Our experience with Peterson Tax Service was extremely positive. It was easy to see that not all tax preparers are created equal. The difference comes down to the end result. If you walk away after the process with the confidence that every aspect of your personal situation, in regards to taxes, was thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to determine the final outcome, it translates into a feeling of accomplishment. If the new tax laws are presented to you in a manner that is clear and concise, accompanied by checking for understanding, you feel an appreciation for the ‘teaching moment’ that benefits you in future endeavors. If you are greeted warmly with a caring attitude and a genuine persona that exudes extreme confidence in their chosen profession, it’s another mark on the checklist. This is Sally posting this review. I went to Peterson’s because I needed help. I had tried to file my own taxes and neglected to file my state taxes for ahem...a few years. Vicky was not judgmental, she listened closely, assuaged my fears, and filed several years of back state taxes as well as re-filing a few years of federal taxes I’d done incorrectly, all within a few days.I can’t express how much anxiety I’d been feeling. I can’t stress enough how helpful, friendly and confident she was. When we did the final paperwork it was as though a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders, AND the many thousands I thought I’d owe will end up being a wash-in other words, I’ve been making payments on taxes I actually don’t owe, and thanks to her, I may even get money back.And the price? I was pleasantly surprised by the cost of her services. I did pay a national company last year, for filing only my 2017 taxes. She charged me less for filing multiple years of back tax returns than that company did for one year, with one job, one dependant, and no property or write offs.I thanked her profusely, and told her I would never use anyone else, and I mean every word.If you live near Gresham, please consider supporting this local, honest business. You won’t regret it.

Peterson Tax Service has prepared our taxes for many years. We have had no difficulty reaching them by phone to answer questions or to make an appointment. Cannot imagine anyone more friendly and courteous, more than willing to do the extra small details that make for good service.Holly and Vickie not only do our taxes, but my children now go to them for their tax work also. Without hesitation I would highly recommend their tax service.

CLIENTS BEWARE!!! I have never experienced such HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL customer service in my life. Holly agreed to do our taxes early February of this year. I dropped off all our paperwork to their office on February 14th, 2020. I would periodically check in with her via email and phone to make sure she was still ON TRACK and able to complete everything by the deadline of July 15th. All I got during that time were a total of TWO email responses from her saying YES she can still do the service. She kept saying she would call me back, but never did - I got a full VM box every time I called. 5 months went by with the July 15th deadline approaching and I am reaching out, no response. I get a call from her secretary today (July 16th) saying that Holly is overwhelmed by our taxes and that we need to find another accountant. We are now faced with a HUGE fine/penalty because she took on work that she refused to complete. PLEASE STOP TAKING ON WORK THAT YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF COMPLETING - and learn to communicate with clients.

I have used Peterson tax service for many years & I really enjoy their professional, knowledgeable and very friendly staff. A special shout out to Holly for also helping me find my dream house- I couldn’t have done it without her- she’s great at accounting and also a darn good real estate agent. Thanks so much Holly! Poor communication, terrible customer service, would NOT recommend.

Called on March 28th and asked for a CPA to handle a simple Oregon tax form for a house closing. I was assured by the receptionist, two times, that Holly would call me back Friday night or Saturday AM. Well, Saturday afternoon on March 30th I had to call, because no one called me. Well, Holly was busy and she would call me. She did, the call was dropped, she never called back, I had to call again. Oh, she was with a client and she would call me back. Once again, that DID NOT happen. It is Monday morning and crickets. If this is your version of customer service, I pitty your clients. I owned a business for 30 years, it was 30 years continuous because of customer service, good luck on your long term hopes. I wonder if they have CPA customer service courses, please sign Holly up ASAP, she needs it. Wow, here you go, as a follow up. I must apologize to Holly, she did call me back, yes she sure did. She called me back April 5th at 4:31 PM. What a joke! She said she was busy. From March 30th til April 5th, that is some kind of service. Maybe it had to do with someone reading their Google Review. Once again, customer service training, sign her up, quickly.

I have had these folks prepare my taxes for 7 years. They are fast, efficient, and accurate. Give em a shot.
