Wow! If I could give Sylvan Cypress ten stars, I would! We have used a number of their services and each time, the experience has been excellent. The tutors are so wonderful. One of my kids was actually sad after the last math session with Mr. Antonio. Meeting with him had become a daily highlight! Alysha is superbly professional and has a way of making you feel like youre the only client she has. The progress reports, the quick responses to questions, and the way she shared in the joy of our successes (can you say, 150 point boost on the SAT?) made this worth every penny. We would use Sylvan Cypress again in a heartbeat and we probably will!

Enrolling our child at Sylvan was one of our best decisions. Our child was behind in recognizing words and reading in Elementary School. He has been with Sylvan for about a year now and his reading, comprehension skills improved a lot and he is now at the reading level that the school recommends. Thanks to the teaching and administrative staff at Sylvan (Cypress Location) for their continued support in helping my child overcome his difficulties in language arts.

We are so very pleased and couldnt be happier with the progress our daughter has made since starting at Sylvan Learning Center, the Queenston Blvd campus. An evaluation was done, a few gaps were found, and a plan was made to fill in those gaps. Our daughters grades have improved significantly, she is enjoying the process, and she leaves her sessions with a smile. We have regular meetings with the Directors regarding her progress. Sylvan Cypress has been a true blessing for my daughter. She has gained confidence in school and has improved so much with her reading comprehension. We are on our way to second grade and are now on track!

They have really helped my daughter with her math. She was so discouraged and could not learn new concepts since she didnt have a grasp on the old ones. They have caught her up, increased her confidence, and started moving forward into next years concepts. We are kept informed with her progress and get to help tweak the work plans based on what we are seeing at home. I absolutely recommend them especially if your child does not bounce back from failures easily!

STAY AWAY!!! horrible service I have been for fingerprints three times for different reasons, and each time the service got worst,appointments are useless they are always behind, I finally realized that they just dont care when the last fingerprint guy was never trained and all the wait and fingerprint I took were rejected, I had to reschedule for more torture. I had to bring it to the manager, but she so busy with sylvan she couldnt do anything. My advice is to stop offering this service until you have quality trained staff that can provide the service, stop the lobby/parking lot back up, and take responsibility!!!

My family and I came to know Sylvan early on when my little brother was falling behind in the 4th grade. My parents enrolled him in tutoring sessions and his grades improved greatly. Knowing the quality of the staff and the tutors, I trusted Sylvan to help me prepare for the SAT and ACT. The schedules were very flexible, the material was well-structured and relevant, and the tutors were great (shoutout to Antonio). I couldnt ask for more, a mix of hard work plus great help, boosted my SAT score 110 points. I thank the whole Sylvan staff for helping me and I am proud to say that with their help, I have been accepted into Colorado School of Mines, where I will be attending to earn my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Our son had always struggled so much in reading in consequence of his learning disability and ADHD. He had no confidence and felt very frustrated because he couldn’t read like the other kids of his same age. We heard about Sylvan and decided to give them a try. Taking our son to Sylvan Learning Center was one of the best decisions we could have made for him. He started showing progress in a short period of time. We never thought he could improve so fast as he was very behind in his reading. Our son loves his teachers and always arrives to Sylvan very happy. We love the systematic structure the whole learning process is based on. The monthly teacher’s conference is especially valuable. We have a great understanding of what my daughter has been learning and whether or not she is progressing at the right speed. The care and encouragement we got from both directors are so precious to both our daughter and us as parents.

My 7 year old daughter who had ADHD, speech issues and Epilepsy has been attending Sylvan for several months now! We enrolled her as she was severely behind and knew she needed more than just what we provided at home and in her extra time at the elementary. Since we have enrolled her, we have seen so much great improvements, along with all her elementary teachers. The staff at Sylvan is amazing, they walk you through everything, keep you posted on the progress (can show you with the tests they take after so many sessions). Not to mention, they have several payment options, they are not there for the money, they truly are there to help the kids! Can’t say enough amazing things about Sylvan !

