Used a Better Tripp for a move back in the middle of COVID in 2020, cant believe I forgot to leave a review (until now) for the wonderful job the team did for me. They were careful with my belongings on a long haul move from Houston to NYC, and were accommodating to my requests for a remote move as I did not feel safe traveling up to my new home yet. When I finally got up to my place 5 months later, I honestly was expecting the worst, but everything was there. And everything was intact. It was such a great feeling of money well spent with this company and I highly recommend them and will use them the next time I make a long haul move. Thank you

Earlier this year, these guys pulled together a TX->CA move for me on short notice, at a competitive price. I had found them recommended on Reddit, and was not disappointed. Melvin Parker was responsive, organized, and incredibly helpful with advice on the packing, move, storage, and auto transport. The packers did a great job, and everyone managed to stay within my tight schedule.This was all incredibly refreshing after a different company gave my girlfriend a very stressful experience and poor service in her part of the move just a month earlier.Definitely adding my recommendation for A Better Tripp.

My family has been moving back and forth from the West coast a bunch of times and it has always been Jose. Jose is super trustworthy and reliable that I totally relax when I know hes the one in charge. In the last move we could not find an expensive item and Jose came back after work and helped us find the item going thru each of the other boxes. This is a family business and the team has been with the business for a long time this makes all the difference.

They were fast and very efficient. They wrapped the furniture and did not complain at all when I micro managed. I have hired the wrong company to move before. The team was courteous, on time and able to move a 700+ pound baby grand piano with 3 people (in town move, about 25 miles). I am glad I chose A Better Tripp Moving and Storage as I have never heard of them before, but did see other good reviews online. They are legit.

I was recommended this service from a friend who stated their were a good company. The movers packaged and stored my everything thoroughly and efficiently. Upon arrival to deliver to the new residence, some things were unexpectedly damaged during the move. The management Melvin replied quickly with their claims department to compensated me for the items to make sure everything ran smoothly. This is a really good company and would recommend them to future movers. They back their policy 100 percent. If you chose them you will not be disappointed.

We had a few hiccups with the amount of time it took the guys to move us, but everything got there in good shape. The guys did a great job with wrapping our parents furniture and they moved them carefully. After speaking with the owner, they made things right. We appreciate their willingness to listen and resolve the problem.

Our truck driver was Jose and he was excellent!! He kept in constant communication with us. When he arrived at our destination, he was able to maneuver his semi into very tight spaces. We recently moved from Cypress to the Hill Country. Prior to the move, Melvin came out and reviewed everything that we were moving. He determined we needed two trucks. The day of the move Darrel and Jorge and their team arrived earlier than the scheduled time. They worked all day wrapping furniture and moving items. The next morning they left Houston early and were here before the scheduled time of 9:00 am. This team was excellent. They had great attitudes, friendly and were very careful with all our belongings. I have used other companies to move. A Better Tripp was by far the best value. They were easy to schedule. Provided an appropriate quote. No surprises. They arrived on time and finished much sooner than expected. They coordinated the move with my office building manager for a smooth move. I just had to point where furniture went. I seriously could not thank them enough for this very large move! They moved our entire law office with ease despite them having to coordinate with building management, showing proof of their insurance requirements to both buildings, and having to coordinate loading docks, etc. And, they did all of this with a smile on their face and nothing seemed to stump them. Nicely done! When their workers showed, 100% of them were genuine and caring. They moved the entire office without a scratch. Even though the move lasted until 2:00AM, all of them were happy to help and not one of them seemed frustrated that it was so large it was taking a long time. Absolutely recommend and great job!!

