I’ve taken my 15 yr old car for a variety of big repairs and routine maintenance to Gil’s Automotive for almost a decade of living in Henderson, NV. I found the shop by recommendation and so glad I did. I’m grateful and happy with service every time. Hear me now, “You can trust the cumulative automotive knowledge, professionalism, and consistent excellence you’re going to receive here.”
I get my oil changed here and have had my alignment done. Gil and his employees are friendly and professional. My daughter only comes to Gil’s as well. We won’t go anywhere else.
A local tire shop in Henderson(Discount Tire) referred me to Gil’s Automotive to have stripped lug(wheel bolt) replacement. Gil’s shop was attentive to my car needs and took care of the issue right away! Since, I’ve taken my cars to Gil’s for my automotive needs. Hands down, I highly recommend this shop to my family and friends for their automotive needs. Thank you Gil’s Automotive Service for keeping my car in excellent service!!
I am so grateful to Ryan at discount tire on Lake Mead Parkway for referring me to this wonderful repair shop. Gil will forever get any business I need in the future. Hes honest, fast, friendly, and very reasonable. Thank you so much, Mr. Gil, I truly appreciate you!
This shop is great. Friendly and prompt service.
My first visit to Gils. Brakes for my wrangler. Both discount tire and sams auto recommended gil. I appreciated the shuttle service home and back to gils. Gil provided pricing options for brakes so i could make an informed decision on parts and cost. I like the email follow up for tevirw and service tracking. At this point, I will visit gil again. The folks Appear to be very honest, and trustworthy.
Was recommended by Discount Tire.We took 2 vehicles in for wheel alignment and the first one needed a minor adjustment and the second one did not need any adjustments. Total charge was 1 hour labor. Anywhere else would have been full price on both.Rick is honest about what was needed and what was not needed.Gils is the place to go.
My husband and I just moved to Henderson 3 weeks ago, I was due for an oil change. After stopping at a local tire shop to get a shimmy checked, it was suggested that I have a mechanic look at it, as the tires were balanced twice and rotated twice. They referred me to Gil’s Automotive Service. I called on Monday and got an appointment today.Gil greeted me with a smile in his eyes (because he was wearing a mask! 👍🏻), and a friendly demeanor. We talked about my truck, planned to get the oil changed and then address the rough ride. We dropped it off and picked it up a few hours later, Gil had driven it and felt that it was the type of tires. He felt that the truck was sound and running normally, he owns the same model. The tires I now have are an off-road tire, purchased last December. They seem to getting rougher as they age. They’re a firmer tire. What impressed me was the fact that Gil “could have found” some sort of “problem” and charged me unnecessarily, but he didn’t. All I paid for was the planned oil change! That’s INTEGRITY!Thank you for your great service and congenial warmth, Gil! Bob and I will be back for all of our automotive service needs!Laurie H.
Ive been living in the Henderson, NV area for almost 10 years. I was referred to Gils Automotive almost immediately from another business who sends all of his customers there. I followed that advice, and to date Im still pleased with Gils services and attention to my car. A few years back, I had the opportunity to refer him to a friend who was told she needed a new engine on her 12 years old car. Instead of her using the mechanics service who initially gave her the diagnosis, she trusted that I had an honest mechanic who I was sure she would be pleased with. Another happy customer for Gil! To date, my car remains in great condition due to Gil and his Team. My hope is that he will be able to keep my car in the best of conditions for a lot more years)!!! Thanks Gil for being the BEST mechanic in Henderson!!
Nice people, just decided to get my work done elsewhere.
Fast, Friendly service, and they wont BS you about whats going on with your vehicle! Thanks Gil & Crew!
Great experience. Took in my vehicle for an alignment late in the day after Honda did a poor job on it. Vehicle now drives straight and the price on the alignment was great as well.
Received great service from honest workers. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning! Thank you Gil!
Honest an trustworthy prices Rick was my mechanic an im so happy with the service customer service is excelling an now i have a business that i can trust .
Ive had several of my cars worked on at Gils over the years.. Absolutely the best shop Ive ever found in Vegas par none.
My daughter lives in Henderson, NV and I am in PA. Felt so helpless when she needed a good honest mechanic to fix a small item on her Jeep. I am so glad I found Gils by asking some local auto parts stores. He was so kind and honest that I will have all auto work done by his shop. Made me feel like my small town in PA with all the hospitality in the world. Thank you so much Gil! Scott Green Waynesboro, PA
Gils AUTOMOTIVE is the best place I have ever found in Las Vegas where integrity is priority. I trust this place better than Honda dealer. Thank you Gil for your honesty and excellent service.
Everything was done on time with a great rate. Very professional.
Gils is awesome. Gil himself is very friendly and knowledgeable and doesnt treat us girls like we are dunb. This is the second repair they have done on my van and no recurring issues with the repairs. They are honest when it comes to the repair and estimate and the price is fair. Thanks for the great service.
