Rented a mini van from them. Employee noted scratches on hood. Said they were accounted for. Upon returning the vehicle the regional manager said they were filing a claim. When I pointed out that the scratches had been accounted for they told me the employee had been dismissed. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS! The manager said it was on me for not videotaping the check out. As if its the customer who is responsible for the truth not the what I now know is a SCAM business. Zero Stars

I tried to call this number several times today for several hours and all that happened was, they never picked up the phone ...then after sometime I was disconnected!! Not sure what has happened to Enterprise...this is not the same company I have worked with before!! !!

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this particular location. In January when my truck needed a considerable amount of work I was able to get a rental on the spot, then more recently 9/18 a Friday no less this branch was able to get me into a vehicle last minute when my truck needed transmission work. They were able to pick me up and drop me off, everything went smoothly.The staff has been friendly and more than accommodating, specifically the two managers of the office Nicole and Christina. Thank you, whenever I’m in need of another rental this will be my go to spot.

SCAM SCAM SCAM, they are SCAM masters be careful people dont rent from them, the insurance company rented me a car, enterprise gave me Ford Fusion full of issues and needs oil change, the representative told me that the guy who changed the oil forgot to change the sticker, I tried to return it, but he said they may not have other cars ..... one day i was driving it and the car got over heated, I returned the car to them, they didnt like it, instead of charging the insurance company they charged me $295 When I spoke to them the guy had the audacity to explain the hidden fees that i was never told about prior renting the car . SCAM stay away

Thank you Enterprise of Hackettstown for ruining my vacation. If I could give you zero stars I would. I am so disappointed with the service (or lack thereof) that I received at this location that I will never use Enterprise again for my business or personal travels and I will make sure to tell everyone how bad this location is.Over a month ago I reserved a midsize SUV Rav -4 or similar for a camping trip, picking up on the afternoon of 8/27. 45 minutes before I was set to pick up, the Hackettstown office called me to confirm that I was coming in. Of course, I responded. My reservation is for 4:30- I will be there then. OK we have you in for a Nissan Altima, said the cheery voice at the other end. I said thats not going to work. I reserved an SUV for a camping trip. I am leaving tomorrow early AM and need it tonight to pack it. Well we dont have any SUVs available they responded. I said wellll I reserved an SUV, so why dont you have one? Thats not going to work and my vacation hinges on me being able to get a SUV or minivan.I dont want to write a novel but she ended up calling around to find me an SUV. The only one available was in Phillipsburg. They would not honor the reservation price and were closing in 30 minutes ( I was 30 minutes away). In desperation, I rushed there and ended up with a smaller car for more money (ecosport- 1 class down from what I reserved and an absolute POS). It was $200 more than my original reservation AND the car ended up being a lemon. The phone chargers did not work and the passenger seatbelt was broken which i didnt realize until we were leaving and it was too late to switch cars (not that there were any anyway)..... So my passenger got the choice of sitting for 8 hours each way with a seatbelt that strangled her (tightened up so much she could not move, no she is not fat at all) or she could endanger her life by not wearing it.I cant fault the Phillipsburg people; they did their best and they found found me a car and did a FAVOR (their words) for the Hackettstown offices mistake. How do you take a reservation and not honor it and not call to confirm anything until 45 minutes before pick up??? I have used Enterprise before for work so its not like they didnt have my info available. At least if they called and gave me a heads up that they didnt have an SUV available I could have made other arrangements. But they waited until I was on my way to get the car to inform me there was an issue. I was in tears trying to get this sorted out and it was not sorted, in fact I feel utterly ripped off. Awful, Awful, customer service.

The customer service here was exemplary. I gave them 4 stars only because they have a limited selection of cars. I had to check in a week prior to my rental just to remind them that I did not want a minivan or a pickup truck. They did listen and honor my request - and for that, I commend them and recommend them!

