Great food, awesome sushi bar and chef. Always nice people and great service. Theyve adapted their menu to make it thru this pandemic, always changing and giving their customers what they want. You really need to stay creative nowadays and theyve done a great job at it. Kudos to the owners and staff for keeping their menus and business going. Well done!

Great place to have a party, the location is Central to the island, parking is done by valet because the lot is tiny. A few rooms that can be configured for small and large parties.There service is good and when we needed time for our program they left us alone.Food is typical local Hawaii food and makes it unique for you to be formal or as informal as you need. I cant wait until we have another event there.

First time there, I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures. The food was amazing, I had the best misoyaki butterfish Ive ever had in my life. The sushi was fresh and tasty, barely used the shoyu and wasabi. The yuzu sorbet and citrus cheesecake were perfect. I actually remembered to take a picture of those. Make sure you call ahead and make your reservations at this sweet 100 year old teahouse with an beautiful view.I definitely will go again to try everything on the menu.

Love Natsunoya!! Ive attended and hosted many parties here. The food is delicious and their rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. I would come here to just eat their food if I could! My favorite for lunch is their agedashi tofu. I also love their eggplant and tempura... the batter is always so crispy! Recommend

Been here a couple times now for family events. The food is pretty good. My main gripe is that the tempura is greasy. But it’s a cool location. Overall chill vibe. And it’s clear the staff is trying. But I’d say there’s room for improvement.

We had a big room to ourselves and the food was delicious.

I came here for a company event and it had great views being high up on alewa heights. We are in the largeat room which was partitioned by wooden panels. It looks like a large house converted into a multi room restaurant. Interior hallways are well decorated and they have valet parking in the large lot for $3. There is limited street parking and I didnt know if I would get owed so I valeted. Food was really good. Had had the most expensive preset bento for $26 pwr person that came with 2 shrimp tempura, 4 pieces of tender beef, miso soup, sashimi, potatoe croquette, small konbu wrapping carrot/tuna, california roll, cucumber roll, seared eggplant, sauteed fried tofu. Look at the picture I posted. Great for parties because you can bring you own alcohol, drinks and appetizers with no additonal charge. They provide tea and water. I was told theybhave full catering but out group wasnt large enough for us to justify the cost. We will be back.

Many of us can relate when I say that this tea house is full of wonderful pre-COVID memories and has ALWAYS served as a staple in our community. Many dont think about their take out but let me tell you, the food is BEYOND SATISFYING. I love their vegetable tempura, ahi salad and miso salmon!

Awesome location but closed due to covid-19. Limited menu unfortunately due to virus but still with the trip up the hill.

Went to pick up bentos yesterday to support local businesses. Prices are okay. $10 and up. Food was good. Portions were good. Problem was that few workers were wearing masks. The cashier had his mask hanging from his ears. I offered him a disposable one but he declined. Only one worker seemed to be consistently wearing his mask properly. Not all kitchen staff had masks on. Besides good food, we want to know it is safe and that the business is practicing safety procedures.

What a terrific place to hold any type of function youre having. The service was great the surroundings was so peaceful. The food to die for their tempura was perfect. Just loved it there. We had a first birthday party there 16 years ago, today we had a baby shower. Everything so consistent sooo just right. 6 STARS + to Natsunoya Tea House. Loved, Loved, Love it there!

What a nice place to have a relaxed get together with family and friends. We reserved on of their private cottages, it felt like we were gathering at a friends house without having to cook or cleanup! 😁 Food, service and atmosphere make it the perfect package.

Always a great place! Comfortable to have conversations with friends with great food at reasonable prices. A definite must to consider place for your next get together. BYOB makes cost even less than other spots but still with A lot more attention and presence. Dehinite 5 star eating establishment at reasonable cost.

Because the food and service is so good, I have to give it four stars. Also, the view, of course! How could I forget to mention that! I think there are a bunch of things that are a bummer about this place. The parking is one thing. First of all, its in a residential area and the lot is so small. Its not a convenient place to get to because you go up and down hills, through narrow streets that curve and turn.. Its just not safe! Also, because theres not a lot of parking, chances are youll have to street park. Its not easy to find parking since this area is so congested, so youll have to park a bit further and walk here. Which.. doesnt feel safe, because again, the road is narrow and cars are zooming on by. However, the food was really delicious and I found myself taking some home because I liked it so much! The katsu, the noodles, the beef(?).. Yum! I really do see why people want to come here. Also, of course, the view is amazing. You see the sunset over the water. You see the buildings down below.. Its pretty breathtaking. I guess thats why it has to be up this high. However, its still a bummer. I also have to say that the bathrooms are awful! Two stalls? Is that really it? Its so cramped and pretty old too.. Very uncomfortable especially during big parties. Alas, though, I think I definitely see the reason why this place has stuck around and will continue to stick around. It has some type of charm that other places just.. Dont.

