Came to them for a clutch replacement on my 99 crv and they did just that and only that, no looking around trying to sell me another service or repair. Picked my car up after and drove home! Now my clutch has been broken in and engages smooth. Thanks!

Crew is awesome. Super attentive, personable and reasonably priced. Definitely not one spot who up sells whats unnecessary just to make a quick buck. Lounge was chill and I was even allowed to bring my dog along while I worked with their complimentary WIFI.
Spend more money on an actual mechanic, heres why.....I went to them to get my Cooling system looked at because my car keeps over heating. They said they were going to do a thorough inspection. A week later they finally get around to the car and said my fans werent running. I said how much to fix that and they gave me some price. I asked about the thermostat and the water pump. They stated that everything was great just the fans. I get off the phone and my dad comes in with the cars thermostat. He said did you ask how the thermostat was? I said yeah they said it was great..... my dad showed me and said well thats how you know its a horrible company, I NEVER put it back in. They never spent time looking at your car. They took your money and lied. The thermostat takes 2 seconds to check. Really guys? So I do not recommend Honest one as they are not honest at all. I tried to call and talk to the owner about someone else looking at it or refunding my money since they didnt look and he hasnt called at all. Ive called multiple times and still nothing. Im not one to turn into a Karen but im done being pushed around by mechanics because Im a female.

We have been bringing our vehicles here for more than 10 years. They are excellent at service, communicating, and value. Our last two visits were especially appreciated. We noticed what we thought was a leak from the engine but it turned out we must have driven over a pool of oil. No charge and we took care of it with a good car wash. This week our battery died. We picked up a battery at Costco thinking this was something we could do ourselves. Mistake. Honest 1 installed it for us at a most reasonable cost. Thank you Jerry! See you next time! Oh and we always purchase the coupon book. A great value especially if you have 2 vehicles.
Honest should be taken out of the name. They will tell u anything to get your business. I called in a couple days ago to get some prices. And was told a couple flat out lies about what I needed done and how it needed to be done. You guys make jobs out to be intense when in fact they are simple even for a non mechanic.

Paid $845.00 on my 2006 Mini S for nothing was supposed to have Harmonic balancer fixed. Car made it 11 miles home no fulids checked like power steering oil etc which were empty this caused car power steering to blow over heat and not tunning plus they were tring to get me to spend another 1000. Complete rip off So car is out of commision

I was raised by a mechanic and Im an intelligent person, so I find it maddening when men talk down to it argue with me about my car. I have none of that trouble here. Im treated respectfully, everyone is friendly, the prices are competitive, and Im never offered unnecessary services or repairs. The work done is quality and Im always clear about what was done when I leave. Ill happily continue to drive to Gresham from downtown Portland to get my car worked on here.

I had no issues with the work on my vehicle. My issue is the man behind the counter and all other employees there were not wearing masks. I really don’t care if you don’t want to comply but as he was speaking to another unmasked customer he turned to us to say that our masks were not protecting us! My husband asked him to not discuss it. He told us we could leave and get our vehicle tomorrow. Not gonna happen. He invited us into the conversation- you don’t want to comply - you deal with it! But you do not bring your compliant customers into the conversation. It’s unprofessional and caused us to decide not to return! Your public conversation is not professional and your opinion of the current guidelines is your opinion and should be kept that way.
This places is over priced, they try to charge you for other fixes you didn’t ask for, they take to long on your car. They broke my dash board and glued it back, they also broke one of my hoses on a different repair, I do not recommend this place, they should change their name to dishonest auto care...
While service was fairly friendly, i took my car in to have the battery system tested. They said it was fine but i had a MASSIVE (they said this multiple times) oil leak and wanted to charge me $165 for an oil dye test and oil change with engine flush. $165 just to find the massive leak. I decided to hold off, its been a week, ive been using my car daily for my delivery job all over town, ive checked the oil level every day, no change in the level at all. This was my first experience with honest 1 based on getting a coupon for a free battery system test in the mail.
Have been using them for oil changes and small repairs for years. Quality seems fine, generally quick service and nice amenities. However, went in today and neither the man that checking me in, nor any of the other patrons in the waiting area (a small enclosed space) were wearing masks. Regardless of political or scientific beliefs, this is against current public health orders and unprofessional. I will not be returning as a customer until they take my health and safety more seriously.
Good work done but lost one star for not wearing a mask and another for being a little brusque in person. Great question answering on the phone, beforehand, so it could have just been a bad day. Ill go back.
Had a quick fix problem. I brought my pin in to be pressed. Just one. Only had to press it 1/4 inch. Not only did a two minute job take two hours. But the man explained he had to charge me for the entire job as a whole repair job on a full car. I was charged 170.00 for a two minute press. Never again. Honest one my a***. Crooks more like it.

