The y is a great place to work out, swim, and play in the gymnasium. But the snack vending machines arent working so i lost a dollar (which isnt very much but still) until I realized that it wasnt working.
So much available for such a reasonable price. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Busy but not too crowded and the options allow you to do a great workout by yourself or with a group, with free weights or machines. However you want to workout, it’s great.
Great place to workout. They have 2-3 people walking around always cleaning the used machines.Reading the reviews I have to say that they wipe down the mats after every use. You must wear a mask unless you are doing cardio. If you want to wear you can. There are bottles of cleaner and paper towels thru out the gym.Gym has full equipment. Every bike and treadmill has cable and screens with aps.No join fee and 55 a month is a steal when you compare it to other places. Saturday is half day so it gets busy and most machines are full.
I love everyone’s very helpful! I especially enjoy Sharon Hughes Pilates class because she’s slow flow which is very enjoyable to me. She does an excellent job of explain how to move your body, the benefits and she has a great sense of humor! Just love her “slow flow” style all around. I discovered her 3 yrs. ago and the rest is history!
I love this place, I have new friends, my health is better and trainers are awesome 😎😎.My new space for relaxing 😊😊.It is clean and everybody is nice rigth there.
This is a great YMCA location with ease of free parking and lots of amenities. The pools, child watch, mini playground, lounge, sport classes, and all regular physical activities you can name it. Our favorite location and very open minded and friendly customer service.
Great Wonderful workout and time. I needed that.
The outdoor swimming pool is a great asset with great lifeguards.
Its a nice gym and building. I love the programs offered, but the lady named Kendra who is over the summer camp is so rude and unprofessional. Ive seen her get an attitude when talking to kids and parents. Horrible attitude that doesnt belong at the y
Lots of programs, very affordable and awesome child care program.
I love the Weekly YMCA and the employee team from manager Paige on down. My son and I worked out there 4 - 6 times a week when they reopened and felt safe and secure. Then about 3 weeks ago the Y changed policies and no longer required wearing masks to use the exercise facilities. I spoke with Paige and told her that I am 77 and I cannot afford to be exposed to covid and in fact have lost a friend recently to the virus. I questioned the wisdom of the change which flies in the face of logic but then suggested a simple solution to the problem. Have designated times where masks are not required so that those who do not want to wear masks have a time to utilize the Y. That also allows those who do want to wear masks to continue to utilize the Y. I know I am not the only person who feels this way and if others let their opinions be known maybe they will filter up to the decision makers. It is a cost free way to attract members to utilize their facilities rather than forcing anyone to quit the Y.
LOVE this place. This is the first time I’ve ever joined the YMCA and I am beyond impressed with this facility. I enjoy the variety of classes and wide range of times in which they’re offered, especially since they are included in the cost of membership. The weightlifting Facilities and cardio machines are plentiful and well-maintained. This is a very high-quality facility and I highly recommend. The value for this membership outweighs the value for any other gym membership out there.
This facility is very lax with their own self proclaimed Covid measures. Things I observed on multiple occurrences over the first week:No temperature check upon entering the buildingFans on high, heavy circulation of air.Mats too close together, and despite red/green tags were not being cleaned by either the member-users or the staff that would stand around d watching. Staff refused to ask members to clean mats, or even turn over red/green sticker . . .Aerobic machines lined up in front of each other in rows (not staggered). Many other problems but ran out of space to write here.Machines with red dots not being wiped down as most employees who are supposed to be wiping down stand around. Machines with ref dots stayed uncleaned for most of 1 hour observed
They dont enforce the mask requirement. The front desk staff doesnt wear masks half the time. People who arent actively working out dont wear masks and the employees ignore it. I tried to bring it up to the front desk, while someone didnt have a mask, and they just didnt care.
DO NOT JOIN THEIR MEMBERSHIP!!! They do illegal things. I canceled my membership months ago and changed my card and they still managed to take my money from my new card and won’t get it back. And they lied saying that I I once again open up my membership. If you don’t want your money to be stolen don’t go here.
