I had such an amazing experience having my wedding gown fitted at Lauras Couture. Karime is the best and made sure the gown was the dress of my dreams!

I made a last minute decision to purchase a gown 2 weeks before my wedding...I know..ridiculous lol. This is the most incredible seamstress/ACTUALLY A DESIGNER, because she altered my gown to perfectly contour my body. She has an eye for perfection & did it with a reasonable rush fee. I couldnt have been happier. Thank you for helping make my wedding more than I couldve imagined!

I was so self conscious about buying my wedding dress and even more when I thought about what I would wear under it. The last thing I wanted to be and feel was lumpy and bumpy on my wedding day. I had a list of things I knew I wanted done but Laura did some magic and made my dress fit so perfectly, this sounds dramatic but it fit so well that it felt like it was a part of me LOL. She added just the right amount of extra boning, I felt so together. The sleeves were done perfectly; I brought in extra appliqué from the vendor. I was very happy with my alterations and would recommend

They truly know what to do and how the dress works and fits. They answered all of our silly questions. When we had to bump up our wedding, they made it happen for us and we couldn’t have been happier.

True story. Tonight was my wedding. I spent $800 on alterations for my wedding dress (more than $1200 between two dresses.). They made it to where the rubber bits originally built into my wedding dress showed the entire duration of my wedding. Yay. Everyone told me I got “taken” because they charged too much. I wish that was the only way I’d been taken. ☹️😩🥲

Laura and her family did a wonderful job on my dress. The alterations were complete in a timely manner, and I was very pleased with the results. I highly recommend this place for any alterations, especially wedding dresses! Im very thankful.

Laura’s Couture helped me make my wedding a dream day! We bought a custom Pnina Tornai wedding gown from Kleinfeld’s in New York right before COVID happened, so we had to have the dress shipped here and find someone to alter it. To say we were nervous was an understatement. They literally had to take apart my dress, alter it, and hand sew back on all of my flower appliqués and even added some extra boning to help keep the dress up all night long. I never was pulling my dress to keep up (which normally drives me insane). They were able to rush my dress to have it done in time as well. Such an amazing family and I am so thankful we found them for our day!

My appointment was rushed so that the staff could go run a personal errand. The alterations ruined the dress. The staff was inflexible during COVID times. Rather than owning their mistakes, they rudely insisted that I pay full price for alterations that were incomplete and upsetting. The manager was one of the least pleasant people I’ve ever worked with. Please take your dress elsewhere.

I had a very good experience working with Laura Couture & Alterations. I bought my wedding dress on a sample sale so it was 2 sizes too big, had a few minor imperfections, and had no structure in the bodice. After just 3 fittings including the final, my dress was perfect! They worked with me to adjust how the sheer sleeves fit and I was really happy with how it turned out. It was a little more expensive than I would have liked, but I didnt want to gamble on my wedding dress and it was definitely worth it in the end!

We are from out of town and they were so accommodating. There were a lot of alterations, some small but, most large-all done perfectly.

Great little place! I went because she was recommended by my bridal couture. Laura was so nice, and she had her work cut out for her on my sequined and beaded gown that needed to be taken in a whole size. She moved a bunch of the sequins and beads, and I still cant wrap my mind around it.

Went here because they were recommended to me by the bridal salon where I bought my wedding dress. I have to say I am disappointed. I went based on the recommendation as the last thing you want to do is take a gamble with your wedding dress, however they werent willing to work with my schedule (I was coming in from out of town) which is fine I adjusted my schedule for them and took off work to come in.I brought in another dress to have the zipper fixed which I brought in with my wedding dress. I paid for it and said I would pick it up at my second fitting. It was not done and they had no clue what they were doing with it. It was ready by my final wedding dress fitting and seems to have been done fine.My wedding dress was the main problem. I had them attach a belt which we discussed at length where I wanted it (slightly above my waist). They could not seem to get it at the appropriate spot or attach it in a straight line all the way around so on my final fitting I waited 30-45 minutes while they re-attached it while I waited even though we had discussed it at length at my previous fitting. They also argued with me about this and had done exactly the opposite of what I had asked (lowered it instead of raising it). They argued with me about the straightness. Still wasnt straight on my wedding day, but nothing that ruined the day.Finally, they did a poor job hemming the dress. My mother is a seamstress, but does not alter wedding dresses. She informed me that they shortened the under layer more than the outer layer so the under layer of the dress pulled on the outer layer making a puckered look to the bottom of the dress. Again, nothing that ruined my wedding, but for the price I paid for my dress to be altered I would expect much higher quality.