A Better Tripp recently moved us and they did a fabulous job. The Silva team showed up on time and immediately started packing things in my house after assessing things that I wanted moved. The following, extremely cold, morning they showed up early with smiles on their faces ready to finish packing and start loading. A Better Tripp has a knack for hiring people who make your move pleasant and smooth. The leadership qualities of the crew chiefs are extraordinary as they always manage to coax the crew to do the near impossible. They moved our goods some very delicate from a large home to storage a year ago and returned them to our new home last month. There were some communication issues and some items may need touching up because of storage issues, but over all they delivered on their promise. These moves are difficult and they never backed off of anything. Stay in communication with the crew chief!

Even though this move was relatively small, equivalent to a small 1 bedroom apartment, I wanted a professional team. That’s exactly what I got with A Better Tripp. The office worked with me to find a convenient time and were courteous when I needed to push back the date. A Better Tripp was amazing! They were the most stress-free part of our move from Texas to Tennessee. Everything was accounted for and nothing was broken. They showed up when they said they would on both ends of the move. They day we were moving in, the weather forecast was calling for some pretty serious storms. Recently, our daughter moved out of the rent house she had lived in for several years into her own first house. She doesnt throw anything away so there were a ridiculous amount of boxes. Notwithstanding all this, the moving crew handled everything without a hitch. They were on time, loaded everything on the truck in a timely fashion, and got it all unloaded quickly. They also had a great attitude, despite her indecision and re-placement of furniture at the new house. We have used A Better Tripp Movers on multiple occasions in the past, both for office and personal moves, and every time they have come through with a quality job that was economical given the amount of work involved. We will continue to use them whenever the need arises. Good job David Tripp for building a great company with tremendous, hard working employees!

I contacted A Better Tripp Moving Co. after passing one of their trucks on the interstate. I like to use local family owned businesses with good reviews. We were new to Houston and they were excellent! I spoke with Linda who was very courteous and informative. I had some very large antique pieces, including a marble top buffet. Roselle and his team did a fantastic job at meticulously disassembling and wrapping the large marble top. They moved it seamlessly, as well as the other pieces. In our situation we had next day delivery and Roselle even played childrens music while unloading to entertain my two year old. We used Better Tripp Moving to move into our first home this month. They were extremely accommodating - as we went from an apartment to a house, while making a stop at a storage unit. The gentleman that were helping us that day were WONDERFUL and so helpful! I am pregnant and wasn’t able to do a whole lot, so it was very nice and so assuring to know our things were in great hands!

We have moved across country several times over the years, but this move, from Houston to rural Washington state, was the trickiest! Our new community is remote enough that I was having trouble finding anyone who would take the job! THANKFULLY, my neighbor referred me to ABT! Because our new town didn’t have conditioned storage, we had ABT store our belongings in their vault in Houston until our new house was ready. When we were able to receive our belongings 7 months later, everything arrived on time and in good condition. Everything was quickly unloaded and furniture set up, with virtually NO damage, other than a couple of lampshades. The staff at ABT couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. I highly recommend them!

These movers performed exactly as they said they would. We shipped a small load of 13 large boxes from Wayne, NJ to Truckee, CA. Other moving companies either refused a small load, would use more than one mover, or would charge over $1,000 more than A Better Tripp.They picked up on time, packed carefully, delivered on time, nothing was damaged. They charged what they had estimated. The salesman and the operations person were personable and effective. I highly recommend them. I would use them again.

This is the BEST moving company I have ever used....and I have moved over 8 times!!! First of all, Melvin is my go to guy when needing to schedule! He helped us move my parents out after the hurricane & back in, one year later.... and we kept changing the days MANY TIMES, yet, Melvin was SO very patient!! This company is great! They itemize and explain all charges in the initial quote. If something happens to go wrong or there is a change, the company will amend the bill and explain the changes. Moved large one bedroom, 3rd floor apartment to 2 story single-family home on a miserably hot July day. Quote was quite competitive with other reputable companies and scheduling the move was easy. Movers arrived on time, were professional, and finished within the expected time range. Everything arrived at the new address without a scratch on it, and nothing - not even one single dish - was broken during the move. Would highly recommend.

