The transmission replacement, and other work was completed ahead of schedule. Car runs with no problem now. Patty keep me updated on part delivery and completion of work. I would use this shop again. Thanks
Decided not to use, every other transmission shop I talked to would give me a quote for a rebuild. They wont tell you a number until you bring your vehicle to them. Even when you flat out ask how much for a transmission rebuild the say bring it down so we can check it out first if its a service you provide you should be able to provide a quote period.
I came her for a transmission fluid flush for the 1st time and left completely satisfied. The price was affordable and the owner was very understanding kind. Will definitely be back!
I came to this location because I thought I was having a transmission issue was told that I was having an issue with my rear differential this location changed out my rear differential but gave me a used bad rear differential I now have a leak on my right rear side and have tried to communicate with the location many and nobody picks up the phone at this location I came today and the date is August 3rd I came to this location at 4:52 p.m. the location has changed its closing hours to 5:00 p.m. the location was already closed at 4:52 everybody was gone and there was no employees in the area very unprofessional workplace very unprofessional work ethic I am very disappointed at the services that I have received and I would recommend nobody take their vehicle to this location also they never connected my parking brake when they had to swap out my axle I paid over $2,000 to have a parking brake that is still not connected on my vehicle when you are driving a truck and hook it up to a trailer it is really crucial to have a parking brake engaged when you are on a slope this now makes a danger and a hazard for my vehicle

I had warranty work performed at the Gresham Aamco on a rebuilt transmission installed by another Aamco shop. I learned when I dropped the vehicle that technically only the parts were covered by the warranty. Patty, the owner of the shop is great, and because of a variety of circumstances, she covered the cost of labor, saying her philosophy is that sometimes its easiest just to take care of people. I would certainly take my vehicle to them for other work if I needed in the future. I only which more businesses had the same philosophy as Patty.

Called them multiple times and nobody answered. I had to drive there myself to actually speak to someone.
My son took his vehicle to this shop to have it fixed because they said they offer free financing for 12 months. It took a couple weeks for them to even look at the truck and at first they said it would be $600 to fix. Then they came back later and said it would be $1000 to fix. My husband asked if that was out the door and they said yes. We had them send over the financing to us to look at what our son would be signing and in the financing it said $1600, which we called them on that and they said it was the $600 plus the $1000. My husband told them that is not what out the door means. We also looked at the financing and they wanted to charge my son 192% interest and that he had to pay the interest and if it was all paid off within 6 months then they would refund the interest, which none of that was mentioned at the beginning. They also said that if we wanted to pick it up and not get it fixed that it was in pieces and we would have to pick up as is. We didnt let our son finance it and paid for it in full. The repair only lasted a week and now the truck is not running. I would rate them 0 stars if that was possible.
I’ve had a lot of problems with my car, and gone to many place to try and get them fixed. James was super helpful and provided the best experience I’ve ever had in a car shop. I never felt pressured, and he explained everything very well. I recommend James and this location to anyone and everyone who needs help with their car.

I too had problems with the old management, they had my car for over 2 months, I couldnt believe some of the stories I was told why my transmission wasnt done! got it back, transmission was leaking, I was concerned how long this time, ECT.. I called, asked for james, was told, he is not here anymore, can I help you? And he flat out did!! I brought my car there, they redid the transmission, fixed some electrical problems, I had noise coming out of the front end of car, they fixed that too, no charge!! Brian, the new manager is wonderful! He knows the car game big time, john the mechanic that redid the transmission is very good too! I can honestly say, I will always go to gresham aamco with my cars, and know its in good hands now! Thank you guys and, to the owners, good job you got the right guy running it now!!
Took a day or 2 longer than expected but I had informed them I was in no hurry from the get go. They performed the task well and professionally. The service I had done was actually cheaper here than when I was a ford employee and had the same service done at ford!
Save your time and money. James is a awesome salesmen! Also a awful person to deal with, doesn’t answer questions when asked, always has a way to get around any difficult question, walks away when confronted with a question he can’t handle. (I got video) James your a scam! I’ve already paid you 3500$ and all you’ve done is pull my transmission! When asked why I paid all 3500 up front in front of the owner, the Owner Patty tells me they usually have people pay HALF! Save your time. Btw this is week 4 and still no vehicle. I was told I’d have it back 2-3 weeks. Wish I had time to post more.
AAMCO has been a great experience. I’ve never had transmission issues before but when I brought my truck in to be looked at they walked me through the whole process. Within 48 hours they had diagnosed the problem. James, was very honest and forward with what came next and the options I had. 8 days later my pickup was done! Very happy with how quickly they were able to fix my truck!