I couldnt say enough amazing thing about the staff here and their work! They had to take over 4 inches off the bodice, and rebuild the top of my dress due to it being ordered too big from the bridal salon. I really struggled with how different it looked, and they have been so accommodating in helping tweak the dress. They are so kind, patient, and talented!!!

I had a great experience with Laura Couture. This is a family-run business, and they are very friendly, kind, professional, and skilled. They were recommended by the shop where I bought my wedding dress. I have already highly recommended them to others. The work on my dress was totally flawless. Im very happy and would trust them totally!!

Let me first start off by saying that Laura Couture did do a great job on PARTS of my wedding dress, but if you want to rate them on customer service, completing work and dealing with an upset customer on the DAY OF her wedding then I would give them a zero out five stars (in fact the one star I gave here is too many). My actual appointments went fine, AFTER I had to call and confirm the appointment two times for both of my fittings, not to mention after my dress was ready to be picked up for my portraits I had to call again and re confirm it was ready (which even then the unkind gentlemen working up front was very rash and said they closed at a certain time and they just were not going to wait for me.) After I did my last fitting and the dress was ready for pickup, I noticed during my portraits that a pin stuck my leg.. then on the day of my wedding I thought that the pin just needed to be removed, come to find out that they had pinned up half of the skirt of my dress and did not even finish... when my wedding planner called to let them know the kind gentlemen up front quickly pointed the blame at me and said that we had told them to bring the dress back... which never happened. Why would we go in for the last fitting.. take the dress AND pay an obscene amount of money and then know to bring the dress back.. without anyone even telling us? When we finally met with Laura the owner.. she was sweet but looked at the dress and said it was finished they just didnt take the pins out.. but thats technically not a finished job and not to mention, why did the gentlemen up front quickly blame us for the issue.. did I mention it was the DAY of my wedding?Anyway, please choose somewhere else, this place clearly has communication issues between their employees and customers and it is just not worth the money or time.

I wish I could rate Lauras Alterations on their work, but unfortunately I never was given the opportunity. After making an appointment with one of the staff/owners to get my wedding dress altered, I received 3 messages confirming my appointment, 2 of which were the incorrect time. When I called to confirm the issue with my time slot, I was told my appointment would have to move up from my original time by an hour because the studio was packed with appointments already. How this happened when THEY suggested what time was available for my original time slot, Im unsure! Someone is obviously not doing their job correctly! After finally landing on a time, I went in for my confirmed appointment and no one was there! After waiting 15 minutes with no luck (now bleeding 10 minutes past the start of my appointment time) I called the store number and was told by the same person that booked my appointments that he was 5 minutes away and without apology, I was essentially told to wait. There was no Im sorry, no I apologize for being late and not communicating this to you, instead he simply said that my appointment time was 9:30 and that he didnt know why I would arrive early. Are you kidding? Im respectful of others time so yes, I arrived a bit early......how is that a problem? Him being 10 minutes late past my appointment time is the real issue! Needless to say, if they cant honor the appointments they set or manage to show up on time, why would I trust them with my dress? I called to inform them I would not wait any longer and was leaving. I am taking my business to Beautiful U in River Oaks. They are nice, professional, and have amazing prices, unlike the people at Lauras.

