Service was amazing I came in 2hrs early and they had my car ready and clean. There was even a complimentary upgrade and very kind and swift customer service. Wonderful experience and they returned my wallet after it was discovered in their parking lot. Thanks guys keep up amazing work!

I am very pleased with the professional courtesy provided by management and employees, each time we rent. I have rented several times over the past year, and am always satisfied with their customer service, and willingness to go the ‘extra mile’.I rest securely when making reservations because of the consistent and excellent rental service they provide. Melanie & her “Posse’” are the best of the best in knowing how to treat people! She has the best, cleanest, (and fastest), cars, trucks, SUV’s, and even her moving trucks are awesome! I’ve rented them all. The customer service is out of this world! I have driven 5 hours MULTIPLE times just to rent from her. I am looking forward to calling Mississippi my home soon. And I will continue to rent from Melanie as long as I am physically able to drive! Thank you Melanie!!! -Bryan

The only reason there is one star is because you have to leave 1. I’m a travel agent and I booked my clients rental through Budget. The reservation was confirmed and ready for pickup at the Slidell La location, well due to Hurricane Ida I had to call and see about changing locations. I called customer service and they assured me the car could be picked up in Mandeville La . I called one more time to confirm and they then told me I’m sorry there is no vehicles at that location and there was no record of who I first spoke to. Called back in to customer service was disconnected and then on hold for 35minutes to get disconnected again. Finally spoke with a really nice lady she was a supervisor and she apologized for all the inconvenience and assured me there was a vehicle available for pickup at the Hattiesburg Ms location and quoted me the price of 581.78. When my client showed up for pickup she was charged $717, so I went to speak with the lady (Tonya) working at this location to find out why she was asked to pay a different price. She then told me an additional driver was added which was not requested by my client. When I requested for my client to be refunded the additional driver she called her supervisor. Her supervisor told her to cancel the whole transaction and treat my clients as walk ins and charge them $650 at that point I told them they to keep the vehicle and give my clients a refund. She told me bring me the key I brought her the key and asked how long before refund she told me 3-5 days. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. So rude! Didn’t try to help at all . Didn’t even come out to inspect vehicle with client. I will never do business with Budget in the future. Went up the road to enterprise and was treated like a person! Had a vehicle in 30 minutes!

I really wish I didn’t HAVE to give one star. The website showed a car as being available for pick-up, so I pre-paid the full $616 and change for the rental. The girl keeping an eye on the front desk while the manager was picking up a vehicle was perfectly polite and lovely.After about 5 minutes, the manager storms in and is SO RUDE. She wouldn’t take my card because my husband’s name was on it not mine. I do understand that rules are rules, so after I gathered my things, I asked her if I got my husband to come up there with me if we could still get the car (which, btw, was only available because someone didn’t show up to pick up the car at 1:00 and she kept saying she had -20 cars for the weekend). Her response was “IF the car is still here at 4:00.” I asked for a refund and she simply told me to call customer service.In summary, I paid $616 up front to be treated like gum stuck to the bottom of her shoe. NEVER AGAIN.

Melanie was so nice! She helped me out since I had so much trouble with their sister location in another city. I have seen the reviews and just know it is all in how you approach people. I explained to Melanie that I had been contacted by Budget about my upcoming rental by a very RUDE employee. Melanie took care of my problem. Next time I need a car, I will be driving to Hattiesburg to see her!

The cost is definitely more reasonable than Enterprise, maybe because of the dreariness of the place. Once you open the door, you want to walk back out again.

Waited an hour to get up to the podium just to be told that out of state licenses require a $200 major credit card hold. I travel constantly using my bank card to get rental cars everywhere. Which i successfully do on a regular basis. This is the first company I’ve seen actively do this. All i needed was a car to get to a funeral..missed the funeral. Thank you for caring so much for others in this time of need enterprise

OMG!!!! Stay away from this Car Rental in Hattiesburg. Their Cars are never cleaned and the Manager is very rude!!! They have double standards on how to treat people. Ive been in line watching them just give their friends FREE rentals the best selection of cars. While the manager gives the paying people the dirty cars. Avis need to come down and check on how much waste in profit happens at this location. Yes, we have too many car rentals here in the city to choose from to be treated poorly. Just STOP going and maybe Avis will make a few changes in the future.

I wish I could rate 0.As we were on the flight home from St Thomas.... I rented a car online for us to drive home from the airport. I made a mistake about the city name where I was returning car. When we picked up the car I told them. They put me on the phone with someone who told me to go ahead and take the car (it was after midnight) and straighten it out at the place I return to. .. that it was not a problem. The original rental was less than $100 for less than 24 hours of use.But what I found out was....Yes it was fine to take it in to the office near my home — but what they HAD NOT told me was there was going to be a charge of over $500.My husband was very sick so he didn’t try to argue with them. I called and spoke to a very rude employee..i tried to explain that if they had told me what the charge was going to be I would have canceled it — could have stayed in a nice motel for that price and got somebody to pick us up the next morning.We had the Taurus for about 12 hours.... and returned it about 200 miles from the pick up point. Over $500!!Don’t expect this company to be reasonable ... or to do the right thing.I see now why the google rating is so low.

