Charleston at the Meadows apartment complex is a safe place to live, close to downtown Hendersonville, NC, pet friendly, clean and well kept, and spacious apartments that range from 2-3 bedrooms. I have lived here for 2.5 years and have had no problems in working with the Management staff. Any apartment living you will experience neighbors that have annoying habits or lifestyles that dont meet up with yours but thats just how it goes unless you have your own home. Even then, neighbors might not get along. My neighbors had different shifts for work so you have to look past some things but if I spoke with my neighbor about my concern and they made adjustments. I think most people will try to be good neighbors, you just have to talk to each other.Management Staff or Landlord were understanding with any concerns I had with my apartment and worked with me if they could. During winter last Nov/Dec the water pipes froze and after calling at 7:30AM, Management came out to thaw the pipes for the water to move and I could finish getting ready for work. Not many places include the pest spray, replace A/C filters and maintain the fire extinguishers within the units. The grounds upkeep is excellent. This management continues to find ways to improve the living conditions by recently having a community dumpster area installed, removing the loose bins that used to be on the sidewalks. As each unit is vacated, they strive to make improvements and upgrades. I would not be leaving if I could afford to stay but on a single income, its difficult to justify the rent cost for just myself. Excellent conditions, Excellent Management, Excellent Location and a Safe Environment to live. I will miss living here!

Well-maintained and updated units. Nicely sized apartments with flowing floorplans. Community is clean; kids playing around buildings. Very pleasant.

You can hear everything going on in other units. Poorly built if you can hear clear noise from each unit. Very picky and is more strict than a college dorm. People get put out for stupid reasons and dont care about an explanation. Seems like they want an older community so if you dont want to be tied down to so many rules and not be treated like an adult then I would not stay. Worse experience getting my first apartments there.

Affordable accommodations, really nice appliances but poor sound insulation - you hear your neighbors and they hear you.

My apartment smelled like weed because one of my neighbors and I’d get woken up at 6AM to another neighbor starting their dryer before leaving for work some mornings. The rooms behind my bedrooms were the next apartment’s living room & kitchen / laundry area so it is true you can hear through walls. Also this was the first complex to ever not refund my whole deposit back. Just bad.

Sitting in the office (which is a unit) you could hear exactly what the neighbors next door were saying, the receptionist who was very short with us told us to come back when the property manager was there at 5. When we came back to speak with him he was acting almost forced to speak with us, wasnt friendly or enthusiastic to help AT ALL.

Borderline ghetto.
