Very helpful & knowledgeable employees, great service with entirigty, products that meet demand

This review is concerning the Newberry South Carolina branch. Now that I am no longer with the company, I feel that I have the freedom to speak out and let people know whats really going on behind the scenes. To call this branch of Merchants Foodservice an ignominious failure would be an understatement. You will find failed leadership and incompetence in every department. The division president is merely collecting a check and through his absentia has left the day to day functioning of this business to less than qualified people. You have a front office manager who thinks she runs the company and another one just like her in the transportation department. The girl that works the will call window has the worst attitude I have ever seen and regularly smarts off to customers and drivers dropping off loads. In some departments you will find nepotism and it is covered up on paper, and in all departments you will find favoritism. Leadership is never held accountable for not providing viable tools needed to succeed. The Sales Director is in over his head and doesnt really have the level of experience the position requires. To make matters worse, The Sales Director is also having a very blatant affair with the Marketing Manager and this has lead to bad team dynamics. She has received promotions she wasnt qualified for and anyone who crosses her gets punished or fired. Their affair infringes on issues of power and money and is highly toxic. This woman came to the company with no industry experience and was brought on as a DSR. As a DSR she was consistently on the bottom of every performance indicator, and despite that fact, the Director has continued to promote her up the chain. She has also been given numerous benefits, along the way and a hefty salary and car allowance. She doesnt create any revenue and offers absolutely nothing to this company other than being a drain on its finances. On paper she has been put in charge of programs she knows absolutely nothing about to justify her job, meanwhile other staff members have been fired that were experts in these areas of concentration. Its been said that she has enough dirt on management to take down the whole company for sexual harassment. This branch tries to promote themselves as being Christian and that is false. They dont honor their commitments and they really dont care about their employees. They hire and promote the wrong people and prioritize unproductive meetings and activities. Someone from corporate really needs to investigate this branch.

The worst costumer service. She ignore Business appointments.
