Had the Thursday special for lunch, the smoked brisket sandwich -- absolutely delicious. Really nice view of Ala Moana Park as well, with plenty of ventilation. Not cheap, but sometimes ya gotta splurge and enjoy life!

I was so excited to see Mariposa back open after a year of being closed but was sadly disappointed today.It took 10 minutes for anyone to stop at our table, let alone give us water.Once our appetizer chowder soup was given to us, I had to ask them if they stopped serving the consomme (MY FAVORITE). The waiter said oh you havent received it yet?? Nope. So finally got that. Oh and they didnt give us spoons with our chowder so had to ask & wait for those too.I really was disappointed with my entrée, I ALWAYS used to order the Lobster Club so of course I ordered it after missing it. It was basically thrown together without a care - there was one chunk of avocado that was eaten in one bite, one measly piece of lettuce & lobster AND bacon were skimpy. Sad sandwich.My expectations are high for Mariposa, theyve always had exceptional service & food but not today.Oh and they need booster seats for toddlers, they only offer highchairs which my little one has grown past that phase but still needs a boost.

Mariposa was delicious! I had the Pork Chops and a Bikini Blonde Ale for lunch. The chops were tender and tasty and the ale matched perfectly.The menu is abbreviated from what I remember it being pre COVID-19 but Im so happy that they have reopened. A musician played guitar and added to the ambiance. I will be going back there again soon.

We had made reservations months out and we also received confirmation of that reservation via email. A day out we called to say we were adding one more to the party but they said that there was no such reservation.. but after giliving confirmation# from email it said we had cancelled (4th of July lunch) Long story short they apologized and made everything happen. Due to COVID the staff seemed to be extremely shorthanded but the service and food were good to go. Thank you.

Excellent place to eat at Alo Moana shopping center.Took a place at the bar since all the tables were filled. Guy behind the bar was friendly and alert. The atmosphere is nice and slightly upscale - the fans are a nice touch and the bar looks lovely. The food was simply excellent. The fried asparagus was a wonderful dish to start with and their take on the Loco Moco simply wonderful - beef patty with a sunny side up egg with just the right amound of runniness and rice underneath. Certainly worth a visit if youre in the neighbourhood!

What a great start to the weekend! We were at the Ala Moana center on friday evening and the same question came up...where to eat. Didnt feel like food court and we felt like getting something special to kick off a friday and weekend. We perused the Mariposa menu via yelp and on my phone which looked enticing. I called and made reservations with the hostess for a 5pm seating. When we arrived, the entire place was empty and they asked us to wait while they got ready for dinner service. We were seated the second row from the balcony overlooking a spectacular view of Ala Moana park and the pacific ocean.Our server presented himself and promptly got us served our drinks and their famous monkey bread which I had about 3 pieces with their whipped butter. It was sheer delightful as I enjoyed the warm pull apart and soft buttery bread as an appetizer! We ordered the prime rib loco moco which is served over garlic rice and a starter of corn chowder. The chowder is very rich and flavorful but they serve it with some sprinkling of popcorn over it which I did not care for. One of the main attractions at this Mariposa is the view from the balcony and as the sun started to set during our meal, they raised the shade to unveil a beautiful orange colored sky which appeared to be on fire. All of the camera phones came out and it was picture time for all of the diners.Our main entrees arrived and the loco moco looked spectacular. It came with a side serving of the au jus and the eggs cooked to your preference. I very rarely eat beef but this was a special treat for me and it was tender, portions were very sufficient and I totally enjoyed my dinner entree. The manager (I cannot recall his name) visited all of the tables himself to ensure service and food were up to par. He even stopped by twice which I love to see in a restaurant as this shows that they genuinely care about service. We were very satisfied and full after the entree but who can pass up dessert right? NOT Me! We ordered the Old Pali Road dessert and I can totally recommend this. It is a chocolate mousse sitting on top of a oatmeal cookie crust and topped with a marshmellow infusion. This was a real treat!The entire dinner service and food was excellent and a wonderful start to a friday evening and weekend. Thanks Mariposa, we will be back!!

Really enjoyed lunch here. The drink specials were unique and tasty, and complimentary popovers and consommé were also great. We had the lobster club, and everything on it was fresh. The fries and dipping sauce were also yummy. The service was very nice but a little slow. I also used open table to make a reservation but at 12:00 they weren’t busy for lunch yet on a Saturday. The view from the lanai was pretty but a little hot.