To top it off, my insurance company had some administrative issues that impacted my rental coverage. Nicole and Christina went above and beyond by helping to call my insurance and advocating for me. I had a great experience renting from this branch again. I also rented a cargo van about 3 years ago and that experience was very easy and pleasant.This time around my rental wasn’t my choice, I had been involved in a car accident and had to go through insurance. When I came in they had all of my insurance information and it made the process extremely fast. I forgot the man’s name who helped me the first time around because my accident happened about a month ago but Terrence was so nice and made sure my experience with the rental was up to their expectations. I loved the car they set me up with, ironically it was a newer version of my car that was totaled in the accident. The car was very clean too which I really appreciated. They also offered rides to me both times and their employees were very nice to talk to on the phone and in person.

My husband (Seth) and I needed a last minute rental a few weeks ago after the rental agency we had reserved a car with closed before we got there. We called Enterprise and spoke to Kevin and he provided us with outstanding customer service! Despite closing in 20 minutes, he was very thorough and gave us a beautiful, brand new truck to drive at a great price! We really appreciated his friendliness and were really impressed with how quick, easy and efficient the process was. We are very happy with excellent service and approach Enterprise employees dealt on this rental. They deserved a 5 star but I only offered a 4 star as this is my second experience with them when they did not have the vehicle we requested for and had to settle for a very large or very smaller for the job.I would still come back to them and ask all my contacts to use them. Their policies have become much more consumer friendly and people at Hackettstown, NJ location are very nice, cooperative and understanding.Thanks again

It was a very poor experience dropping off my rental to this branch on November 19th. The representative tried to charge me five hundred dollars in damages, claiming that the car was in a parking accident. Be careful and thorough when you go to this location. Thankfully the representative at the original rental branch in Layfayette, NJ was able to solve the issues and smooth things over.

Rented from this location several times, and dropped the car off after one way trip. Every time has been great. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. When I needed ride home or pick up they were always timely and the drivers were friendly. When I got a car with wipers that werent effective they were quick to switch the car out for one that had new wipers. Id recommend them if youre looking for a rental in the area.

I reserved a full-sized car a week before my trip. When I went in to pick it up, the staff told me that my reserved car was already given to another customer and they only had SUVs and a pickup truck.I wanted a sedan since I was travelling a long distance. The staff did not want to call other Enterprise agencies to accommodate me. I was stuck and took a Ford Explorer.The reason given was that my car was to be picked up at noon and I arrived at 5. When I placed the reservation, they asked me when I was picking up my car. I told them that I had an appointment at 2 so I would be there either at noon or after 4. They said they would put down 12 noon just in case I came then.The Ford was comfortable to drive and that was good enough for my 3-star rating. Otherwise it would have been a 1-star rating.

He asked me what kind of car I wanted ... after that everything went easy. I needed the car longer than Expected and James was always very accommodating to make sure that I had a car.This location did a great job; I would Absolutely recommend everyone to Try this location before any other.

Staff was excellent and friendly, both the manager and assistant manager had great customer service. I needed a car or suv, but all they had was a pickup truck. While I enjoyed the truck it wasnt 100% covered by insurance. I also could not utilize my credit card benefit of primary renter car coverage. Their coverage was $20 a day and I needed this rental close to a month. I called and they told me all they could do was put me on their swap board and if a car or SUV became available they would call me. I called five different enterprises closest to this location and none of them had any cars/ or SUVs. Decided to return my rental and use rent-a-wreck in town they immediately had a car available for me and lowered the rental cost so I owed nothing and my card benefit of rental coverage could be utilized. I also considered hertz but rent-a-wreck got much better ratings and their customer service was fantastic. If you are looking for a rental on short notice consider alternatives to Enterprise.

So I thought until I returned the car and was hit with over $200 charge for tax, which should be included in the rate covered by the car insurance. They made money already since I had the car for almost the month otherwise it will be parked on their lot.

Have had the best experience at this enterprise. Was given the best rates on car rentals and the best of the best customer service was provided. Ryan was the person to help me. He was very attentive to what I needed and definitely provided the best suitable vehicle for my needs. If you want to rent a car I highly recommended Enterprise in Hackettstown, NJ. Mr. Maleko has been such a big help. Every time i go in to pick up my rental he is there by himself and is usually soaked with water from washing cars. Every employee in this location is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, but you probably are more interested in the cars and the price – both are also outstanding. They have a weekend deal that comes out to be $16 per day – how do they do it? I often get a ride to their office before renting and a ride home after the rental. I would never think of renting from anywhere else locally.