Definitely the most straight forward and honest people I have ever dealt with in an auto shop. Dillion told me what I needed and gave me an estimate and told me what could wait and what was needed right then. Definitely nice hearing that some stuff can wait and not that everything is going to break me down tomorrow if I dont do it like other places say. If you dont have a mechanic yet or you already do I would still recommend checking these guys out, personally I wont go anywhere else again.

I recently had them perform an oil change on my 2006 BMW 330i and had a great experience. They were professional yet easy-going and assured me that my car was going to be in good hands. I provided the oil and the filter and only paid $36, which I thought was very reasonable. They were prompt in completing the service. They also took the time to inspect the undercarriage for any possible concerns while underneath my car. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a local mechanics shop.
Was taken aback to see maskless employee at desk in the small office (near Sept 1st, 2020). He was on a personal phone call griping he just cant wear a mask and he isnt concerned about covid. Another review (Alyssa, 2 months prior) also mentions being uncomfortable too. Owner responded employee has a health condition and that mask mandate wasnt in place then. (Mask mandate statewide July 1st, earlier in Multnomah county FYI). The owner may have to submit to this employees health condition even though what I witnessed undermines his claim. They should enact reasonable accommodations that are allowed by law to minimize risk. (ie: reassigning employee away from customers, alternate face covering, etc.) Id say at the very least throw up a piece of plexiglass! As a business its bad optics to not at least attempt to protect your customers. Small improvements go a long way. Also note there is nowhere to sit outside if you dont want to share the office with this employee while you wait. Never came here before. Went to other PDX locations. Not sure if ran independently? Liked others.
Brought my vehicle in for routine transmission flush. Technician stopped the process when they found some metal specks in fluid. Referred me to a transmission shop and didnt charge for service. Honesty in a mechanic shop is a refreshing change from most of my life experience.
Their customer service is getting worse and worse to the point of horrible.It was my second time there for the same issue. The first time they put me in a wrong time slot then the one I have requested. I have to come back today for the second time.The guy behind the counter didnt have a mask on. No sanitizer, no pandemic precautions at all.It took him over 30 minutes to serve just one customer in front of me. He ignored me the entire time. When it came to my turn, he turned all his attention to another customer who just walked in until he finished with that customer. Then he wanted to charge me $10 more than what was quoted last week. He also suggested I dont have to take the service. I took his suggestion and left.I shall never use honest-1 auto care ever again.
I had a bad altinator in a 07 escape one of the harder ones to replace have to take apart the front end . They didnt bs me at all the guy at the desk told me what it was gonna cost up front and what it detailed. Its been a few days now and its still running like a champ . Thank you
I think it’s ironic that their name is honest but I just came back from the shop I need to get my battery tested which is free at most shops including AutoZone. The front desk guy had to go in the back to ask how much it cost, (apparently it’s not in the computer) came back and told me $30 to get my battery checked. Told him no and went right to my car to write this review. These guys are sleazy car mechanics don’t let the name fool you.Edit: That is a lie the owner said that I asked for a $30 service I did not I asked for the free service. I specifically said all I needed was the battery tested. These people are something else even lie on the review replies beware of this company. These guys are snakes
Had extensive work done 5 years ago. Hubby and i went back today cause there was a noise. These guys are so good. Check the fluids at no charge. At 188k miles on our 2004 4 runner needs wheel bearing work. Have an appointment next Saturday. Look forward to feeling safe again. Thank you for your honesty! The Grubers.

