Went on a 5 hour trip with captain Drew on a very nice day. Drew was great. Giving all of us great tips and advice on how to handle his equipment and be successful at landing fish. We caught one ~25 lb king mackerel, and then we went closer to shore to do some shark fishing to end our day. We ended up hooking what we estimated to be around a 10’ and 300lb lemon shark!! Drew carefully maneuvered the boat and helped us fight the shark for nearly 2.5 hours - which took us about an hour past our 5 hour trip time. He never complained once. He was very pleasant and was very excited to see the shark. Would go back out with Tail Tamer again with no hesitation. Must do trip!

What a day! We had a blast chasing our King Mackerel while watching other boats in the area struggle. Then came the variety fishing which was next level. Overall couldnt have asked for a better day! We highly recommend Tail Tamer Charters!!

My 3 boys and I had a blast out on the water yesterday morning with Capt. Terry!We all caught a couple of sharks while my oldest pulled in one that was nearly 5 feet. I caught a great Bull Red that I still cant stop smiling about.Cannot recommend Tail Tamers enough when it comes to a custom charter for kids at any skill level!

Highly recommended. Terry was a wonderful captain who made sure we had a good time and was great with conversation. We caught everything we wanted to including lots of sharks! We took home a king mackerel and Terry called local restaurants to make sure we could get it cooked somewhere. We will most definitely be charting with him again in the future.

Such an incredible time! My husband and I were really looking forward to catching some big fish and the shark outing was amazing. We thought we might have caught maybe one or 2 during the 3 hour window but we actually reeled in 6 total! It was not just an incredible work out, but it was an experience we will always remember. My daughter Ashely took me and my grandkids Eilem, Eden and Brayden on a Fathers day deep sea fishing trip with Captain Terry. It was awesome Captain Terry asked us what we wanted to catch and we all said a SHARK and sure enough the first catch was a hammerhead shark caught by my grandson Eilem. This was their fist deep sea fishing trip for the Grandkids and it did not disappoint we caught many other sharks that day as well, it will be memories we can cherish for many years to come. Captain Terry was great with the kids and easy going and lots of fun. Anyone that wants to go on a deep sea fishing trip I would highly recommend Captain Terry of Tail Tamer you will be very satisfied he makes sure that you have a great time.

Went out with Capt. Drew a couple weeks ago and he was very nice and accommodating. The bite wasnt strong that day, but still managed to catch a shark that my son got to reel in. The reason Im writing this review is Capt. Terry went above and beyond and returned my hat and sunscreen that I forgot at the boat dock. He could have easily dismissed this, being the trip was over and we were gone. He is a stand-up guy.

It was our first time and we had an awesome Shark fishing experience with Cpt. Doug. We will definitely book with Tail Tamers again for a longer charter.

Tail Tamers was by far the best fishing experience Ive ever had. I fish on West coast of FL every year, and have yet had such an enjoyable, educational, and respectful fishing trip. In addition, Cpt Terry Hall is by far the most knowledgeable guide I have ever been so fortunate to meet and learn from. A great experience with Captain Terry of Tail Tamers. Online booking was easy. If you go park in the lot behind the boat storage warehouse and follow the long dock down where the boats are. He had a Tail Tamers sign by the boat but I don’t recall seeing one before we got to the dock. It was our second time our in as many years. This time we took the boys out for a 4 hour fishing trip. We hunted for mackerel then shark. The first time in 2019 we took the girls out for a 3 hour fishing trip and caught small shark and sting ray. If you’ve never been fishing or don’t have a lot of experience that’s ok. The captain took care of all the bait, setting the lines, and coaching you through the catch. All of our catches were catch and release but if they’re large enough you can keep them. Next time down we’ll try the all day trip and go for the really big stuff! Make sure you tip your boat captain they work hard to make it a nice experience. Thanks again for a nice trip Captain Terry.

My girlfriend and I book our first charter through Capt. Terry and it was a great trip. We ran into a storm issue and Capt. Terry showed his professionalism and experience by navigating away from the storm so we only got a little wet and were still able to fish. He also put us in a spot where we landed a couple of sharks and I had the opportunity to hook a big one. He knew all the right bait to use and coached me through reeling it in. Terry was fun to be around, I highly recommend him.

