Besides some of the humans that are strong enough to lift the weights but not strong enough to re-rack them, it’s a great gym!

Kinda tiny gym, overcrowded, men’s room FLOODED WITH URINE EVERY OTHER DAY! It’s ridiculous! I pay $40 a month to skip over puddles of urine everyday? The gym is better then planet fitness but, not the maintenance is horrible to be honest.

Migrated here from Planet Fitness when they opened after quarantine. Only a few dollars more a month for, in my opinion, a significantly better gym. My Gold level membership includes fitness classes which I think is great although I haven’t gotten around to trying one yet. Plenty of machines and weights. Clientele seems to be a great mix between beginners and advanced, young and old, men and women. The large, open room has been closed due to Covid but when it opens again and provides a space to warm up, stretch, jump rope, etc. I believe this gym has everything the average person needs for a great workout!

Best place to work out all around great staff

I was told a year ago that my membership would be $40 per person. And during quarantine I reviewed my account and noticed they were charging me $80/person. I was livid. Not only could no one help me in corporate or the front desk but, I was told I wasn’t the only one this salesman did this to.I would never pay $80/person for an unkept, understaffed facility. Save your time and money.

This is a quality gym, especially considering how accessable it is during covid. Be warned! The membership fees come out twice a month. They say$20 but it really means $40.

Average gym, was a member for about 9 months before I moved away for school. There is plenty of equipment to use and the gym is relatively clean, but there are many hidden fees attached to a membership, so beware.

Nice staff. Great facility. My only thing is that the weight machines are organized really weirdly. They seem to be scattered in no particular order. Not really detrimental. Just takes a little more looking around at first. The smoothie bar is awesome too. The girl that usually works there is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Some people are nice and its kept clean. Little small stuff that just needs improvement. Certain individuals are more worried about people instead of working out, for some odd reason? Never encountered such things like I have here.

I wish it was 24 hours, but with COVID, I’m glad it’s open. I love the huge selection of weight machines, you can’t beat the price, was cheaper than anytime fitness, I just need more variety in weight machines and Golds delivers.

I absolutely love this gym. They really take into account members feedback and Ive seen so many incredible changes there over the past few months. The new cycle studio is my favorite!! I cant wait until they get the black lights set up! Id recommend this gym to any of my family or friends without a second thought. Awesome gym.

This gym is amazing. Their VIP membership is such a good deal and Jeff is amazing. This gym has a good vibe and they will take care of you. Friendly staff, good facility, and open 24 hours through the week. I would definately recommend this spot if you are in or around Nashville.

Been going to this golds gym for several years now. Its an OK gym. All the equipment you need at a fair price. However, I do wish the gym was maintained better as far as cleanliness and completing repairs in a timely manner. Also wish they had a larger building and a sauna.My biggest complaint is that I cant figure out what the hours are....changed my gym routine and no-one seems to know the correct hours ...google has incorrect hours, the gyms website has incorrect hours, the hours are not posted at the gym, and I called on a Monday and the person working there wasnt sure what the hours are on the weekend.

Been coming here ever since LA Fitness closed down in Madison. Im not a fan of driving to Hendersonville so often but damn every other gym around here got lunk alarms. I love this gym though. I started doing yoga recently and that has become a huge plus for me

Great management and ownership. I’m active duty military and was in town visiting family for a couple of days, and called to ask about buying a day pass to exercise while on leave. Jeff told me thanks for my service and let me get a work out in for free while visiting. I tried to pay, but he wouldn’t let me. Very much appreciated!!!!!

A great place for fitness needs

Love this gym! Equipment is always clean. The staff is welcoming and friendly and my kids love coming to the childrens area.

They have an outstanding smoothie place on the inside I think her name was Brittany she made me a smoothie drink that was outstanding

Incredibly expensive for a 1 day pass, $15! The equipment is sufficient, and the gym is very large. Someone wanting to begin working out would probably be better off finding a smaller gym with adequate equipment.

You Can’t Cancel Your Membership!I’ve have now gone to the gym 5 times trying to cancel my membership. I prefer another gym due to better childcare, cleanliness and class availability. Every time I go in, they tell me to come in M-F between 9AM-6PM. So I go in during those times and they say the manager who handles membership is not there because they are the only one with some code. Then they say to call before coming back. I try to call and the line is ALWAYS busy. Now they want me to send them a notarized letter send via certified mail. This. Is. Ridiculous.

