Well the website clearly says it’s open. The lights are on all the machines are going the TVs going but the doors are locked, and there are several people in the parking lot, and standing in front of the front doors, and yet no one can get into work out. Pretty sure several people have driven 30 minutes or more like myself, to be here however no one answers the phone, and no one will let anybody in the gym. Odd we pay for these memberships, however we can’t work out. Cancelling membership…Would give zero stars if I could

I just wish there was a pool. But for $10 a month you cant go wrong.

The reason the gym is opening later than 7am on the weekends recently is because they cannot hold responsible staff with the low pay they are giving them. I wouldnt be surprised if they are forced to shut down eventually. The place is a revolving door for employees since finding a better job is the smarter option.4 week update. Still understaffed, still nothing being done about it. If you cant afford to to pay your employees, then you shouldnt be in business.

I’ll give this location 2 stars. We went in a few times and it was always very clean and the equipment is nice and updated. We are here today on a Sunday morning at 9am, and the gym was supposed to be opened at 7am. Other people in the parking lot said they just never opened up today? How is that allowed? So we are bummed about that because we have no way of knowing when they will open.

The gym was always clean when I was there. Staff was friendly and helpful! The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is because the hours were not great (I like to be able to workout whenever) and a couple times I showed up and it seemed to be closed or closed early. Not sure if this was due to wrong hours posted on google or me misreading.

Clean, Awesome equipment and a large variety of Weights and Cardio.Love it and the price beats everyone else in town!!

PF gives you a good service for the cost(member for 3+ years). I would like to see guidance posted by the door from the local manager on what he wanted to do with PF as it grew. Maybe next to the suggestions box. If guidance matches feedback, theres likely to be sustained growth. I would like to see later hours of operations. But Im just a crazy punk, so take my words with skepticism.

Ive been a member of Helena Planet Fitness for over 3 years. I like the variety of gym equipment and low key, non-competitive, atmosphere. Membership is inexpensive, even for the upgrade that allows my teenage son to workout when I do. Because I am a Black Card member, using the spa amenities after exercising is a relaxing finish to my visits.Three stars out of five because the equipment is beginning to need maintenance. Out of order signs are popping up and remaining in place for too long - one hydro massage chair in the Black Card lounge has been disassembled for several weeks. Also, the returning staff after COVID-19 restrictions is less motivated to provide customer service than in the past. Ive witnessed workers openly scrolling through their smartphones while at the front desk while I attempted to enlist their help.If I wanted to participate in formal classes with a trainer, I would probably rate PF lower. A friend who is suspending her membership reported that she has yet to be able to attend the class shes signed up for, because other activities were being done, instead.

Compared to all of the other PF locations across the country I’ve been to this is the ONLY one that is dirty. Dust on all machines, the precor stretching machine left my legs and knees black and it won’t come off. All other PFs have one person cleaning and dusting. This location is pretty gross compared to all other locations. Pics of dust and my dirty legs from the equipment after I scrubbed them 3x

I really enjoyed this gym, people were respectful, in both attitude and consideration. People kept the locker room clean and wiped down equipment. Good equipment to user ratio. There was only one day that it was too crowded for me to have my workout as I planned.

I canceled my membership today hours after the yearly renewal fee automatically drafted from my bank account and when I asked if they could work with me and refund the money they took for a few hours of a membership, they gave me a simple “no”. Not happy with the customer service or the contract. I will never recommend anyone to this facility.

Only problem with this place that Ive noticed so far, is the young girl that Ive encountered several times. Shes very rude and today I went to tan and with her back to me informed me they was full. When I stated Id wait she replied, well Ill go clean one!! Well thank you, since thats your job!!!

Make sure you read the contract carefully and remember your sign up date. You will be charged the 39 yearly fee even if you are just a little late cancelling your membership. You must cancel in a letter or go in personally. The membership doesnt automatically cancel after 12 months. Even if you can cancel anytime without a fee after that, you will still be charged the whole 39 fee even if you cancel one month into your new year ( in my brothers case, once your charged for your 13th month and realize it doesnt automatically stop after the year). College kids more than likely wont be there the whole year, but there is no deal for them. You wont get a reminder your anniversary date is coming up and are about to be charged for another year.

Planet fitness has really gone down hill! Its dirty, the bathrooms always smell like god knows what, they dont have enough equipment for the classes. So you could be using something and an employee will just come up and take it from you for the class then say sorry well give it back after WERE done. Seriously needs to get more equipment and better employees not happy.

Planet fitness is one of the nicest place to workout. I know that they have a motto of no judgement, bit the place is really like that. I have never been to a gym where everyone, staff and patrons, were so nice.I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a new gym!

Really enjoyed when they first opened. But when I moved away I had cancelled my account, and they told me I would no longer be charged. Come to find out 6 months later they were still pulling out of my account? I tried to get it figured out over the phone and they made me drive to Helena and werent much help other than telling me I need to cancel my membership which I had already done months in advance. Just very inconvenient

I love this gym! Friendly staff and lots of equipment to choose from. My favorite 2 things i love to do are the Black card spa where I can get a hydro massage after going through the 30 minute circuit that works almost every part of my body.

This gym was perfect for me even though Im a senior and could have a free membership at any other gymn in town. I wanted to give my daughter in law a 1 year membership for Christmas. I asked the front desk on two separate occasions and was told $99 for the year. The second time I asked to be sure the price would not change before the new year and was told no, it wouldnt. Today, I go in and said I wanted to purchase the one year for $99 and was told that offer didnt exist - now it was $199. I stated what I had been told twice and the manager came over and said, I made sure staff all signed that they had read that the $99 was over. Oh, how helpful!These people could use some customer service training. Youll be losing two adults that are currently members, and a new member had the offer still been in in effect.

