I recently built an outdoor kitchen and bar in my back yard, I chose to install tile over granite. Well that was a mistake, the tile lasted little more than 2 weeks before it started to loosen from the base...So I call around looking for Granite, called a few places including Discount Granite & Cabinets (DGC). DGC was the only one of five places to have someone available to come measure and give a quote. The process of measuring and quoting was super fast, I was concerned even skeptical but Georgio was very reassuring and down to earth. There was no pressure to decide immediately and I was able to have a conversation with my with about it and make an informed decision. We followed up with Georgio and Mariam(?) the next morning and went in to pick out some Granite. The experience was fantastic. We organized for the coming Wednesday (yesterday) for installation. Right on time the installation team arrived and began prep. They were very responsive to my queries and respectful. The day was incredibly hot and these fellas worked so hard. After purchasing kitchen cabinets online that were supposedly a great deal because of a Black Friday sale I started looking around for somebody to install them. I called several companies nobody was willing to even give me an estimate until they came and sent a designer. I called discount granite and cabinets and spoke with Mariam.. right away I could tell she was very knowledgeable and asked me what type of cabinets I had ordered and over the phone quoted me a price. The price she quoted me was lower than two previous people that had stopped by the house. We went to meet her at her business and I showed her the list of cabinets I had bought. She gave me a funny look and started running some numbers. She quoted me a lower price. At first I thought, well she could have saved me $700, but then she told me that the price she quoted me included installation. I immediately got on the phone and canceled my online order.I think I have become accustomed to dealing with companies who never keep their promise so it was such a pleasant surprise and a blessing to deal with Mariam .We decided to go with her not only for the cabinets but for the countertops for the sink for the backsplash and they even installed and did the plumbing.Everybody she sent over was an expert and very professional at what they did. After checking numerous granite places, large and small, we were quite happy with our final choice, Discount Granite & Cabinets. They sent us to Earth Stone Texas (wholesaler) to find two very nice slabs of granite. Our old Harvey-damaged granite was removed and new kitchen granite installed. They created templates, worked with us and the fabricator to assure the best presentation, and installed the granite in our kitchen to exact specifications. The granite and the quality of service were high, and the cost was quite reasonable. We also appreciate that they fabricated a windowsill that we had overlooked, only charging us a minor amount for the installation.

Purchased countertops in March, I just got new appliances installed and found out that there are several flaws in the finished product. The granite on the island is crooked, on the left side og the island it overhangs by one inch and on the right it’s only a half inch. The countertop over the dishwasher extends so far that we won’t be able to use the dishwasher as is.Naturally we called to inquire about adjustments and without hesitation, we were told that it was our fault, “their installers don’t make mistakes.” We were looking to pay to get the problems addressed but based on the response we receive we will pay someone else to fix it and will never recommend this business to anyone and definitely never use their service again.

I dont understand all the 5-star reviews here. Probably most of them are from his family, friends, etc. I would give him NEGATIVE 5 starts if I could. I have been a landlord and homeowner that hired quite contractors, and these guys are by far the worst I have ever worked with. Please read the review by Tyty Oh near the bottom. I just cant agree with him/her more. In addition to the review, some details (but not everything I went through) from my experience are below:1. A 2.5-day kitchen remodel project (Georgio promised) turned out to be a 10-day project with some items still unfinished (the project done a few months ago).2. When I asked him to come back to finish those unfinished items, he promised and didnt bother to show up. The kitchen is still unfinished. Talking about breach of contract based on Texas Deceptive Trade Act.3. He constantly over-promised and under-delivered. Seriously, almost everything he promised wasnt done as promised. Of course, he never said I am sorry.4. His crew didnt even know how to (or bother to) level the cabinets. I asked Georgio and his crew 4-5 times prior to the installation to pay attention to level the cabinets as the kitchen floor was not even. Nevertheless, the crew installed the cabinets unleveled. I had to ask them to uninstall and re-install them to do it properly. While they were doing this, I had to level, measure, direct, etc. etc. myself. What did I pay for?5. Georgio sent a 18-year old kid to demo the old kitchen without proper PPEs. I ended up demoed half of the kitchen myself to get this project on track. The rest crew never bothered to show up that day. What did I pay for and why did I work on demo?6. They didnt bother to bring plastic sheets to enclose the project area (kitchen). Dust got into everywhere in the house, and I ended up spending a lot of time to clean it up.7. The above items are just a tip of an iceberg.Some positive sides:1. Georgio is a nice guy, but this personality doesnt mean I would accept the very low level of professionalism and repeated promises that were not kept.2. His price is reasonable. Well, what you get is what you pay for, right?Conclusions: I will never use him ever again.