Beware of this gym! My son joined in June and after one month, between fees for using a debit card, setting up a debit card and enhancement fees, it ended up costing over $80 the first month.. on top of that when he went to quit his monthly membership, they charged him over $50. Kaitlyn, an assistant manager, was very rude to me on he phone and she said she could not give me info on how much it would cost for my son to quit this Golds gym.. even though I was paying for it. Bottom line .. its a SCAM and they take advantage of young adults. My son was rushed through signing all kinds of papers that he did not understand. It ended up costing a lot of money. There are better, honest gyms out there, people! Shop atound before you commit! Golds gym is a rip off!

Ive been going to this gym for 8 years and never been judged once! These people looking for judgement free zone like Planet Fitness need to realize that your not as important as you think you are!! NO ONE IS WATCHING OR PAYING ATTENTION TO YOU !!! As far as the bad customer service reviews I read are a joke!!! My God how much customer service do you need to walk in a gym and work out???? This is a great place to work out, but if you need the attention like a 3 year old Planet Fitness will probably be a better fit for you!!!!

I joined Golds gym in March. I joined custom built training program the next time I came to the gym and started training with Elena. She is the best trainer I have ever had. I moved from Atlanta and had a trainer there but Elena is great. If you want a great work out and nutrition advise she is who you should ask for.

The worst customer service Ive ever seen. I thought I had my account cancellation handled MONTHS ago and just got an email that my account wasnt able to be charged (because Ive recently gotten married and changed account info) and that I could be sent to collections?!? Prior to FINALLY getting my account cancelled and stop being charged, I had called and visited the gym numerous times. I continued to be charged. I emailed the gym finally with all of my complaints. No refund, no confirmation, but my account wasnt charged any more so I was just happy to be done with them. Now I get this, 7 months later. I regret ever signing a contract and would never do business with a Golds Gym again, but especially not this one.

This place is an absolute racket! Its like Hotel California. You can never leave. I have had SO MUCH trouble trying to cancel my membership. They can take new members on a Saturday and charge your bank on a Saturday, but they cant cancel memberships on a Saturday. How is that logical? I had to go in on a weekday between 9-5 to get them to stop autodrafting their fees out of my account. In order to cancel, I had to pay a cancellation fee. THEN they have the nerve to keep drafting out of my account after the cancellation was final and I had moved out of state. Can I get ahold of anyone on the phone about it? Nope. STAY AWAY.

Broken equipment, classes that are scheduled and no instructor showing up, and lack of staff to get help. Don’t waste your money!

The Gym and equipment is nice, however the room where they have group classes has loose hardwood floors that will likely brake someones ankle at some point.As for the person training its not good. Our first trainer could have cared less if he was there or not. He spent entire training sessions on his cell phone texting or talking to girls in the gym and not paying attention to my wife and I. We changed trainers. Andre was a great trainer however ended up canceling some of our sessions without notifying us. He then became unavailable completely and canceled all our sessions. Contacting the parent company to get support and another trainer was even worse. They did not return emails or phone calls and could not live up to their end of the contract. We ended up having to fight them through our credit card company in order to get any kind of response out of the company. DO NOT sign a contract with Custom Built Personal Training!!! You will likely be sorry if you do.

I work out here because it works for me! The machines are great! They always keep them in working condition and keep it them clean! Also cory is my trainer. He’s the best!

My daughter and I checked around and decided on this gym in particular because of the large size, the large # of machines and variety of equipment there is to use, the spray tan booth, tanning beds, locker room w showers, a smoothie bar, cycle room, child care room, personal trainers available, a variety of classes, and a cinema room (One of our favorites, because we can watch movies while we exercise.). We love the black light effect. It feels like were having a fun night out, and pumps us up. We also like the words of encouragement up on the walls, the TVs everywhere are set to several different stations, and the upbeat music videos that play. Honestly, for the low price, the amenities blow all other gyms away. The reason I dont give it a 5-star rating is because there are some areas of improvement. All of the classes finish for the day when the child care room closes, by 7:30 pm, which is ridiculous. That means the classes are only geared toward younger, child bearing, parents. I see many middle aged people there, as well as teens and singles, who would probably take the classes regularly if they ran a little later, like 8pm & 9pm classes. Wed go practically every night if that was offered! Its quite disappointing because the lack of (later) classes during the week, and lack of classes in general on the weekends, are almost what kept us from joining the gym! Weve adjusted our thinking, and now just go with the mindset to use just the machines. I do think the personal training is way overpriced, with an average of $35-45 per 30 min session, so unless you have the money to get a trainer several times per week, it hardly makes it worth while. I think the gym is lacking a retail clothing area, which could boost sales quite a bit. New members want Golds Gym apparel because theyre just getting into it, and existing members want to wear the apparel because theyre proud of that aspect of their lives. Plus, having people wearing the apparel out of the gym is free advertising. Doesnt make sense to me at all. It also is a little disappointing that not all of the staff knows where certain machines are located within the gym if you ask them, so theyll refer you to catch the trainers during the hours that they are there, nor do they seem fitness oriented, including going out for smoke breaks. I understand that theyre stuck at the desk most of the time, but theyre also sales staff, so itd be more effective for the business if they look/live as if they believe what theyre selling. I think management should allow them free use of the gym for working there and discounted Golds Gym clothing. They are very friendly and courteous, so even though my daughter and I are only a few months into this so far, they make it more comfortable. Id definitely recommend this gym, in fact already have, and am really loving the atmosphere more and more.