Nice, neat gentlemen arrived and got right down to business. There was no chit-chatting, cutting up and I dont think they were going to take a lunch break, but i insisted. They packed everything carefully and there was not one item missing or broken when i unpacked. They made sure i did not lift anything and the things that were heavy, they put in a place that was easy for me to get to. The ONLY company we call for our moves! I have had A Better Tripp move me three times in the last 10 years: twice for work and once for my home. They are fast, they are efficient, they are careful, and the guys are super to work with. The most recent move was last week, moving my office and warehouse inventory. They were very careful to make sure the warehouse inventory was boxed and marked so that the items were moved together and put in the new space together, so that I was able to organize the new space very quickly, without having to hunt for boxes of like items. I will never call anyone else!

I ordered two trucks and 4 men. The crew was on-time, polite, and quick. Fantastic!However, the Sales Rep was quite rude. When the crew arrived they gave me an estimate that was 50% more than what the phone rep quoted (6hrs verse 9 hours). Two days prior, I had provide the sales-rep a comprehensive moving inventory list (100 boxes, 30 bags, yard tools, furnitures, etc..). I can understand if it’s 1 hour off, but 3 hours!So I called the office (same sales-rep answered) to explain the situation, “Why did you give me a quote that was so way off….”. She said there’s no way she can provide an accurate quote. Then the next sentence from her was, “..Do you want me to call off the move?” Wow! She knew very well that I wasn’t in the position to cancel. Regardless, an apology would have been good enough for me, but I got a slap in the face.I plan to move again within 6 months when we buy our new home. I really like the crew, but I’m not sure if I want to talk to your sales rep again.Regards,-James

We were able to get our daughters things moved across country at a price that beat everyone else by hundreds of dollars. They even were able to accommodate our special needs in getting her things from storage. The men who made the delivery were polite and eager to serve. I called this company, and was happy that they had someone come out to my home for a move estimate. Everyone else just wanted to give me phone estimates. My move will be from the Houston area to Arizona. When Melvin arrived we went through my belongings and I commented how quickly he was taking notes. I don’t have a lot of furniture...maybe equal to a two and a half bedroom home and 50-60 cartons. I felt confident that he knew what he was doing and he seemed like he would be fair and accurate in his assessment. WRONG! This estimate was so far out of kilter that it looked like he just didn’t want the business......twice....actually more that twice what other estimates had been.....,even though I made sure that all the other estimates were based on much higher and worse case scenarios as they pertain to my household belongings. When I tried to reach Melvin for a clarification, he was unavailable and has not returned calls. The bottom line here is: I know that this company has the right to provide any estimate it chooses, but why go through the charade and if you don’t want the business, SAY SO. I thought that going with a local company was the right thing to do...I was wrong.

My husband and I have moved 6 times with A Better Tripp and we both highly recommend them to everyone we know. They are honest, reliable and have not damaged anything to date. We will use them on all our moves in the future and recommend them to clients, friends and family.

If you need the services of a moving company whether local or across country I can’t say enough great things about the A Better Tripp movers. From the guy on the phone to the truck driver you can tell they all take pride in their job and company and want to ensure your move is the best experience. I used their services to move furniture from Virginia Beach back to Houston. I was nervous because I had a number of irreplaceable antique pieces from East Germany and Eastern Europe acquired while stationed in Berlin in the late 80’s and fragile items such as a nearly 70 year old 7x5 ft scroll map of East and West Berlin that once hung on the wall in a US military headquarters and a large antique display cabinet with glass doors. Everything was well prepped and secured, A Better Tripp treated every item with the upmost care. The driver and crew were friendly and amazingly efficient and quick. After the truck was unloaded the driver reassembled my furniture and placed it wherever I wanted it. Awesome company, awesome service I highly recommend A Better Tripp!

We wish to express our appreciation to the men who work for A Better Tripp Moving Company. They have moved us several times with the last being after our home had been flooded. They are always punctual, friendly, and more than willing to do the extra that makes moving easier on us. We certainly would use them again when we move.

