Ok I hate writing a bad review but Im a little upset after my wife took her Ford Explorer to this shop. The manager was very nice and very polite on the phone. The brakes were causing the vehicle to act weird when braking hard. I wanted an inspection done to see what was wrong. The wanted to charge me around $980 for 4 rotors and the brake pads front and rear. He said the rotors were not able to be turned and needed replaced. So I had a mechanic look at everything he said the front rotors could have been turned and the rears were fine. I bought AC Delco rotors for the front and Bosch pads for $98. Now the brakes work awesome. Im really angry that I feel like these people are deceiving folks to get things fixed that dont need fixed. It literally took my friend less than 1 hour to do the brakes. I mean a dishonest mechanic is the worst. Plus I paid $29.99 for the inspection. UT now I can NEVER trust Midas again
They werent what we were looking for. I think everyone should know that Midas does not supply tires. They specialize in brakes and vehicle maintenance other than tires. Les swab friends is right down the street.
Best experience ever!! And, they know what an appointment is...unlike the local Ford dealership!!
Awesome as always. super nice, honest, and excellent work.
I bought a set of new tires one of them was liking air,,, I called them and they scheduled me the following week, I brought the car they said they fixed it,, but it got worse,, called them again, they still couldnt fixed it,,I called them the 3rd time and they schedule me in five days later,,,I took my car to less schawab they fix the problem, thank you less schawab,,, (I wasted a lot of money putting air in my car every 3 to 4 days for a month a half,,plus 65 dollar less schawab charge me) I hope I can get my money back the I spent to get my tires fix
Cant say this was a bad experience nor a good experience. As I arrived the manager checking me in made a comment about being the 4pm appointment to me it came off like he was annoyed a scheduled their latest appointment. The check-in process was pretty slow and he wasnt able to find what kind of oil to use on my car. ( I drive a camry, pretty basic) Then told me it would be 45min to an hour. I decided to walk across the street to kill some time. After about 40min I walked back over. I went and sat inside the office which he didnt realize I had come back in. The phone rang and he was like oh geez and seemed annoyed that someone was calling 20min before close. He then calls me to tell me my car is ready as I am sitting in the lobby. I told him I am already there and he walks up front. Another customer also shows up and they start talking about political views etc. I dont feel those things should be discussed at the work place. Although it didnt bother me I could see other people being uncomfortable with it. He then tell me I need to replace my engine and cabin filter and gives me a price. I deny the services at this time no big deal. After checking out the guys finished up my car and pull it out. Upon looking over my inspection sheet later it appears my cars brakes really need attention. Well why was that not mentioned to me when I was checking out? Not sure I would come here again and I really do feel like the service lacked.
Very professional business. Respond in a timely manner and transparent. Prices were very fair. Thank you Midas you guys were great!
AVOID. THIS. PLACE.It is incredible to me looking back that I ever thought to leave 3 stars or higher on this establishment.1st visit: Came in with a flat. They fixed, topped up oil, very easy, very cheap, though it was immediately concerning to me that they seemed to have no dedicated receptionist as it was one guy taking/answering calls in the back while also trying to man the front desk, and near close the place was packed full of people waiting to pick up their cars. Thought maybe they just had someone out sick/quarantine.2nd visit: Seeing as the value was good last time despite everything, figured Id give them another chance. Brought in vehicle cuz of a consistent noise in engine, not doing any harm but just bothersome to drive with. While investigating the issue, they found some other problems that needed fixing, which I agreed to reluctantly, assuming it was part of the process to fix my issue.3rd visit: Turns out it was not, and in prioritizing other things they completely neglected to fix the original issue Id brought it in for, so I brought it back for a more thorough investigation (at this point I was an idiot not to just take it to another mechanic). The lead guy assured me over the phone they were open enough to take care of it, which proved blatantly untrue. After 3 days of no progress made on the issue (evidenced by my having to continually call in and check-up since they make literally no effort whatsoever to call me directly as to updates, and refused to take my email even after trying to say at one point that the phone number I provided wasnt allowing them to leave voicemails - again untrue as no calls were ever even received), AND my reminders that I needed this car for work the next day (something Id made clear from the outset before even making the initial appointment), they reveal that through some mishap, the transmission died! And that they dont service transmissions! No problems with transmission prior to this AT ALL, so I can only conclude it was something they did or neglected to do. So now Im stuck with potentially thousands of dollars in repairing or replacing the transmission, hopefully at least through a different set of more competent mechanics elsewhere, but just an enormous, stressful, preventable fiasco either way. Cannot believe how horribly and unprofessionally this was handled.tl;dr Dont take your car in here for anything beyond minor issues.