Came in because Audi told me my transmission was going out and I needed a new one. Turns out all I needed was a small part and I was good! Aamco saved me $3000+++. Integrity move on their part to not just rip me off like the other guys! Would recommend highly
Horrible place. What they said was a week job took three months, the repair had a permanent leak, both my tires were flat upon leaving, and they used up all my gas, my tank was on empty, I never let my vehicle operate that empty on fuel. What is wrong with them? They’re complete scammers. I overheard their employee asking what a certain bottle did. It was literally transmission fluid.
Brian performed our annual maintenance check and repaired the leaking rear differential on our 1966 Buick Lesabre. It was done in a timely fashion and within the price quote range amount.

Great shop with excellent service!!! I brought my van into them after a previous shop had it for weeks, with no results. The service manager Tony was great to work with and kept me updated as the project went on. The team there took care of everything I needed within the timeline they promised. I have a 93 suburban with 311,000 miles on it and has been having some issues. Taken it to other shops with hit and miss repairs but still stalling while driving. Took it to the Gresham AAMCO and Johnny knew what it was and got it fixed. He also identified reason of persistent oil leaks. After these repair it drove better than ever. Just got back from additional repairs to steering gear box and exhaust manifolds. With an old vehicle they had problems finding the right parts but were persistent and went above and beyond to get the job done and clean up years of other mechanic shortcuts. They stuck to their estimate even with many issues with broken bolts and more time than it called for. Third trip to them and will continue to return for the good price and quality work. It is tough to find such a quality mechanic such as Johnny.

James is a friendly, customer-focused guy, and he keeps his team of service techs on point. I came in from out of state with a major transmission fluid leak from an unknown source. I brought the vehicle in when they opened in the morning and they had me back on the road by the end of the day. It was an unfortunate hiccup in my travels, but I now have a mechanic I know I can trust when I move up to Portland.

My sister took her vehicle to this place. Super unprofessional, took money from her over $3,000 and said they never received it. Even though she has a receipt and paid in cash. They said her vehicle would be done in a couple weeks it’s been over a month. Super sketchy, scam, DO NOT GO HERE FOR MAJOR WORK. They don’t communicate with you or each other.

NEVER take your vehicle here!James you know how many times you lied to me and Steve about his vehicle repair. We have both asked you numerous times to send the diagnostic results and you told me not to question a professional organization.Week after week you lied about the status of the truck repairs. You failed to prove what was wrong with this vehicle and kept charging more and more. I am giving my contact info and have created a written timeline for all our conversations to the customers who are about to sue you.The owner of this site should step in and make this right. You failed to let us talk to your “master mechanic” failed to let us have a conversation with your manager, and now are charging more. You have never proven what the results were of the diagnostic test you performed about one month ago.
James said I would get a 3 year warranty now theyre trying to give me a 90 day warranty. They said my car would be done in 3 to 5 business days and where 10 days out plus they want another week. Not returning phone calls. No car rental offered. professionalism in the toilet. and not getting my car back to me in a timely manner. Never have I dealt with such ghetto people.
Listen to the bad reviews. Take your vehicle elsewhere and do not waste your time and money with these people. They lie and overcharge. They cannot provide information of WHEN your vehicle will be done and won’t even tell you where your car parts are when waiting for them to finish. Terrible place.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SECOND TO NONE!! Needed my transmission serviced, but like most I work during the day. Aamco close at 5pm & not open on weekends. I explained this to Tony. He had a solution in hand. He waited till 5:40pm for me to arrive. Jiffy Lube wont service if its close to closing time let alone wait. I was able to leave my truck with Tony then pick it up the next day transmission serviced. I cant speak for all their locations, but if receive excuses on why they cant work with your schedule or not feeling like your business is valued Call Tony at the Gresham location.
I heard a ticking sound in my car, from what sounded like the engine. They took my car directly back and drove it, and let me know the cheapest option for me right off the bat. I really appreciate their promptness and honesty. They didn’t try to take advantage of me like the last shop I was at. Also, I missed my appointment here because I went to the wrong place, they were very gracious and squeezed me in anyway! Would recommend them to anyone! Very personable.
Took my car to them for a estimate and then they kept my car for 3 almost 4 weeks and didnt do anything to it and charged me 500.00 for nothing. I sent many emails to the manager without a response, ended up having to send a demand to get my vehicle back into my position and they charged me 500.00 on top of that for absolutely nothing.
Tony is super sweet, personable, and such a charming fellow 😍 super nice guy to have at the front desk and their couch in the waiting room is crazy comfortable. Clean facility, nice guys, and theyre always great when I come in to get my annual warranty check.
My first time experience was so wonderful! They took great care of me and answered all my questions. Also, got my car done in a short period of time. The manager Mike is so wonderful and friendly and he made me feel comfortable with all the ridiculous questions I had, with me not knowing anything about cars, and briefly explained to me what was what and why my car wasnt working corectly. Also, the towing guy that they go through was also wonderful. They kept in touch with me the whole time and kept me updated about the car and what was going on. I love the fact that they dont make you feel like theyre trying to get over, by that I mean Ive been through a lot of different companies and they make you feel like we dont know anything and charge the MAX! and I love the fact that they do FREE checks! I have had the transmission rebuilt, and Aamco stands by their 10 year warranty, I felt like my trans was slipping at times took it back in and the problem seems I be cleared up, also I had a the struts and brakes replaced, and the discs turned, they had to do a lot of rewiring to our vehicle which is a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI, with a lot of censors on it, which some of them if not most of them had to be replaced. Great job on the work that the mechanics has done on it, took it back in for the front axils to be replaced on it, along with two censors that have to be replaced under the car. Which wasn’t their fault. James is real nice to deal with and everyone their are professional and wise when it comes to our vehicle, thank you guys for all your hard work you are doing. Keep it up, thank you James, Mary and Mike.
Was told I needed rebuild my transmission $3100.00 plus parts! Went home did some research on my vehicle transmission. So long story short I replaced trans filter and change fluid and transmission is like new!

