Got a great cut/edge up. Hollis is the man. And the place is clean and comfortable. Any of the guys can cut, but Hollis did exactly what I asked....much respect Ill be coming back regularly.

Booked an appointment on Wednesday for Friday at 2:30. Showed up Friday and they were closed. No warning call or message, just closed.

Been here twice. Both times, had great cuts by two different barbers. Definitely dont go if you have any plans later. Showed up at noon one day last week, and had to be at work for 2. I was sat down at 1, and got done at 1:55... Great attention to detail... But takes a while to get through cuts.

I met Glenn, one of the barbers, at an art show and he was so awesome and full of great energy! When he talked about Reds barbershop he made me smile. My bf has gone to the same place for 8 years but after meeting Glenn I think we will stop by and give it a shot! I’ll be taking my son!

Been coming here for a while and I usually stick with the usual 1 against the grain. Sat in Kens chair and I let him decide what to do with it. Ended up with a fresh wave cut with a smooth fade. Really impressed with the cut and professionalism and had a great conversation as well. Im sure next time Ill be in the same chair.Just some notes on Reds in general - theres not a whole lot of real estate considering its a downtown shop but its all used extremely well and any loose hair is being swept away frequently. Ive never had a very long wait and have always been treated well. Fair price for a cut as well from some well experienced barbers.

Great quality cuts and fast efficient service. They take walk in, as well as appointments if you have a particular barber you like. Also, its cash only.

Got my haircut at Reds for he first time on a trip to Houston for President Bush funeral. Phenomenal experience. Can’t say enough about these guys. Made me feel like I’d known them for years and gave an exceptional haircut. Will absolutely recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning anytime I am in houston!

Was in Houston for work from London and came across this barber shop underneath 1001 Fannin. Kudos to Steven who within 30 mins turned around a really excellent professional cut. Thanks again chaps- an unexpected find.

The look of the business overall is cluttered and not well kept. The barbers haircuts will make you regret scheduling with them over the phone, and the one time I got my haircut here, my hair got butchered. I had to go get it fixed somewhere else in the same week. I recommend save your $30 and stick your hair close to a fire. 🤷‍♂️ I usually dont leave bad reviews. Kind of feel bad about it but I dont want anyone else making the same mistake as me.

Left the place with a great haircut. The barber is definitely experienced and highly trained. However, I would really appreciate if the barber could be more friendly with the customers. When customers ask for a shorter haircut, barber often shows a passive negative attitude and tend to respond with a unfriendly remark. Moreover, if customers seem to be torn in deciding for a haircut style, barber should try to assist them in a friendly manner so that they can feel welcomed, instead of responding them aggressively (i.e. raising his voice).

I’m in Houston for the week, and needed a shave and beard trim. This place felt like home. Amazing customer service, quality cut. If I could make this my home shop, I would.

Hell have all the ladies peepin when you cruise by and thats a bet.All the barbers are super friendly....down to talk sports, work....or how to be the king of the jungle. Been working downtown Houston for about a year now and stop by Reds 1-2 times every month. Perfect cut EVERY time.About $20 for a hair cut and a little extra if you wanna get your shoes shined (during your cut). I go during lunch and always come our looking real sharp. Great work Reds barber shop, keep doing BIG things.

Hollis is the man! ALWAYS does an amazing job! Everyone else there is always super friendly and courteous, Im in and out of there without any delay EVERY TIME. HIGHLY recommend this place

Camerson cut my hair, I got a low fade 0-2, with a beard trim, and it came out fantastic. The haircut is great, just keep in mind that the barber shop is underground in tunnels.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I called ahead of time to let them know that I was going in. Being that I’m a student I’m mainly busy most of my days. I didn’t want anything fancy just a bald head. I went and waited as I watch people come and get sitted before me. Now you think maybe they made an appointment....nope I was there when they called and said they were coming. The woman bararber even refused to cut my hair just so she could wait for this customer that had just called to see if they were open. If you are a student, soldier, or nurse or anyone who is working class/lower middle class these guys will look down on you and take the guy in the fancy suit. Support a more respectful business.

Make sure you go to an experienced barber here because you will pay an arm and a leg for a rookie. Made the mistake of reading these reviews and not making an appointment for my fiancé with an experienced barber. Got there and of course the rookie wasnt busy 😒 over charged for messing up my fiancés hair style! Never again ! Wish I could give 0 stars

It’s not really that shocking, but your barbershop might be overdue for some upgrades. I mean, what’s going on with this old chair and the vending machine that fails to work at times?