We moved to Gresham about 3 years ago. We first lived less than a mile away from Midas, which made it a convenient location to take our car. Our first experience was absolutely great. We paid $50 when we expected to pay close to $100, based on past experience at other shops. Since then, weve taken our vehicles in a handful of times. A few times, Midas just inspected the car, looking for noises we reported, for example. Our latest experience came after taking the car to a different shop to have the front end inspected. The other shop wrote up a work order for almost $2000 of parts and labor. We knew they were just looking to scare us into the repairs. The sad thing is, we took it in there for specific work, which we ultimately decided not to entrust to them. SO, we drove back over to our pals at Midas. They put the car on the lift and called us within a couple of hours to report that, aside from the one repair we had already identified needed done, there was nothing else to worry about in the front end. Of course, they knew nothing about our trip to the other shop.Bottom line, based on several experiences, Midas doesnt try to scare you into repairs you dont need. They provide fast service at very fair prices (probably the best around), treat you like an intelligent person when they talk to you, and perform repairs you can trust.I dont know why wed ever go anywhere else again.
I went in as a first time customer, I ascertained all the info for my appointment and had it set by the next day. (By email)I was given a certain time for my appointment and when I realized I wasn’t going to be able to make it I called and rescheduled. The clerk on the phone told me that it wouldn’t be a problem and moved it up no hassle. When I showed up I was pleased to be greeted with a smile and was explained the procedures that were be going to be done. He explained what and how long it would take. The team doing the work seemed to be on point. Super efficient and had my car inspected and finished very quickly.Thank you to Steven and the team that was there. Highly recommended.Great service and conversation.
Great experience. They are the kindest people I have met while getting my explorer serviced . Thank you all, Margsret Auffert
Dont go there they will rip you off after you buy the lifetime waranty on brake pads, they will tell you that your bolts are bad and they need to be replaced and you will get ripped off
They said I needed a master cylinder, pads, my rotors re serviced and the brake lines flushed. I paid a thousand bucks and a month later the brakes failed and I was almost in an accident. I went to a midas down the street and they said I had air in my lines and said theyd fixed it. My brakes are loose feeling and now I have to take it somewhere else. Thanks for nothing Gresham Oregon and Lakewood Washington Midas. A thousand dollars for a deathtrap.
Fast oil change. Friendly staff.
Good service. Reasonable prices.
Words cant really describe how happy I was after taking my car to Midas.... Grayson the manager made me feel welcome and reassured that they wont gouge me. My car was a simple fix and they didnt charge over $100 for the diagnosis...I was so relieved it was so affordable and done in under an hour! The coffee and conversation was great too! I will definitely be returning for all my vehicles 😊!
I had them replace my 2 front shocks which they didnt in the 5 hours they had my vehicle cause they were to worried about other peoples cars and they managed to break one of my sway bar end links i will never go there again
Hopefully Steven was just part-time, if so I would definitely suggest they get a service manager rolling, someone who can divide and utilize their time. My gal and I set for 25 minutes while he answered phones, and we had a scheduled appointment!Write a business for better than 30 years, and that is totally unacceptable to me!On an upside, they seem to be very honest and upfront. That weighs a lot in my book!!
Reasonable prices, good work. While I was waiting, a man came in because his car was smoking. It was an easy fix and Midas fixed it for no charge. Quality people!
Thank you so much Grayson! You were a breath of fresh air, over the phone and in person. You were so kind & friendly which totally made my day! I love people like you! Ive been bringing my car here for the last year to get oil changes & an alignment. The service I received today just solidified the fact that I will continue to bring my car here in the future and definitely recommend you to anyone that could use your services. Thanks again and God bless!
I had an issue with my battery connector. On a very busy Saturday, Rick, the manager, took time out of the day to help me, without an appointment, found the part I needed, and fixed it for me within 15 minutes. His customer service was amazing and I will definitely return here when I need help with my car in the future.
I didnt actually buy anything from them but man they were super friendly.
The tech jerred is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The service was amazing and my Honda hasnt run this good since I bought it.
Ive been going to Midas for over 10 years and have always had great service. The mechanics they have there are very efficient and know exactly what they are doing in all aspects of Automotive repairs and service would definitely recommend this place before others.
Went with. Code p2004 thught it was going to be expensive technician found broken vacum line fixed for labor ....69 cents for part AWESOME
The guys are informative and really know what they are doing. Personable and offer many free services I trust midas and will always take my car there for repairs!. Thanks Joseph for the great job.