I live in AZ and have rented here twice in last two years visiting family in NJ. Choice of several fine vehicles, staff efficient, no pressure sales of the extras most of us refuse.Both returns were to Newark Airport and as busy as that location is they do their best to get you through the return hassle as quickly as possible. The recent return found a dent under the front bumper that was noted but ignored. I did not do it. I was not charged which was the right thing to do. I will continue to use Enterprise.

My local branch Rt 57 in Hackettstown NJ is the absolute best! I remember needing a car twice in an emergency situation and without hesitation in the midst of busy return time, they treated me with VIP status. The customer service is awesome.

The parking lot is really small and it can be tough to get in and out of this place as its on a very busy road and others are always trying to get in and out at the same time. The staff seem very friendly and helpful though. Its small so not always the best selection of cars and they can run out too, so book it in advance!

UPDATE: Enterprise reached out to me via Google reviews and Twitter. I sent them all the information regarding this incident. They passed this along to the Hackettstown location. Matt, the manager, contacted me in a day or two. We were able to work some things out. He was truly concerned with my customer satisfaction and keeping me as a valued (regular) Enterprise customer. I am pretty surprised with how Enterprise customer service reached out to me, listened to me, and actually put some things in motion to get a few things resolved. Thank you! (The issue was always more with West New York, NJ Enterprise, which has yet to be addressed) If you need a car in Hackettstown, Enterprise and Matt will take care of you!(Return location and Hackettstown manager corrected)Would give no stars if I could. Staff was super busy. Offered me an upgrade to a new Tahoe. It already had minor damage on the right front that I didnt notice on the quick walk around. It was a one way rental and the West New York, NJ staff decided to make some more money off of the transaction and went looking for damages. The damage in question was smaller than a golf ball. If I returned the vehicle to an airport there would have been ZERO charges for damages. I called the Hackettstown location several times to get them to look into it or confirm the damage was there before I started driving. Of course no one was ever in the office or would return my call in the weeks following the incident. Matt is the manager and again would not return my calls even though I left messages and asked to be called back. After West New York charged me $150 for damages. Once my insurance company got involved, the bill went up over $800. Hmmmm how did that happen? Money, money, money. Just got greedy and messed with the wrong guy! TERRIBLE experience! Rent from Hertz. They do a video walk around with you before you drive away. I will now take my own video on every single car I rent from here on out.

Another great rental experience, thanks to Adam, Amanda, Aaron, Nick and Mandy. I had an Ecoboost 4 CYL Mustang Premium Convertible for 13 days. I was only going to have it for 3 days but my truck was still in the shop, so Aaron and Nick set it up so I could keep the car through Monday. When Monday came, I needed it for a few more days and Adam worked that out for me. Thank you all, Ill be back!

Car was a stinking, stained, horrible mess. There was a sticker with a cigarette and a red line through it displayed on the dash clearly indicating a no smoking vehicle HOWEVER the previous drivers ignored the sticker and smoked their lungs out leaving me to drive a stale ashtray for 5 days. Im severely asthmatic and had to have the interior of the car cleaned as the leftover cigarette residue had an adverse affect on my breathing.All the seats were so stained I had to sit on a towel because I wasnt sure if my clothes would be stained from sitting on the upholstery AND I didnt know exactly what I was sitting on anyway... My children flat out refused to ride in the car because of the smell and the condition of the seats.The car was given to me with a half tank of gas. I thought it should be full but whatever...Lastly, I was charged a $50 deposit when I rented the vehicle which I was told would be refunded upon its return. I returned the car with a FULL tank of gas despite picking it up with only 1/2 tank, it was cleaner than it was when it was given to me, and there was zero damage. I asked the sales person if we were square and had him confirm no additional charges, and that my $50 would be refunded. He confirmed both so I thanked him and left.Not only was my $50 NOT refunded, I was charged an additional $40.89 for a damage waiver even after being told NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES would be applied. Essentially I wound up paying $90.89 just in case something happened to the car while I was driving it. Well clearly the car WAS NOT damaged when I returned it, so I called to see if that fee could be waived and they would not accomodate. Done... will not be renting from Enterprise again.