I wanted to give A Better Tripp Moving and Storage a good rating initially. They were quick to respond to my initial inquiries and packed and delivered my belongings after my mother’s death quickly.However, once my belongings arrived, I realized that a large, heavy, tile wall hanging was missing. This was a piece that the head packer took an interest in when he came to pack up my Mom’s apartment. Although I have called and reported the item missing, the company has been unable to locate it and has not responded to me unless I call them inquiring about the item. This has gone on for several months and I am assuming at this point that I will not get the wall hanging back.If you use this company, watch the packers like a hawk and make sure they label everything they put in boxes and that they list all the boxes and items they pack on the manifest. I assumed the head packer was being professional and honest, but obviously he was not. It cost me an item of not only sentimental value, but also an item of irreplaceable value because of where the tiles came from originally.2/21/19: I am following up on my initial review and the response by Terri Tripp to my review. I am NOT SATISFIED with your company’s response to my stolen item. You never located my wall hanging and reimbursed me $15.00 for it by weight. (I had not taken out additional insurance, as the lead packer knew.) The amount is a joke and not even worth cashing.Terri, you have thief amongst your crew and the worst part of it, for you all, is that he is a member of the family. You’ve allowed him to get away with stealing, so chances are he’ll do it again, if he hasn’t already. Shame on him, and shame on you and your company. It’s too bad you don’t believe your customers.So, I reiterate...if you use this company, watch the packers like a hawk, get detailed descriptions of what is in each container, and triple check the number of boxes listed on the packing manifest with the actual number of boxes. Always a pleasure working with Better Tripp. This is the third time Ive used them and they never disappoint. Came early, and picked and packed all my stuff. Dropped the stuff after giving me 48 hours notice, so Id time to prepare for their arrival. Good job and keep it up!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY-- I believe they are deceptive in their policies & practices.. I spoke with Melvin(Sales) a couple of times on the phone, but he never wanted to answer my emails and provide responses in writing. He claimed a lot that his company would deliver, but I became increasingly concerned with his answers and non responsiveness... Most importantly, he claimed I did not need insurance(added protection beyond the state required .60/ lb) but I inquired about coverage for $25k and $50k and was told by Melvin additional coverage was .15/$1,000. So when I was planning to finalize my move requested $15k in total for additional coverage(since it was a local move within 15 miles) but was told by Melvin that there was a minimum of $20k per truck, which had NEVER been mentioned by him and he knew the volume of my goods and that two trucks were needed to complete the job.. When asked about the minimum, Melvin never provided an explanation, so I canceled my move with them. My belief is he did not want me to insure my items so he demanded a minimum which would cost me more so he thought I would not add the coverage, oh Melvin you were so deceptive and wrong.. When a company is unresponsive to documenting inquiries and providing explanation to policies, then they should be questioned and possibly investigated.. Basically they wanted to increase the required coverage cost so I would not purchase the added protection and they would not be liable to damages... Would not use this company since their management can not be trusted... Can you imagine the workers?? In the end I chose another company and all worked well..

A Better Tripp recently moved me over a 1000 miles. They arrived at my house on time and handled several sets of china and some furniture like it was their own! I was impressed. They worked hard and loaded that truck in only a few hours. After a delay for some truck issues, the furniture arrived in excellent condition. None of the china or furniture had any chips or scratches. The total breakage: the handle on the dryer vent! Thats it! If I move again, I will definitely use them!

Couldnt have had an easier move at a very difficult time after the Houston flooding. Melvin and everyone I talked with was very kind and helpful even when they were deluged (no pun intended) with calls with people trying to salvage and move what survived the flood. I bought packing materials from them and they picked up and moved our boxes very quickly and safely. Highly recommend!