Went to location in Gresham Oregon.Was quoted 2350 by manager James a week later received a call stating i would need another 1700 but got me a deal down to 1400 in parts was told my torque converter was bad. And i admit i know nothing about transmissions.So here is how the money wentRebuilt quote 2350Paid deposit 1175Call from James 1400 in parts and i have to pay off the first quote balance off 1175 and half of the 1400 =700 total of 1875 to get transmission fixed leaving a balance off 722.63So instead of pay 1875 i paided 2000Now when picking up my truck i was told my bill was 722.63 and magically my parts went from 1400 to 1525.Was told the only way to get my truck was to pay the 722.63 so i paided. AND THE BEST PART NOW IS THEY REFUSE TO GIVE A ITEMIZED LIST OF PART OR LABOR. Really great experience here. Had concerns about my transmission shifting a little hard going into 3rd and 4th. They didn’t end up finding any issues but did well explaining why and helped relieve my worries. They seemed to be really familiar with my specific ford transmission. Best of all they checked it at no cost, test drive - hooking it up to a fancy computer - and looking under the hood included. Best part was Patty’s customer service, she was great and knowledgeable. Will definitely return for future issues.
Took in my 89 Cadillac Seville to have my entire exhaust system redone. Every place except AAMCO in Gresham quotes me insane prices max since he vehicle was older tried to tell me there we “so many more issues than I could imagine.” I knew these places were lying and Tony at AAMCO proved them wrong! Tony got me the best deal and now my Cadi is driving better than ever!!! I’ve worked at dealerships and have family mechanics in Idaho; I highly recommend this shop and definitely ask for Tony!!!

So after loosing my mind at several other shops run by people who are there just to cash their checks apparently, I wound up here. Tony the sales manager was great. He’s a bit of a car enthusiast which was reassuring. I told him my problem and he said he knew exactly what I was talking about. Let me expand. I took my car to a dealership and they responded to the same question “well have to look at it”. I said “have you ever heard of this before”. They said “well have to look at it”. Like they were reading a script.As a craftsman myself, I want people who have experience diagnosing and fixing car problems to work on my cars, not people who have to “look for stuff”. You know. A mechanic.The problem was fixed at a fraction of what a dealership would have charged, if they would have even found the problem. I was told I have out of round tires or a bent rim causing a vibration. My $1500 new tires. Not likely. It was a bent hub. Less than $300 and installation.Saved Me over a grand, plus the problem would have been there afterwards.What can I say. Go get scammed at the dealership or some fly by night backyard mechanic or go see Tony and the guys and get it fixed right.

Mike and crew were awesome. I dont remember a time I have left a repair facility without feeling a little screwed, until now. Mike was great on the phone, and when I dropped my car off, very nice as well. He called me and told me that there were some things that needed attention. My immediate thought was here we go, but Mike told me what was needed, what did I want to do. We got things fixed up and I left the store spending LESS than expected. Nice surprise! Thanks, guys! I expect to be raked over the coals when I go to an auto shop and to leave without even a penny to my name. I was proven quite the opposite when I took my vehicle in for some major repairs that I had expected to be 2000+. Leo did an outstanding job working with me to keep the costs low. In the end we managed to fix my vehicle for much, much less than what I had anticipated. If you are looking for an honest mechanic in the area, then look no further.

I made an appointment to get my car checked out with steven at aamco.. I was told It would take a couple of hours for the inspection. He charged Quoted me $350.00...just for the inspection. This was on a Friday . It took over the weekend for the results and they still had not gotten to my car. Steven was very rude during the whole process and over the phone. I did not get my car back until three weeks later. I felt threatened, I finally called to say I was comin to pick up my car. he told me... $300.00 or he would charge me storage from that day. He demanded cash NOTHING WAS DONE TO MY CAR. I WAS HUMILIATED BY HIS ATTITUDE TOWARDS ME THE ENTIRE TIME. PLUS THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WAS ON BEFORE I LEFT THE PROPERY.TERRIBLE ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.TOTALLY RIPPED ME OFF ! !I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH Aamco again! !

