It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I found the Ford Ranger I was looking for and had them ship it from Missouri to Virginia which took about three weeks. When they called that it was in I made an appt and did all the prep by phone. When I arrived all I had to do was sign a few pieces of paper and picked up my BEAUTIFUL truck. And did the paperwork in a shout time. I let them know when I planed to come in and they were ready. Yes!! I would do this again.

My Chevrolet cruze blew a head gasket and maxcare refused to pay for it. I personally want to thank Josh and Pete from the service center for being on my side with this issue. Overall an excellent experience with a wonderful purchase at the end. Two young fellows, Malik and ?, were especially helpful. The two older Customer Specialist who we worked with were competent but never answered my several phone messages or emails. We purchased a Nissan rogue from here and bought the extended warranty. 20,000 miles later the transmission went bad, the warranty carmax sold us, max care was a joke ! It took 3 days to even get ahold of someone, being on hold over an hour each time only to be disconnected, they were beyond rude, car max never answers their phone, went through a call center and the manager refused to speak to us, told the call center he would call an hour later, never did, when we called back, another very rude person who basically said they didnt care and actually laughed at my husband ! They sure are nice while trying to sell you junk then they completely blow you off and are nasty ! They will never get our business again

Which effects our interest rate on The loan will have from a dealer that Doesnt lie to us about selling our vehicle Out from underneath of us. My suggestion would be do not trust these people.

I am disappointed that the car report did not mention two pretty deep, small scratches on the exterior of the vehicle, I thought the report was supposed to cover everything thats wrong with the car. I had initially loved the customer service for this place and filled out a survey on how easy it was to purchase a vehicle and how nice they were, But now 2 months down the line after financing a vehicle with them my car not switching gears and break light switching on and off when I am at a red light (Ford Focus 2014) I took the vehicle back to them after “inspecting” the vehicle and stating there is no issues. The car kept doing the same thing .I had to take the car back to CarMax for a diagnosis from Ford on 12/4/2020 Friday. Today is Tuesday 12/8/20 and I haven’t received not one phone call and was not told that my vehicle would stay there this long especially since I was told “The vehicle has no issues”. Luckily when I have to work my husbands car was available. Hopefully this issue gets resolved. Good luck if you decide to choose CarMax!

My family size recently increased but unfortunately my income did not. With that being said we needed a vehicle that was affordable but reliable as well. We settled on a Honda Pilot and began our search. Our Honda Dealer didnt have any in stock so we turned to Carvana and Carmax. With Carmaxs 30 day money back guarantee it was the best choice. We loved the Pilot but my mechanic found a flaw with it (not Carmaxs fault) damage to the frame from a previous accident. I returned the car for repairs but it was so bad that they told me i needed a new one. They asked if i needed a loaner vehicle which was thoughtful but at the same time it was a tool i felt was used to lock me into buying from carmax. 1 week turned to 2, 2 weeks into 2 months, and 1 additional month until finally the search for the perfect Pilot with no flaws was over. They sat me down, filled out paperwork, rolled over my down payment and other cash towards the newer Pilot, and handed me the keys. I hop in to drive home and notice problems immediately. The passenger mirror this time. I made an appointment to get it fixed in a few weeks. In the meanwhile i gather my family of 6 for out first family outing in the new car to find dirt stains, animal hair (my son has an allergy to animal hair), and sand everywhere. My wife is so upset. All the sale reps i spoke with were polite but none were extremely thorough especially considering the experience i had been having with them. They said sorry enough sure, but no one jumped through hoops to give me updates or return my phone calls. If the condition of these cars are a statement of their quality check they ought to be ashamed of themselvesThey didnt even bother to clean the car well in the middle of this pandemic. This review is not only based on the car condition being less than what was expected (would you put your daughter behind the wheel of this car?), but also on small moments of confusion and no call backs from the store. There was even a time i called three days in a row only to be told a manager would call me back in 15 to 30 minutes to no avail. Thats not good business. And sure, i wasnt the easiest customer. I could have settled for a different car. But they have a Love Your Car Guarantee and i really wanted to know what that felt like. I cant call out any names in particular because i spoke with so many different people but i give my top remarks to Benjamin. He is the only reason i give this review 1 star instead of 0 if that were possible. I had even emailed a David Green about an issue i was having with the finance department. He had been responding before hand but to this one i never got a response. Its one thing to not return a phone call but another thing entirely to ignore an email. I could go on but this is long enough.