Atmosphere is perfect ( terrace seating gets really hot during sunmer season ) When gets busy, services become poor. However, their monkey bread is sooooo good :) I would come back for its atmosphere and that bread. By the way, their spaghetti bolognaze was not what I expected. (As of 5/8/2017)

Always a great place to eat for a break during shopping. There is always a lunchtime wait so I recommend making reservations. Great food (especially the free pop-overs). Great Beer!

The service was even better than ever by James Richardson. He extended his service, was most accommodating and has an outstanding service towards whom ever he is servicing. We were all delighted by James and it was quite refreshing since he seemed new with an outstanding personality in servicing us. He was different from any server we’ve ever had which was delightful and pleasing! We look forward to having him wait on us again.

Great service. This restaurant is in Nieman Marcus of Ala Moana shopping mall. There is nice outdoor seating overlooking the Ala Moana beach. Lots of tadty choices on the lunch menu. There is an excellent wine list.

This is the very first place I go to when I get to Waikiki. I usually enjoy the mornings sunrises and walk onwards to the Ala Moana Shopping center.The entrance is from Neiman Marcus and already it’s a beautiful place. Because this department is always decorated extremely well and on the way to the escalator we pass the fragrance shops and ladies shoes.My girlfriend takes a quick look at what she wants and then we go to Mariposa to relax dine and enjoy the atmosphere and views.The must have are the pop overs with the strawberry butter. Everything else on the menu is good. We usually get a seafood curry and have the chef portion it into two plates so we can share. I also love the salmon and local ingredients dishes.Can’t wait to have a family vacation with the entire family and eat here all together !

A truly beautiful setting, overlooking Ala Moana Beach Park and the ocean. So beautiful, in fact, I saw a picture from the Mariposa used in a Maui Jim ad when we were in Las Vegas! The food is very good, if a little pricey, but worth the price to sit and relax.

This is by far my favorite restaurant on the island of Oahu. The service is exceptional and the food is even better. The atmosphere is unlike any other. If you want the best......I highly advise you to try them out.

Me, my daughter and 7 month grandaughter arrived at 11 am. Only 6 tables filled. We were told there was a 10 minute wait. They told the couple in front of me they also had to wait. I repeated in disbelief while looking around the almost empty big dining room: 10 minutes? Yes, said the reception matter of factly. So we left and ate at the Espresso Bar.

Wasnt horrible/wasnt great. For the price the service and food was okay. Our waiter was wonderful, waiting for a table was not that great. We were given 45 minute wait time for a table while there were many many tables empty and about 4 or 5 tables waiting to be cleaned. We were sat after 30 minutes at one of the many tables that were open, and the tables that were not cleared and cleaned were still not touched. I used to have lunch here once or twice a week . I think the quality and service has definitely gone down.

Never ever get their family steak. It is an absolute rip off!!!!! Everything on the menu is fine but steer away from the family steak.

Had an early dinner, 5:00pm, at the restaurant. Havent been here in awhile so decided to give it a try. My wife had the scampi with home made pasta and the Kahuku corn chowder. I had the sliced tenderloin and chowder. The chowder was extremely thick and just warm when it was served. The scampi was good, however, the pasta was dry and spongy. It was not palatable so my wife only ate the shrimp. The tenderloin was overcooked and dry, very unappealing and unappetizing presentation. The dish was just a brown blob on a oversize dish.

Overall this is an attractive ocean view restaurant. However, very disappointed when I ordered turkey sandwich on pita bread. Literally, eveything was ON the pita bread (actually an open-face sandwich) and much too difficult to eat. Thought pita bread was supposed to be a pocket-type bread and everything stuffed inside. Not so...for the price of $18 I expected much, much more...not even your sweet potato fries??? Shame on you for serving rotten tomatoes. Menu has changed tremendously since 3 years ago.

The balcony view is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the plantation tea - fruit tea with a pineapple wedge - is relaxing. The au jus for the French dip is like its own dish and could stand alone.

We ordered the Kabocha carbonara and Arare Crusted Kampachi. Both were terrible. The Carbonara was a real heavy mushy sauce that caused the noodles to stick together and the Kabocha was overdone so very mushy. The Kampachi was dry and served with the skin that was crusted which they say is Arare. The sauce was also very bland and color very unappetizing.We have eaten at Mariposa before but this was a total disappointment. The menu has really gone down hill!We don’t plan to ever return!!!

Great place to see sunset and fireworks. But foods quality was way lower than what I expected. No balance, no creativity, lack of service minds. Just recomend to couples who can not be bothered by anything else but each other.