The movers arrived right on time.They were very polite and professional asking us to show exactly what was to be moved from each room.The guys wrapped and taped each peace of furniture . Even scuffed up old chairs. Theyre moved 2 bedroom suites,living room, dining set and washer,dryer . Everything done in 4 hours without any breaks. We were very pleased and would recommend them to our friends and family.

Better Tripp was OUTSTANDING from start to finish. Allen was excellent as a move consultant and worked his schedule to accommodate ours. Even better, the four man crew - Lupe, Edgar, Jose, Rafael - outworked Allens estimate. They were careful with and respectful of our belongings and home (new and old); everything was moved without a single issue - nothing broken, dented or even scratched. They exceeded expectations and helped our move come in under budget. I would highly recommend A Better Tripp and particularly Allen and Lupe, Edgar, Jose and Rafael as a four-man crew. Top notch. Id recommend them to family and friends.

If it was possible to award 10 stars, I would. Our two man team moved us seamlessly out of our second floor condo and into our new second floor condo. The stairs were narrow and the furniture heavy, but their attitudes and polite demeanor never wavered. I cannot compliment Juan Carlos and Douglas enough. They also took additional care to wrap each piece of furniture with a moving blanket that they secured with packing tape. All of our furniture, despite the small spaces, arrived in mint condition. We watched other people at our condo move, and their movers were uncouth, messy, and careless. We were so thankful that our movers were, kind, courteous, and careful. 6 Stars for being professional liars.I used disreputable, destructive A Better Tripp in 2007. They packed and stored the contents of my home for 4 months. When they delivered my property, suddenly it had to be done in 2 trips.David Tripp, nor the warehouse people told me my property had been damaged by, what they later claimed to be a leaking A/C in their warehouse. Instead, they took the extra day-plus to re-box items, concealing the damage, and deliver it to me in boxes no one would know had water damage.Furniture was also destroyed.While packing my house, I was told one of their guys was seen going through my handbag. When I learned of that, I called and told them. The response: Oh, he was probably just looking for pills. He does that, so dont worry.AND, nope, they never paid a single penny to compensate me for their services or the damages.***I see the company response--No records. Theres a surprise. I sued you! Ring any bells now? ***Unfortunately, this doesnt allow me to reply to this outfits response, so this is an edit.DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Ive used A Better Tripp twice now for moves in the Houston region. Both times went well and I didnt have any damage to my property. The second move took a little longer than I expected, but I did have them take apart and reassemble a crib which took a little extra time as well as move into a second floor condo. Overall a good experience.

Ive used A Better Tripp twice now. The first time was four years ago; I got a quote in writing because I had been ripped off by movers so many times before, I decided I wanted to go a different route and pay by weight. The movers packed and unpacked, in addition to moving.It was wonderful - professional, polite and as quick as it could be without breaking anything. It really cut down on the time I would spend unpacking and saved my back. They didnt charge me a dime over the quote.The second time I moved I just had A Better Tripp do the loading and unloading, and was charged by the hour. The guys didnt play games to get more hours - a reasonable lunch and breaks, and they worked as fast as people moving heavy furniture can. The guys were SUPER polite and easy to work with.They accidentally charged me $125, that I didnt notice. About 30 minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and the head-mover told me I was overcharged, corrected it/had me sign the paper, and was on his way. I was very impressed with his honesty.I could not be happier with either move. They were my first ever good experiences with great movers. Not one item was broken! I highly recommend either payment style with A Better Tripp. Happy moving!

I need a 6th star! We absolutely loved working with A Better Tripp.! We have never been moved so professionally before. These guys are the real deal. They moved my family last month and they did a great job. They moved every item with great care. Everything was moved within the given time and there were no damages or any extra fees in the end. I had a great experience with A Better Tripp moving from Houston to Los Angeles - particularly with the two guys who both picked up and dropped off my stuff - Mike (Skinny) and Tim. They were incredibly friendly and responsible, and took good care of all of my stuff, making sure to wrap all the furniture carefully with blankets or putting loose pillows in boxes. They made the whole experience so much less stressful than it could have been, and we actually managed to have fun getting it all packed into the truck.My one complaint would just be about the office administration because the office was incredibly slow in processing my paperwork - I had to call multiple times just to get them to send first the quote and then the contract - and they only got it to me at the last possible moment. But I liked that it really felt like a neighborhood business where people were genuine and true to their word.