I had my car at the dealership for three days and still had not looked at it. I called Aamco in Gresham and I talked to Leo. He was very pleasant over the phone and I felt comfortable with him. He told me to bring it in and they would have it looked at in two hours, not three days. He always called when he said he would and he keep us in the loop the whole repair. I had a great experience with the folks at AAMCO. I took my 2009 Honda Fit in when it was having weird starting problems. Tony the service manager was able to diagnose and fix the problem (a bad starter solenoid ) in no time. Im a total car luddite, but Tony was patient and explained the problem in terms I could understand. In the end it only cost me $150. The place I took it before AAMCO told me it was likely an internal problem, that they would have to examine the car over several days and that a fix would likely cost hundreds upwards of $500. If I have to get my car serviced again, I will definitely go back to them!
I wouldnt wish this place on my worst enemy. I have no idea why their Google rating is so high -especially after reading poor reviews elsewhere. My transmission went out at the beginning of July. didnt get my car back for 3 weeks as they kept pushing the due date out. Claimed that it was driving just like new and that they had run a 25-50 mile test drive (numbers not supported by the odometer). Service light went off as I left the lot. They claimed the computer hadnt been reset. One day and 50 miles later, it goes back on. Soon every light goes on and the car shudders to a halt in the middle of a forested highway. Said theyd cover the tow and fix the problem. A few days later after checking in with them, they said they couldnt cover the tow and that they had no idea what was wrong -theyd have to keep the car for a week or 2. After a few more rounds of phone calls they said the battery was shorting the electrical system and needed to be replaced for $200. I was beyond done at this point. My wife goes to get the car with a AAA tech to pick up the car. AAMCO hands her their report about the battery and she has the AAA technician test it. The battery is fine and their report is bogus. They didnt even put our battery back in properly. A few days later, a reputable local shop took all of a few hours to figure out that the issue was with one of our catalytic converters.Avoid AAMCO like the plague. From the beginning their communication was poor and the lies became more evident the longer I was forced to deal with them. Do your research online and youll find several stories that sound just like this one. Dont make the same expensive mistake that I did.

While I cant speak to what the previous management had brought to the table, I can talk about my experience with the current team and Tony the service advisor (who was very thorough and kept me in the loop). My dad and I brought our 2002 Subaru Outback in for diagnostics done to the transmission. After not finding anything during the test drive (the gears had been slipping) Tony offered to have his techs tear down the transmission to look closer at the problem and offered to charge me nothing if nothing was found. As for the rest, quite a bit of work WAS required to get the car back on the road, but after having weighed out options we decided to let the team do the work. While the total wasnt pretty it was certainly money well spent and during the two weeks that the car was in the shop Tony gave me minute by minute updates on the status of the repair work, realistic ETAs and never once tried to up-sell us to something we didnt need. At the end of the day, the candid and forthright honesty of the shop and the customer service is what really encouraged us to open our wallets and repair the vehicle rather than scrap it for parts. And Im so glad we did. Again, cant say enough good things about Tony and his team at AAMCO.
Took my car here they wanted $150 a hour for diagnostic, the manager told me he needed approximately 5-6 hours to test it. Diagnostic testing does not work that way. Also, I told him what the problem was, and that it was the transmission module but he failed to listen because I firmly believe that they were just trying to run up the bill and get as much out of me as possible. I paid the $150 that I owed them on my Visa card but when I got there they said we want cash instead so they wouldn’t release my car until I paid cash and said they would reverse the charges on my credit card. When I picked up my car they had blew my front tire on the test drive and would not replace it or put my spare on. After all that picked my car up and took it right down the street at Gresham Dodge they found the problem within and hour and was working on getting it fixed. Don’t trust these guys at this location because they charge more than the rest of the Ammaco locations. So if you want to be ripped off take your car here. By the way it’s owned by a private company, that’s just using the Ammaco name. If anyone doesn’t believe me I have photos, bank statements & video & audio recording of all of this.
I recently took my 2010 Cadillac in as the Turbo quit working. I am fairly mechanically inclined but I have zero knowledge in that department. They diagnosed the problem and had me back on the road. I would defiantly recommend this shop to anyone.
Aamco did a great job repairing my vehicle’s transmission within the timeframe I needed. Tony is communicative, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend Aamco to those needing to repair a transmission.
OMG First I like to say how devastated I was yo fi d out we purchased a car that the transmission was blown...Tony was very empathetic and I felt it was sincere.