Excellent customer service and the work is done right!
Made an appointment got the work done on time great work and friendly
Gils Automotive is my exclusive Go To mechanic and has fully earned my dedication! I have been depending upon them for many years now and have always been treated fairly and with total respect. I am grateful to know I have someone to trust with my vehicle. Thanks Gil and Team!!!
Good service, great prices, and they will give you a ride to and from if you need it. I cant recommend this place enough for alignments and suspension needs. They even offered to throw in a Corvette Servo for free if I bring them the part.
Gils automotive has been my go-to repair shop for a long time. Besides friendly, professional, and very reasonably priced service, I keep going to Gil because I trust him to keep my, and my wifes, car in great shape. I also like the fact he, and all the guys that work for him, sincerely appreciate my business.
I would (and have) recommend Gils to everyone! I needed a new alternator and serpentine belt installed, and had already bought the new ones. Usually my dad is my mechanic but I recently moved here and now my dad is 8 hours away - I was especially worried because I knew from past experience that mechanics have a tendency to overcharge women, and Im living off student loans while I get my doctorate degree. I called dozens of places to get a quote, and many told me they wouldnt install the alternator unless I bought it from them, and many told me theyd install it for $150-180. Gils told me they could install it for $90 - he was friendly, helpful, understanding, and reminded me a bit of my dad. He won me over - as long as I live here I go to Gils!
Good, honest service. In todays day and age, it is comforting to have a mechanic you can trust; one who will fix your car and not gouge you for any unnecessary repairs. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and very experienced people
FAST, EFFICIENT, FAIR PRICED. GILS IS THE BEST AUTO REPAIR SHOP AROUND. I DRIVE OR HAVE TOWED 22 MILES TO HAVE THEM DO THE WORK. TRUSTED. NOT JUST R&R GUYS
Great place. Honest and fair and they have always treated me well!
Something obviously went wrong with my vehicle when they did the alignment
Theyre the best. Fair pricing, an they dont take avantage of people. They just dont do it. All there employees are first class. No drugies there at all. All clean looking an polite.
I am extremely happy I found Gils. I just had another shop do a wheel alignment.... they charged me double and did a horrible job. My steering wheel was turned 1/8 turn to drive straight. My brand new tires had extreme wear after 1 month. Gils fixed my steering wheel position, and aligned the car perfect. Thank you.
In November 2016, after having spent hundreds of dollars replacing components restoring my 97 Expedition, one morning it would not start. My wife and I did further work but as 99.9% of the parts from the tail pipe to the radiator had been replaced and the one not replaced, serviced and cleaned and we had other responsibilities, I transported my truck at considerable time, expense and energy from Pahrump to a company in Henderson (Gil’s Auto) with whom I have had previous work done years before.Prior to any work being done on the truck, I asked for an analysis to make sure the correct solution would be applied to the problem. I was assured it needed new cylinder heads at a total cost for labor and other supplemental parts for $3500.00.I then ordered and paid for both left and right re-manufactured heads (another $1200.00) from highly rated national company and had them shipped directly to Gils along with new head gaskets, head bolts, water pump, hoses, etc. The cylinder heads did not need to be replaced as doing so did not solve the problem. Thepassenger side cylinder head is pouring out oil, there is evidence that he scratched the head, rendering it garbage, he reused both the head gasket and head bolts - twice. He installed the head without installing oil plugs, had to remove it, bought brass plugs from a hardware store instead of the proper steel plugs (which I had sent for free) from the cylinder head re-manufacturer, installed the head again without obtaining new gaskets and head bolts.Gil had told me I needed a new front end (another $1800.00) as it was not safe to drive. I did not need anything but a rubber stop which was on a lifetime warranty. I did NOT require a new front end. Exacerbating the issue, Gil did not do the front end correctly. The lower ball joints have to be removed, scrapped and replaced with ball joints AND control arms. The wheel alignment either was not done at all or needs to be redone.Gil lied to me and said my fuel pump was bad (another $1200.00). There was no need to remove the fuel tank and replace a new lifetime warranty pump with a used one with only a one year warranty - as that didnt fix the problem. He then said the AC pump was in danger of flying off the truck because the bearing was rattling. The replacement air conditioner compressor was not properly secured, enabling it to wobble and now needs to be replaced.Because they left the truck sit for 7 months and didnt trickle charge the batteries they discharged. Gil blamed it on a parasitic draw. However, the supposed electrical parasitic draw was never addressed. They did however burn out two Optima batteries ($250.00) each by hitting it with 50 amps several times to try to start the truck. Despite countless promises to replace a critical check engine burnt out dash bulb, it was never done.As my original fuel pump had a lifetime warranty, although I asked Gil’s to keep the pump for my return and reimbursement of $250.00, he threw it away - presumably so it couldnt be tested and found to be in proper working order - or he didnt take the tank off and replace my new pump at all. He lied to me again, telling me he would mail me a check - never happened!Gil’s also damaged several components while working on the truck - which I have had to replace. This matter has to date, cost us at least $24,500 in associated expenses, with approximately another $3500.00 necessary to ‘get it running. Gil had my truck for 7 months, promising me every week it would be finished Friday - then Monday, then Wednesday, etc. Nearly one year later, the truck still cannot be driven due to the faulty and incomplete repairs. As I will be turning 70 in November, I am on a limited pension. I simply cannot afford the additional $3500.00 to get it fixed.