This was an ok place to be at the beginning of the year however has gotten much worse. I dont normally bother with these but Im tired of the horrid service. Phones are always left ringing, tanning beds have been broken for months, equipment is constantly breaking do to poor maintenance. Plus Im constantly worried about breaking my ankle because the weights are everywhere and the floors are uneven and cracked. I can tell the other lifters who frequent the gym are also tiring of the situation. Looking for another gym stat.

It was fine when we initially moved here, but poor management/uncaring owners have really let the place slide. With the amount of people who work out here, they could at least keep the equipment in good condition and clean. The place is cramped and the locker rooms leave everything to be desired. The hours keep changing and they are not conducive. The front desk staff is friendly enough.

Best gym Ive been a member of. Offer month to month no contract, or cheaper 1 year deals. Cant even compare to other gyms.

Nice place to workout

When I first joined golds, it had a great atmosphere for serious lifters because it was first started for serious lifters. However, recently it has turned into a majorly downgraded version of planet fitness with terrible management and ownership. Now if youre a bodybuilder, power lifter, or just into overall fitness and betterment for yourself dont waste your time and money at golds because what will most likely happen is youll piss someone off and get kicked out. Honestly, Arnold would be ashamed that his quotes are used at this golds.

One of the best Golds gyms Ive trained at. This is my home gym and its always awesome....staff are great, new machines....i travel alot and usually find gyms on the road but never like the Golds at home.

Gym is pretty good. There the only gym in the area I believe with a Kids Club. They open a Hot Yoga studio across the street too. Some of the staff that watch the kids love it and you can tell. Others... Seem like they have better things to do. The front desk staff are always nice and helpful and happy! If I didnt have kids and need the sitter, I mayyy be a gym member elsewhere? IDK.Would have gotten 5 (or even 4) if it werent for at least 4-5 pieces of equipment down at all times. Some of the handles on the Hammer machines are separating and leaking grease, or just starting to break down like on their cable machine.Ive been a VIP member for almost 3 years now, and I think the ladies paper towel dispenser has been broken just as long. (Insert laugh) Benches are super wonky in the ladies locker room as well.Nutrition Faktory has a desk inside for supplements on the go but, they have different hours so I would call the gym and ask.Overall not bad. Questionable if you dont need all the perks and amenities with the VIP membership. Might be perfect for single men and women looking for the Golds lineage. Located in the heart of Hendersonville.

Was 5 Stars until the doubled the price, then was 4 until they reverted from having a 24 hour schedule. The gym is crowded but If you avoid peak times youll be fine. Everyone Ive met is friendly and I know the names of all the staff members. Id recommend this gym to only people who plan on using a majority of the weight equipment. If youre just looking for cardio or a casual workout enviroment this gym isnt really for you. Most of golds members take working out as a serious hobby. Plus, you can find better value in other gyms if you are just looking to drop a few pounds.

They are in the process of renovating it seems with new paint and such. However it is very crowded...not just with people bit the machines are so close together it sometimes is awkward and uncomfortable. The desk staff had always been very pleasant. I would like to see this place get an expansion with some breathing room.

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. Such a money pit and the staff and management are so rude. Would not recommend to anyone and definitely will not be renewing my contract with them.

Very unprofessional. They just lost a potential new customer. How do you schedule someone who is interested in the facility, schedule an appointment and then be too busy to take me on a tour. I called back for an additional appointment and was placed on hold for 6 minutes. Me and my money will be going elsewhere.

