Absolutely beautiful place. Skip was the best host. The cabin was clean, breakfast was just as promised and was just perfect for our anniversary weekend. Also great location. Just minutes from Walmart and a super short drive to downtown hot springs. Would rent again and would highly refer to anyone visiting hot springs.

We stayed here about 14 years ago in Cabin 2 with two children and had a wonderful time. This time we stayed in cabin D (with no children) and it was a good size for a couple. Upon arrival we were met by Skip who was very nice and welcoming. He showed us around the cabin and suggested points of interest around the Hot Springs area. We noticed that there were numerous cobwebs around the entry door to the cabin including the outside light fixtures. We had to sweep the back balcony area due to debris. The inside of the cabin was clean; however, there were several cobwebs on the inside ceilings and walls. We inspected the sheets on the bed and they appeared to be clean and fresh. The towels in the bathroom were also clean. There were breakfast fixings available and stocked in fridge; however, the fridge did need to be wiped out. The fan in the living room area had loose blades and was not in working order, but we notified skip of the problem and he immediately fixed the issue. The pans we wanted to use had rust in one pan and a handle loose on another but again, Skip immediately replaced them. The cabins are located near the lake and are about 15 minutes from downtown Hot Springs. Cabin Ds parking area had a ditch in front from rain runoff. I did not have any problems with parking but I had a Pickup. If you have a car I would not suggest this cabin due to parking issues. Overall the stay was nice but there are small issues with the cabin that need to be addressed.

Great cabins. We stayed for a week for our family vacation. Skip is one of the nicest people ever. It is very obvious that the reviews from people complaining about them being dirty have never stayed in a cabin. The cabins are actually nicer than they look online. Can’t wait to come back. One thing was concerned about was the AC…the heat/humidity were off the charts during our stay…but the cabin AC worked very well. Kept it cooler than we would have been at home!

Great place for a chill weekend. Excellent combo to go with a trip to Hot Spring National Park. The cabins are reasonably priced, isolated, and amazing. They keep reasonably good breakfast items in the fridge. Youve to make it though. The bathtub has a jet if youre interested. They dont advertise a wifi. But if youre sitting on the lakeside you get a good connection. Some cabins might have wifi connection, ours didnt but we didnt mind it. Have your breakfast lunch dinner by the lake. Take a swim. If your bring a boat chill on the lake. Id come again.

The owner is friendly and the place is in a great location. Other than that, that is about it. We rented cabin 4, the original built in 1930s.Let me begin by saying that I dont like to bring down local businesses but I was so disappointment during my stay. I am very surprised so many people left good reviews. Perhaps they had a better experience than I did with different cabins. Here are my reason for my review. Pictures to follow.1) The place is dirty. The cabin was covered in cobwebs outside. I understand youll have cobwebs in the woods, spiders and other insects. But these were old cobwebs. Also, if you run this kind of business you should make sure your guest are not walking in cobwebs when entering the door. The morning after our arrival we had to run a broom around the entry door to knock some cobwebs that looked like they had been for months. The inside is somewhat clean, but the window sills of the pocket window are covered in dead bugs, more cobwebs and feces of who knows what animal. The place smelled strongly of a weird smell. We bought a candle and left it running 24/7.Some of the cooking utensils were dirty from previous usage.2) Everything is outdated and or not working properly. The queen bed leans toward the center and its very uncomfortable. The modern amenities advertised on the web page are not really present in cabin 4. The jet tub didnt work properly. Only the jets at the feet did. The 1940 gas stove is very unstable and we gave up cooking with it after the first time, it filled up the cabin in smoke. The burners need to be cleaned and the gas pores unclogged. The screens at the windows are tore in multiple places allowing all kinds of bugs to come in.3) You get the bare minimum. Our cupboard had 1 drinking cup, 1 plastic wine cup. The breakfast fixings are supposed to last you the whole time you are there. A dozen eggs, a pack of bacon, half gallon of milk, half gallon of orange juice, some bangles and apples turnovers.Dont expect new supplies every day.The cabin is supposed to sleep up to 3 people yet there is only one hook in the bathroom to hang your towel. You get a bottle of body wash. If you are a woman you get no shampoo so bring it. There is a skinny tiny closet with 3 hangers. No other drawer to put your stuff.4) no places for campfires. There are no firepits outside so dont expect to make smores or roast hot dogs. There is a beautiful deck and gazebo on the lake. But then again, it looks like nobody ever takes the time to run a broom on the rails and knock down some of the cobwebs. Also, right behind the beautiful view of the lake there is a cabin literally full of junk and all kind of supplies. Very unsightly.5) not as advertisedThe heart fire place in cabin 4 advertised on the website is covered by a new gas stove. This didnt really bother me as much at all because we tried to stay in the cabin the least possible time.It was a shame to see such a beautiful place in such rundown condition. I am not sure who is not taking care of the cabins and the property but some things need to change. I dont see myself ever coming back here. I have been to several cabins in Oklahoma and Arkansas and none of them was in such a squalid state.Perhaps the larger cabins are better, but overall my experience was not pleasant. I was tempted, after my first night, to ask for a refund and move into a hotel. I didnt because I thought I was being picky. Unfortunately the more the days went by, the more I kept noticing all these wrong things.I stayed there 3 nights and will look into different cabin rental business where for the same price you can get a much cleaner service.

