We were working with this company for several years and have no complaints. It looks like they are a family owned business, pleasant people and highly professional. They are quick to respond, leave messages with updates, and their work in decent. It is easy for the customers get frustrated without AC when its 100F outside, but they do their best to address multiple requests, and I wanted to thank them for their efforts.
As others have said this guy is a crook. First American Home Warranty sent this guy out to replace my dead AC unit. I am not sure where to begin. He refused to drive to York to pick up the unit, which delayed the install 2 weeks while another unit was delivered to a location suitable for him. Then when he did get the unit he neglected to tell me that the new air handler, which goes in the attic was larger than the one I had, and he would not enlarge the hole So I had to leave work to be able to cut a larger hole. Then I was charged for new lines, etc, which were not replaced. The drain line is laid flat along the beams with no decline which means the drain is likely to clog. There is no drain pan installed, which means an overflow will seep through my ceiling. On top of that he knew that the unit being installed was undersized, but never bothered to tell me, so now I have to replace the brand new unit with a larger unit and of course it is out of pocket for me. He is negligent and should be avoided at all cost. If you get him as your contractor for any Home warranty, demand a different contractor based on reviews.
I have all good to say about Moad Services. My husband called because our house wasnt cooling properly and since they were in the area, they stopped in at the end of day (I anticipated waiting several days due to the hot weather). They had it taken care of quickly and reasonably priced. I am grateful. Thank you Mark and Rob!
Rude on the phone. Installed a water heater improperly which caused it to leak. I found out that American Home Shield Warranty doesnt use MOAD services anymore. No wonder why. So instead of my family and I waiting a week to have our hot water heater replaced, I called a local trusted Plummer who replaced it at a reasonable cost because I dont have time to wait around. The company I called to correct MOADS failure to install correctly was able to come out same day and replace my water heater. Thank gosh for good local companys. So good reidense to MOAD services. I would never let them in your home to do anything. Just take a look around at all their bad reviews. I say that MOAD services definitely earned the bad reviews. I dont normally let reviews but I just have to warn others. Dont go with MOAD services.
I wouldnt trust this company. The first day I was told they would arrive around 10. 11:45 and they still didnt show so I had to cancel as I had an appointment. I rescheduled for the next day from 12 to 2, they showed up at 3. I got a call from the office girl at 2:30 claiming the tech had been trying to get ahold of me for half an hour which was just false. I had only gotten a call 10 minutes earlier letting me know the tech was still 20 minutes away. They refused to listen to me about the issues and they are a very poor company. I wouldnt trust these people to replace a light bulb.
Called today before a holiday weekend with a broken AC and its HOT! Moad services was working late to get everyone taken care of before the holiday and came to my house at 8:30pm and got my AC running right away! Im so thankful that I wont have to go through this weekend without my AC. Thank you Mark!
My father has the American home shield warranty and his furnace went out Feb 26, 2016. We are now on March 18, 2016 and he still has no new furnace. The owner of Moad came out with replacement part and found it was wrong part. He than reinstalled old unit back but hooked it up wrong. There was no heat and it could have caused a fire in the house. I would not call this place at all. They must be lowest paid contractor for American Home Shield because they American home shield wont send someone else. They have both left an elderly retired vet without heat for almost a month now. Freaking pathetic. Time to call the BBB on both companies.
If I could give them a zero, they would get it. American Home Shield Warranty sent them out. You would think they would look at reviews before hand. I told MOAD dispatch, that the unit was IN THE ATTIC, and a crawl space to get to it! They sent a 400 pound guy with bad knees and back, that said, oh I cant get up there... Then WHY the hell are you here?! Cant wait to see how long it takes to get a part. DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!
