I live in Florida and because of COVID, counselors here are booked 3-4 months out. I went through my insurance (Cigna) to try virtual help, but all the counselors I spoke with there seemed very cookie cutter. (It may sound crazy, but I always felt like they had a piece of paper with approved responses taped to the side of their computer screens.) Im not a fan of virtual counseling, because it feels impersonal - but its the way of the world now. So, I started researching places in other states, and eventually, I found the Neurofeedback center.I could not have been happier with my counseling experience! My counselor and I clicked right away, like we were old friends. She was (and still is) an AMAZING help to me, providing great advice without making me feel judged. I genuinely feel like she cares - even when were just chatting on the phone - and Im able to open up to her with no problem.Everyone Ive interacted with has been kind, courteous and professional. I HIGHLY recommend them!! A+++
Ive been seeing a counselor here, for individual therapy, for over a year. It has been, by far, the most transformative and helpful experience Ive had in trying to improve myself. I cant thank N&CC of PA enough for their continued support!
While I had an initial confusing start. I never felt pressured or unheard in my communication with the Neurofeedback and Counseling Center. I am a clinician myself, and found this agency and its practitioners a new level of professionalism and quality to strive towards. I have NEVER benefitted from other traditional sources of therapy like I have benefitted from Neurofeedback training. Not only was I quickly able to clear up any scheduling snafus, but also I received help in my initial intake session; more help than I have gotten from years of other therapies. Amanda is a fantastic clinician. I also experienced Morgan, who I find phenomenal in her role and position. She is also very funny and knows her stuff! Even the wonderful person who answers the phones put me at ease and made me feel so competent, like I knew what was going on at every turn. The facility is easy to find and access. It is comfortable, quiet, and stylish. I have encountered other people in the lobby, and there is no feeling of awkwardness that has been experienced at other providers offices where I have worked. The quality and brightness of the practitioners I experienced is the most profound I have encountered. For the Neurofeedback training itself, not only do you do a pretest, but you also do a daily check in per your sessions. Then, the treatment is informed and guided by the expertise of Amanda, the practice of Morgan, and the concerns and needs you are presenting. I budgeted before I started therapy this round and had committed my entire deductible to Neurofeedback this year. This amount is close to $4000. The money has been very well spent. I still have struggles with sleeping, but I also feel like a different person. Situations before where I would lose my mind, honestly, I now can handle them with a clear head. Though I may still shake like a leaf, I no longer am swarmed by or collapsing into uncontrollable emotionality. When I started Neurofeedback, I felt like I could not find ground, like I was floating. I now can feel the strength and have developed the muscles to climb higher and go further on this earth. When I say this therapy has been life changing, I am not exaggerating. I want everyone in the world to experience this fantastic therapy and The Neurofeedback and Counseling Center of Pennsylvania is a practitioner I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We feel extremely grateful for our virtual sessions during this pandemic. Our 7 year old daughter was feeling anxious before bedtime and after working weekly with one of the therapists, she is now falling asleep with ease. We have follow up appointments which she always looks forward to. Our daughter has found a new friend who she feels safe with and can share her feelings with. They do coloring activities, meditations and breathing exercises together. She will have these tools for the rest of her life. We highly recommend Neurofeedback & Counseling Center of Pennsylvania!
I tried for months to obtain services with her for my son. Her professionalism was a joke. His insurance was more than willing to work with her. She kept reporting that they were the problem. They were not. Eventually, I found another provider and they signed the insurance contract and services started within weeks. Im sorry I wasted months on the hope of neurofeedback and her lies.To respond to the reply: youve wasted enough of my time, but thanks for the offer!
I went here for a year. Been tossed around to different therapists. Their communication sucks. I kept trying to get an appointment in with my busy schedule and they would just not get back to me. The hours were great. But the good therapists would leave and do their practice else where. I would not recommend this place.
By far the best counseling experience I have had. Especially with COVID-19 in effect, i couldnt have asked for a better group to work with.