We had an amazing time at 5 points! It is easy to find and even though you feel like you’re in the woods, you’re just 5-10 min from everything! It was a great location and we loved the cabin itself. We stayed in cabin 1. The cabin felt like a piece of history! It was so fun and unique. The owner is super friendly and will give you a great introduction to the history of the cabins and the town. He also stocks the fridge with breakfast food and milk for your stay! the campground has a gazebo and not docks. There was also a row boat that guests were free to use. My husband and I came back before his surgery so he could get a spa day in. We stayed in C this time and we will stay in C again and 4ever. High ceilings made the small space feel larger and roomier; Lots more room for our puppy to play catch. The Jacuzzi was a nice surprise.Beautiful view of the lake from back porch. ADVISE: If you have a small puppy (under 10lbs and slim waist) it is possible they could slip thru the wooden slats to an 8ft fall. BUT dont let that stop you from renting this cabin. Our puppy was extremely sick twice over night and ruined the pillow, dirtied case and top blanket. Jackie came with new pillow, blanket and sheets very very quickly the following morning. Very sweet lady. The pillows were quite thin so if you like a firmer pillow bring your own or just ask if you need an extra one.Thank you Skip for your hard work and making us feel at home!!

The owner was great! He let us know of places to visit since it was our first time in Arkansas. The room with the open windows was beautiful. The cabin was pre-wwII which I thought was very cool. The lake was beautiful & we enjoyed swimming and feeding the ducks. The fridge & stove are vintage but still work. The freezer is tiny though so I dont recommend freezer food. It was very quiet, only sounds of nature but a quick drive to down town where we spent a day sight seeing. No internet so you will have to use data on your phone & bring dvds to watch movies, but we enjoyed watching cable and playing some board games we brought from home. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

First off, Skip was amazing. Very hospitable. Road was maintained well. Everything they provided was great. Bacon, eggs, coffee, milk, oj, apple turnovers, some butter, body wash, local travel guide booklets with coupons, a map. We ran out of eggs and bacon after 3 days and they so kindly gave us more! Skip showed us how to light all of the pilots. So friendly. Pet friendly. Now, I want to say. I do understand other peoples comments regarding the unsightly cabins. We stayed in cabin 1. I would suggest cleaning the exterior of all of the cabins, and the two storage cabins. But to me, it didnt take away from our experience.Yes, the stove is from the 1940s. We cooked pasta, pizza, bacon, eggs, all sorts of things. Just took a little longer to cook than a modern stove.Skip was raised here and to me, the history of it made our stay worth while. Everything that you get compared to other cabins or air bnbs is amazing. Its very affordable and well worth the views. No place is perfect. And to me, customer service is what typically makes or breaks our guest experience. And 5 Points is above par in that department.

It might just have been cabin F however, it was not the cleanest place. Most of the AC vents were missing 1/2 or more of the guards. The fridge was stocked for the first morning then nothing after. Ice in the main ice bin had a shard of green glass in it. We had to scrub most of the dishes before they were useable. My wife had to clean the upstairs bathroom before she would let the boys use it. Cabin F needs lots of TLC. Both boats are not water worthy, they will sink fast. Not a bad getaway location other than that. We will probably pick another place to stay next trip.

Having the breakfast things were great! The cookware was not the easiest to work with. Bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep. Inside was clean, but hot because of the weekend we choose to come. They hadnt got the second window unit in yet. They did say they were going to, but not sure if we just missed them or they got busy with something else. There was quite a bit of poison ivy and oak around the cabin, so couldnt enjoy outdoors there too much because of being allergic. If we were to come back, I would look into getting a cabin with a lake view. The guy was super nice and knew his history about the place.

My husband and I just got back after 3 nights in cabin 4. Skip was a wonderful host and very understanding after our furry baby was sick. Great location! Loved the lit gazebo by the water. Cabin 4 was one of the original ones but wood was updated. Cool old stove but gas ones scare me. Small living room but we only stayed in cabin to nap and sleep. I want to mention since it was built in the 20s, it smelled very, very musty, so dont get this cabin if you have sinus or lung issues. Also, I would suggest if you dont eat breakfast, as in bacon and eggs, tell Skip so it doesnt go to waste [it was weeks before expiration but still I felt bad.] It is such a lovely personal touch. We will be back. Thank you, Skip!

