I asked for a high fade. Using 0 lower half fading to a 1 on the upper half. I asked the lady, who said she was in a rush, (should have never had her cut my hair) if she knew how to do that and what to do. She looked confused but said yes. She then immediately got a 0 and buzzed my left side up to the part.On the right side it wasnt much better.. Terrible experience. My advice to you is dont say you can do something (like a fade) when you cant. Also take your time when cutting a customers hair, needs to be longer than 5 minutes.Dont recommend for the younger crowd. Go find a real barber.
Great Haircut combined with great service. I go regularly even though I moved to NYC.
Ask for Beatriz. She is the best.
Its been 5 months since my last haircut. Great news to see Nancy had reopened her barber shop! I had grown attached to my longish hair, and she knew exactly what to do. I also felt very comfortable with how the barber shop had establish social distancing - very clean, ventilated, and it was just me and Nancy, and the masks. Thanks again, Nancy! I, and my hair, appreciate your excellent skills in barbery!
This fun, cute little shop is OPEN FOR BUSINESS. For some reason GOOGLE refuses to correct this info on their website although it has been requested to do so repeatedly.Come on down and get a great affordable haircut by Nancy and her gang.
Amazing experience. Nancy is the absolute best. Great haircuts, reasonable prices. Highly recommend. Ive tried numerous different barbers in the area and would say this is the best one.
Great haircut. Great people. Dont miss out.
This is my favorite barber for the past 13 years. I did go to another one about a block away when it first opened a year or two ago that felt more like a factory and decided never again. I shouldnt get stressed when Im just going to get a quick cut and the energy there was frantic. At First Street Jesse is my preferred barber (for the past decade or so) and not only does he actually listen to what I want and give me an even cut that I get a good 4 or 5 weeks out of, the energy there is light, fun and no drama. What more does anyone want? Its like stopping into part authentic barber/part cheers (where everybody knows your name) and less then 30 minutes later Im out w/a fresh cut, relaxed and only $20/+tip lighter in my pocket. Not a bad deal.
Best bang for your buck in Hoboken. Ask for Beatrice and you won’t be disappointed! I read some bad reviews and they were probably for an angry old man who used to work there, he was the worst, but Beatrice is the best in town. 20 bucks for guys and you’re in and out looking solid.
Jesse at First St Barber is my go to stylist for my haircuts and I have never had a bad cut. The shop is quaint and clean, a good energy and efficient. I prefer making an appointment in advance so I know Jesse is there, but I have seen people walking in too. Some shops in town are way too pushy so for the past couple years this is the only shop I use.
This has been my barbershop for the last 3 years. I usually go to Jerry or Jesse, but Nancy and Sandy also do a good job. They listen to what I want and I always walk out with a cut Id be happy to make a first impression with.
Terrible cut, asked for a simple fade-part and she wasnt able to do it. very patchy and the top was butchered. I had to go to another shop (Clubhouse, which was very good) to have them clean up the mess as best the could.
Ive been going here for about 8 years. Great Hoboken original! Primarily see Jesse and Nancy, but Sandy is amazing as well! No nonsense, great price, accessible. I love them!
First Street Barber is a gem in Hoboken. Ive been a patron for 18 years and get my hair cut here every three to four weeks with consistently great results. I now live on 14th Street, but it is worth the walk downtown. If you are looking for a professional, down-to-earth barber shop with an old-school feel and old-school prices, check it out.
Worst hair cut I have ever received. I came in with long hair and asked for a specific cut. The man who cut my hair said he understood what I was looking for then proceeded to cut off over 3 inches of when I asked for at most one inch off the top. I will need to get my hair cut again as there is no shape or style to it. I will never return to this barber shop.
Jeremy did a horrible job cutting the hair, not only ruined the already good style but also didn’t even offer to brush off the cut hair from my neck. Bad cut and worse customer service, Do Not Come.
Fantastic experience! By far the coolest barber shop I have ever been to and everyone is so nice!
The worst haircut i have ever had. i dont know the name of the guy that cut my hair, but he literally just chopped off random pieces of hair. i had stripes of long and short hair on the top of my head. i had to go somewhere else to get it fixed and they couldnt believe how anyone could give a haircut like that.i was the only one in the place, too, so its not like he was in a rush.never go here if you want a haircut you can show up to work with.
Always a great cut..amazing service
Jesses my go to guy. He does whats asked and does it well. I Always walk out feeling like a Million bucks
Great haircut at great price.
The best in Hoboken by far.
Had a poor chair it came here and they fixed it.
No frills cheap haircuts, exactly the sort of establishment that is getting harder to find in NJ/NYC metro.
Great haircut