Taking my daughter to Sylvan Learning of Cypress was one of the best decisions we could have made for her academic success. Through Sylvans seriously amazing program and super-caring professionals, they were able to pinpoint her skill gaps very quickly and close them. I am a college student taking all of my classes online. This semester was my third time taking a pre-algebra after having to drop the class two previous times because I was failing the class. The Sylvan Learning Center’s ACT study course was the most important investment and decision we have ever made as it relates to our son’s college education.Our son had his sights set on the University of Maryland, with one of the most prestigious business schools in the country, and with students who score an average of 28-34 on their ACT. Before starting the study course at Sylvan Learning Center in Cypress, TX last summer, he had a score of 24. We wondered if the price would be worth it, and whether the class would get his score high enough to even be considered for acceptance into Maryland. Natalie Hawkins, the director, as well as her staff bent over backwards to make sure our son succeeded. They worked hard with him during class, and also guided him on how to study materials and take online practice tests outside of class, too. He finished the course, scored a 28, and got accepted into the University of Maryland!We can’t thank Sylvan Learning Center enough for everything Natalie Hawkins and her team did for our son. His entire life and future have been changed for the better because of Sylvan’s dedicated team who spent one summer with our son.

I cant say enough good things about this Sylvan Learning Center. They are thorough in their assessment process and spent time going over it with us so we understood exactly where our grandchild was and what to work on to advance further. They are professional, pleasant and a place that he likes to go and he is learning! We wanted to make sure when he started the new school year that he was feeling confident in his reading skills and at the reading level that corresponded with his grade level for the beginning of the school year. They accomplished what they told us they would and we intend to continue this supplemental resource in the future.

We brought our 2nd grader to Sylvan after lots of tears, frustration, and feelings of defeat. He had failed two classes in each of the first two 9 weeks of the school year. We had tried everything under the sun, and nothing seemed to be working so we brought him to Sylvan. Wow how things have changed!!! As I write this, he now has all As and Bs. His confidence has grown tremendously. The tears of frustration have turned to smiles and excitement each day he brings home good grades. This is one of the best things you can do for your kiddo! I normally hate school but at Sylvan actually had a good time. Really interactive classes that made it easy to love the teachers and learn a lot. I felt really confident after my ACT program and saw a big jump in my scores. Thanks to all the great people that helped me there this summer!!

Sylvan team and their tutors were great to work with. They helped my daughter w/ Calculus towards the end of the senior year and her understanding was improved tremendously for doing well on her final exam. Since attending Sylvan,my sons confidence and love for learning has soared. Sylvans approach filled in the gaps of phonics and basic math computation he lacked at his school. The educational atmosphere is patient and supportive by meeting his specific needs. The staff greets each student by first name upon arrival which gives them a since of value while at the learning center. I am confident my son while enter second grade with the skills needed to be successful. He has even asked if he could go to school there instead!

What a blessing Sylvan has been for our daughter!!Homework was always a struggle and left all of us feeling frustrated. I didnt know how to get through to her. She had zero confidence in math. We started Math Edge at Sylvan towards the very end of her 1st grade year to help build her up in math basics. At the start of 2nd grade, when they first get letter grades, she had a very low C. All of her other grades were As. We knew she was smart, she was just lacking confidence as she had decided she was never going to be good at math :(After meeting with the director, and involving her math teacher, we were able to have her continue building on math basics, but also tailor her tutoring to go along with what they were currently working on in school. By the end of her first semester, she had gone from a low C to breaking through to an A!!!! She now has confidence in herself with math. That is HUGE. Homework is no longer a struggle and the amazing grades that come home from school every week are a constant reminder that this is so worth it. Absolutely wish we would have done this sooner. We plan to continue with the math tutoring for our daughter and want to have our son join as soon as he is old enough.Thank you, Sylvan!

My daughter had a wonderful experience at Sylvan. She enjoys going to tutoring, which says a lot because my daughter does not like school. She is always smiling and happy when she is there. I love the staff at Sylvan. They are so friendly and helpful. My daughter always says how nice everyone is at Sylvan. I signed her up for tutoring to help build her math skills and confidence. Our family moved from Ohio this year and she was behind in math. It was very frustrating because she did not understand the concepts and homework was a huge struggle. As her mom, it was heartbreaking to see her so upset about school. She is doing better in math and there are no longer tears during math homework. The Sylvan administrators and staff have been wonderful! Our high school age son has spent this summer working VERY hard filling in gaps in his education. My son is having a great experience at Sylvan Center. He is working on Reading and Math, and although the progress may seem slow to me (parent:-)...he is making progress and feeling proud. I am pleased with the outline of his tailored program and we are looking forward to close the gap he experience on these subjects.