Review №44

First I would like to say thank you for the amazing hospitality and for accommodating us with our very late check in. Cabins were clean with only a few cobwebs which is to be expected when lodging in a cabin. The air conditioning and fireplace both worked great.A few of our complaints would be:Firstly, that shower head was already cracked upon arrival and fell off the first night.Secondly, upon arrival we noticed a heavy musty smell in the cabin as well as another smell in the kitchen area that we could not place what it was or where it was coming from..so we purchased several candles at Walmart to mask the smell throughout our weekend.Thirdly, and our biggest issue....the size of the queen bed would not have been a problem if the mattress was of better quality. This trip was intended for us to get away and have our first baby free weekend trip and be able to rest and sleep for the majority of our stay, but instead we spent most of the nights tossing and turning on a non-padded mattress with the springs jabbing into our backs the entire night and waking up every morning with back and neck pain and feeling more exhausted than before we even arrived to the cabins. After the first night we drove to Walmart and purchased a mattress topper to hopefully make our nights more bearable, that did NOT help. The second night we moved to the futon to try to sleep better when that did NOT work either we decided by the third night we try to place the futon mattress as well as mattress topper we had purchased at Walmart on top of the queen size bed just to get through the third night for us to not be as exhausted for our long trip home, NONE of these things helped. This experience would have been even worse had we not brought our own pillows from home as yours were too thin to provide any neck support at all. This sleeping arrangment made our spa day pointless and a complete waste of money since we had to come back each night to that bed. If we had thought we wouldn’t be charged the full amount for our reservation stay we would have found a hotel room after the first night. These cabins do have great potential with a few updates, the breakfast “fixins” provided were a great touch and Skip was very nice. We hope that our feedback is received well and can possibly help with accommodating future guests more adequately. Sadly, we will not be returning or recommending anyone to stay here without knowing that these issues have been resolved/updated**Update**Skip replied back to our email of concerns the same day and apologized for the issues. He also reimbursed us for a portion of our stay. We appreciate it. We still will not be back without knowing of updates. Thank you.

This is a run-down old facility, everything is in poor repair, the grounds are a mess, the boat available fills with water and you paddle with a log, there is no beach front to speak of. Its obvious this place is either being neglected or running on a shoestring. The cabins are dated. We were all bitten by spiders are first night there while sleeping. Spider bites on all are legs for the whole time there. The other reviewers are obviously not being so candid. We were hoping for something in normal condition as it is a vacation spot. I dont understand how this place survives at all. The owner is obviously an older gentleman without the resources to maintain it as an adequate vacaction facility. Its too bad because with some investment it probably could breath new life and not be such a dissappointment to those who blindly book a vacation there.

We stayed here recently and all I can say is he needs to hire some help. Pros- The air conditioning worked really well and the location was beautiful. Cons- Our cabin wasnt ready until almost exact check in time. We didnt have breakfast fixins like they advertised. I had to ask for them several times. There was no soap or shampoo of any kind. There was a dirty skillet in with the clean kitchen ware. The propane stove made a very loud clicking while in use. Surprised the place didnt blow up. When I say our sheets hadnt been changed, I mean it! When I pulled the quilt back there was DIRT at the foot of the bed and someone elses hair on our pillows. I could have written my name in the dust on the furniture. The shower smelled liked sewage. The dock on the water has a pretty large hole where it has rotted. Not safe to be standing on! If you walk out of your cabin after dark you better have a light with you bc there are NONE besides the Christmas lights on the deck. The porch and chairs were covered in spider webs and dust... SO much dust everywhere. There were several old bbq grills laying around that needed disposed of. An old junk car along the road. This place has potential but definitely would NOT ever stay here again. The reviews were so good on this place but they really dropped the ball. Holes in the furniture. The cabin should be rustic, not everything in it. Paid way too much to be so disappointed.

Loved this place! After looking at the many options of places to stay in Hot Springs for a last minute family get away, I am SO happy I found this special place. I read all the reviews online and looked at the pictures of the cabins, and I decided to book right away before some one else got our cabin. We were not dissappointed when got got there. We stayed in cabin 3, one of the original one bedrooms, and found it stocked with the breakfast fixins. The bed and the fold out futon were both comfortable and the cabin was clean. No problems cooking in the kitchen, and the shrared grill was large enough for both cabins to cook at the same time, if needed. Our cabin sat at the top of the hill and was just a short little walk to the lake. We all swam in the lake, my husband took one of the provided boats out, and we spent the evening hanging out at the beautiful gazebo and deck that had lights all around it that you could plug in. The nearby boat house provided life jackets and floaties for the kids. We took our family of four and our two little dogs and had a wonderful time. Skip, the owner was great, and you can tell he is very passionate about the place. What a great find, and so close to the main strip. We are looking forward to going back soon, as I want to make trips to Five Points a family tradition from here on out!