The entire car buying process can be daunting. CarMax definitely has the whole process figured out and I feel comfortable buying one of their vehicles since the associates do not work on commission and the vehicle had to undergo a fairly thorough checklist. I also love the 90 day/4000 mile warranty and 30 day return policy. Again, more reassurance that I wont be stuck with something I decide I dont like. However, I did not like that the vehicle I decided to purchase needed a new blower fan motor, remote start, and rear head rest. These are all minor details in the grand scheme of a vehicle working properly, but it did make me feel hesitant that maybe the inspection process isnt all that thorough after all because the worn blower motor was LOUD! There is no way someone turned the cabin fan on and did not notice it prior to me test driving and buying the vehicle. The limited warranty did cover all of these overlooked details though.

I had a vehicle shipped to the Harrisonburg VA store for free, was able to check it out thoroughly and the 30 day/1,500 mile return is an awesome perk. The Harrisonburg staff was tremendously helpful, thoughtful, patient and actually did go out of their way for me and fixed something for free that I had caused (totally my fault). I took Carmax financing, which was good but they also gave me 3 business days to find other financing for no cost, which I did. They even gave me a loaner while they were fixing my mistake and called to see how the loaner was doing...I mean, who does that?! Great work Harrisonburg, VA Carmax! We have always sold our cars ourselves when the time came because we take very good care of our vehicles and have always been able to get top dollar by selling them ourselves. However because of our concerns with Covid my wife and I recently decided to try Carmax in Harrisonburg when it was time to sell our Toyota Corolla. I did the online estimate and then made an appointment with Dave in Harrisonburg. Dave was friendly, forthright, and efficient. The online estimate was lower than what we would expect if we sold it ourselves but that was a given and the difference wasnt a deal breaker. Dave assessed the car, confirmed the online estimate, processed the paperwork, and within an hour we had our check and were on our way. We were very pleased with the efficiency of the process and with their attention to Covid 19 protocols. We highly recommend Dave and Harrisonburg Carmax.

Fast and easy place to sell my car

Would have been a good experience because our salesperson was nice but we have had nothing but issues. We “bought” a car and I say it like that because they didn’t process the loan correctly and our bank didn’t want to pay for a car that wasn’t worth even close to the selling price. But what was worse is the fact that the car had so many issues.Within a day we found so many problems. Two of the wheel bearings had to be replaced, which meant we had to have it towed from our house (2 hours) back to carmax. The heated seats didn’t work correctly. The DVD player was missing. The passenger side window was broken and wouldn’t go up.The car we traded in is in limbo in Fredericksburg and we continually get the run-around as to when we can have our traded in car back. There is a 7-day guarantee for your purchase, but for some reason we can’t get our traded in car back. No one is communicating with us. We call daily to see where our car is and they keep saying it will be in the next day..maybe. For the future, it would make sense company-wide to keep the car at the same Carmax it was sold at, to allow for a return.We had such an amazing experience with SLC carmax a couple times and this has just trumped the good with way too much bad stuff.I haven’t had a working car since we got the carmax car and it’s been two weeks as of yesterday, with no idea when our car will actually be back to us.

I got my car here a little over a year ago and it was such a good experience. They dont follow you around while shopping and dont try to push anything. I have severe anxiety so it was refreshing. I like to walk in to pay, and everytime theyre extremely friendly. My car breaks broke in VA beach back in the summer and they worked to help me get them fixed so I could get home. I wouldnt go anywhere else for a car.

CarMax made this process very easy and enjoyable. A car I wanted to look at was in a different city, so they had it shipped to my town and held it for me to test drive. After the test, we found a small item that needed attention, and I wanted time to consider. The Carmax associate pulled the car, had the chip in the windshield fixed right away, and had it ready when I called the next day to buy. All straightforward and friendly. And I got a great car.

Sold me a lemon. I bought a 2016 Mazda CX-5. 4 months after purchase, I had to replace the rear differential and left axle. 1 month after that, the left axle went bad AGAIN and had to replace. Had to replace struts as well. Also, there is a popping noise coming from the front left side that no mechanic can seem to figure out. Will NEVER purchase from Carmax again.

I had purchased the Max Care warranty and didnt know how good it was until today. With this car needing almost $2000 in repairs I was informed that I would only owe my $250 deductable. Sales staff have always been pleasant and the service department always pleasant. Top notch for sure.