Nice snack bar
I’ve been aware of it being there for years, not involved until now. It’s wonderfully down-to-earth, everyone is there for a couple of reasons: to work out, and socialize a bit where suitable and convenient. No pretense or grandstanding on anyone’s part, no body-shaming, age-shaming, or slight of any kind. Facilities are more than satisfactory, staff are friendly and helpful. It seems well-organized to make it all about what you’re there for. Completely burden-free. And there WILL be a few things you enjoy!!
All the staff are most friendly and helpful. The facility is always spotless and the equipment up to date and in working order. What more could you want? Okay, maybe a bigger pool for more lap lanes. LOL
Visited the gym on a trip to Houston with my hometown Y membership. The gym was fine - lots of machines all in good condition. Towels are provided, and the hours are longer than my home Y. The pool looked great, too, although I did not have my suit with me.
One of the better free-weight rooms around. They have a Half Rack with band pegs, for those who do serious lifting. Great staff. Very clean & friendly. I come during off-peak hours because I am very strong and need most of the 45# plates. The equipment is constantly updated and kept in top shape. 5 stars if they buy more 45# plates.
I love Weekley, it’s location in a quiet neighborhood, next to a beautiful park, and close to a public library.A full diverse program of group exercises well attended and an active Senior Program under an award winning director.
The front desk girl was very helpful in getting me a guest pass. This is not a large facility, but it gets everything I needed: plenty of shower stalls, gym equipment, and free towels. Didn’t see mould in the shower or in the locker room. The water also tastes really good given it’s from the fountain.
Wonderful yoga and stretching instructors. Everyone from front desk to instructors to workers on 2nd floor everyone is kind and helpful. Love my Y.
The girl Mia at this location was not helpful at all. I asked a simple question and she was so confused and couldnt clarify what she was talking about. Seems they need to train their people better. Im from out of town. She couldnt tell me if I could visit the location or not. Called another location and got a quick, concise, clear response. No problem.
Fits the definition of FAMILY at this location. Good atmosphere for everyone. Staff were very kind and helpful. Will visit here often.
Clean with all the necessary equipments you need. Plus staffs are friendly and helpful.
This is a YMCA - its not a 5 star luxury gym - what it provides is a safe economical place for everyone in the neighborhood. Ive done Tai Chi, watched my friends kids in basketball and volleyball - its really a great asset to the area.
I live in the Heights but I make the extra drive to come to this location. I love the child care facility here. The personal trainers and dietitians here are also amazing. Theyve helped me lose over 20 pounds so far. Cant say enough great things about the Weekley Y!
A great place to workout. Love the classes and they have the latest in equipment.
I love this facility. The equipment is in great condition, the facilities are kept up wonderfully, and the staff are awesome. The child watch area is also fun and full of staff who really seem to love the kids!
It has everything I want in a gym and more. I take spin, tap, power pump, aerobics, Zumba. I have made friends there. Little coffee area to meet after classes. I love it!
My children and I have had a wonderful experience at this Y. The family pool is clean and well supervised by the lifeguards and Juan Nada, the pool manager. Lap pool is only crowded during swim lessons. Child services are excellent. My kids have played Y soccer, baseball and taken karate lessons. Top notch pros here. Adult workout room upstairs is impressive and rarely crowded. Love it!
It is a great place to learn basketball at a young age
The Weekley YMCA is my place to exercise as well as to be involved with helping the community around it. The exercise room is spacious, with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, bicycles, free weights and exercise machines. The staff is friendly. But, the Weekley YMCA is more than a gym, they are a cause. For example, they provide free life-saving swimming lessons to young people, volunteers like me tutor elementary school school students from a nearby ESL Shearn Elementary, and they provide seniors with activities. The list goes on. If youre looking for an affordable gym, look no further, but if youre looking for community involvement, this is the place for you.
