I dont know if it was a bad day or something completely unrelated but my barber made me feel uncomfortable for a majority of the cut. After he was done with the sides I asked if I could put my glasses back on. Usually my eyes hurt when theyre off for too long. At some point I was bringing up an anecdote on a bad hair cut that I received over a decade ago at a completely different shop. I dont know if that was the cause for the barbers immediate emotional response, but they immediately switched gears and accused me of being judgmental and overly critical about the cut they were giving me. He then began to snap at me for every involuntary eye twitch or minor body movement. I usually try and contain my response to stimulation and body ticks in general, but this whole experience was incredibly humiliating. I tried apologizing profusely still not knowing what I did to offend them in an effort to soothe over any offense with a person that has my head in their hands. The last bit that pushed it over the edge was the barber telling me not to worry about paying as if I wasnt even worth the time in the chair. Situation was de-escalated by the time I paid, tipped, and left. I was grateful for the professional courtesy of them not messing my hair up, but having come here for 4 years I was expecting the same great experience. Instead, I left feeling miserable in the pit of my stomach with a solid haircut. Wont be coming again which sucks because it took me so long to find this place.

Trae was very unprofessional and disrespectful. He accepted my appointment online but when I arrived he was leaving to run an errand. He arrived back ten mins late and had someone he obviously already knew to get in the chair. When the other barber tried to advocate for me letting him know I was there and that it was my my appointment window he never even acknowledged me. After that haircut he pulled the guy who had the appointment scheduled after mine to be cut. I was livid. I left. Do not recommend. Very ghetto. Zero stars.

We drove a distance for my son and husband to get a hair cut. We didnt have an appointment because we read online walk ins were welcomed. Upon arrival we were told very rudely that only one person was able to get services so we had to choose because they had no appointments available. The experience was far from pleasant and not what we expected beside the raves we saw online, it was understood that this place is not interested in gaining new clientele and dont put a lot of effort on their customer service. An appointment was not offered and we left with a bad experience.

Tray is the man! Been going to see him since I moved to EaDo 2 years ago. Wouldnt trust anybody else at this point. Great cuts back when I had short hair and just as good now that I grew out the pandemic long hair.

I cut my hair back in April during the early part of the virus. I popped in some months ago hoping to get my hair cut. I found Tray.. he is such a people person and down to earth and so cool. He knows hair and that is a big thing for me. He colors my hair and cuts it and still gives my hair that feminine look that I want. He is really good. Its nearby where I live and I its a great place. He is awesome!!!

Went as a walk-in. The only guy working at that time (9/6/21 at 2 pm) asked me “do you have an appointment?” I said no… then he turned around and went back to the back of the shop. Some serious customer service issues at this place. Management please take notice.

Went there for the first time. Kaylo was my barber aaaaaand man when I tell you hands of an Angel 🙌🏼🙌🏼 HANDS OF A MF ANGEL 😤✨He was very welcoming and made me comfortable. Along with a nice clean cut *chefs kiss* magnific. The whole shop was a vibe. They had good music playing too. 10/10 highly recommend. Definitely going back to him again.

10/10 would recommend! I’ve been trying to find a shop I can call home since moving to Houston and I can say I finally found it. The shop is super clean and has a relaxing welcoming vibe and great music. My new barber Tray was outstanding, the attention to detail he had while working on my hair was amazing, but most importantly the overall customer care was magnificent!

Big Tray is the man, hes consistently bringing his best work out. As a top therapist who also have locs, I have to stay fresh and clean. Im really picky about fades and edge ups, but I honestly can say Im confident to refer ANYONE to him.

Fantastic quality and value with an authentic and unique Eado vibe. All barbers seems to put a premium on attention to detail and take pride in their work. They dedicate plenty of time to each haircut, Ive never felt like theyve rushed to get to the next customer. They have 8th Wonder beer on tap and often offer some as a part of the experience. Highly recommend this spot if youre looking for a barbershop close to downtown.

Walked into the barbershop, no one was cutting hair, one guy was sitting in the back of the shop on his phone. Sat down and waited for about 5 to 7 minutes only to find out that they were fully booked because the guy was too busy sitting on his phone.

Call in before you walk in, set your appointment Mines was at 6:30 and exactly at My appointment schedule I was seen and he started on my head right away. 10/10 ✝️🔥🇺🇸

Got a solid haircut and shave from here while in Houston on a business trip. I have to say that i loved the style in this barber shop. Lots of cool antiques and also pretty good service. Tino (not sure if spelled that right) gave me a nice lookin haircut and shave. Love that they do the hot towel too. Always a nice touch. If youre a local, you should check this place out!

I love bayou city barber shop they have been friendly the couple times I have gone. I’ve been there twice and this last time there was a mixup on the scheduling and I was unable to do the haircut and the premier beard trim and shave. The staff is great the environment is awesome. I do recommend giving them a try.

First time trying this place. DID NOT DISAPPOINT, it has the layout that every guy needs/wants while waiting to get a fresh cut. I typically don’t trust others with my cut since I’ve been seeing my regular lady since I was 10(I am now 26). “Chito” Gilbert is a very chill barber and perfected the taper that I’ve been wanting.I will be visiting back soon.