Mark is the owner of this company. I just got off the phone with Mark. This is after over 5 months of constant inconsistency. Mark is too large to fit into the areas of a home where furnaces are commonly installed. Because of his size, hes given himself permission to ignore aspects of installing a furnace. In our situation, he neglected to properly secure a flue pipe that resulted in carbon monoxide flowing throughout our home, most notably into our infant sons bedroom. Of course this all happened on a day where Mark rested his enormous self onto my stair case (because he couldnt make it up the whole way) and looked at my wife and I as she held our son and assured us that we were in good hands. During the installation process, Mark also broke our whole home humidifier. I know this because that same night, I woke up to nearly an inch of water in my basement. The humidifier, formally properly secured, was taped onto the new furnace with the same industrial tape that Mark had used all over the rest of the machinery. Upon revealing this to Mark, in addition to the carbon monoxide issue, he suggested calling the warranty company about our broken humidifier. Which we did. And they responded to us letting us know they have contacted Mark to inform him that he is INDEED to blame for the broken humidifier. When I called him just now, he laughed at me, and said not our problem and hung up on me. I called their office directly and got him on the phone again where he said that thing was already broken. Whether you have a warranty or not, I can assure you that allowing MOAD SERVICES into your home will only add to your expenses in the long run. It will also provide you with lost hope for trying to see the better in people as you will be astonished at this mans blatant disregard for human decency.
One star for now. We have a home warranty also. Called about the dryer making a lot of noise when running. A few of our family and friends that know more about his stuff then we do, said it is probably a bearing. So we call call the warranty place, they send Moad. The owner Mark. My girlfriend is here. He listens to it and say it will probably be replaced, he said the cost will be more than a new washer. He tells her that he will call her Monday with the outcome. Its Thursday, six days no word yet.So they are getting one star, till I hear back from them.I also think we should go and complain to the home warranty people, not only about him, but obviously they like that he denies claims and collects the service fee.
Do NOT use MOAD Services!!!!!! They shouldnt get any starts, but I was unable to post this review without clicking on a star. These people are unprofessional, they lied, and wanted to charge us for work that didnt even need to be completed. They installed an outside air conditioner until that was not compatible with our inside. This caused MAJOR problems and now has dissolved the warranty. Had to have a second opinion and they confirmed MOADS work was negligent and now is costing us thousands of extra dollars to fix. We are actually taking this company to Small Claims Court.
The worst service possible. American Home shield sent these people to me. 2 weeks later having the same problems they claimed they fix with my air conditioning unit. Never choose these people.
If I could give them a Negative 10 they would receive it. They dont even deserve a 1. Horrible, rip offs, do not use them.
These guys are borderline murders. Mark who has been mentioned in other posts as the heavy set man was my contractor sent by American Home Shield. I feel bad for the guy and hope he seeks professional help for his health. I am a big guy and he made me look small. My hot water heater went out Monday and they were not able to come till Friday. American home said they are my only option. I asked if it is ok to continue to use the water heater even though every hour or so it would trip the breaker and they said yes.So I took work off Friday so I can be here when they arrived. They were over a hour late. I left calls with the office to check the status and no one ever returned them. When he arrived he was a nice gentlemen and very polite. He blamed the delay on his last client and that happens. However a phone call would of been great.I took him down to the basement to show him the water heater and I thought he would have a heart atack with how he was breathing. He hooked a volt meter to the top and verified it was not pulling more then 30 amps then condemned the hot water heater. Not checking anything else. He said that American home warranty would cover the new hot water heater but then starting rattling off all these new codes that needed met and other items that would not be covered. I asked him is he sure it is not something else that is wrong and if he could check anything else. He said there was nothing else to check and that he would be able to install the new one Tuesday. I asked him if it was safe to continue re-enabling the breaker to have hot water and he said sure was. After fighting with American home Shield about the additional costs, lack of trouble shooting and not have reliable hot water for over a week now they shrugged their shoulders. So I hired a another contractor that has done work for me in the past to come out and give me a second opinion. He too condemned the water heater but not by just looking at by opening up the panel and seeing water coming out touching the wires and causing a short. So basically Moad aka Mark was putting my family at risk every time we flipped the breaker back on we could of been electrocuted. American home warranty did not care. Their response was you are still alive what harm did it do.So instead of entrusting Moad to come back out to install the hot water heater and possible die in my house of a heart attack I decided to take the cash out which does not even cover the cost of a new hot water heater, but at least now I know it is done right with quality parts from a thorough contractor and faster then awaiting Moad.Becareful of them!!!!