The vehicle provided was filthy. Dried, melted ice cream in the cup holders and on the seats. Dog hair everywhere and the windows were fingerprinted and dirty inside and out.The staff is consumed with checking the outside condition of the car but no obvious concern for the inside. Only 1/2 tank of gas at pick up.The car was rented 3 weeks in advance so there was no excuse for this condition.

On Sept 14 I got into such a bind when my car suddenly died in middle of a road..tow truck came and turned out it was my alternator that died...so tow truck dropped me off at Hackettstown enterprise and from the moment I walked in the door the manager Matt dizenzo was nothing short of amazingly helpful!! I had no reservation obviously so it made it a little tuf. It was a Friday night at 5pm at such a busy time and I told Matt what happened in more detail and he couldnt believe it. At that particular time he had nothing available as everything was due back within the hour and said can you hang out for like half hour or so until some cars come back and Ill definitely get you hooked up with a car asap. He was so incredibly helpful!!! So i sat and waited no problem and then about 45 min later he asks if I have a preference on vehicle and I said whatever you have available. He had a few options but gave me the cheapest rate with a mid sized car..He could have totally taken advantage and said he only has one vehicle available and its expensive but he didnt which thats amazing bc some ppl would do that. He was so nice and accomodating!! Then the next day my actual car was fixed faster than expected so I called Matt to tell him Id be coming but itd be around 130 and they close at 1 on Saturday so he said no problem just leave car and put keys in drop box and we will only charge you for 1 day. So i dropped my car back at enterprise and realized when i got back home thst i had accidentally left my registration and insurance card in the rental glove box and thought omg ur kidding! I figured i can just go back and get it but i locked the car and keys were put in drop box! So i immediately called and left a message and emailed Matt to pull it out of car before the next renter drives off with it. He emailed me back and said no problem he would get it for me. Now I had to figure out how to get it back bc of my work hours and enterprise office hours. I told Matt its goingto be a challenge to get there and actually asked a huge favor that if any of his drivers were going to be out near where I live for a pickup if he could put my registration and insurance card in my mailbox. He again said no problem and I got my stuff back. Matt and his staff are simply amazing and helpful especially in the situations!!! Thank you!!!

We have rented from the Enterprise Hackettstown, NJ location twice before. Our experience this time was good, but not perfect. The class of vehicle we had reserved was not available due to the vehicle having been assigned to us arriving back from the previous renter damaged. We were then upgraded to a minivan at no additional cost. This was okay. Despite the reduced gas mileage we expected from this vehicle on our 1200 mile planned trip, the additional space of the minivan was handy. The downside of the rental was that Hackettstown Enterprises built-in commercial vacuum cleaner in their service bay was broken and we had to take the minivan with cracker bits and cookie crumbs all over the minivans back seat and floor areas. We had to vacuum the vehicle interior ourselves because we knew we would have passengers dressed in good clothing riding with us once we reached our destination. We were compensated for the dirty interior by Enterprise waiving the requirement to return the vehicle with the same amount of gasoline that existed at the beginning of the rental period. This compensation amounted to about $8 savings (or payment to us) for our having to vacuum our own rental vehicle. The lesson for Enterprise: Equip your rental locations with backup vacuum cleaners, even if they have to be a cheapie $60 shop-vac from the local home improvement big box store. All in all, Enterprise is okay and competitively priced. Will rent from Hackettstown Enterprise again when the occasion arises.

While ego I was in need of a rental car, a few weeks ego one of the persons that work there told me that I can get special price 50 a day, so when the time came that I need the car I went there, after about an hour they told me that we have to go to another location to pick up the car, when I arrive to the hackettstown and they finish the paper work I noticed that they were charging me double when I told them about the 50 a day they said that this was the best price, and if I want they can drop 20 dollars, and I refuse since this was not what I was told before...my advice stay away from them
