I contacted a bunch of people in their field and was stood up and given crazy quotes by almost all of them. Tanous not only has reasonable pricing, but is great to work with and is very trustworthy. I just moved to Hoboken and employed the services of Tanous for my HVAC maintenance. These guys are incredibly professional and good communicators. Recently, I called to schedule my heating maintenance. I scheduled it for Veterans Day. After I hung up the phone, they called me back to ask if Im a veteran b/c they offer discounts for vets.Im not a veteran, but the fact that they called back to ask is really commendable.

I was so lucky that I found and called them to replace my AC system! Long story short I was quoted an outrageous price by 2 separate companies, it’s mid summer and everyone is super busy so I thought I was stuck paying whatever anyone wanted me to. I called Tanous (we used them once last year and they were able to fix our ac but told us we only had about year left and it was almost exactly a year later that our ac went out, he definitely knows his stuff!! ) and although they were very busy after I explained what happened, that we were being quoted crazy prices, and would have to wait 2 weeks or more for it to be replaced he came over right away to look at it. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and understanding, he not only quoted me almost half of what I was quoted by 2 others ( I didn’t tell him what I was quoted until after he gave me his quote so he wasn’t even trying to beat them he is just extremely honest), he said he would be able to do it that day or next, then I got a call and he told me he was sending his crew over in a half hour to replace it for me! They came and worked efficiently, professionally, and quickly, the job was done in less than 3 1/2 hours! I am so grateful and thankful that I was able to find them! I would recommend and use them a million times over!! I promise if you call them you will be making the right decision!

My wife and I moved into a condo building in Jersey City, and within a year, the HVAC crapped out! We had no idea what to do or who to turn to. We called so many companies and they all either ignored us, never showed up or quoted incredibly high prices. Finally we got referred tanous. The other company did not fix the problem and misdiagnosed the issue. We then contacted Tanous and they fixed the issue. Our only mistake in 2019 was not using Tanous in the first place. We have used Tanous for hot water heater installation, HVAC work (including new system installation) and repair work on the old system. Mike, the owner, has personally visited our home several times to give estimates and make sure we were satisfied. He even traveled over an hour to my parent’s apartment to undertake a massive project for them. EVERYONE at this business is professional, kind and considerate. Chris even fit us in when our air conditioner wasn’t working and our 16 yr old dog couldn’t take the heat. After having many companies come out to try and fix a heating issue, Tanous Heating was the only one that was able to do it. They were easy to work with and were cost effective. I would absolutely recommend them.

Tanous was fantastic. I had a couple of different companies come out for a diagnostic prior, and Tanous was so much better than all the others.They came out, told us exactly what was wrong with our mini split system (and that the last owner hired non qualified people to do the work), and scheduled a time and reasonable quote to move and repair our units.When they did come out to do the repair they spent 10 hours and did amazing work. Took their time, were very clean, knew exactly what they were doing. Our system now works flawlessly and we couldn’t be happier with the work.I highly, highly recommend. It’s always hard finding good folks in the service industry who are honest, fair, and knowledgeable, but these will be my go to HVAC guys for as long as I live in Hoboken.

I had a terrible experience with them. I would give 0 star if I could. They canceled twice at the last minute before they finally showed up. Always with suspicious excuses such as I have a family emergency just few minutes before the appointment is scheduled to start. When they finally show up, they come up with suspicious charges that were never quoted during the assessment. They say theyre 24/7, but they never pick up the phone either.All in all, they are unreliable, unprofessional and they give false promises. They do not show up, no follow up on issues related to thir service after collecting their fees. ***** Negative *****

Not only theyve installed the wrong equipment, they lied about what the capacity of that equipment was. After several phone calls and emails they decided they dont wanna do the job anymore leaving us with useless equipment installed and no solution. YOUVE BEEN WARNED.

During the past 6 months Kris and the owner Mike have provided great knowledge and guidance on the process. When I move forward with the replacement, I will definitely trust them to do the work and in the meantime I will likely hire them to do a servicing to the HVAC system.

I would highly recommend Tanous for all of HVAC needs. They were able to help install a new furnace the day after ours died in the middle of the summer. Alex was very responsive, even took the time to FaceTime to help diagnose the issues the night our AC stopped working.