Mark, Beth and their crew are amazing! Always quick to fix problems, works with pricing and as an added bonus, they are the sweetest people Ive ever dealt with on a business level!
I think one star is too many. I have a home warranty through American Home Shield. My ac was not blowing cold air, AHS sent MOAD Services to fix the problem. The tech showed up, a very tall, heavy set man (Mike or Mark) who immediately asked to use the bathroom. When he came out of the bathroom he said the toilet was clogged. When I looked, there was the biggest “POOP” I have ever seen in the toilet! He insisted that the “POOP” was there when he lifted the lid and it was not from him. (TRUST ME... it wasn’t there before he walked in the door. Something that size never came out of me) He went out to his truck, got a plunger and began chopping “it” up and forcing it down the drain.Once this process was done he moved on to attempting to fix the ac. Which, in itself was a fiasco... he didnt have the correct parts and had to go back to his shop three times and five hours later he informed me it was fixed but wasn’t covered by the warranty. When I looked at the invoice, he not only was charging me to fix the ac, but I was charged to unclog the toilet!!! When I questioned him about the toilet he got very upset and hostel.I paid the bill and got him out of my house asap. Never again!
ZERO stars. He installed a new furnace for me that was making odd noises, which he claimed were normal. The noises got worse, so I called another HVAC company. It turns out Moad did not exchange the orifice for natural gas (which comes on the furnace) for the one for propane (which is also provided). I have propane. When I called to tell him, he started screaming at me on the phone, and hung up. He said never to call him again, and he will not help me. After several service calls by the new HVAC company, they have determined that the new furnace was destroyed by being run with the wrong orifice. Now I need to purchase another furnace and pay to have it installed, as well as pay over $700 to the second HVAC company, and I am out the thousands I paid Moad. Stay away from this contractor, he is unprofessional and a liar.
Moad was sent to my home to replace our existing oil furnace through the American Home Shield warranty that was provided to us when we purchased our home. We were charged almost $700 for incidental charges of which the majority was for ductwork. I was led to believe they were going to improve the existing ductwork leading into the furnace to improve the air flow and dispersement throughout the home. When i went to the basement after they had left i realized this was all just to fit the existing ductwork to the new furnace. no improvements. They also left a mess in my basement of fiberglass, plastic and metal. I repeatedly asked them to ensure they hooked up the fan on the blower correctly so i can run it in manual mode without having heat/cool turned on. the technician assured me they did before he left. being the trusting person i am i waited until after they left to check it and it did not work. Now a few weeks ago when i went to turn my central air on for the first time, the blower in the furnace turned on but the outside a/c unit would not. I called my local hvac technician and ended up paying him another hundred dollars to fix the incorrect wiring by Moad services. he stated i was lucky that my heat even turned on and worked properly with how poorly/incorrectly they had things wired. Would not recommend them ever.
Appointments unavailable does not carry through
Owner, which is now the wife is a real gem!!! Needs customer service classes
An excellent service!
Jokers! Too much junk to The previous review before says they wouldnt trust these people to change a light bulb, I wouldnt trust them within a mile of your home.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT HIRE THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY WORK FOR YOU .IF THIS SAVES ONE PERSON FROM LOSING MONEY TO THEM THEN ITS WORTH THE 100 DOLLARS THAT I WAS RIPPED OFF BY THEM .VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL .IF THERE WAS A LOWER RATING THAN ONE THEY WOULD GET IT
