But when I called Michael seeking medical equipment that we needed right away, he let me know that though they had already closed, he would meet me two hours afterwards so that I could get what we needed. If you need to get DME supplies ASAP this store has it. I twisted my ankle and had a hard time with crutches but I need to be mobile for travel and work. Luckily, we found this place and I got all I need. Michael was so patient with me on explaining about knee scooter and I really appreciate that. Iβm glad we found this store. βΊοΈ
Michael is extremely knowledgeable and very patient and thorough. He explained things to me and my elderly parents very well. And he even donated to them the safety ends for their wooden canes. We will be back for the more sophisticated canes once they decide to move in that direction. He had a great selection too. Thank you!

What a fantastic experience I had with RVMS! My 90-year-old mom broke her leg and she needed some support equipment while she recovered. I didnt know the first thing about medical products before I went into the store. Michael patiently spent time explaining my options and gave me advice, but then allowed me the latitude to select the best product for my situation. Since then, he has gone out of his way to answer any additional questions that Ive had. He is knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. RVMS carries only the best quality products and they are competitively priced. I went to two other medical supply stores before going to RVMS and left those stores more confused and discouraged than when I entered. Dont waste time going to any other medical supply store--go straight to RVMS and talk to Michael!

Excellent customer service! I was looking for a boot for my husbands broken toe. I had went to several medical supply stores in the med center area that where either at lunch or did not have the item in stock. I called Rice Village Medical Supply and they had what I needed. When I arrived I was given instructions on how my husband should put on the boot, and the store clerk demonstrated it for me. He answered all my questions and was super friendly and kind. I will definitely make this my first stop next time I am in need of medical supplies.
In April 2021 I contacted Rice University Medical Supply to arrange rental of a portable oxygen concentrator to use on a flight to Germany. Though the airlines parameters for POC machines on such a long flight, are quite complex, Michael immediately understood my needs.The entire rental process was completely seemless and although traveling under Covid restrictions to a foreign country for medical treatment does have its stressful moments, Michaels dedication and compassion to his customers is outstanding and greatly appreciated.Kent Lyles
Cant say enough great things about Rice Village Medical Supply. My dad is currently on home hospice and had a supply situation develop late Saturday. Rice Village was the only place in town with the supplies and willing to help. You can never underestimate a business willing to go the extra mile for customers and patients which they do! Bait and switch warning! Chris and Michael are apparently running this scam artist show from somewhere in the middle east. Scam! Do not waste your money here. They will tell you one price on the phone and change it when you arrive. I am not happy. And when I called management to express my concerns I was laughed at and cussed at. Unacceptable! Will be reporting this business to the regulatory agency who governs them, as well as the city of Houston or whomever there business license is issued by. Wow.
Michael helped me to look for a shoulder immobilizer, he initially couldnβt find one in my size but he didnβt give up and found me a product that was even better quality than I expected. Great customer service throughout! And a plus is that theyβre open 7 days a week :)
I love this place. Michael and Bailey provided fantastic customer service akin to what customer service was in the 60s. They outfitted me with two new walkers and a few accessories and were able to fit me with a very short cane. I wear out walkers and badly needed a new one. Michael went out of his way to help me find just what I needed for my Moms care. They were the only shop of the first 6 Id Googled near me (the Houston Med Center) that had exactly what I needed.
My G.P. had prescribed a lower extremity leg brace for my sprained ankle and showed me a picture of what I needed buy. I was in a lot of pain and had no idea where to begin my search. Luckily, Michael had several options in stock. He fitted me with the correct brace and showed me how to properly customize the pressure. I was actually able to walk (not hobble) when I left.I recommend Rice Village Medical Supply to anyone looking for high quality products and compassionate customer service.
Michael is a horrible sales rep. He initially rushed me to get my request in via email. It was Friday Dec 20, he urged submit request so that he could have the request in to the warehouse that same day. I did so only to have no response from him. When I did call to ask why nothing was moving on my request. He blamed it all on the holidays. But that was the reason for my timely submission to avoid the holiday schedule. He was very condescending. It doesnt seems as if this company needs your business.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a retailer. They are overcharging by 300% more than everyone else and they threatened and lied to me.Here is what happened, I called ahead to see if they had in an extra small foot brace for my wife who broker her foot as I needed one per the hospital. They confirmed they had the size and I went to get it, all they had was this very advanced looking pneumatic brace (which I have come to later learn is terrible and dr said never to use) and it cost over 140 dollars. I purchased it as they said it was the best one on the market and I thought I could trust what they were saying, I went home and it did not fit my wife, by the time I got home and called them to return it and get the right size they were closed. I looked online to see if anyone else had the same brace close to me that I could get and I was shocked to see that everyone, literally everywhere including the manufacturer directly was selling the exact same brace/brand for less than 60 dollars. Everywhere available, i needed to order it and while I could get it the next day, my wife needed one right away, so I went to another local store and bought a different brace in the right size and it worked great. I tried to return this brace the next day as it did not fit and was never even worn. They refused to take it back, even though the worker I purchased it from told me if it didnt fit I could of course bring it right back (I asked as it was expensive and my wife was not with me to try it on). When we spoke they refused to give me my money back or let me return it. They then told me they would talk to the manager and work out a restocking fee for me and call me back the next day. They didnt call me back and I patiently waited and after a week I called back and they denied ever agreeing to a restocking fee and after talking and arguing they agreed to a 50% restocking fee which i told them was crazy considering even at 50% it is still would cost me more than what I can buy it for anywhere else and that even if they were to throw it away they could still buy one for less than that and still make over 200% markup on it. We argued more and they said they would call the boss and see if he would give more than a 50% restocking fee. The βmanagerβ called me back, physically threatened me, told me that if i call his store back again he will call the police on me for harassment and that they will give me nothing back and cursed at me as he hung up on me. I have never in my life experienced such unprofessional service, they were terrible, they were mean and they were thieves with their prices that I have never seen anything like that before. They think just because they are in a nice area that they can overcharge people because they have money, it is horrendous what they are doing and I would never recommend this establishment to anyone!!!!
Donβt rent here!! I never got my deposit back. A year ago I rented a knee scooter for my daughter. When I returned it several weeks later in the same condition, the owner said it needs to be sent off for an inspection before a refund for the deposit is issued. Give me a break, the business is run out of a large closet, there is no place to send it for an inspection! He is just dishonest, plain and simple.