Can not say enough about how awesome this fishing trip was. We did a three hour charter for our three boys. It was absolutely fantastic. Captain Drew was funny and patient with the kids. Captain Terry went above and beyond to find us our King Mackerel. He knows the waters, fish and is great to hang with. Once we got our dinner, we went sport fishing for shark and all reeled in a 60” 60lb+ Black tip shark that was an amazing fight. He really adapts the trip to what you want and even shows flexibility around weather and tide predictions. Leave it Captain Terry to create the fishing day your looking for!!

Great outing with Captain Terry. Had a great day and each of us (6) each had at least three sharks brought on board and many more strikes. Highlight was the 25 pound Mackerel. If you bring Banana Boat sunscreen, be prepared! All fun. Would definitely use again.

This was my first time on Hilton Head Island, and my first time on the ocean in a boat! Captain Terry was super cool and made us feel at home! He knew where to find the dolphins, and made sure we all had a good time! Would give him 10 stars if I could!

We had a fantastic time out with Captain Terry on July 13th. We caught Spanish and King Mackerel and are excited to be going back home to Texas with the fresh fish filets! We also reeled in 3 black tip reef sharks and 1 shiner shark- one of the black tip reef sharks was 57” from nose to tip of the tail fin. It was fun wrestling it in! What a blast we had out on the water!! Captain Terry is very patient and with this an awesome fishing guide, coach, and captain- he is great with kids, teenagers, and adults alike! Excellent time on the water. Had 2 young children with us on the trip and the Captain helped to make it a trip they will remember, teaching them fun facts along the way and giving them cool opportunities to interact with and learn about sea life. The fact that the fishing was good and he got us dialed in on the biggest catch of my life was an added bonus. 100% recommend.

Had a great time on the Tail Tamer! My son wanted to catch shark on our recent visit to HH island and after looking at multiple charters, I chose the Tail Tamer due to its excellent reviews. Capt. Terry was fantastic! He was extremely patient with my 11 year old son and taught him a great deal about sharks and how to catch them. Although it was a tad early and water a little cold, he got us on the fish! My son was ecstatic reeling in his 2 sharks. Will visit the Tail Tamer again for sure!

We went out with Captain Terry during our Honeymoon and it was my first ever fishing charter. It was a blast!!! We caught many different size sharks with the largest being around 5 foot, and a Spanish mackerel that we got to take home and eat that afternoon. Captain Terry was awesome! I went out with Capt. Terry September 5, 2020 and I’m just getting a chance to leave a review. I rarely take the time to leave reviews but this is one that I had to make because we had such a great experience. I’ve been on numerous fishing charters all over the place but Cpt. Terry is by far the best I have came across. It’s clear that his top priority is to make sure you have great trip. He was very knowledgeable about what fish were in and where to find them. I particularly liked that he was very receptive to what we wanted to catch and tried his best to accomplish that, even though it made his job harder. I have never experienced this with another fishing guide. I wanted to catch a big shark and King Mackerel. We caught a bunch of smaller sharks but he kept at it until we caught one about 6ft and he did the same with the King Mackerel, he even stayed out late to make sure everyone had a chance to catch one (some of us caught several). I will definitely be trying to fish with Capt. Terry every time I go back to Hilton Head and I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to catch fish!

Capt. Terry was great. It was quite windy out so the fish werent biting but he moved us around until we found the sharks.

Too bad six stars doesnt exist, because thats exactly what Tail Tamer Fishing Charters deserves. It was an amazing experience for our family of three! In a five hour fishing/dolphin combo, we got to see dolphins and one even followed the boat for a while! We caught a six-foot lemon shark and a four-foot blacktip shark. Those sharks were too big for our kid, so Captain Terry kept reeling out for a smaller shark. When we thought that we werent going to catch a small one, we were able to catch a two-foot atlantic sharpnose just perfect to finish off the AMAZING trip. If you are a on Hilton Head Island looking for either a family adventure or a hard-core fishing bout, Tail Tamers is a MUST do.