Weve been with Sylvan Learning Center on Barker Cypress for 2 years now, we couldnt have found a better place than here. The teachers and staff are amazing and caring, its a stress/ bully free environment for the students and parents, and they are current on technology by using iPads for teaching tools. They have up to 3 students per 1 teacher which means more focus on your child whereas at school its any where between 21-24 students per 1 teacher. They always encourage positive energy from the staff, students, and parents. Most importantly, each month there is a parent conference which allows the parent to stay on top of things before its to late.

Sylvan has done a wonderful job of helping my son catch up on skills that were missed or not taught in school. Hes gained confidence to complete his homework by himself. And he says what hes learned at Sylvan will help him later in life compared to the fact hes not sure where some of the skills he learns at school will help him. He also loves the tokens economy for rewards.

My daughter has only attended 10 lessons and she is now reading much better than when she first started. The staff is very friendly and professional and they certainly make sure you are getting your moneys worth. Definitely recommend

My son has been in this learning center for a month to improve his reading and writing. Before we started tutoring, my son had 60--70 grades in his language art at his middle school. English is our family second language, so it is hard for me to help him at home. Sylvan Learning Center is my first chose to send my kid to. The teachers over there know how to motivate kids to learn. My son told me that he preferred to go the Sylvan instead of his middle school. Now, his grades in school have increased to 80-90. I knew that I made a right decision to ask Sylvan help.

Sylvan of Cypress has a very friendly and transparent staff – they are always available to answer your questions. My son actually looks forward to going to Sylvan, and on a Saturday no less! For once the boy, who could not be bothered to read, is actually excited about it. All thanks to Sylvan!

My son has been attending Sylvan for almost a year. At the beginning of the school year, he was struggling with reading, writing and math. As his parents, we of course were trying everything at home possible to no avail. We were also thinking he had some kind of learning disability and were gearing up for him to have to repeat First Grade. We decided that he need more help that we could give (we are not teachers). Our son started attending Sylvan-Cypress in October with the hopes that it would help him (not necessarily to pass, but to give him more time to mature and a head-start for repeating First Grade). With the help at Sylvan-Cypress (Anne, Amber, and Sylvan instructors) and his teacher at CFISD school all working in conjunction to make sure we are all on the same page and learning cycle to help with his studies. We are thrilled beyond belief how much he has improved from October (it is now May). His passion for learning has exploded along with his grades. He still has a way to go and continues to struggle with handwriting. However, with the continued help from Sylvan, he will be entering Second Grade this Fall with high hopes his struggling will be minimal.

My experience with Sylvan Learning Center has been more than expected. My son is in 3rd grade and started tutoring for reading in January 2016. I enrolled him in the program due to a low grade in reading on his progress report. A couple of weeks ago he receive his progress report for the 3rd nine weeks and I was amazed to see his reading grade improved from an F to a B in only 6 weeks!!! But not only has his grade improved, the staff has managed to improve his confidence, which has made such a difference in his attitude toward not only reading, but all subjects and school in general. One day my son told me, as much as I dont like going to Sylvan after school, I have to admit I think they are helping me.I would like to thank the staff(Ms.Christina, Mr. Mark, Ms. Mary, Mr.Carl and all the other wonderful staff members) for helping, encouraging, and building my sons confidence! My son was having trouble concentrating on reading when he came home he was in home mode and being in K it was crucial that he pick up the skills now before going to 1st grade its been about 2 months and have noticed a big difference! Im very satisfied as he will continue to go for reading and who knows math might be in the future as well :)

