospital. Dr Ivan Luka saw me as an emergency same day. He was able to drain my abscess in just minutes with no pain at all. His staff is also very accommodating. I was able to go back to work same day and avoided a major disaster. Definitely coming back to this office!!!

I couldn’t have had a better overall experience at Dr. Marcus’ office. The staff is cordial, there’s little to no wait time, and the Dentist is amazing. I was nervous prior to getting my procedure done, but Dr. Marcus made me feel right at home. He talked to me and described step by step as he was doing the work on my teeth. I highly recommend him.

Incredible detailed Pro. Explains every step and insists you shouldn’t feel anything and will stop and adjust or add more nova-cane if needed. Very peaceful seamless experience. Highly recommend him to those that are weary and afraid of Dental work. And those who aren’t!!

Dr Ivan was so patient and understanding of my 10 yr old who needed a root canal. He answered all of her questions and took his time to ease her anxiety before he began. The whole procedure took less than 15 mins. Outstanding service!

There are not enough words to adequately express how awesome Dr. Marcus and his assistants are. From the initial phone call, to your office visit, the warmth and concern from the staff is tremendous. I have been a patient of Dr. Marcus for approximately 15 years, may be longer. The care I have received from Dr. Marcus is top notch. He explains everything, talks his thoughts through with you in order to make the best decision on how to proceed. He knows my health history, and takes that into account when he is making a decision. We have communicated by email and text when there is a hiccup in my recovery. He makes himself available to give additional support when needed. Again, this man and his staff are wonderful. Do not know what I will do when he retires!

This office was recommended by my general dentist. I needed to have a root canal done but it was a bit more complicated than a normal one. Ive had others done by my regular dentist so I wasnt new to the process. They decided to refer me so off I went to a practice I had never been to before.Upon my arrival I was made to feel totally at home. The girls are great! The waiting area is comfortable and clean. Then the door opens and they call me in. Wow! Its huge back there with many different treatment areas, decorated nicely and very clean. Thats important.Now I meet Dr. Marcus. Well....talk about feeling comfortable....wow. This guy is amazing. From x-ray to completion you are informed the whole way. Nothing left to your imagination and no chance of a misunderstanding. He explained everything so you know whats going on. There are also a few jokes thrown in for fun. I guess its all part of the diversion but its over before you know it and you are on your way. I just returned from the follow-up visit and, as expected, everything is looking good.Also....I liked the experience so much on my first day that I had my wife in there the following day! She needed an extraction but that went extremely well also.In summary.....if you need an endodontic services this is the place for you!

Dr. Marcus is an ultimate professional. Every step of my procedure was explained, his concern for my comfort was evident and, best of all I had no pain the day of the procedure or the following day. No pain after a root canal? Unbelievable.

I had an Apico done today with Dr Lukachynets. I was super scared but it was honestly quick and painless. He’s like a ninja! Highly recommend!

This practice has the most friendly, professional and accommodating staff I have ever encountered in a dental clinic.Dr. Marcus, an endodontist, is the most intelligent, skilled, kind and caring dentist I have ever met. I have received extensive care from Dr. Marcus and he always answers my questions, repeats them if necessary and is kind and caring. As far as his professional skills, they are superb. He works very quickly and lets you know what to expect from the procedure. He carefully explains all after care too. Believe it or not, even though I see Dr. Marcus for root canals I dont mind going to his appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Marcus and his clinic. They are the best!

I only have positive things to say about Dr. Marcus and the entire staff here. I had a retreatment of a former root canal that became inflamed/infected years later. It was causing much discomfort. Dr. Marcus analyzed my situation through some x-rays and did a procedure that cleaned up and restored the area. It healed remarkably fast after his surgery on it too. Just days after his work I felt like new again. I appreciated his genuine care and concern for resolving my situation. I felt like someone in my own family was taking care of me. As well he always explained the options very clearly and gave expert advice with a lot of patience for questions and concerns.The staff at the front desk is always courteous and eager to help. They are not just “going through the motions”. I can say the same for the dental assistants who helped me too.I will definitely recommend Dr. Marcus to anyone I speak to who is in need of a top notch endodontist. His work is much appreciated!
