We are VERY disappointed with Island Getaway. We have used them before and they were fine when we had no issues. We just checked in to 3107 Windsor Court and were greeted with dead bugs in the bathtub, broken closet doors, the headboard on one of the beds is not attached properly, some of the comforters and pillow coverings are dirty or stained, the front of the stove wasnt cleaned, the patio floor is filthy, the overall condition is outdated. When we called the office the only solution Amanda offered was to have the cleaning crew and maintenance come out. We asked to have someone from the rental office come by to look at the condition of the condo but were told they are so busy they cant have someone come out. So now we are stuck waiting for a cleaning crew and maintenance. This is definitely not what we paid for. In fact, when we booked 3107 the rep told us it was a very nice place. Its not!Update: 8/14/21 5:41 pm. As I wait for the cleaning crew and maintenance, rather than spending time with my family enjoying my first night of vacation, I have noticed a few other items I need to document so that Island Getaway does not try to charge us for them. I tried to call to report them but the office is now closed. There is a hole in the wall under the kitchen counter on the side where the stools are located and one of the electrical outlets in the kitchen does not work.Update: 8/14/21 7:00 PM. The maintenance guy arrived around 5:45 PM. Very nice young man. He fixed the closet doors, got some of the TVs to work that the Island Getaway inspector previously noted, fixed the electrical outlet in the kitchen, took note of the hole in the wall, checked out the filthy patio and acknowledged it would need to be power washed, and sort of fixed a headboard on one of the beds that was very loose (it is a poor design and there was nothing more he could do). Still no cleaning crew to address the dead bugs in the tub, the dirty oven door, the dirty/stained comforters and pillow coverings. I get the feeling this place hasnt been rented in a while and the cleaning crew probably didnt clean it or give it a once over prior to our arrival.Update 8/14/21 8:15 PM. No sign of the cleaning crew so I left to meet my family for dinner. We purchased our own cleaning items and cleaned the tub when we got back. Obviously our concerns were not very important to Island Getaway. The comforters and pillow coverings are the same as those shown in the listing pictures (except for one room), and who knows how long ago those pictures were taken and how long the stains have been there. The patio looks MUCH cleaner in the promotional photos than it does in person.Update 8/15/21 9:14 am. Our unpleasant experience continues. The master shower does not work properly. And still no word from the cleaning crew. Our relaxing vacation hasnt been very relaxing.Update 8/15/21 12:25 PM. Maintenance came out very quickly and addressed the shower issue. He was very nice. It was user error and he showed us how to operate it correctly. Anna from Island Getaway called back at 10:50 am. Shes apparently not a manager as I had requested but she was very nice. She said the cleaning crew came out late last night and no one was there. I waited around until 8:15 PM before joining my family for dinner. The cleaning crew is short staffed today but is supposed to be out to do a full cleaning, so we have been rotating among our family to have someone there for their arrival. Anna was very polite and apologized a few times. Apparently she is going to speak with her manager tomorrow about some type of compensation for our inconvenience.Update 8/16/21 5:30 PM. A cleaning crew was supposed to come yesterday and we were told by Anna in the morning that they should be out soon. By 1:45 pm they had not arrived, so we called and told Anna to cancel. Someone did come to clean the filthy patio. Today Anna called to say they will refund us $250.00. We will no longer use Island Getaway for upcoming vacations to HHI.

We have been renting from Island Getaway for years and have always found them extremely helpful. If something goes wrong, they always take care of it in a timely fashion. This year Amanda made our transition from the condo we stayed in the first week to a house for the second week go very smoothly. We so appreciated how she went out of her way to make that happen. She is very efficient, informative and friendly. We will be renting from Island Getaway for many years to come.

The room 110 Northshore alone and location was great. The rental company and cleaners not so much. We came in to a dirty room. The cleaners finally showed up then we had to re clean when they left. They cleaned bedroom and bathroom came out had hands in dirty floor and trash and immediately unloaded clean dishes without washing hands and on to nasty counter that had not been cleaned. Put nasty mop in kitchen sink and never sanitized it or even washed it out. We took Clorox wipes when they left and they were black with dirt when we wiped the counter. They were not even going to vacuum the food out of the floor until we asked about it. And the credit offered felt like an insult after what we had to see and then clean. Did not even get to unpack our first day there until after 8pm no time to get groceries at that time after getting settled in room had to do that our first day that should have been spent on beach. Owners need to look into rental agency and cleaners used.