Tanous is the only HVAC service you ever need to call. The guys are very professional, know what they are doing and look out for the customer. No detail is too small and every precaution is taken to ensure the best operation of your unit. They may charge a bit more than some, but it is worth every cent. You can always find someone to just hook something up, but these guys do it the right way with the best parts which adds efficiency, extends unit life, and reduces the chance of breakdowns. Alex and his crew were really great from start to finish. They delivered well beyond my expectations (when does that ever happen?) and stepped up to help us resolve some issues completely unrelated to our HVAC. After dealing with them, I am very confident they will stand by their work if there ever is a problem (which I see as very unlikely). Ive had a very good response with my interactions with Tanous HVAC. The owner is very very responsive to your least concern. I was in a bind because the weather was about to get hot the week my hvac stoped working. Alex, even though his office told me was busy for weeks, when he learned of my emergency sent workers there the very next day. I had just gotten an estimate to replace the unit for 10k from another company, because they said the condenser was shot. His worker came in and was able to FIX my supposedly shot condenser on the spot and only costs me hundreds instead of thousands. Alex then called me and went over, in great detail, exactly what he did and how I can tell when the unit is actually shot for the future. In an area where companies screw you on a regular basis because they can, Tanous was responsive, professional and above, all else wasn’t out to screw the customer. I HIGHLY recommend

It takes me a long time to find a company to turn them into energy efficient units. They offer their expertise on installation and tips on saving the energy. Two technicians were both very friendly and patient during the work. They are also very professional in term of caring the details, such as following my buildings instruction, wearing shoes covers and cleaning the floor after work. Basically a bait and switch tactic. I went with the great reviews here and had them come and give me an estimate. They did send someone to take a look and the person quoted a rate before he left and assured that they would take care of it. A few days later, I receive a quote with a much inflated price than was previously quoted by Mike when he inspected the issue. After I questioned it, they said they would come back to me after chatting amongst themselves. A few weeks later Im still waiting after numerous excuses.Another reviewer quoted that they do not care about the $$, but about great service. Unfortunately in my case it was nothing but $$ that they cared about.Update - The owner contacted me and apologized for this. They did alleviate the noise issue (75% better than it was before, which I am fine with) I had with the HVAC with an alternative method rather than the original plan and did it with a 20 minute visit and no charge. Im glad we got this resolved and appreciate the customer service.

After my plumber improperly installed my boiler and Nest thermostat, Tanous came to the rescue and spent hours trying to troubleshoot the issue. They could not have been more detail oriented in explaining the issues to me and were able to solve the problem and save my brand new boiler.

Honesty, transparent and customer satisfaction number one on their list— many companies wouldn’t touch my unique heating system but they worked diligently crunching numbers and answering all my questions. Do not hesitate in using them -

I had a radiator that was leaking water and needed to get it fixed ASAP. I left a note via their website, and Chris called me a couple of hours later. It was a late Wednesday afternoon, and they said their next availability was Friday morning between 9 am and 12 pm. They send a technician a little bit before 9, he took a look and said we would need a new valve and pipe. (Also really appreciated that he put shoe covers over his work boots so as to not scuff up our floor). He left for about an hour to pick up some parts but he was able to fix it the same day. We had another radiator with the same problem, which he got done within a few hours as well. The total cost was $650, which I dont think was too terrible. Overall, communication with Chris was quick and easy. Service was good too, since the radiator is not leaking anymore! Definitely would recommend Tanous HVAC.

My HVAC broke down recently. I spoke with several contractors all whom came to check things out and provide an estimate. Tanous was by far the most reasonably priced. Decided to go with them based on that and based on the honesty of the guys that came to look.HVAC was installed by another group of guys who where really friendly, considerate and super hard working. Had a issue the next day and immediately they sent over the first two guys to identify the issues and fix it. A great company with great employees from the owner who stopped by to the installers to the service guys. all top notch, highly recommended.

Needed maintenance and a leak repair before the weather gets hotter and called Tanous. They were on schedule and got the job done. Todd was one of the technicians and he was very knowledgeable recommending some tips to keep our units running smoothly. I called TANOUS HVAC...they were prompt in time. Alex and his coworker fixed my heat in a very professional manner. They were knowledgeable and explained everything to me about what the problem initially was. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

After getting poor service from 3 prior HVAC vendors, we count ourselves fortunate in finding Tanous. Entering a heatwave, we contacted Tanous on a Friday morning; luckily, they had a cancellation and sent Johnny (?), who arrived at the beginning of the service window.We have a pretty big house, with 4 condensers....and Alex (one of the owners) also came by to inspect what needed to be done. Turned out that we had to replace a blower motor and the control board on one of the units, among other maintenance items which required service.We were very impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail, pricing, and service quality. They were able to get the replacement parts the same day, and stayed until 9:30 PM... on a Friday night (!), to finish the job! To replace the blown motor and control board, they had to crawl into the attic, which the temp was well above 120+ degrees...and had a positive and helpful attitude the entire time. Towards the end of the job, when they were putting on the tie-cords on new insulation padding, they even took the time to snip the excess strips of the cords for a neater look/appearance...and this was after 9 PM!We deal with alot of home improvement vendors, and have to say Alex & Johnny, as well as the entire Tanous team, were not only informative and explained everything they were doing, but also advised us NOT to spend $$ on certain things which they explained were not necessary, and wouldnt be cost-efficient.If I could give them 10-stars, I would...the only hesitation I have in recommending them is that they will get too busy to schedule us in next time! Other than that, do yourselves a favor and dont even consider calling anyone else for your HVAC needs!