My daughter is a sophomore in HS and she really struggled in English and Math. For a while I thought she was being lazy and didnt want to do her school work. After a lot of convincing from family I decided to take to Sylvan and have her tested. I found a lot that she was missing a lot of the foundation needed to be successful in these classes. She began taking classes in November of last yr. Her reading comprehension was on a 3rd grade level and her math was on a 6th grade level. Its now April and my daughter on is now almost on level in both of these skills. She went from making Ds and Fs in these classes to As and Bs. I am so proud of her and her success. Sylvan played a huge roll in her success. She is now very happy about school and now even participating more in class. Im so grateful to the wonderful ladies at Sylvan for all of there help in getting my daughter back on track. The ladies are very nice and extremely helpful. If your child is struggling in school dont just assume they are being lazy. Bring them here they may just need to build their foundation in certain subjects. Both of my sons have taken Sylvans SAT prep course and improved their scores considerably. They took the course during the summer between 10th and 11th grade and scores went up about 200 points for each. With online access to study materials throughout the year, great teachers and staff, plus schedules that work well for parents, I would highly recommend!!

My daughter is in the 4th grade and started with Sylvan because we just couldnt seem to stay in pace with the curriculum. I saw improvements in my daughter as a student within weeks. Her confidence improved as well as her grades! It was worth the financial investment and sacrifice our family had to make.

We have been very pleased with the progress of our girls in Slyvans reading and comprehension program. Our girls have spent the last two years in an international school overseas. We were concerned that they would not be up to date on the State standards here in Texas. Our 7 year old is reading with more confidence and understanding. Our 9 year old is enjoying learning new things. She is becoming more familiar with the terminology used here in Texas for learning comprehension and reading skills. They both love going to Slyvans. They make learning fun, even when I get confused. The updates on their progress through the program is very helpful. They have provided much needed structure for our girls during this transition time. We feel like we made a worthwhile investment in our childrens education. Thanks Slyvan!

I have been very pleased thus far with my experience with Sylvan. My children have recently started and have already shown progress in their subjects. I have found the staff to be very accomodating and willing to work with you and your child. I appreciate the feedback associated with their progress. I am able to meet monthly or more often if needed to review their progress and where they are with the goals. The kids really like atmosphere and the instructors. I appreciate that there is someone there to explain and guide them. We also do Kumon and although the rote repition is also of value, I have found that they do not have the same level of support for questions, concerns, and troubleshooting with daily assignments.

This center has been great for my special daughter. She had problems in school with her attention and retention and the teachers at Sylvan have helped her improve in so many areas. She is making positive progress in reading and math with their specialized program created for her specific needs. She loves the positive reenforcement she gets every time she goes there and even looks forward to it!Now my teenage daughter is getting help with her SAT preparations and mid-term finals. We highly recommend this company to help your children meet thier scolastic goals!

My daughter was a B C D student at her elementary school. We had morning and afternoon tutoring for her by teachers there. I knew she was smarter then the grades show. One day shopping at HEB I saw Sylvan and went in to talk to them about her. The staff there are incredible, nice, sweet, and understanding. My daughter took there test and was reading in 3rd grade level and was about to graduate 5th grade. I didnt want to see her struggle in jr high. So we became committed to Sylvans program and after 6 months or more, my daughter made the A & B honor roll. Her lowest grade was 87.4. We have seen her confidence and self esteem grow because of Sylvan. We she talks she talked in longer sentences and very detail. She is now reading 7 & 8 grade level. She never complains about going to tutoring there. She loves every teacher there and staff worker. Just put my middle son on this program, he saw how much his little sister has learned and ask if we could put him in it to. So far in three weeks he has also improved a lot and we didnt know he was behind on some skills. His a freshmen in high school and enjoys Sylvans helping him catch up on the skills he is behind on. My son is in 3rd grade and this was the year of testings and a huge step up on getting down to buisness in school. I saw early on, his grades began to slip just below level and wanted him to have help before he got too behind and discouraged. He started at Sylvan Barker Cypress in the fall and now he chooses to read for fun and I have no problems asking him to do his homework. He also enjoys the prizes at Sylvan he can earn if he finishes his work there. The price is a little steep for a normal family budget, and we will be paying the tuition loan far after our son has checked out of there (which is why I didnt give the 5 stars). The parking is a crazy mess in the evenings, which is really not their fault, but maybe they can work out a pick-up/drop-off somewhere in the back of the building for the childrens safety and parents sanity. My sons grades did not jump dramatically but he kept his head just above water. We stayed consistent with the program til his hours were up. I felt like if we hadnt gotten help from somewhere he wouldve fallen below average, this justified the negatives I had.