Theyre very responsive to phone calls and emails and truly make us feel like our business is appreciated and valued. The property we rented in Palmetto Dunes was beautiful. It was spacious, comfortable and inviting. The amenities were exceptional. We enjoyed our stay and loved the accomodations.

We stayed a week at 83 Mooring Buoy. Upon arrival at 4 pm our house was not cleaned and we had to wait outside until 7 pm for the home to be ready for us. We have never had this issue and have been coming to HHI since 1989. It was very disappointing to say the least!!The home is spacious, beds were pretty comfortable, and living room was bright and airy. The kitchen is small, the cabinets and counters were very outdated and worn. We also had air conditioning issues several times during our week there.The first time one of the units quit, the service tech came right away. The second time was close to bedtime, we were tired and waited until morning to call IG as we were checking out. The pool was dirty upon arrival and wasn’t cleaned while we were there which was disappointing. The pool area furniture needed cleaning too. The deck overlooking the pool was our favorite hang out and the grill was nice as well.Overall we had a fun vacation and will return soon. Would I stay in this house again? Probably not.

I have been vacationing in Hilton Head at properties though Island Getaway for the past 20 years. I rarely write reviews but when the customer service experience is so amazing, I felt compelled. Emily Brown is on the staff of Island Getaway. Emily personally helped me with a specific issue with my most recent rental property as well as taking care of returning a personal item which was left at the property. Emily was attentive, highly interactive, and exceptionally professional! When you experience customer service such as this, it needs to be recognized! I hope the Island Getaway team realizes what a talent they have with Emily!

Island Getaway Rentals is a great rental company!! I have worked with them for three years and everyone there has been very accommodating. In particular, Emily has made my rental experience a very positive one. When I needed to change the dates of my rental she went the extra mile by making it easy to do and answering all my questions. We stayed at 189 mooring bouy dates June 12-19 2021. We had major issues with this home. The home had a weird “smell” when we walked in, and the kitchen wAs a mess not cleaned (crumbs on the counter and a film on them). The biggest issue we had is the maintenance of the home and false advertisement by island getaway. The home was advertised with a jacuzzi and as shown in the pics of the home we were led to believe that it would be in working order. When we got to the house the jacuzzi was ice cold and my brother in law discovered that the jets were capped off and there was no way for the jacuzzi to work at all. When I called island getaway I spoke with robin and she WAS well aware of it not being operational. I told her that the description on the website doesn’t state that, and I was told that they removed it from all of the places besides that area on their website. I told her that if that was stated in the description we would have never booked the home to stay in. The pool is leaking bc every morning and afternoon we had to fill the pool. Even after we would fill the pool before we went to bed it was lower in the morning. The sidewalk around the pool was uneven and a big safety hazard. The gutters were overgrown with leaves and debris. The home needs a lot of maintenance and island getaway needs to step up on the maintenance.

I have been renting through Island Getaway for 21 years sometimes two or three times a year. I have always had excellent experience with them. Never have I ever had a problem with them or the properties that I rent. I always stay Oceanfront in Palmetto Dunes. They have wonderful properties to accommodate small or large families. I always use, Jen, Jennifer McNutt at Island Getaway. She is awesome to work with. Prompt responses for any questions. I wouldnt rent from any other company.

In 2020, my family rented two houses from Island Getaway Hilton Head (one in June and one in December). Island Getaway was fantastic to work with both times. Amanda from Island Getaway went above and behind to help us for our December trip which I greatly appreciated. Both houses we rented in Palmetto Dunes were wonderful and perfect for my family of 4 and my brother’s family of 4 (total of 8 of us) plus our poodle.Island Getaway staff was also very responsive to all my questions. During our December trip, the dryer was not working at the house. I called Island Getaway at 10am and they had a repair person at the house by 2pm to address the issue.Once you booked, they provided you with the Hospitality App that provides you will all the info for your rental such as the door lock code, WiFi Password, Check In and Check Out Processes. The app made it so easy to find any info you needed at any time during your trip.I definitely recommend using Island Getaway to book your future vacation rental.