Besides being very kind and flexible during the alterations process of my lace dress, she matched the lace and made me a custom long sleeved bolero. She wasnt sure about which lace to use, so she made two! They fit perfectly and I had so many compliments on it. She took the dress and made it complete, exactly how I wanted it. Well worth the money!

Shes AMAZING! Shes had such a lasting impression on me because of her ABSOLUTELY STUNNING WORK​. She worked with my schedule and was extremely flexible. Shes so kind, sweet, and FAMULOUS! Her work is impeccable and she NEVER SHORT CUTS. She does it properly the and beautifully. Trust. Me. Ive used so mean seamstresses for 5 bridesmaids and prom... Laura Couture is THE. BEST.

Customer service was good, but I had the spaghetti straps on my dress shortened. The straps were great every time I tried the dress on and through all of pictures the day of, but then as my husband and I were excusing guests after the ceremony (and hugging them as they left), one of my straps snapped. I was mortified and had to keep fixing it with a safety pin all night. Not something i wanted to worry about on my wedding day. Very disappointed.

Laura was very helpful and was able to fit me in for rushed alterations. Pricing was fair, and Karime really knows how to take a dress that is too big, to fitting perfectly!! I was amazed at how well my dress fit after alterations and got so many compliments.

Im a very petite bride and karime understood that from the get go, she made my mermaid dress fit like a glove! My bustle was absolutely gorgeous it flowed with the design of my dress.Lauras couture made my experience very joyful and stress free thank you guys so much.

I had a beautiful and intricate Galia Lahav dress that was altered for an absolutely perfect fit. I was terrified at first to let anyone touch my dress but, when I came back for my first fitting, I could see they absolutely knew what they were doing and I then trusted all of their suggestions unreservedly. The bodice was a little plain, but they made it perfect by adorning it with extra lace with a real eye for design and expert execution. My dress had a very long train and arrived with a two-button bustle that left 90% of it still dragging on the ground. I needed to be able to move and dance hands free at the reception so they created a new design for the bustle that was an absolute feat of engineering and looked gorgeous to boot! I cannot recommend them enough!! EXPERT TIP: When its all over have them preserve your dress for you.

I called December 14 at 11 am and confirmed my appointment for January 15,2018 at 11 am because it was a holiday and I was a teacher. Laura even said awesome because I would not have to miss work as a full time teacher. Well today I showed up for my fitting and no one was there!!! After voicemails and emails they call back stating they were closed and I was mistakes that my appointment was the following Monday the 22nd. Excuse me but I am not mistaken. What kind of business can’t even keep they appointment calendar orderly?

We had a fantastic experience at Lauras, they did a perfect job altering my daughters wedding gown, addressing several complex issues with the fit. She is a very skilled designer/seamstress.

The cost of just alterations was the cost many people pay for an entirely new dress. We were unwilling to use Lauras because we felt they were not a reasonable value. We went elsewhere for alterations and were completely satisfied and the cost was 1/4 the cost of Lauras.

My wedding dress was plain. I just want to thank you for understanding my vision and you really did bling my dress out for me.

AMAZING. My dress designer had cut my original dress completely wrong, so they had to give me a different size which ended up being way too big. After dealing with this mess, I only had a month left to get the dress altered, and Karime, Laura and their team worked wonders. My dress was all lace, fit-to-flare, tons of applique, 5 layers, long train -- not an easy or quick fix... and they made it fit me perfectly. Ive never felt so beautiful, sexy (the hubs was speechless) and wonderful in my life. It was worth every penny spent, and Id never recommend another place in the Houston area for wedding dress alterations. Wedding Dress Alterations done very well. Pleasant, timely and easy to work with.

There is no customer service. Laura needs to learn manners and how to treat people with respect. Never should someone speak a language the bride doesnt speak in front of her. First impressions go a long way.

I took an $800 suit for some alliteration and unfortunately they ruined the jacket. The people who worked there are very new to alliteration .My advice is don’t go there and you will not regret it..