Excellent day of fishing with Tail Tamers! Took two trips with Terry last week, while in Hilton Head last week. Fist trip was a 2 hour sunset dolphin watching / shark fishing trip in the bay with my daughters. Lots of dolphins that came right up to the boat, and caught a few sharks, as well. The next day, I did a 5+ hour trip offshore with Terry, and he put us right on the fish. Lots of action, and we landed several Spanish mackerel, lady fish, bluefish and a bunch of sharks. We caught fish when other boats around us were either skunked or took off to other locations. Terry was awesome -- very knowledgeable, personable and a great storyteller. Couldnt have asked for a better day! Best of all, Terry cleaned the fish, and we cooked them that evening for a delicious dinner. Id highly recommend Terry and Tail Tamers to anyone whos looking for a fun (and productive) day fishing while in Hilton Head. I will definitely fish with him again the next time Im in the area.

Amazing experience! The captain was very knowledgeable and we caught lots of fish, saw dolphins which swam next to our boat and a beautiful sunset with a rainbow! Tail tamers know all the good spots! Go on the 5pm -8pm slot it’s amazing what you will see!

The team and I did had a four hour charter with Tail Tamer Fishing Charters and had an absolute blast catching fish. He took us out the day after thanksgiving. It was a last minute trip we booked. He was very sweet and accommodating towards us both. He didn’t wear a mask but I kinda expected that... given the circumstances. He tried his best to get us to catch something. We caught all the wrong things haha. But had so much fun! (sheepshead and stingray & white fish) Thanks for going above and beyond for us and staying out at Least an hour past to try and get us to catch something. He even offered us a half off discount because it was pouring rain half way thru... but we chose to stick it out and I’m glad we did for the memories 🥰

Great experience shark fishing when the King Mackerel bite wasnt happening. The 140 lb 74 inch black tip shark gave everyone a turn and we all got a to feel the raw power of a beautiful fish that made many runs. We had 3 other large fish on.

Best fishing charter on Hilton Head. We have booked with CPT Terry for 4 years. He is awesome with the kids and we have never been disappointed. Five star service every time.

We booked the 8 hour trip and got lucky with some storms that stayed away but not so lucky with the swells. Cpt. Terry took us back in to calmer waters and put us on some pretty nice sharks. He was very knowledgeable and had great conversations. Would highly recommend him for anyone looking to fish the area.

We did an excursion with Captain Terry today July 30, 2019 at 6:00 am. He was very knowledgeable on the local waters, friendly, safe and had a clean boat. What I enjoyed the most was that Terry was a patient teacher. We had a challenging day and had to work for every catch. We did an excursion with Captain Terry today and boy the shark were biting non stop for hours. Snagged up to 20 in all sizes including a Hammerhead. I am not a fisherman and do not like handling fish or bait and I still had a great time. I stepped out of my comfort zone and held my first Shark I reeled in. Definitely fun with a small group even for those just wanting to watch others catching fish.

What an incredible day with Captain Terry! Left during a beautiful sunrise, followed by a dolphin, a visit from a sea turtle, 10 sharks (black tip, fine tooth, bonnet) caught in the short time by the entire family...including a 5 footer, and capped off by a extended visit at the marina by Ollie, a dolphin that hangs around the marina. Amazing!

We (family of 4, 5yo and 7yo) just went on a 3hr fishing trip with Captain Terry! We had such a fantastic trip. We caught 5 sharks...yes SHARKS! My husband caught a decent 3 to 4 foot back tip! We saw so many dolphins too, especially at the end when we were getting off the boat. There was one dolphin that kept having fun with our kids!!!! You get to be out on the water for 3 hours, catch shark, see tons of dolphins, and all on your own private boat with the captain!!!! Doesnt get any better then That! We we will def do this again when we come back to Hilton Head, and only with Tail Tamer Fishing Charters!!!!!

Captain terry is a great guy real knowledgeable about the island and the fish. Caught my personal best Spanish mackerel with him on the trip. Bite was slow but hey that’s fishing. Had the chance on a big king but broke off unfortunately. All in all great guy great prices would definitely fish with him again. Thanks for the experience captain.

Over the past several years I have been on many different dolphin cruises with my three small children and this was by far the best! We were able to customize the length of the tour and the places we saw based on our kids interests and attention spans. (They even got to drive the boat!) No overexaggeration when I say we caught about a dozen sharks and probably 2 dozen small fish.