Its as simple as this: if you plan to book a house or villa or condominium for your vacation on Hilton Head Island, you should use Island Getaway Rentals. For one thing, its a local company on the island. They know the island inside and out; this is MUCH BETTER than using a company that is not based on the island, as I bitterly learned in a 2017 booking experience on Hilton Head with another company. Ive found that the staff members at Island Getaways are knowledgeable, helpful, informative, and very friendly and personable.Beyond that, when I had a serious issue with that other rental company on the island (which turned out to be based in Florida), I went to the Hilton Head Chamber of Commerce office for advice. The Chamber of Commerce representative *recommended* Island Getaway as a reputable and reliable company. That did it for me, and she was right -- Island Getaway has been top notch in every way in which we have dealt with them.I particularly like their thorough communications in the booking process, and their quick reply to emails and inquiries, usually within a couple of hours or the same day.And once booked, they provide you with a Hospitality smartphone app that guides you through every step of the process from check-in to check-out, gives recommendations for numerous things to do and places to eat, and even offers discounts at some area businesses via the app (e.g., we got 10% off on our meal at Marleys Island Grille just by showing the server our Island Getaways Hospitality app).We have booked through Island Getaway five times at three different locations: a villa for two just 150 yards from the beach, a 4-bedroom ranch-style house, and a family vacation for a party of 10 in a big house that sleeps up to 16. All are excellent properties that are clean, well maintained, and memorable. So in my opinion, Island Getaway has the right accommodations for you whether you are single, a couple, a large family, or even a business trip (such as a retreat) for a company or office with a number of employees.Im attaching a couple of photos taken at two of the locations weve rented via Island Getaway. We will always use Island Getaway to book our accommodations whenever we return to Hilton Head Island.

We rented from this company last year and after our vacation in June 2019, we immediately rented the house again for June 2020. Well within 2 days of our vacation, they called to tell us that our house was unavailable and they moved us to another house. Come to find out the owner of the house we had rented had pulled it from their inventory in January and no one ever told us until 2 days before we left.They were pleasant enough to speak to but they were untruthful when it came to what had happened and we basically had to beg for a partial refund. The comparable house was nowhere near the beach, or my sisters house who we purposefully rented the house to be next to. What was very upsetting about this whole situation is that no one ever really apologized after the trip when I had emailed them and they were never truthful from the beginning about what had happened and the comparable house was no where near comparable with what we were supposed to get. And no one really seemed to care or even try to reach out to the owner to discuss the situation or the mix-up. We met the owner and he said, had he been informed, he would have gladly let us stay and he would have moved to a hotel for the week to take the rental income. So irritating that they put their own interests above their customers because if they had just owned up to the mistake, there was a chance we could have still stayed there.I would never rent from them again based on how they handled this.

Professional company with well-trained friendly staff. Ive had contact with them a number of times since I need to call them to arrange for a parking pass to be sent to security for our friends visiting a couple times a week from another location outside of Palmetto Dunes. Ive always been greeted by a cheerful voice seemingly delighted to fulfill my request - unlike the security company they send the pass to!We also had a problem with the garbage disposal. They suggested pushing the reset button. When that didnt help, they said theyd have someone over that day. Two gentlemen arrived later in the day, and not only were they able to fix it (a fork had been dropped into it), but they also were very personable.One final story. After wed been at the condo for a couple of weeks, we headed to the beach for our walk to find that the gate to the beach was locked. We didnt know the code. After asking a few people, we finally found a couple who could help. I emailed Island Getaway to suggest that it would be helpful to include this in the App they provide for their guests. And, before the ink was dry on the email, it had been added. Well done!So nice to find a company trained to accommodate the needs of their clientele.Keep up the good work!

We have spent a week at the ocean every week. We have never used this company. It seemed simple and online. Everything was normal. Upon move in one of the AC was out. It took 3 days to have someone come with keys to the breaker to fix it. Meanwhile we endured 80 degrees at night. On the second day I noticed sinks began to back up two days after notifying the first plumber showed up. He did nothing.The day before we left another plumber came. He seemed to fix it but it still continued to back up... drain slow.We made the best of it. However the day after checkout an unauthorized 1500.00 came out of my bank account that I booked with. When I called, they said the OWNER had videotape of violations while we were there.First of all. Videotaped? Without knowledge? Secondly we suffered during this rental for failing plumbing and ac? DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY! Very shady!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We were just blown away by the responsiveness, professionalism of Amanda at Island Getaways. I would send an email late in the evening and have a response before 9 AM. She would also respond to additional questions throughout the day. This is not the type of customer service we had received from other companies. She helped us out in so many ways - gate pass, cleaning schedule and so much more. Just sayin’ - use them. We will use them from now on and recommend Island Getaway to family and friends visiting Hilton Head. 🌴🌴