The owner and office was amazing! I appreciated the professionalism and how I was treated with kindness. Asking for help is not always an easy thing to do but if you’re going to, i definitely recommend this center. A+
Beware. This practice is a scam. Save your money. Go to an ACTUAL therapist to talk through your issues. If you dont heed this warning, be prepared to drop at least $120 (if you have a $40 copay) before you even begin an actual treatment which consists of watching movies with no feedback whatsoever from Amanda the therapist. Even though during your second appotment there is a comprehensive report printed out from her software program (she bought after she got her online certification) you will not be given a copy of it to review. You wont be provided any insight as to how you are doing or your progress until you supposedly go through all of your paid sessions. And god forbid you might have to reschedule within 24 hours. Not only will you be charged for that session, you also be charged a $100 fee on top of your session charge. Thats for a RESCHEDULE! Completely inflexible. Save yourself precious time, money and frustration. Avoid this place!!h
I highly recommend this practice. I have worked with Amanda for a while now and she has always provided valuable counseling in all situations of my life. She is professional, relatable, caring, and always helpful. Working with her has been such a positive experience for me. Thank you!!
I cant recommend this practice enough. Its been a great choice for me since I started seeing Amanda in regular sessions earlier this year. I was having a flare up of generalized anxiety and depression symptoms brought on by a few big changes in my life. Im a big believer in cognitive behavioral therapy and talk therapy as well as seeking out a good therapist for times when you just need a little help and outside neutral perspective. Through the course of my work with Amanda, shes helped me learn many helpful skills to stop negative self-talk, embrace change and not be afraid of it, calming techniques, and the importance of self-care. I would definitely recommend her for one-on-one talk therapy. Ive also never had a problem scheduling appointments and Amanda is always very clear in explaining her billing/insurance filing process. I appreciate that.
Amanda was great! I left every appointment feeling better! She explains everything that you will be doing in an appointment before you start any type of therapy and why your doing it! Very helpful!
The neurofeedback eased my anxiety to manageable levels, improved my sleep ( I woke up less often in the middle of the night) and gradually, during the course of my 20-session treatment, instilled in me a sense of lightness and optimism, peace, and release. In fact, I found the sessions so beneficial that I did a second round of 20 sessions. I would highly recommend doing at least 2 sessions per week for the most effectiveness. I felt a very striking difference in the weeks I had one session vs the weeks I had two.
I went there for over a year and saw Jean Berry and She was exceptional and helped me in so many ways.Jean apparently moved on from this ridiculous practice and the owner is now trying to price hike me with a counselor with less credentials and experience than Jean. The owner also didnt call me, I had to call multiple times after I was unable to reach my therapist. The owner is rude, inaccessible and only interested in money. Its a loss for them that Jean is gone.
When I began seeing Amanda I immediately sensed her genuine acceptance and desire to help. Her expertise as a very skilled therapist has helped me to trust again and reach my goals by providing me with coping skills and guidance. While her insight and proficiency in talk therapy helped me very much, she introduced me to neurofeedback.I was skeptical at first, but Im so glad I trusted her.My anxiety has improved greatly! I highly recommend Amanda and her team! I couldnt ask for a better therapist!
I recently went to this practice and worked with Amanda. She was attentive and helpful. From the moment I entered, she made me feel like it was a safe place to talk.