Very rude, last year I rented a car to be with my dad during a hospital stay for his heart. He almost died. I spent 11 nights at his bedside. I called in and was told that my rental extended for daily rate plus 10 dollars 1 time. Imagine my surprise when upon return it didn’t happen, I was charged over 1000 on a 400 rental plus a locate fee of like 65 for sending a letter to my home address even. Though they knew the car sat parked in a va parking lot. Today the man says I can’t use my debit to rent even though it is policy you can and I did the last time. He said he doesn’t participate in that. I’m needing the car to go pick up the same dad to care for him with me in his final stages. Trying to get there ASAP and hope we didn’t lose too much time waiting to pick up the car. Never again will I step foot in any budget.

Reserved a car on Tuesday for the weekend (Pickup on Friday, return on Monday) the money came out of my account on that Wednesday. I go to pick up the car on Friday and everything seems fine. The guy gets the keys to the car I’m supposed to have and tells me he needs my license and card. Give them to him, he runs my card and then proceeds to tell me that he can not rent me the car because my card is a debit card. And I tell him that the card can be run as debit or credit because it’s the same card that I always use to reserve hotel rooms. And he tells me he can’t run it that way. And I said well if y’all knew that why did the money come out of my account? He tells me he’s not sure and that I need to call the 1-800 number. In the meantime I’m calling all the other car rental places in the city and everyone is booked up. I call the 1-800 number and was placed on hold for 20 minutes only to be told that I would not receive a refund because I did not cancel within 24 hours. I told them I’m not the one canceling the reservation y’all are. I ask to speak with a supervisor and they tell me that I can’t speak with one and gave me no explanation as to why I couldn’t. So after finally getting someone to understand that I wasn’t cancelling the car but they were they told me that I would receive the full refund. I asked the customer service rep 3 times just to be sure it would be the full refund and he confirmed that. I check my account this morning and all they refunded me was the reservation fee. At this point I’m just going to dispute it with my bank because I do not even want to deal with the customer service reps anymore. This ordeal could’ve been solved by either giving me the car or refunding me my money and has now turned into an even bigger mess. I will NEVER use this car rental company ever again.

DON’T GO HERE!!! Customer service is HORRIBLE. My husband reserved what was supposed to be a 9 passenger vehicle about a month ago for our family vacation. He was told several times by the customer service rep that he would be getting a truck that would accommodate. Wednesday 8/26, when we went to pick up the truck, the cashier told us that the 7 passenger truck was the only thing they had available, We let him know that the vehicle was reserved for at least 9 passengers, the worker said that they did not have anything else available. The budget rep refused to try find a vehicle that would accommodate, He simply said he already knew everything was booked because of the Labor Day holiday coming up. We had no choice but to take the vehicle because we had already paid our money. Some of our other family members had to trail us to our destination in another car and they had paid their half to ride in the rental. I would strongly advise anyone that is wanting to rent a car to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. DO NOT USE BUDGET. THE WORKERS ARE LAZY AND DO NOT CARE IF THE CUSTOMER IS 100% SATISFIED. ALL THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT IS GETTING YOUR MONEY. Not only that but when we returned the vehicle, that was tooo small, the lady told us that our deposit would be back on our card in 48 hours, well today make 72 hours and the deposit is still not on the card. I called budget and the lady lied and said she never told me my deposit would be back on my card in 48 hrs, she said she told me 5-10 business days. LIES! LIES! LIES!! MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE CONTACTED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO MAKE IT RIGHT AT ALL! BAD BUSINESS! AGAIN DON’T GO HERE!!!

Customer service does not exist at this establishment. We rented a 10 truck to pick up on a Saturday and confirmed ahead of time that it was there. On Friday, we received a call stating that we had not picked up the truck that day (we had a confirmed pick up in writing for the following day) and it had been rented to someone else. The rental had even been prepaid in full and the agent just flat out lied and gave our truck away. We will advertise this joke of an establishment to everyone we know. DO NOT EVER USE THEM. THEY WILL JERK YOUR TRUCK OUT FROM UNDER YOU AND LEAVE YOU HANGING. If I could give this review a zero, I would.

This location is extremely understaffed and undersupplied. The website stated they had almost all varieties of cars available but when I finally was able to get someone on the phone at the location, she told me there would be nothing at all available for a week. When asked about the stock listed on the website she stated the website will let you reserve whatever you want, but Im telling you we only have two cars and 10 reservations for the next week. Dont waste your time.

Is zero stars an option? by far the worst place to rent a car from. Customer service is putrid and even if you cancel days in advance they charge you 25.00. This company is money hungry and not customer friendly, please save your money, time, and frustration and go somewhere else.