My family and I have rented from Island Getaway on numerous occasions; from a family reunion to celebrating high school and college graduations to renting a pet friendly property in a pinch. This is our first experience with Island Getaway Rentals in HHI and it has been a great experience. We worked with a very helpful and knowledgeable sales representative, Hannah. Weve rented properties through Island Getaway many times over the years. Weve been very pleased with the apartments/villas/homes weve stayed in. Anytime there has been an issue (always minor) it has been taken care of promptly. The booking process is straightforward and the rental contract is clear and fair. The staff has always been courteous and very responsive.To give one instance of Island Getaways above & beyond service: We were in HHI at the time of Hurricane Matthew and had to evacuate along with everyone else. Ultimately, it became clear that we could not return to the property during the rental period. We had assumed that was just our bad luck but, without being prompted, Island Getaway contacted us and reimbursed us a proportionate amount of the rental cost for the period we were unable to use the home. There was nothing in the contract that obliged them to do that. Island Getaway earned our loyalty.

So much so, we booked our rental next year thru her and Island Getaway. The company Island Getaway is also top-notch. Any issues we had, were handled the same day. Excellent service! We booked a home online and the sink and washer backed up as well as the toilets! It took 3 days for them to get a plumber out who could not fix it! The plumber said it was roots in the lines. They fired the previous maintenance and he said this was his first visit.Instead of being friendly when I asked if they were going to compensate us, they started making false accusations. When we arrived home we found they deducted over 2000 from our card saying the cleaning lady had to spend 8 hours there??? I want her pay. As well as saying we ran over an ungrounds light and the owner had videotaped us doing it without our knowledge while we were there! Which is a felony.Stay AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Everyone likes to go on vacation but the planning a vacation can be such a head ache--- Well not with Island Getaway-- They were so helpful and gave us so many beautiful options for a rental property, and guided us though the whole process. Whether you want a small condo or a mansion on the beach, Island Getaway truly has it all. I can honestly recommend IG for you next vacation.

The elevator was out on Saturday, forcing everyone to lug their coolers and belongs up several flights of stairs, and making everyone grumpy. Our jetted tub is not working despite having called twice and having been assured that they would repair it today. If you’re looking for a recommendation for Island Getaway Rentals, look elsewhere.

We have used Island Getaway to manage our Hilton Head condo since we purchased it five years ago. Island Getaways made our vacation a true pleasure. Our arrival was easy and entry into the rental house was without a hitch. The rental house was perfect for our family of seven and served as a beautiful setting to celebrate a 50 wedding anniversay with those we love.

34 haul away Hilton Head sc is by far the worst property we have rented in a vacation home. The water backed up in the sinks and washer. The ac did not work. 4 repair maintenance drivers came right the house, but we were accused of running over a light steamed in the ground. The owner has footage from cameras we did not know about seeing a white suv like running over it. Well guess what the maintenance guys all had white trucks. And why am I being videotaped without my permission?Also an additional 1500 was taken without my permission out of my account. Please stayAWAY FROM THIS HOUSE AND KREEPY OWNERS!

We used Island Getaway Rentals for our out of town guests that came for our wedding.The home/condos were beautiful, clean, and reasonable. Our guests were really impressed! The service was great from check-in to check out and the staff was great to work with. I would definitely recommend Island Getaway Rentals to anyone visiting Hilton Head Island. If you are looking for pristine accommodations and excellent service, you will not be disappointed!

Staying at 11 Moorings for quite a few years. Island Getaway has been wonderful to work with. They have been very helpful every time I come to Hilton Head. This year I worked with Emily, who went out of her way to help me.The condo is a great place to stay. Palmetto Dunes is a good mid-island location with lots of amenities. This particular condo is close to beach access at the Dunes House which has a beachside bar and grille. The condo is nicely decorated. It has had some nice upgrades in the last few years. It is very reasonably priced compared to other near ocean condos. The pool in the complex is great for those who prefer not to be at the beach.