Only reason it has one star from me is because I cant post without one. Employees apparently are not being trained right. I called in to ensure my membership was cancelled after my year contract. Thought it was all good, then a $39.99 charge shows up and $23.00 then I was told you can only cancel in person or through certified mail. Just take my money. So pissed. Do NOT recommend the yearly contract. They will still find a way to take your money. The day I cancelled, they were still adamant about charging me for another month even though I clearly said I would not be working out there. Sleazeballs.

I love coming here. The staff always welcomes you and says goodbye when you leave. It has plenty of equipment and is huge inside! I never feel judged and always feel great when I leave!

They have a giant sign on the wall that says that everyone is accepted and respected here. I doubt any of the management has ever looked up at that sign. I definitely did not feel respected there.Unlike a lot of other Planet Fitness locations, this ones not a 24 hour gym. I came from a much smaller club and a much smaller town that managed to keep the gym open 24 hours 7 days a week. So I know it can be done. My issue is not with the brand - just this location.Unlike my former club they do not have a family change room or rest room. This makes using the gym a lot harder for me and adds to the feeling of not being welcome there.They really dont know what theyre doing compared to other locations and other gyms in the area.This is a less important issue than the unwelcoming environment and staff attitude; however, the equipment here is not sized very well for people who are shorter in stature. Again, this is unique to this location, not all Planet Fitness.I miss my old club a lot. I always felt welcome there and accepted, even after midnight on Fridays.

This is the best gym deal in town for those who dont need the amenities of group fitness or a pool. Affordable, friendly, clean, good location. The only way Ill switch gyms is if I take up swimming or, by some miracle, find a free membership.

Would come in daily for lunch break to tan..then shower before Id go back to work...overheard an employee making fun of me calling me homeless and only came in to shower....wow...I kno its a little late...but the Planet Fitness I wrote this about was in Salem New Hampshire..not Helena Montana...

Clean and organized well. Friendly staff always ready to help. Only downside for me, there are a few machines I wish they had that I used in high school. Also their inverted leg press machine is not short person friendly.

The morning staff when I go is amazing welcoming and fun! You have great people working in the morning. Trainer is always willing to give advice and pointers great place to go!

Price is hard to beat. Friendly staff and nice to be able to workout late when no-one is there. Its a pretty strange atmosphere for a gym though, they give out free candy and have pizza some nights which seems counter intuitive and is hard to resist when youre tired from working out.They have a good selection of cardio and have a lot of fancy weight machines but are really lacking when it comes to your basic free weights. There are no real bench presses, squat racks, or free bar bells, instead youre limited to either Smith machines or fixed weight bars that only go up to 70lbs. They also could use more stretching mats and a better designated stretching area. They dont have a towel rental or borrow service either which is strange.

Friendly gym. Everything is super clean, and not usually terribly busy. Definitely one of the better options in Helena.

I have been to alot of planet fitness centers as I travel alot for work but the employees here dont smile or greet you. Come on people be a motivator for your customers! They are your paychecks! I like the spacing for customers and it looks clean which I also appreciate but please be the one place we can go in town to get great customer service with smiles and excitement!

I would never again, ever go to a Planet Fitness! I joined the gym during a promotion sale, when they were just opening in Helena, MT. I was with the gym for a year and half when I noticed that they were taking double payments out of my account, and charging me random few dollar charges here and there. I went in, in May 2018 and showed them my info from my account and asked for a refund. The male manager was less than helpful so I left, annoyed. I continued using the gym, and went back in, in June to discuss getting a refund. They had then changed management, and were pretty helpful in having me fill out a refund request form. I provided them with all of my bank records and all records they needed. They advised me that I would have a refund within 6 weeks. At this time I went ahead and cancelled my membership, because I was extremely frustrated by this point. I have now been waiting almost 14 weeks. I have yet to get my refund or any kind of acknowledgement from the company. I have called and spoke with the newest manager. She has repeatedly told me she will call the regional manager, and promise to return my call. This has been 3 times, and I have never had a return call from her! I was given the RMs number from an employee when I called. Ive left her two voicemails, Ive never had a return call. I called last week to speak with the manager, I was hung up on. An employee then called me back a few hours later and left a vm saying that she believes my refund has been accepted, and is now in the hands of accounts receivable. I was told by this new manager that my refund was accepted almost 9 weeks prior. If this was only a few dollars, I wouldnt be as concerned, but the is $100+ that I am owed! This company is completely inconsiderate to their customers. Refuses to acknowledge their wrong doing, or offer any help!

Clean, not overly crowded at peak times and down right deserted the rest of the time. As far as the staff being rude, as some commenters have posted, my experience as a member now of 4 months has been the absolute opposite.

Sure feels like a contract to HAVE to do direct deposit. I tried to buy two one year memberships outright for my daughter & I for our birthday/Christmas presents, because its the only thing we wanted. We were denied membership because we wanted to pay in full. I have no checking account. Thanks so much for your help & services. Its all a big lie. Im so disappointed.

I really like this gym overall and the affordable price with NO contract being what attracted me. Staff are very friendly and helpful! They do need Wi-Fi and the only real problem I have is the music. Its always the hip hop/ techno modern whatever channel being played and even though I listen to my own, I still can hear it over the intercom. Im a musician and prefer to listen to a variety rather than the stuff that appeals more to a small portion of the audience...please consider my request to alter the music situation and have customers be able to listen to a variety of stations or something, or when hooking up on one of the tvs to have a choice in plugging into different music genres. Thanks!

Plenty of machines, even if there are a fair amount of people there, open 24/7 during the week and most of the day on the weekend. Showers, massage chairs, and tanning booths are available.