Very tasty food in a fancy atmosphere, but service is minimum. We went by the set menu for $55 that included appetizers, two dishes and dessert--enough to get full. With an additional $25 you can get pair wine--prosecco and the other glass was nice but the rose in between was not good, the waiter did not even bother to tell us the name of the wine.

Milanese parmigiana with cous cous was excellent here! As was the poke.The Maitre d Michelle made us feel most welcomed her like we were family!

Lobster club and barbecue fries are back. They call the fries something else, but its bbq flavored. $30They must be on a campaign to push/sell their lychee strawberry tea drink. T comes with a scoop of lychee ice cream floating in the drink. But the pink drink itself has absolutely no flavor. I asked for the regular tea when the waiter came to refill.

The food was good. I had a gift certificate, but when I presented it my server came back and said it had expired and I had to pay with a different card, which I did. Afterwards, I went downstairs to customer service, where they told me there was nothing whatsoever wrong with my card and that their gift cards do not expire. First of all the manager on duty did not even greet us when we approached the check in, we did not have a reservation but wanted to view the place for possible vendor for my sisters bridal shower. The manager on duty which I wont disclose names YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE could not even accommodate a family of 3 and a baby. She Explained that if we wanted to dine in here we would have to be seated outside. Mind you that its also hot degree humid weather and I have my 21month old son with me. The restaurant had so many open tables and the manager said that all these tables were reserved for those that had reservations to begin with. So of course we waited... After waiting a good 30 min- NONE OF THE SEATS/TABLES INSIDE THE RESTAURANT WERE OCCUPIED ....!!!! A table that was next to the bathrooms were give to us. No thank you for waiting or enjoy was said to us.Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service talk about lying to your customers. Not only did we have issues with the seating but The wait was soooo long to order. I understand we didnt have any reservations but please just let us know if you dont want to SERVE us we would be out our merry way.. Instead it took us1) 10 min to get water2) 20 min after that to order3) we received our food on time but our waiter Mr, Cezar did not refill our waters, remove out appetizer plates after getting our main course meal and did not even offer us a dessert menu.4) after finally flagging Someone to come to help us at our table since we were dehydrated we asked for the check... It was a 25 minute wait for the check..5) all in all we were there 2 hours and 5 min for a light brunch meal including wait time and had 1 refill of water...I dont know if it was a bad day to go over to Mariposa. It was a Sunday 1pm brunch...? I am DEFINITELY NOT coming back here and I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT recommend coming here unless you want to be dehydrated and wait for an hour hour or so for a waiter to ask how you are doing. Please save your money and go some place else.

This is my go-to lunch at Ala Moana Shopping Center. The consumme, popovers and butter never get old. Theres always something new and seasonal on the menu, but I always veer towards their salads. Sit outside for an ocean-side view.

ハワイに訪れる際に必ずいきます。会社の同僚からオススメされとりこになりました。ニーマンマーカス(百貨店)の中にあります。アラモアナセンターと繋がっています。アラモアナセンターの人混みと変わり百貨店であることから人もほどほどに上品なお客様も多そうです。案内される場所によりますが、ビーチや公園を眺めながらゆっくりと食事することができます。料理は写真の通りとなりますがファミリーで約1万5千円程度あれば充分にいただくことができます。日本では全く食べない「いんげん」もここではむしゃむしゃ食べれます。特に美味しいのが、パンです。(メイン料理でなく本当に恐縮)クロワッサンまでパリパリではないのですがそれに似た生地でしっとり甘めな味でここでしか味わえないです。日本のノリでバカみたいに手をあげておかわりばかりしていると当然嫌な顔されますのでご注意を。またコロナが落ち着いたらファミリーでお伺いしたいお店です。

Sweaty place that is difficult to understandInside the Alamo Rana Center, a luxury department store called Neiman Marcus. Because the wording is different on the center and on several floors, I am overwhelmed. There is an elevator on the west side of the sea side.The toilet was in the department store, and I thought it was a baby bed, it was outside the toilet. Unexpectedly, it was a John Mattang menu. Was the burger named Mariposa Burger? The taste was a normal burger, and the fries that came with it came out in two flavors, potatoes and sweet potatoes. This was another unexpected discovery.The lemonade, punch, and cooler that I ordered for drinks were all about $6, and the taste was good.Three drinks and three foods are about 88$ including tax.This shop is worth visiting for a decent lunch in Hawaii.