Rented here in September 2017. It was absolutely best vacation of my life. The rental properties are a little pricey but worth every penny. We had a couple of issues when we got there but island getaway took care of everything. If you are going to Hilton Head Island call Island getaways.

If you enjoy being videotaped without knowing by the rental company and the owners. Then 34 haul away Hilton Head sc is going to be your favorite house on Hilton Head.

We stayed in 7122 Harbourside 1 last week and the unit location could not be any better. Great view and central to everything. The unit itself, like most vacation rentals, could use some minor attention. There was an issue with a leaky faucet when we arrived and the Island Getaways staff was right on it. Someone responded to their after hours number right away and they sent a plumber as soon as possible. The communication through the reservation process was top notch and all the arrival information was clear and organized. We enjoyed Hilton Head and will definitely use Island Getaways on our return.

We stayed at a great villa in Sea Pines during the Heritage and will come back every year! So much fun and so perfect. Had everything all set up for us! Thank you Island Getaway Rentals.

Island Getaway has been wonderful to work with in booking multiple properties for a tennis tournament. Amanda offered her insight into different properties which helped in narrowing down our choices. We have vacationed with Island Getaways at the same house 10 Junket in Palmetto Dunes for the past five years. The staff has always been very accommodating and responsive every year. As with any rental property, due to wear and tear, appliances and such will sometimes break or fail. What we love about Island Getaways is that they would always have someone come to either fix or repair the problem. Whenever we had to call the office, they were always attentive to our concern and never made us feel as if we were the problem. This year upon departure, I accidentally left some valuables in one of the bathrooms and it wasn’t until I was at home that I found out. This is every renter’s nightmare. With all the personnel involved for the clean-up and preparation of the next rental (cleaning crew, linen crew, maintenance etc) I was worried that I would not be able to reclaim my items, which would have been a terrible loss. Thankfully with the help of Emily Brown Island Getaways and the wonderful cleaning staff, they located my belongings and shipped them back to me immediately. I am truly grateful for their honesty and integrity and that alone is enough to refer them to anyone.

Have been vacationing in Hilton Head for over 20 years with family. We have used multiple companies and stayed in various places. Island Getaway was the first company to truly misrepresent and disappoint. Our vacation home was absolutely filthy. Generally, we expect a few dead bugs...but this was just a very poorly maintained home. Bathrooms didnt drain. Visible staining and dirt on all walls. Mold growing in my bathroom. The bed linens were clearly still wrinkled from the previous guests. Zero safety for children, considering there was a room upstairs with twin bunk beds. Were talking no railing for steep stairs, a front door that cannot be locked from the inside (easy for a toddler to twist open and they did repeatedly), loose screening on the back patio, and in the bedroom with bunk beds just chords to electronic devices absolutely everywhere (a television placed on a dresser NOT for weight baring). We paid an extra $100 a day to heat the pool/spa. We had to take time out of our vacation to call at least 4 times, over multiple days, because of course that didnt work. Even the pool techs on the last day asked ME who rented this property- because it was in one of the poorer shapes he has seen!I meant to write this review while on vacation, but now is the perfect opportunity. Not only did they fail to credit us the amounts back for the hot tub/pool not working, but they went ahead and charged us an additional WEEK (note: thousands of dollars) on the credit card because they claim damage from smoking. Guess what? No one smoked in the home. And who has heard of a $2400+ smoking damage fee?I hope you dont find out the hard way as we have!Easy choice, we wont be using Island Getaways ever again. They really misrepresented the property and quality of their rental. And instead of refunding an amount which is fairly due, they are attempting to charge us for an extra weeks worth of rent. No doubt to help actually clean the pool, snake the drains, address the mold, clean the carpets and sheets, get the building up to safety code...All the things that should have been in place before we rented!

Island Getaway was easy to work with and excellent service. we originally made contact with an owner through vrbo, who then transferred us to Island Getaway. Thank goodness!!! We had trouble with our original unit and subsequent building, none of which was their fault. They were courteous, always returned calls and tried to give the best customer service with issues out of their control. Thank you to Emily, Amanda, Lindsay and the others who helped us!