More like Dishonest 1. My brakes were squeaking. This was after another shop didnt tighten my breaks enough, and they came loose. After getting them tightened, I consulted Honest 1. They insisted I needed to replace my entire break line. After $900 the squeaking was still there. I went back, and you know what the tweaker looking lady said? You need to go back to the original person who worked on the brakes. They purposely told me I couldnt pick up my car until I had the $900, too. Dont go here.
I have brought my car here twice now and couldn’t be happier. I was charged a little less than quoted for my brake pad and rotor replacement, which is always great. I needed drive belts replaced, and they called me to say I needed a pulley as well, and wouldn’t be charged extra labor as they were already under the hood and had the part. Yesterday had my tires balanced and my car feels 100% better. Friendly staff, knowledgeable, inexpensive and very punctual. I appreciate their time and care for my car. Thank you!

I posted a review about them trying to charge me 29.99 to check my battery. They said that I ask for them to check other stuff instead of the battery that is not true. I told the front desk that I had a report from AAA where they did a battery check and I just need them to only recheck the battery. I did not ask them to check anything else I specifically said I only need the battery checked. The front desk said he to ask how much I would cost. Because it wasn’t in the computer. Keep in mind I’m a retire disable veteran Aircraft mechanic. Red flag when he said how much it would cost because a battery check is free at most places including Auto Zone. He goes in the back talks to some mechanic in a low tone who pops his head in the door to take a glance at me then the front desk guy says $29.99. I said battery check is normally free he just looks at me like sorry. I left to write a review. The next day they reply to my review saying I asked for a full test and I wanted other stuff. Come on guy I don’t know if your shop name is suppose to be ironic but if you are a vet do not do business here these guys are snakes. They lie about everything even to responses to customer reviews stay clear of these charlatans. I’ll be sure to leave a review on yelp and Better Business Bureau.
First, I ABSOLUTELY recommend this shop! They fixed our truck quickly and did some performance testing to verify the condition of our engine. They have a 3 year, 30K mile warranty, they gave us the AAA discount (were not members). They offered to loan us their shop pick-up so we could continue our camping trip with our trailer. They stayed open late to finish our repair in one day. Great people, Great service, 👍!
I gotta say it... Had emergency arise, called Honest 1 and spoke with Aaron! Was able to bring my vehicle in and within hour and half was back on the road. I want to say how professional this company is. I will recommend Honest 1 to all my friends! ♥
Hard my entire steering linkage, tie rods and ball joints break on my truck. These guys had my truck for three days and where able to aquire all the parts and fix everything. Awesome work fellas! I really appreciate the hard work you put in, drives like a champ!

This place is ANYTHING but Honest!I shouldve listened to the other poor reviews as they were completely accurate, i purchased the oil change special via groupon and they did not honor the coupon stating my car had special oil filter, its a 2005 Saturn, nothing special, they also stated that they cannot rotate my tires as one tire had more tread than the other and they claimed that if they did, it could ruin my transmission, this is completely false bc if it were true, no ones transmission would survive driving on a spare, i have learned my lesson, beware doing business with these people, they will talk you around in circles

The Volkswagen bus required a different oil used for the oil change. Luckily they had it but had to wait on a part. It took a bit but got done and and Im happy with the price and the service. Personable and friendly people

I do applaud your valiant effort to continually try to save face, Keith. My husbands vehicle recently had work done here. We felt like they were indeed honest and only did work that was necessary. Our vehicle was done sooner than we expected. We did have to take it back for a minor adjustment, but the whole process was quick and easy. I would definitely give them my business again.
Great Experience! Had honest 1 change my required oil change just to check them out and also told them I was using too much oil. They found oil leak and also found power steering fluid leak. I worked with Scott, who gave me a quote to fix my two problems. Scheduled a time to go back. Scott called me a couple of times while my car was in shop to keep me informed of what was going on and expected time my car was to be done. I will be going back. I thought Scott was very helpful and professional, and made me feel like I had made a good decision on having them work on my car. I have already recommended them to my friends

Bryan was a rude unprofessional clown. Super short and tries to be little you I wouldn’t take my car back just because him !The problem wasn’t the inspection. The problem was the customer service ! I didn’t even want that inspection I wanted the 100 point inspection and I told you that and you didn’t even offer to give me that . Instead you were extremely rude and tried to Shove us out the door ! I wouldn’t of even went here if I knew that’s how you treated people . The gentlemen I spoke with before coming was very nice and explained things very well.