These guys give a good haircut, but I’ve had about 5 appointments here and every single one has started at least 20 minutes late. Without exception. Today I walked out after waiting over 30 minutes past the scheduled time. I would understand if this were the first time it had happened, but it’s the only experience I’ve ever had there. Shame because like I said, they give a good cut, but I just don’t have time to sit around for over half an hour past the scheduled start time.

Have gone here three times now. Had my hair cut by LV(I think that’s his name) three different times now. First time my cut was freakin amazing. Second time was pretty good but not as good as the first cut. Third time was just sloppy. I could have caught him on a bad day because I know he’s a talented barber but just wish the cuts were consistent all three times. The pic is from the first cut I thought was amazing.

Dustin has been my go to barber for nearly a year. He goes above and beyond to make sure I have the style I request every time I’m in his chair. I’ve asked for several different cuts from him and he never disappoints. Bayou city barber shop has friendly barbers and an incredibly laid back atmosphere. I recommend this place, and specifically my dude Dustin, 10/10 times.

Tino the barber has standout communication and barber skills! I only go to this location because of him! He will execute and try new styles that others won’t!

This barber shop is the most convenient, efficient, and high quality place to go get your cut in EaDo. I was recommended Dustin for my first time there and now he is my go-to barber.

First time here and Dustin did an awesome job on my hair. He was very thorough, articulate, and gave me great tips on how to style my hair. Honestly best cut I think Ive ever received. Prices are reasonable as well.

Second time I’ve been here. These guys are great. Reasonably priced and they don’t rush either. I went to Pete this time and he was excellent.Better than the other Houston barber shops! Check these guys out.

Got my first beard trim ever from Mike and it was great. He trimmed me up, cleaned up my lines and really did a good job. Great atmosphere with the barbers and customers cutting up and having a good time. Reasonable prices and great service.

Although my haircut was okay, the service and the experience was horrid. Both the owner and the top barber had attitude and lip. The barber, TrevorAlthough doing an okay job was extremely Lippy and had a lot of back sas. As much as he rolled his eyes I thought they would have fallen out of his socket. If Im paying you $30 plus for a haircut I dont expect to be treated as such. Okay haircut never coming back here again

Came in for a haircut before a trade show that I was in town for. The price was good, they had a good reviews and it was within walking distance from the convention center. I went onto the website and was able to make an appointment for that same morning. Jonathan did an excellent job! Best hair cut in a long time! Wish I could see him for every haircut.

Got a quick buzz from Tray, and had a good conversation. Played galaga on the coffee arcade table while I waited. Chill vibes in a nice hotspot, so once you get a slick new shave you can go show it off at one of the bars close by.

Very cool vibe and atmosphere. My husband gets his haircuts here with Chico and drives 40 minutes from our house every time just to come here. They have a pretty cool and working arcade table in the lounge area as well. Keeps kids (and wives) entertained while waiting. I also have a girl friend who goes to Chico for a side shave here too. Everyone leaves happy. :)

I’m new to Houston so had to find a new barber shop. I’ve been to Bayou 4 times and used Mike every time. He’s one of the most talented barbers I’ve ever been to, very happy with his work. I only took one star away because of the atmosphere, everyone seems nice but the music is always profanity laden, making it a place I wouldn’t bring my son for a cut.

Called to see if I could walk in 30 minutes before I arrived and they said they could work me in. Hung out for like 20 minutes and waited until I could be seen. I was next and something was wrong with walk ins so I was taken out of the seat. Then it turned into being another hour wait.... waste of my time and driving. Very annoying situation

Best barber shop in town by far. My go to. All of the comments say Chico is the best, which may be true, but that doesnt mean the other barbers shouldnt get some love. All of them do an amazing job in their own right. If you cant get Chico on a certain day, rest assured youre still getting an A+ quality cut with any of the other guys too.

The place itself is great and has a humble environment. I only had Mike Fresh so I cant speak of the other barbers here. He was overall easygoing and very clean, especially when it came to his cutting supplies.However, he didnt deliver well on what I requested. I told him my specifications which was 2 inch in the front, 1.5 inch on top, high fade, etc....He just assumed it was a trim of whatever I had on my head. He seemed to eyeball most of his cuts and didnt estimate length with hands like other barbers. At the end, the front was definitely uneven and on one corner off my temple too short. When I asked him at the end how long my hair was, he said he didnt have a way to measure it, kind of disappointing considering I told him the length I wanted. I guess he put his own spin/take on the hairstyle I had in mind.The haircut was not horrific but not great either.

I love my hair and beard but due to a job change i needed something more manageable. I wanted somewhere that was greart with beards. Dustin at Bayou City was amazing. I had pics for him to go by and he did not disappoint. He even made suggestions that turned out better. I will defiantly return. Make sure to book an appointment so thet have the time they need.

Has an appointment sat 35 minutes later he reseat guy back down to do touch ups. I left, whats the point for an appointment if you treated as a walk in. Nice shop just dont like waiting.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had an appointment with Mike Fresh at 4:00. I showed up at 3:50. Mike had a picky customer that lasted till 4:15. While waiting NEARLY 25 MINUTUES. Mike picked up a walk in over a customer who had an appointment and waited 25 minutes. WHATEVER you do, DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH MIKE.... I would try other people there, who do a better job and honor their appointments.

Went here for the first time last week, after my old barber left the please they worked. After getting there they offered me a drink, it made me left like home. I had an appointment with Chico, make sure you make one before going in because Chico is one of the best guys there. I just found my place to get my haircut for the rest of my life.