They worked on my car the first time a month ago and did a good job so I took it back to get the window fixed and get the two front door locks to lock when I pushed the lock/unlock button. Now the button wont lock any of the doors and he kept saying its wasnt anything he did. It locked the back doors when I brought it to you and now it doesnt lock any of the doors including my hatch door. Thanks Gil Nice Job!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!
My a/c compressor was rattling indicating the bearings were going. Gils replaced the compressor but after I drove it home found there was no cold air being produced. Gils had not put compressor oil in nor any r134 freon. The compressor seized up. Now I have to have the job completely redone. Gils is an incompetent and crooked outfit.
Great service and trustworthy. Highly recommend.
Ive been going to gils for around 5 years have always had good experience with his work.Very honest and quick
A fair and honest man whos values reflect on the way he runs his business. The prices he charges are way below his competitors.
My Horror Story with Gil’s AutomotiveA while back I had Gil’s do some work on my 2005 titan. It was overheating, leaking transmission fluid, the valve covers needed to be replaced, the alignment was off, and the truck was making popping noises coming from the rear end. He also told me that I needed a new power rack and that the popping coming from the rear of my truck was because some suspension components were loose. Gil had my truck for the better part of two months!!! When I finally got it back the alignment wasn’t much better, the steering was NO better, and 3 hours hadn’t gone by before my rear end entirely went out. Turns out the popping noise was actually the rear end going out not loose suspension components like Gil had told me. As the truck sat in my driveway for the next couple days I noticed it was still leaking fluid from the transmission. For the next month or so I had the truck at another shop getting a whole custom rear end fabricated and installed. Aside from that I came to find out that the issue I had with the steering was a bolt that was rubbing on the shock hoop. I suspect this was the reason that Gil charged me for the rack and pinion that I most likely never needed. The very day that I got the truck back from the driveline shop I noticed that the truck was still overheating and that Gil never fixed the overheating problem either. I had plans to drive down to Arizona for my buddy’s birthday which I was never able to make due to him not fixing this issue. Since I already paid him to fix that problem I took it back to him to fix it correctly! He initially said what caused it was a wiring problem with the electric fans. When I took it back to him he told me that I still had a problem with the wiring to the fans. When I asked him what he charged me for the first time he acted like he actually fixed something that justified the cost and made this out to be a secondary issue. This did not fix the problem as it was still running hot so I again brought it back to him and he then told me I had a “flow problem” with my radiator. He then charged me approximately $438 dollars to put a new radiator in. This radiator made absolutely no difference at all. I took it back to him again and he told me that the truck WAS NOT overheating and it was probably just my gauge. He had my truck for another whole day and tested the gauge only to tell me that the gauge was fine and that it may just be the sensor. He said that he was “about 100 percent sure” that it wasn’t overheating. When I asked him if it was safe to take out of town on a road trip he told me he didn’t see why not. Thankfully I didn’t take the truck out of town because I would have ended up on the side of the road. The truck overheated so badly that it blew coolant all over the inside of the engine bay and out of the fender wells. The truck ended up on the side of the road steaming and dripping coolant all over. He then told me that he’d give me back the money I paid for the radiator but not the labor. When I took him the radiator he refused to refund me the money because I didn’t let him take it out and some of the fins were damaged. These fins were damaged from them putting the electric fans in! I know this because when I went to check the fan temperature control adjustment I noticed the already bent fins and thought to myself wow they really just threw this thing together without much care. The fins are bent at a downward angle. That right there tells you they got bent from putting the fans down in there not from me pulling them out. So to recap they charged me to fix a bunch of stuff that never got fixed and sold me parts I never needed. Thanks for nothing Gil! Now I’m sitting here hoping that I didn’t blow a head gasket, warp the heads, or damage the block because Gil told me that my truck wasn’t overheating and that it was fine to drive.
Excellent customer service and reasonably priced.
Gil never gives receipts for any work done. Computer down, unethical work, you name it, he does it. Went to pick my car up and the ignition was popped. Week before that my daughters car was missingNow we know that he was locked up for white collar crime.
Hes the best
Brought my volvo to Gils when my air conditioning broke and he fixed and it work better when the car was new.
Knowledge Mechanics