Ive tried to work with quite a few different heating and cooling shops around the area and am so glad to finally have found the guys at Tanous. I cant say enough about these guys. They are the first company to finally get everything working in my house and to explain how things work and what I need to know to maintain the equipment. I had another (well known in Hoboken) HVAC guy come in and tell me I needed a new boiler (and give me a $15k proposal for it). Tanous came in and showed me why that made no sense and had the system delivering fantastic heat for a few hundred dollars! They basically did the same with my rooftop unit; talking me out of replacing it (which two other shops told me I needed) and repairing it instead. Since then they have added baseboard heat in a room that had no heat, repaired a broken pipe (where no other plumber could find the source of venting steam), and finally got the heat working in my basement, which no one else had been able to do. Their techs are all pleasant to have in the house, their pricing is fair and (very importantly) they come when they setup appointments, and that has included weekends and holidays.

Ive never written a review before, but after the great customer service ive had with Tanous HVAC, i had to leave one. Theres currently a heat wave, my home was over 90 degrees and my landlord was not getting back to my emails about my ac not working. I called Tanous, i explained to Chris the situation. I was having an issue with the AC in my condo that I rent out. It seemed like the motor was slow and the transformer was getting hot. There are two tenants and they have pets so I was anxious to get things fixed. The workers that came out - Todd and a helper - were very knowledgable, clean and professional. They rigged to to work till they were able to order and get the new part. The part came in and they fit an appointment in their schedule so that my tenants would have AC. I really appreciated how quickly they attended to everything. Alex went above and beyond explaining the bill and making sure I was satisfied . I highly recommend them if you need HVAC repair.

The problem of my rooftop AC has haunted me for years. And I decided this year to have the system checked up by professionals. I contacted Tanous on their website and got reply in a hour and appointment fixed in a day. Initially I thought there was only a leak of freon but Todd and his colleague did carefully a comprehensive diagnosis and identified another big problem from a fault contactor on the unit. They did a quick repair while offering me a very reasonable price. Todd is a real charm with high professional expertise. He explained me carefully every details of the problems. Todd and Carlos were great! I had Tanous perform an annual check-up of my HVAC unit at my apartment in Hoboken. They respected my place by wearing booties (shoe covers) while in the apartment. They were pleasant to talk with and answered all of my questions. We even went to the roof and they explained what type of AC unit I had and the different components.It’s nice that Tanous has a Hoboken location as many skilled technicians will not work in Hoboken because of the parking and so on. Chris, the office manager, was always available when I called. It was easy to schedule an appointment and the prices were reasonable.I will definitely be using Tanous in the future.

After an agonizing search for a good and reliable company, Alex and his team came to my apartment in hoboken to replace my HVAC system after 3 companies walked away from the job. When I realized the complicity of the job and how smoothly the Tanous team got it done. I was amazed. These guys are magicians, highly recommended.

I called them to come to my apartment around 6pm. A tech came by an hour after i called, they fixed it at a very fair price. I then decided to replace my 20yr old system and Alex came out to give me an estimate. I was given a credit for the service to use toward the install. I called many times to ask questions and not once did I feel like I was being a nuisance. They encouraged me to ask as many questions as I wanted which I thought was great. Once the install was done they gave me a thorough rundown on everything I needed to know from filter replacements to annual maintenance. lastly I asked about a Wi-Fi thermostat but did not want to pay the extra $250, they included anyway free of charge. They are very detail oriented I highly recommend them.

My AC unit broke at 12:00 midnight and I have an older person living in my house. I called Tanous HVAC and a technician showed up within a half hour and fixed the problem immediately. They are very honest, reliable and did not charge me an extra fee for coming out after hours.I highly recommend them and will definitely use their service again.

These guys were great from start to finish. I came home from a vacation to find one of my two furnaces had shut off. I called a different company to have a look they told me that basically my furnace was shot, and would need to get a new furnace, coil, and condenser since R22 wont be produced anymore after 2020. I had a friend refer me towards Tanous. Alex, Mike, and Kris were all great. They never tried to upsell me and were always very price conscious unlike other companies. They answered all the questions I had day and night to walk me through the process. The day of the installation the teams was professional and very courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and sent a technician the next day to check that everything was working right.