I had to go to for a friend of mine who has severe asthma and was unable to pick up the oxygen cannulas herself. Unaware of how much they cost, they charge $54 for TWO - they generally are no more than $10 at CVS or Walgreens. Price gouging at its best!When the owner responded to my comment on Yelp, he tried to give this excuse of because they are not online but private pay...blah, blah, blah...our prices are determined by the location and hours. YOUR LOCATION AND HOURS ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE TO THE PRODUCT THAT YOU SELL!!!! If you cant afford your rent, move to somewhere more affordable or shut down your business!Illegal is illegal and it is CLEAR that this business is doing nothing more than trying to take advantage of people during a detrimental time. BUYER BEWARE!!!
This business engages in price gouging on a vulnerable population. Charged me 10 times market price for a walker then claimed I couldnβt return it when she told me I could. Stay away.

Im not giving them any stars. I had to pick one star in order to post this review. I returned the rented equipment on May 20th. Over 30 days later I still have not received my refundable deposit back. After multiple phone calls and emails I was told the credit was issued last week. That week has come and gone and I still dont have my money. It doesnt take over a week for any bank to issue a credit to someone elses account. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. If that doesnt work, I will file a small claims petition against Rice Village Medical Supply where I will ask for way more money than the refundable deposit was. Shame on them for holding on to my money unnecessarily!
This business is practicing price gouging ! Avoid at all costs. Report this business to the attorney general for price gouging. They charged $53 for 2 nasal cannulas for an oxygen machine when the typical price is $5-10 per nasal cannula. Bad business! Shut this place down.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with this provider. Oxygen and the lack therof is life threatening. If you have this problem you know exactly what it is like to panic because you cannot breath and that makes it even worse. I picked up an O2 concentrator at their office ( in Houston) because they had not delivered it within the 3 hours they asked me to wait at my nieces home. I had flown in from DC that day to travel on from Houston to see a friend.Well... when I arrived at my friends home in Victoria... 3 hours away... they had NOT included a WALLPlug. My Doctor has me on oxygen anytime I sleep: nap, etc. I called to tell them it was missing and they took one to my nieces house without even calling me back ... it was left on her porch they said at 22:00 pm! I called them on Sunday/ no room on voicemail/ Monday and Tuesday... same result and no return call. I finally got through to Amber on Wed and she said they had left one on the porch in Houston. She failed to listen at all to what so was trying to explain. When I finally returned the machine on Saturday, I told Alan I thought it most unprofessional/ unethical/ unfair that they had already charged me for an entire week and I could not use the machine from Sat. TomSaturday. I was being asked to pay full price for NOTHING and it was 100% their mistake. I hope their customers read this review and check anything you rent from them because THEY donβt and will charge you in spite of THEIR failure to provide the service required. I will never do business w this Company again and plan to also report this to the Houston Better Business Bureau!!
Agree with you Jo Clem. When I called Conroe Medical Center last night, a nice young lady answered the phone, Rice Medical Center. After checking her system, she said my sister wasnβt in her system. Asked if they had merged or been bought out since she answered with a different name. She said no. Asked me what number U called & I told her. She asked me to call the same number back & speak with someone else. Thatβs when I got the rude Amber. She immediately went to b mode when I gave her my sisters name. When I asked her if this was Amber, she hesitated then said yes. I proceeded to yell at her for calling my mother 6 times & screaming at her. 3 of the calls were voice mails & recorded. She threatened my 82 year old mother. I in turn told her to never contact my mother again or yell at her or I would be calling the authorities on her for abuse to the elderly. This sounds like a call center & you just never know who you are going to get. Customer Service doesnβt exist. I asked for a manager to contact me, but no one has even bothered to call back a week later.
Plus: They are open on Sunday when most medical supply stores are closed. They are also extemely friendly.Negative: They charged me $175.09 for a 10 pack of 1 piece ostomy bags. This exact brand and box would have only cost me $35 online or $59 at any other medical supply store. Also, when I got home I found out there were only 9 bags in the box. Very disappointed!

The gentleman that answered the phone was condasending. Gave him the information and he need a part number. Said I would call him back. He left it ringing twice in a row and did not answear. He called me and wanted information. Gave it to him and spelled it five times and he asked again. Lost it with him and said to him to go to Hell.I hung up and and he called back. Did not take phone call. Then he started with texting. This is not a person I want to meet our have dealings with.May have been wrong on the sixth attempt to tell him to go to hell. Yet he is the one calling and texting me now. Six text enough.Just over somthing that is a part of his normal job, he seems unable to addreess.Poor and scary customer service.