I lost my brakes on the freeway outside of Portland in heavy traffic. I was heading east and had a long way to go. Turned out to be my wheel bearing that blew. Even though they were swamped, Steven went out of his way to get me back on the road quickly. I am in a power wheelchair and options are limited when I do not have my van. I was so impressed with the guys who helped me they were courteous and efficient. Thank you again!
They fixed my car!!!
Great service. Much faster than I was expecting.
Got estimate then went to les Schwab estimate was way different better at Schwab and different parts were needed was loyal at first but now will never go back
These guys were more than great. Had grand kids already to go camping & boom needed something fixed, had called another location of same biz & they quoted me $200 dollars more than this store did. These guys fit me in & got it done in 1 hr. They were very kind also. Thanks guys..
Great service and great prices. I will definitely be coming back for any future service needs.
Very expensive, and very long wait times.
2 hours before they closed, they had no problem in diagnosing my car to figure out why the engine was shutting off, and fixing the problem. They gave me amazing, friendly service, and were very up front about what things were going to cost before hand. They charged $30 less for diagnostics than all the other places I called who were charging $120 or more. I will be back.
Quick and effective. Excellent customer service, too.
The manager assistant manager and the tech. Were all very friendly. By far the prices they charge compared to all the other shops is by far the cheapest in town with the service you deserve. The other shops were asking 200-300 more. They put my custom exhaust on in less than a hour. A lot of other shops said about a hour and thirty minutes.
I was able to get in for a brake repair on a Friday afternoon. They do a great job and are very friendly.
This place 100% recommended, honest people and great service at affordable prices. Thank you guys u are all the best! Will be a returning customer.
Full transparency, I didnt have a great experience here. Midas misdiagnosed my car a couple times while I was there and we ended up leaving on bad terms. That scenario (which is complicated and Ill omit for the sake of length here) really upset me and shook my trust in the company but I got a phone call from the owner a few days later and he was very apologetic for what had happened, the manager that dealt with my car also sent me an apology for the fiasco. They assured me that what had happened wasnt intentional or malicious but an honest mistake and at the end of the day, regardless if thats true or not or what had occurred, they went the extra mile to try to make it right, correct their mistake and build back trust between business and customer, which I appreciated. So Im here improving my review to reflect my appreciation.
My wife and I bought a used truck from the local auction yard with a brake issue and the folks at this Midas went above and beyond when it came to fixing our brakes. They searched out a great deal on the parts that we needed and the customer service was excellent!!!!!! I would highly recommend this Midas branch to any and everyone!!!!! A+++++++++ service, fast and friendly as well :)
I have been coming to this shop for years. They have always been fast and friendly and always get great service i send friends and family to see them all the time. This is a very trust worthy and honest shop.
I have been taking my vehicles to Gresham Midas for over a decade. I never had problems until recently. The staff there has degraded horribly. My last two visits ended in a horrible experience. The first was a simple oil change where the new kid left my oil cap off and I spent a good two hours cleaning it off my engine bay. I was understanding and gave them the benefit of the doubt, so I returned a second time for a clutch pedal install. My car is a rotary and HAS TO BE WARMED UP before you shut it off or it will flood.. I left STERN instructions on this with TWO people.. When I came to pick it up, they flooded it. I find it very insulting that for the rates we pay mechanics, they just ignore you like you dont understand your own vehicle. I now do most of my own work, and if needed I have found a new mechanic who actually listens.
WOW! This is the kind of experience you hope for. Got our car in ASAP. Needed some welding on exhaust. Expected a huge bill (shop rate, blah blah blah) but got a VERY pleasant surprise. Manager Joseph Hill called me within an hour to let me know the car was done. And the cost...? Like HALF of what I thought bottom dollar would be -- and nowhere near the kick in the pants another shop may have charged. Fast. Professional. Reasonable price. Give them a call with your next auto repair.
James the manager of this location is a great guy, and runs an amazing team!
Weve been a Midas customer for alot of years. We get good service for both of our cars. No matter what you need tires, oil changes, mechanical they can help you. If not they will let you know who can do what they cant. Believe me, there isnt much they cant do!
Fast friendly service. Knowledgeable and nice staff.
I received very quick service on a light that was out and that particular fix was free! Great customer service. I will definitely be going back.
I had a 10 o clock appointment and they were not ready for me as usual I have no complaints with there work mostly there scheduling
Steven at the Gresham’s Midas is amazing he found issues my car was having and called me to talk to me about getting it all fixed and now my car runs and drives like a new car thank you Steven you rock
Been going there forever. Great team there and knowledgeable.