First of all this was my 23 year at HHI and it was another great family trip. We rented our condo through Island Get Away which there representative Amity was more then gracious to handle all our needs in a timely manner. Hampton Place was beautiful and being an ocean front condo a spectacular view. Thank you Amity Perry and Island Getaway - talk next year! :)

After paying $4800.00 for a week at 189 Mooring Buoy we arrived to find a house with unwashed sheets - one bed appeared to have a large urine stain on the sheets. We also found enough trash under the beds to fill a small trash bag. One bedroom had a pair of very worn men’s shoes under the bed - not the kind of shoes a renter would have worn. The floors were dirty along with fixtures with soap scum buildups. It was obvious the house had not been cleaned in a while. The beds were simply made up without changing the sheets. The upholstered furniture is stained and grimy with dirt.After this rental we will no longer rent from or recommend Island Getaway to anyone.

We use Island Getaway as property manager for our townhome in Palmetto Dunes and had a terrible experience. They would continuously charge us for “maintenance” items that were never fixed. The final straw was when on two separate occasions renters were locked out of the unit due do a faulty lock installed and required by IG. In one instance a family was locked out from 10pm till past midnight. Well not only were those renters never coming back but IG charged us $130 for a maintenance issue ON THEIR OWN LOCK! These people are crooks and not nice to deal with.

This review is unfavorable, for several reasons, three of them being the state we found the house when we arrivedTo start, we arrived on Saturday to find that the garbage disposal was broken, a fact we uncovered due to the pungent odor in the kitchen...not necessarily a big deal except the cleaning crew was leaving when we arrived and had to have smelled it AND, there was a bowl underneath of it full of sludge water, so this had obviously been happening for quite some time. I will say that when contacted, Island Getaway sent someone right away and within two hours of our arrival, it was replaced.Secondly, the pool was filthy. Again, Island Getaway was fantastic and sent someone right away. However, the lady that was accompanying the guy cleaning the pool was extremely rude and made fun of my wife for suggesting it was dirty. They claimed that they clean the pools on Thursday, but based on what it looked like on Saturday, there is no way they could have cleaned it 2 days prior. In fact, the entire week we were there with 8 people swimming in it, it never got as dirty as it was when we arrived.Thirdly, the trash was overflowing and all over the ground under the carport. How is this not part of the cleaning when guests check out?The last thing, and the reason we will likely not come back, is that we had several items stolen from the carport (two lawn chairs, a cooler, a raft and some luggage tie downs). We noticed these items missing on the last day of our trip, and as we were leaving, the cleaning crew was showing up and they informed us that just a few weeks ago, someone had broken into this house and stolen a flat screen tv. Before leaving Shipyard we stopped and talked to the guard shack about what had happened and they didnt have much to say (not the best security).All of the above is a shame because the house itself was large and beautiful, close to the beach and access points to all the restaurants. But due to the way we found the house and the obvious security concerns, we will not be back nor would we recommend this place to anyone else.The property was 79 Kingston Dunes Rd and our stay occurred July 2016.

Stayed in Hilton Head many times and booked with Island Getaway more than once, but this time Amity Perry @ Island Getaways was superb in handling our special needs with speed and grace.She was able to cut thru the sometimes very slow owner response time to help insure a wonderful stay for us upcoming.

I had an odd experience. I called this place and gave them a list of nine different places I had found on their websites, all of which were listed as available for the time I wanted. The lady at the desk, however, told me that they were all rented, and she offered no alternatives. It seemed that she was discouraging me from using their services. I went elsewhere and easily found another place. Strange.

Island Getaway is a great company to work with. The staff is very friendly and responsive with questions I had before and during my stay on Hilton Head. I will be using using this company in the future and recommend it to everyone.

Really HOPELESS!I wanted to book a property that I was interested in. Asked them to phone me or email me - Im in the UK but was away from home and thought that they would do so if In used their contact us form.Came home today and phoned them using my landline. They had NOT attempted to phone or email me even though I gave them all my details - only to find they have booked the property to someone else.Hopeless and unprofessional. Wont ever use again although I have used before and thought they might value repeat business.

I have been dumbfoounded by Island Getaways service since I booked my vacation. They were very friendly and helpful prior to my booking a vacation property with them but since then if I have a question about the property they say they dont know, dont expect it to be there, and there is no way we can find out if it is there or not. There is little communication within the office depending on who answers your call and some of them are fairly rude.