Had my nieces bridal shower here. Great private room and delicious food. Everyone enjoyed the food. You can bring your own drinks and take home the extra food. Highly recommend Natsunoya Tea House for your next event.

Amazing! Food was great. Service was excellent. The dining is limited to Sushi Bar and a few tables. Thats ok because the real beauty of this place are the private dining rooms tucked behind surrounded by beautiful Japanese gardens. Perfect place for a special occasion or to get a group of people together.

I have been going here for parties, weddings, graduations, etc. for years. The food is good and old school. Parking is valet only unless you park on the street yourself. Not many street parking spaces around. The place has many rooms of various sizes for your party. Large or small. Very rustic Japanese atmosphere. Leave shoes at the entry to the room. Many fond memories at this teahouse.

Please dont come to the sushi bar. It is very popular, and hard to get in. Sushi chef is from Japan and makes straightforward, no nonsense fresh and delicious sushi. Dont expect to get designer rolls with all kinds of special sauces that mask the taste of the rice and fish. Do bring your own beverages. Dont forget to bring one (or two) for the chef. Free valet parking for sushi bar patrons. Walk in without a reservation, and take a chance on walking right out, most nights are pretty booked. Limited items available from the kitchen, but if they have a lot of banquet parties, expect to wait. If you are here for a party in the banquet rooms, expect to leave stuffed. Good food served by kimono clad young ladies. Expect to take off your shoes, so dont wear complicated shoes, or holey socks.

We had a graduation party there for my daughter on the weekend ( Sunday). The parking situation is a bit of a hassle. Its a valet service which cost $6.00. The service and food is exceptional especially the shrimp tempura.

Food was plentiful and delicious. The service was courteous and efficient. It was a comfortable and clean venue. I definitely would like to go back again.

Food is yummy and the Japanese atmosphere is fun and comforting. Love taking off our shoes like how you do at restaurants in Japan.

Awesome view from the viewing window and excellent food and great service from the staff. I would have given 5 stars if they had an elevator to assist in transporting heavy items and handicap people to the upper levels in lieu toting same via the stairway which can be unsafe.

Very beautiful Kanreki celebration we all had for my husband in the Nigo room. Great service from our 2 servers and some guests complimented the food. Beautiful view and perfect space for our party size of 45.We all had a wonderful time!

Parking is absolutely horrible. Valet fills up super fast. I typically have to park blocks away. If it werent for specific parties, I would never go. View are A++.

Food is great and service was good. Only problem was parking. Its valet parking only now. I specifically went early so I could park in the outer stall, but they said I couldnt park there. Shucks, I shouldve parked on the street. That wouldve been free.

Always great food and service is great. But, WTH is up with the valet? Those guys need some serious customer service training and drive around in that tiny parking lot like maniacs. I think it would be better to just have a couple of parking attendants that would help you self park. Get rid of the valet. I always look for street parking because of it.

In the sushi bar, there are possibly three tall bar tables and the rest is seating at bar only. Felt so at ease bringing our own sake and beer. From there it was amazing. The sushi chef was making for everyone bar and party orders. The ( hamachi collar), order early while waiting on handmade fresh sushi and sashimi with all the fixings. Very nice memory.

Spent an evening with friends at the sushi bar. Great experience. An historic place too.

On our yearly visit to Honolulu, we dine at the Tea House. It is wonderful, the fatty blue fin tuna melts in your mouth. I love the atmosphere. And the view is beautiful.

Celebrated my moms birthday here and was extremely happy with the food and the service here. They have blended some of the old traditional Japanese dishes with some new preparations and kept some of my old favorites on the menu. The braised ribs, grilled eggplant with miso, and hamachi carpachio were my winners for this night.

We go there at least once a year and the food is always amazing. There is a cold eggplant dish, salad, rice, pork tonkatsu, shrimp and vegetable tempura, spicy tuna roll, miso salmon, teriyaki steak, miso soup, karaage chicken with a wasabi drizzle. Only thing missing is a dessert. Ant the sunsets and city lights overlooking downtown is pretty amazing

Very authentic Japanese tea house nestled in Kalihi, near Kamehameh School. Food was delicous and service is awesome. Tip: Make sure to wear sandals or shoes that slip off easily because you must remove your shoes when dining.🎎🎏