Over a year ago, I had a series of unfortunate events occur in my life. Common sense told me it was time for me to make some changes. I was on a downward spiral. I was depressed, tired, overwhelmed and in a horrible place. That is when I made the call to my Employee Assistance Provider. The representative gave me a few counselors to choose from and this was only because of the area I wanted to be in. I had three names and I reviewed the website for each one. My first call was to Neurofeedback and Counseling Center. From there I set my appointment and the moment I met Amanda, I knew it was exactly where I was going to stay. First I want to say, when you walk into her lobby area you feel a sense of calmness and relaxation. I always joke and say im just going to reserve a time to come and nap in your lobby area because it is exactly the peace you need after a long day. My appointments are usually after work. BTW, she is very flexible with her scheduling. Im not encouraging you to reschedule often but in the event that you need to, the link she provides takes you right to her website. I have had to do this and she gets back to me as soon as possible. Amanda is very friendly and down to earth. She likes to laugh too! She also a professional, trust me when I say that. I feel very comfortable talking to her, saying exactly what is on my mind at that moment. We begin our session, and she always asks what do I want to talk about. Just that question alone speaks volumes, because anyone seeking help A) Always has something on their mind and B) This helps to give you some control over your session. For someone like me who is a complete mess at times, its almost a way for me to try to organize my thoughts before my appointment! She has helped me identify my challenges, things I can do to overcome these obstacles, but always in a positive light. She encourages me to take care of myself and helps me understand that I am someone who matters. Each session is different and we walk through it as if we were just friends having a serious conversation about life. She will address with you any topic you feel comfortable discussing. Personal, professional, family, stress/anxiety, alcohol/addiction, or if you have something funny to tell her please dont be afraid to! Shell laugh with you! While I am still working on my issues, with each session I walk out of there feeling so much better than I did when I walked in. I am rating her practice as 5 stars. Amanda is truly a gem!
Through the counseling services and neurofeedback that I have received at Neurofeedback & Counseling Center of Pennsylvania, I have really been able to see a huge difference in myself because of all of the changes I have made. I am getting to know myself, and I feel like I have gotten a second chance at life! Thank you for all of your amazing work, Amanda!
I had a great experience! I felt understood and it was very helpful. Definitely recommend!
I am so pleased with the help I received to address some taxing issues. Jeanne, my counselor, and the staff at the Neurofeedback center are helpful and kind. I highly recommend her and this office if you are in need.
Worst practice I have ever encountered. Amanda is not a skilled professional at all. My husband and I were not impressed by her skills at all. Their billing office is incompetent and is still trying to collect money from us that they insist that we owe them. If they were organized professionals that knew how to conduct a business we wouldnt be having this problem. They also have zero phone etiquette. I wouldnt take my goldfish to see these people. WORST EVER.
I would not recommend this practice, very hard to reach reception and schedule an appointment and they do not follow up on messages left. Staff not professional ended up going somewhere else to continue treatment as a result. Would NOT recommend this practice to anyone.
I was at a very low point in life, depression, stress, mental restlessness and anxiety where controlling my life, affecting my job, and my relationships with family and friends and it was getting worse. When I started therapy and started to explain what was going on there was some misunderstanding when it came to my experiences, but once those went away, and over time and trying out neurofeedback therapy I started to notice positive changes in my life, most notably the ability to relax, and the ability to manage my stress. I was aprehensive at first with the neurofeedback part of therapy, but with some research I wanted to give it a try, and it worked. I wish I could have continued on, but had some insurance provider issues which caused me to stop. In the end Im glad I went here, and if it wasnt for the help I revieced the outcome would have been horrific.
When I began Neurofeedback with Amanda Levinson in March of this year I was in constant pain 24 hours a day. I had had 3 spinal surgeries in 2015 and as a result I suffered from terrible neuropathy in both hands. I cant say enough about my results and my experience with Ms. Levinson. I am delighted with the progress I am making, There are many days when I am totally pain free. I will continue to work on this issue and others until I am literally told to leave. Ms. Levinson is a wonderful therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, kind and very patient and understanding. I love working with her. My life gets better every day because of Amanda Levinson and Neurofeedback. Give it a try, I promise you have nothing to lose and so much to gain. Thank you Amanda and Neurofeedback because of you my quality of life is greatly improved and I am forever grateful.
What a wonderful clinician.
Office personal not friendly and will not let you talk directly to the person who does the billing so feel very unsatisfied.
Love it!