Very upset! Have my best friend picking my kid up after camp when the arrival time was suppose to be for 2pm her it is it’s 3pm and no bus arrived and no one is answering the phone so we can see what’s the hold up. When it comes to my kids I am very very very concerned and this is very very very unprofessional! People have stuff to do and have to get back to work! My kid will not be attending this camp anymore and I’m letting it be known in public. This is very poor and I want to speak with the person that over the YMCA ASAP! If I can give you guys no star I would!
My kid goes there right after school nice security play areas and activities
Kid zone is great. workout area is great with lots of machines and equipment. however, showers/locker rooms are small. not enough showers. also, parking is impossible during peak hours.
Great location very friendly and organize I recommend this location.
Locker rooms are awful. Small, not clean, no room to get dressed. Showers flood. Really pretty bad. The overall gym is nice, but there are other YMCAs in not as nice areas of Houston that are way better than this.
Great equipment that is new and up to date unlike a lot of the other gyms in the area. The outdoor swimming pool is also heated and the classes for adults / kids, swim team is great.
Nice local YMCA. Relatively new, with a basketball court, swimming pool, workout rooms/classes, and many machines upstairs. Convenient parking out front.
Front desk very rude and unwelcoming. Doesnt make the effort to help. I have been a loyal customer to the ymca for years and have never been treated this way. If i could give 0 stars i would.
I love the gym here! Staff are also friendly and keep everything very clean.
Bathrooms/locker room could use a little attention but other than that very nice facility, smaller and quieter than other ymcas
They had a lot of open exercise machines and family exercise time is a great way to have fun with the kids.
This has been the worst experience i have had with a YMCA, unorganized, rude and not willing to help rectify their mistakes. if i could give them no stars i would. I will definitely not be back to this y nor recommend.
Friendly staff.; offers a variety of programs/activities that suit all age groups, from the senior customers to little kids. Very family-oriented.
Its cool relaxing fun for my children
No one answers the phone ever! The staff are very lazy! The facility is reasonably clean.
They helped me out so much I really appreciate the staff
Great gym, good spin instructors, very organized weight room, nice people!
Was very frustrated about a hold not being placed while I was out and incongruent schedules posted online that were no longer active at the gym. of the country despite speaking to numerous staff. Ended up being they spelled my last name wrong when signing me up. The Activity Director Jon resolved it within a day. This location is very clean and towels are provided. I joined for the Yoga classes and most of them are okay, one instructor is excellent. Problem is, the class is FULL to the point of people bumping into each other. Parking can be a nightmare here, so take that into consideration if youre wanting to attend classes. They have a huge childcare area that parents can use while working out, which I think is great for all those parents needing a workout.
Great family atmosphere!
I love the YMCAs better than 24 hour...simply because I love to do cardio while watching television. It helps me to stay focused and stay on much longer...I attend 3 locations. Weekley, Trotter and Tellepsen. :) Enjoy your workout
The old crowd in the AM is rough
I visited here a few weeks ago. I did the water slide 5 times, look around the YMCA, went upstairs to the Exercise and had a great time!
Best YMCA in Houston. I have tried every gym out there. From Golds, 24hr, Planet Fitness, Fitness Connection. As a NASM Faculty Member and Personal Trainer Myself, this is the gym where i do my personal workouts. Im a single daddy so i also love their childcare services. To meit seems all the BAD review that are being written are done by disgruntled employees, or people who wanted their money back once they had already used the facility. No facility will ever be perfect...but WEEKLEY is the best bang for your buck in houston!
I love the Bodyvive class with Jace.
Great facility and excellent classes. Only downside 80% of the staff at the reception desk always clueless and very rude.
They never answer the frickin phone! I have called so many times and just get the voice mail recording that wont allow you to leave a message. Frustrating!
My favorite YMCA... the staff is great
My kids having fun YMCA
WHY WONT ANYONE ANSWER THE FRONT DESK PHONE? NOT HAPPY!
Getting my grind on us
Great YMCA
Website needs improvement!
The basketball gym not always open.
Great place!
Awesome gym
Clean, nice staff
I like the place, clean and friendly