We used this company several years ago to move into our current home and they were awesome. So when it came time to move again we called them up. I called 2 months ahead of our move date. We were moving from a large home and downsizing to a smaller home. I worked with Melvin. I told Melvin the square footage of the current home, told him we had a lot of stuff, and told him that I would pack as much as I could but wanted them to pack the rest. Melvin told me to call back as it got closer to our arranged date. I thought he would come out and look at how much was left and how much there was to move. When I called back closer to the move date, I told Melvin I had only been able to pack about 75% of our items. He arranged to have 1 team show up and asked me if that was enough. I told him I had no idea. He tried to convince me to pack up our pictures, mirrors, etc and I told him I wanted them to do that. No one ever came out to see how much there was to move. Melvin suggested 2 trucks. I had no idea how many trucks or how big the trucks should be since that is not my job. They arrived on time the Saturday morning of the move and they started out great. They were very careful with our stuff. They worked all day but it became obvious they were not going to finish. I was then told that they already had a job for Sunday so they would not be able to finish until Monday. Melvin tried to convince me that was better since weekdays are cheaper. Too bad he didnt tell me that ahead of time. He told me I would have to pay for travel time and distance for the second day too. They ended up giving me a discount on that because I was so upset to have to be moving a second day. The movers finally decided to go ahead and move the items they had already packed. We went across town and it was almost midnight by the time they unpacked everything. On Monday, the same crew showed up but it was obvious that they were exhausted. They told me they had worked 16 hours on Sunday too. They proceeded to throw the remaining items all together in boxes. Garage items with inside household items. Brooms and mops with our weight room items. They broke the frame on my antique vanity. They chipped the front of one of my dressers. They wrapped items with tape to hold them together. I was very disappointed with this moving experience, which is sad because they did such a good job for us in the past. I would not recommend them after this experience.

Wonderful company to work with! The personnel in the office and the movers were incredible people that worked very hard to make sure we were taken care of. The movers themselves were considerate and polite and I was VERY impressed!

Smoothest move Ive ever had. They treated my things like their own. Lots of antiques and family heirlooms, and everything arrived without a scratch. I called over, because I was moving from Houston to Austin in a few days, and other movers were booked that close to moving day. My friend offered to help me unload, but wasnt sure if he was available on Saturday or not, so I called around Houston for a round-trip service, and was referred to A-Better Trip and talked to Allen. He was very helpful and even worked with me to try to fit within my budget. My friend called me right after to say he and someone were available to help me move, so I didnt end up using the service, but I would have and was very impressed with how helpful they were on such short notice.

As everyone knows moving can be pretty stressful sbf trying to figure out who to use can add to that. I met with 3 moving companies before meeting with Melvin from ABT who was able to answer all my concerns and questions. Their quote was clear cut and beat the other companies....no hidden or extra charges. They called to confirm the move the day before and the crew arrived on time. They were wonderful and took great care of my things which they had to store for a couple of weeks before I could move in to my new home. This company was recommended to me by a friend who had moved into the same apartment complex about a year before. They had done extensive research before choosing a mover, and I have to say they were right. I did not have ABT pack anything for me, only move the boxes and furniture, but they did an excellent job. My apartment has some tricky stairs and I have large furniture, but they were able to get everything up safely. The pricing was very reasonable for the level of service they provided, and how quickly I was able to get my things delivered (no waiting hours or even days to receive your things, like with some larger moving companies; they literally just drive the truck right across town and drop off). Overall I am very satisfied with their service and will use them again in the future and recommend to anyone I know that needs a mover.