Ive been going to Midas for years and Ive never had any problems with them. They always do a great job.👍
Service has improved 100%. First time I was shone exactly what repairs I neededbat this shop. What a game changer. Loved the interaction!
I highly recommend this Midas! I have never had any problems, I went to them for tire services and minor replacements. Les Schwab lies in their commercials, they tried to tell me I badly needed brake pads when they were only a year old, this was 4 years ago, no problems with my brake system. Fire Stone is a scam as well, they tried to say my check engine light fix would cost $2,500, a muffler shop did the job for $300. I am no longer in the Gresham area, Im looking for an oil change, I want to come back to this Midas, given that it is hard to find a trustworthy shop. In Cali, a shop told me to fix my heater would cost $350, another shop fixed it for $35. Jiffy Lube in Gresham sold me on an expensive oil change given the age of my car, and said it would be good for 1 year, wouldnt need another oil change for 1 year, 6 months later (for the first time in 17 years) my oil light came on, lying bastards!
Grayson was awesome. He went above and beyond to make sure that my car was ready to go when promised, Ill will definitely be back.😀😀😀
Great service fast and honest people. The only guys in town that were able to help me with tires. Will always go back there.
Fast friendly service. Knowledgeable staff
Great experience. Sam took great and quick care of our truck and gave us a bunch of great recommendations on places to stay and things to do since we are just passing through town.
Called after another local shop baited me with a low bid and then jacked it up sky high. Talked to Chuck. I asked if he could get it in same day, and he within 10 minutes I was there. He gave me an estimate over the phone as I was driving, and it was within 25.00 of the actual price. Chuck even drove me home and picked me up in his own truck. I had an overall great experience.
I just bought a used 93 van and one morning I thought I had a leaking brake caliper, too tight a fan belt, and a scary engine vibration...not to mention rattling from everywhere else! They put the old gal up in the bay and found a leaking front main seal that requires the dealership to fix. Brakes were all fine. Belt checked out. And the rattling was just age. Same as me. They kindly didnt charge me a dime. Thats why I go to Midas.
Completely trust the skill and honesty of these guys. Fair prices
Great Shop! Guys know what they are doing and dont pressure you for repairs, will return!
After being jerked around by 5 or 6 of the big corporate backed tire retailers in Gresham I csllca Midas to confirm they did tires.. told em my situation. .they were eager to help.. Les schwab tried and have up, nolans tried to scan me. .Midas came through . .newly earned loyal customer.. thanks fellas
My husband and I were so happy to get such fantastic customer service from Joshua, Grayson, and their coworkers when we went in for new tires and an oil change. They were corteous and mindful of our time. They were very willing to go the extra mile to make us feel like valued people! Thanks guys! We will be coming back!
Very knowledgable for trouble shooting my wheel noise during driving. Spot exact the root cause and fixed the problem. Surprise it is so quiet and available without and waiting.
Grayson helped me and he was very personable.I had a very good experience.
Went in about 2 weeks ago to have turn signal sockets replaced(as well as have NEW LED lights installed), as was told on previous visit that sockets were a bit corroded(this is on a 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air). Mechanic told me the sockets I had were for the rear, not the front. Told him okay, just put light housings back together and I would try to the CORRECT sockets. While mechanic was working on something else, shop manager came out and STRIPPED the wires on the LED lights and then pulled the original sockets out of the housing(these turn signal housings are one solid piece--the sockets ARENT supposed to come out). Went back in today to try and get them to repair the damage they had done to my classic car and after telling the manager I didnt like the damage he had already done to my car, I was told that he was going to do things his way and NOT the way I wanted things done.A few months ago I had been told by the mechanic that when pulling the plugs to put headers on the engine he had noticed plugs were burnt. He had mentioned to the manager this and was told to put the burnt plugs back in instead of changing them. I had contacted the owner of this facility and was told that the manager was in charge, and IF I didnt like it I could go elsewhere, which is what I ended up doing.BEWARE this place lest they screw up your vehicle. Also when they changed the burnt plugs(at my request when the manager was off)) I was charged $79.92 for 8 plugs that maybe cost them $18.00 if that.
NOT OPEN IN BUSINESS DAY ..LOOKS LIKD PERMANENTLY CLOSED
Vary good service I received here would com back again
Honest, willing to help you out.Nice, helpful.
