Lovely
Great historic venue. Great for weddings and parties. Atmosphere is unique to an earlier age in Houston. Old world class can bring a great addition to your event. Staff is helpful and professional.
I am not a person who does many reviews or gives such high marks when I do participate in doing reviews, but for my wedding I had some of the most talented vendors and this vendor was tops. My husband and I used this venue for our Wedding Reception in October, 2014. This historic building is not only beautiful on its own, but fit our theme perfectly and doesnt require a lot of decor. So if you want to keep your decor cost to a minimum, this is your place. They have an amazing lighting system and DJ that is included in the cost of the venue rental. The DJ was awesome and played the music that we wanted to keep people on the dance floor...even the little kids had a blast dancing and was very accommodating in sharing the music by allowing my husbands band play a spotlighted set in the middle of the evening. Working with Jason and Linda was extremely easy. Linda is such an easy person to work with and talk to she went above and beyond the call of duty, I had a vendor issue that had me beyond stressed out in the last 2-3 weeks before our wedding day and she stepped in and let me vent and was able to get me to calm down. Jason manages the building and was extremely easy to work with, he made sure that everything on the venues end was in place to make sure my event ran seamless and perfect. We are still getting complements from our guests. If the need arises for another party, I wouldnt hesitate to coming back here.
I run Events by Momo, a full service event planning and catering company, and one of our clients had chosen to have their wedding at Majestic Metro this past November. As this was our first time working with this venue, we had scheduled a walk through ahead of time to be sure of what to expect day of.We met with Linda and Jason and they gave us a tour of the space. The venue is a great, unique location for a wedding or event! Linda made the process simple for us from a planners standpoint. She let me know ahead of time what the venue required from us in order to work there. She touched base with me before and after the wedding to address any questions and ask how our experience was.Although the catering kitchen isnt really a kitchen, the prep area is a large space. The wedding was for about 150 guests and we were comfortable with the space during the cocktail hour and buffet dinner. They have 2 built in bars with sinks which was very helpful. The service hallway was really useful for getting from the kitchen to the stage, where the dessert station was set up, as well as for storage.During an event, we do everything necessary to ensure a seamless night. As our point of contact, Jason went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome working at a new venue. He gave us helpful information about the venue itself that made our job easier. We certainly enjoyed working with him!
Sometimes you just get that feeling walking into a place. When Chris and I first stepped foot into the Majestic Metro we were blown away by the ambiance and welcoming owners, management, and staff. Only to find out what a value this treasure of a venue truly is. We had the greatest night of our lives celebrating our wedding with all of our closest friends and family here! We received nonstop compliments from all of our guests about this incredible venue. Looking back, I cant imagine our special day being held anywhere else. The name speaks for itself. The Majestic Metro is simply, majestic.
I think its one of the largest metro stations connect every service like main busstand and railway station. Bit confusing to find the right platform but staffs are kind enough to help.
Hosting an event here was amazing... Its like something from the movies. Loved this place
When I 1st saw the venue I immediately fell in love with the historic value & beautiful interior of the site. I was very impressed with the light show and the music part during the venue tour. Linda let us know that if we chose to add on the cost of her DJ and lighting system, we could then and only then use the venue’s built in speakers and lighting equipment. After she showed us a preview of the lights and music during the tour, we couldnt imagine bringing in our own DJ and having all his equipment taking up space where the ceremony and reception would take place. Two weeks before the wedding the DJ made his first contact with us. We filled out his 2 forms & included all the details for the songs we wanted played during the ceremony and reception. We also used the majestic metros website to select songs we wanted played from their playlist per his request and provided him with a flashdrive with all songs that were important to us. The day of the wedding comes and the ceremony guest seating begins, the DJ plays the song we had selected for dinner time, he plays it while people are being seated for the ceremony. This was especially erroneous because the song was dinner specific, so it did not make sense to anyone listening. The mother and groom walk down the aisle & deacon makes his way to the stage- the songs we selected were not played during that time. The groomsmen/bridesmaids walk down the aisle & the right song is played. It is my turn to walk down the aisle and he starts playing the dinner song again, I freeze in embarrassment when he abruptly cuts the music off when a guest tells him it is the wrong song. All guests stare at me as I wait for the right song to start playing and I can continue walking down the aisle-the DJ is scrambling through his papers complaining to a guest that he had too many papers. The DJ asked my guest to remind him what the song that should be playing that very moment. There is awkward silence as the DJ as everyone waits. Remember that we had filled out the venues forms beforehand with all the key songs and even provided a flash drive with labeled music. The ceremony begins & when it is time to light the unity candle, the song that we chose for that moment is not played..there is nothing but silence. He never played the song. The ceremony ends & the song he was supposed to play as we exit the stage never plays...silence. The DJ was supposed to announce us as a couple, he never does. The DJ was to dedicate two different songs to two different guests of honor but only ever dedicated one song to one of the guests leaving the other guest feeling left out. Errors like this continued on for the rest of the night. The DJ is supposed to lead the events throughout the reception ensuring a smooth fun night, yet he remained silent never announcing the key moments. Because he didn’t announce those key moments most guests missed the cake cutting. He made the event feel disorganized and awkward after we spent a lot of money ensuring we had the best of everything. I felt that the DJ ruined so many special moments throughout the night for us and I feel really disappointed in the venue since that was their DJ. When I let Linda know after the wedding, there was no real sense of regret on her part. Her response was that she had always received good comments on her DJs which felt like she was invalidating our experience. She even questioned why I had tipped her employees if the DJ had been so bad, my response was that we dont stiff people and the tips were meant for the other two individuals working the event. There were a couple of hiccups during the planning process w/ Linda that caused us unneeded stress but my experience during the actual event is what would deter me from ever recommending this venue to other people. If I were to redo the wedding, I would choose a newer venue with employees and managers who could dedicate themselves to a successful event. With as much money that goes into paying for a wedding you really need to choose a venue & people that you can trust.
Love it first time there with hubby for his Christmas party
Superb. It has high technology
For wedding reception venue - great atmosphere and set-up. Good staff.
Best place to have a wedding i love the historical feel of this building
A fun retro wedding venue, food was ok.
The venue itself is amazing and I would not have picked a better place. HOWEVER, the staff is horrible, especially the partners, owners, whatever they call themselves. Majestic is great because you could bring your own vendors however they TOTALLY changed this half way through, still promising everything would be the same as promised in the beginning, it wasnt. They dont have you fill out the contract until a week before getting married there! Id be sure to ask for it the day you reserve the place. Also, the DJ was the worst DJ I have ever heard in my life. Its included in the venue for a reason. I could not even describe in words how horrible he was. He called my Maid of Honor whose name is Kendra, Kenitra, he said my last name which is half the wedding party Shinski, which its Sinisi. He maybe got TWO names right. It was a joke. I had a few songs I wanted played in memory of my grandmother whom the entire wedding was in memory of, not even HALF the songs we took hours picking out were played.I wish they would get new owners/partners, someone who knew what the heck they were doing and how to run a business and this place would really be hard to compete with.
Unbelievable good venue with a elegant feel.