We had a disappointing experience with booking. Due to a family matter that came up, we had to cancel a booking within the 24-hour grace period they give you to do that. The lady verified that our booking was canceled, and said the card hadnt been charged. I asked for an email verifying the cancellation, and this seemed to be a burden for her, but she begrudgingly took down my email. I never got an email, nor did I ever get an email saying the booking was made to begin with. One month later, our card was charged, and it was very difficult working with them to get the charge reversed. Anyone interested in staying in one of their rentals should insist, and be very persistent, on obtaining a paper trail of bookings, and cancellations.

Posting here due to Island Getaways removing my review to their site. Our family of 6 stayed at 50 Hickory Cove in Palmetto Dunes on HHI the last week of June 2017. This is our 5th year at HHI, 2nd year at Palmetto Dunes, first and last experience with Island Getaways. Our room cleaning was just getting started at 4 so we could not check-in on time, which is warned in advance. Around 5:30 we were able to access our room. Initial impression was disappointing. The paint was peeling before you even entered the unit. The entryway rug appeared to have a corner chewed off by a dog. The master bedroom (which is straight in front of the entryway) had large dark carpet stains. The kitchen and baths were outdated. The extra bath downstairs was convenient except the light fixture was rusted and falling out of the ceiling, and the light didnt work which made for dark showers. The sliding door for that bath was also in need of repair. The kitchen table had 2 chairs with broken arm rests which left exposed nails that I had to keep my 3 year old away from. The laundry room had an exterior access door with about an inch clearance to outside which allowed bugs in. The kitchen door was inaccessible due to the refrigerator sticking out too far. The couch cushion had stains that appeared to be blood. We also later discovered apparent blood stains on the mattress cover of the master bed when the sheet slipped off the corner. Black grease handprints were on the wall going upstairs. The patio furniture and grill handle appeared to have been chewed by a dog. On check-in day we completed a maintenance request and when asked if we wanted the issues addressed during our stay, we requested that at least they fix the chairs with nails exposed, change the bathroom lightbulb, and clean the couch cushion. It was suggested that they consider shampooing carpets and address the other issues before the next guests arrival. We never got any response and no issues were addressed during our stay. In addition to the unit, the Hickory Cove pool was poorly maintained. The sunbathing deck was small with narrow paths around the edge. Due to the trees, it needed a daily vacuuming and was in need of painting as well. My kids were also disappointed that the pool closed at sunset, so no after-dinner swims like last year. My initial review to Island Getaways was 2 stars but after they removed my post I certainly feel they are a 1 star company. The owner should be aware of how this company is handling their unit and customer concerns. Having stayed in a different Palmetto Dunes unit last year, smaller but cheaper, and much nicer pool, 50 Hickory Cove and Island Getaways do not meet the Palmetto Dunes standard. The only positives were that the pool was directly behind the unit and the beach was only a 7 minute walk.

Amity, along with their other conscientious employees constantly keep us in informed and the villa running smoothly.Our villa is consistently booked throughout the year and the majority of our guest’s contact us directly via our VRBO site. We pass along their information to Island Getaway’s staff who then directly contact the guest completing the reservation. We often receive compliments on the wonderful service, quick response time, and how each employee makes an extra effort welcoming guests to Hilton Head.During a guest’s vacation, we also check in with them. It’s always gratifying to hear not only the villa is in excellent condition but Island Getaway’s staff has been amazing along the way.I can’t say enough about every employee who has graciously helped us. Each one has been a pleasure to work with and continues to exceed our expectations. A heartfelt thanks to Emily, Andrea, Robin, Hannah, Stephanie, Jen, Katie and Amanda in addition to so many others in their office.We’ve found Island Getaway to be a top notch rental company in Hilton Head. Ive been very pleased with the service Ive received from everyone at Island Getaway. My extended family and I have rented vacation homes from IG for the past six years. Were experienced no reservation or onsite problems. I like that IG is a family-owned company based in Hilton Head. The properties are top-notch. I dont think you can find a better selection of Hilton Head rental options anywhere else. IG seems to identify and retain the finest homes in the area. It pays to be choosy. Put your hard-earned money here. Enjoy your downtime.

We use this company whenever we go to HHI. Our last rental was not quite up to par, but they made sure we were taken care of.

Booked a home in February, signed a contract, received door code and welcome letter but noticed recently that my credit card was never charged for the deposit. I finally got a hold of someone and they never booked our reservation even with a signed contract. So now we are out of a vacation home. They never offered a discount or any way to right the matter.