I was first referred by a friend that goes to this place.When I told the manager his name she said he was an idiot.When I called Golds to ask about pricing a sales person called me 6 times in a day bugging me to stop by.I finally arrived there after running errands all day and the lady manager said she was going to be off in 4 minutes so she rushed me through a 4 minute tour and had me come back.I brought my wife the same lady manager was there and gave us a 5 minute tour this time.We looked around and sat down to discuss pricing.I wanted a regular membership she told us about hot yoga I told her that wasnt for me and she told me you look old and need hot yoga I was furious but my wife wanted to get a membership.I had a contract there for a year and paid every month and never worked out once in this place!! We moved I called them and told them I was calling to cancel our membership.They then told me I would have to submit a letter of cancellation.I took them a letter left my children in the front door and went in to give them the letter.They told me I could only cancel on certain days.They had me wait at the counter while other members stepped in front of me until they asked me to sit down.My children still outside waiting.After about 20 minutes the you look old lady manager came out and said I would have to come back.I was furious and told her to cancel my membership I would not be back. She then started yelling at me and followed me out the door screaming at meyou wont talk to me in front of members like that with my children hearing her yell at me.I left and she yelled out I am not cancelling your membership! THIS GYM IS HORRIBLE AND I WOULD NEVER GO THERE OR REFER ANYONE THERE. THEY WANT TO TRAP YOU IN A CONTRACT BECAUSE IT IS SO BAD!!!

I joined this gym, but was never even shown around the facility. I was, however, scheduled for 1 hour with a personal trainer, but that ended up being not much more than a sales pitch for a bodybuilding company. I will not be going back and I would not recommend this gym for those who are on the Silver Sneakers program.

For the monthly membership price, its definitely a good gym! It gets crowded between the hours of 5p-7p and its a little compacted but still a decent gym and location.This gym is for the competitors and non-competitors alike. No judgement here.... After 1 year of having membership with golds, I wasnt told Id have to pay to cancel although I kept my end of the contract. I wish I was given alittle more info.

If I could rate it as negative I would trust me!! This company lies in its advertisement No commitment, 10$ a month. My wife and I were members for 2 years and even paid a personal trainer for a year to help us get in shape, in that 2 years our kids got older and we tried the daycare services they had and our kids hated it, partially because the girls they had working in there had the personality of a snail, but anyways, so we decided that we would just start working out at home because that was the only option we had at the time. TIME TO CANCEL, well we thought, so we called and went in and cancelled our NO COMMITMENT, NO CONTRACT, contract. Two weeks later money is still being withdrawn from our bank account ( 22$ because we had the silver package with the childcare that we never could use) so I called up there and they informed me that we never cancelled. Of course I didnt have proof which I should have gotten so shame on me, I get that but its a learning lesson. The person at the desk said they would handle it, well guess what they never did so I changed my card number and told the bank it was fraud, WHICH IT WAS. A year later I get a letter in the mail from a collections company stating that I owe these JOKERS 245.00 for BREACH OF CONTRACT. Now, if we go back to the beginning here everyone in Hendersonville remembers the billboards that were up on Gallatin Rd. that stated No commitment, No contract, 10$ a month, I have blabbered enough I just wanted to rub this companies name in the mud as much as I could for a minute and let everyone that is thinking about joining to please go somewhere else. There facilities were nice and there is a lot of equipment but THEY ARE LIARS AND SUCK YOU IN TO SOMETHING THAT YOU DONT KNOW YOU ARE GETTING INTO. Thank you for reading!

Probably the worst Golds Ive been to; and I travel for work, so Ive been to many many Golds Gyms. I didnt know If I was supposed to start bowling or lifting because there are blacklights in the ceiling! Its dimly lit and very cramped. And they still dont have all the equipment you expect a Golds to have, like an incline bench or even an easy-bar rack.Gave it two stars cause its close & convenient to where Im staying.

I love being a member of this gym! I am a member of the Murfreesboro one but my parents live in Hendersonville so I visit this gym when Im in town and it is sooo nice! I love the child care and classes. The staff is wonderful and the only complaint I have is that I cant visit as much as I want to!

Horrible. Tell you one thing and then charge you another. If you are on a tight budget, DO NOT give them your bank account information. I thought they had overcome their previous BAD reputation for this type of all sales, no service behavior. NOT.

This gym needs a bigger building, rude employees. Considering the amount of people in the gym, youd think they have enough money to have a larger facility. The parking lot is jam packed. People park their cars lining the street into the parking lot making it difficult to get in and out with traffic coming at you. Just doing a drive by the front of the building, you can see all the cardio equipment full. I was pushed off the TRX by a personal trainer who walked up and said he was using that area for a training session. I was the only one using the equipment, but he insisted that I move. He had girls doing planks under the TRX equipment. Planks could be done anywhere, but there really isnt the floor space to do them anywhere due too all the equipment being squished into such a small space. Once he finished up, and I got back on the TRX, people using the equipment behind me were bumping into me. Its way too overcrowded. Too many people, not enough room to excercise. Maybe once the new years gym rush is dwindled down, Ill up my stars on this review, but right now this gym sucks.

Not a legitimate Golds Gym like in California. Hours of operation are not what they say they are and they follow more of a local private gym mentality. That goes for all of them in the Nashville Area.