Disappointing and Expensive! I went in for new struts. After the struts were installed it was noticed on the test drive that the front end was vibrating badly. The assistant manager told me that sometimes they get in a hurry and don’t support the front end properly and that I needed new axles. They ordered aftermarket axles and installed them and said the problem was fixed. They did not charge me for the axles which indicates to me that Midas knew they were the cause of the vibration problem. I drove home and immediately noticed the vibration was still there. A car that had always run very smoothly was now running very uneven. I made another appointment with Midas for later that week. Before I brought it back in for the second appointment, I did some research and found out that aftermarket axles for my vehicle did not work, but that it needed genuine Honda axles. When I brought it back in the second time, I told the manager what I had found out about the axles and he told me they were too expensive. He had other axles that were “the same axles” Honda uses. After a few hours I received a call from Midas that after putting on “the same axles” that Honda uses, the vibration was still there and they were stumped and could not figure out what was causing the vibration and to take it to the Honda dealership. Midas did not charge me for this second set of axles either. I called Honda for an appointment but they were booked three weeks out due to a recall, and since I did not want to drive the car with the vibration for that long figuring it couldn’t be good for the car, I called a place that specializes in Hondas. Over the phone I told the Manager of the Honda shop the long Midas saga and he immediately diagnosed it as an axle problem and that after 20+ years of working on Hondas he has learned that aftermarket axles do not work on my vehicle. Similar to what my research had yielded. He ordered two new genuine Honda axles and told me they would be in in a couple of days. A couple of days later, I dropped off my vehicle, he put them on, and problem solved. I called Midas to let them know what had solved the problem so that the next customer would not have to endure a similar situation. There was no apology from the Manager, just a “well, I am glad you got it fixed”. I think a shop with any integrity would have either offered to pay for the repair bill at the other shop or at a minimum, refund me the $540 for the installation of the struts that caused the problem with the axles in the first place. In the end, it ended up costing me over $1,500 for a pair of struts. Disappointing and expensive experience.
Guy name bob was really rude
Checked my exhaust system free of charge; even took the car for a test drive. Nice, friendly people too.
Dishonest. Came in needing new brake pads only, they called to confirm that, then called back saying they needed to change one caliper and jumped the price up to 280 instead of 150. I told them Les Schwab quoted me 266 to replace both calipers and turn the rotors, they didnt want to believe me and proceeded to bad mouth the quality of parts at Lee Schwab. I took it to Les Schwab and they told me my calipers were fine and dont need to be changed at all. Overall they are very unprofessional and I would never give them my business again.
Very helpful fast and friendly
Rick was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Good shop. Friendly helpful people.
Received an estimate over the phone after giving my vehicle make and model. Set up an appointment and when i arrived the $70 estimate jumped to $300. They said they have to look at the vehicles first......I guess they dont have much experience nor a computers to figure out a close estimate for a simple shock install job. They totally wasted my time and baited me in!! The Manager Chuck was rude and lacked customer service skills. On top of that I had to wait 30 minutes beyond my appointment time just to be told price was higher then quoted over the phone. I walked out and went elsewhere. Inexperienced monkeys in the Garage and in the office. Midas is McDonalds quality service for the automobile......stay away from Midas.
Awesome guys and they do great work.
Honest and a bargain. I called to get a quote on new rotors and pads on the front of my lexus LS460. It was pulsing and Id already made the used car dealer turn them, so I insisted that I needed new rotors without having them checked out.I was sure I had the touring package and I said so, which got me a quote for dual vented special rotors. It was about $100 less than the Les Schwab quote so I dropped it off in the morning. I called before lunch to make sure it would be ready, and they told me it would, and even better, that when they saw my rotors they knew it wasnt the expensive ones, so they returned the spendy rotors and got the right ones (still finished the car by lunch). My bill was over $100 bucks less than the quote, and I never would have known or cared if they just stuck to the price I already agreed to. Thats integrity, and a great deal.Im now a loyal customer and I will go nowhere else for any service they provide (unless its a warranty thing).
Came in only to fix my brakes and rotors, these idiots give me a free inspection, but watching them try to put my car up on the jack and take the tired off is a joke, are they all new? They were so sloppy and aggressive they BROKE MY REAR CALIBUR and then change my original quote from 250 to 600!! 600 for brakes?!?! When I told them to put my car back together he said he wouldnt give me my car back or even start putting it together until a tow truck gets here. The worst part is they BROKE THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE HOOD. Seriously? I am going to persue this matter further and take whatever action I can, I want to see cameras this is NOT okay. They wont even pay the tow truck fee.
Good service techs, but can be slow. Make sure you make an appointment.
They did what they were supposed to do.
Pricey. But delivered what they said for the cost they promised.
Youll have to have your auto checked over after service is done here.
Very through 😁
Good service
In and out!