I had a leak in an AC line and took my jeep here. I told them the system had no pressure and the ac doesnt work. They got back to me and said the AC line needs to be replaced, but also said the condenser has a hole in it and the evaporator needs to be replaced. They quoted $870 and I reluctantly agreed. I was also told if there is anything else they would call me. After the work was done they snuck in a diagnostic charge without telling me. I caught it before paying and asked why I was charged. They said they always charge for it and I reminded them that A) I told them there was no pressure in the system, it doesnt take an ASE tech to figure that out, B) that they would contact me before any other charges would be applied before performing work, and C) they were offering free AC system diagnosis on their website. We argued about this for a good 10 minutes while I was being told that paying the diagnostic would be the right thing to doIll never know the truth about the condenser but I have my doubts. I will never go back here for a few reasons. The hidden charge, comments from the garage we have your address etc while I was arguing with the tech. And I wouldnt be surprised if they flagged my account making me paranoid about coming here ever again.

WARNING! I would give -3 stars if I could. Horrifying experience. Mechanic likely cut my serpentine belt with two cuts to get a higher ticket sale. This was a newer serpentine belt mind you. Perfect with 5k Miles on it. Now I have to replace the serpentine belt that has two cuts in it. They obviously just happened and were dead center on top.

Initially had a positive and professional interaction in scheduling my appointment and communicating about the work that needed to get done on my car. When I made my appointment to get my A/C fixed, the person I spoke with on the phone said it would be done by Saturday at the latest.They called twice on Friday to update me and communicate their findings- for this I am grateful!However, they told me they would call by noon on Sat to update me. They did not, so I called at 1:20 to see if I could get an update. The person I spoke with informed me the part they needed to fix my car would be in at 2:15 and that they would call at 4:00 to let me know if the vehicle was fixed. If not, they said I could pick it up. They also offered me a car in the meantime, which is super great but the reason I need my car back is so I can drive to Canada tomorrow!They never called, are closed tomorrow and I am left without a car until they open on Monday.I am pretty bummed, as I was supposed to start a road trip tomorrow and thought they would have fulfilled their commitment to have my car back to me today. I realize my own fault here, I could have called in at 4:00 when they failed to contact me and gotten repair work done further in advance. Regardless, I was counting on them to follow through with their promises and am left dissapointed, carless and with my first summer vacation in 5 years a day shorter than planned....

Yesterday I was in for an oil change. The manager reported that it was taking a little extra time because the old gasket for the filter had stuck resulting in a double gasket and leaking (I’ve done this myself). Today I returned because of oil splatters on the exterior of the vehicle and foul smell of burning oil. They degreased the engine and took the vehicle through a car wash. All this was done in a courteous and professional manner. I recommend them.
Not sure where my review went. I had had a negative review up here for a couple years now, but I came back to edit it to this. Upon a new recommendation, I decided to give these guys and this location in particular another shot. I have walked away extremely happy. Their new shop manager, Susan Ransom, is a gem. Polite, knowledgeable, trustworthy, professional and a pleasure to work with. The gentleman whom performed the work on my car, while I cannot remember his name, also deserves recognition for a job well done. I will see you all soon for more work. Thank you.

Just would like to thank all that worked on my 03 Rav 4 this Monday, took it in around 10 am with a weird noise coming from the engine. I also mentioned that I wanted to drive it to Reno this Summer and knew it was past due for a 120K mile tune up. I bought this car a year ago and have never owned a small car always drove a truck, but I love this car it has been very dependable and ran great, so that being said I wanted it to continue being just that. Charlie was very positive and helpful and was very respectful with my questions and concerns. I am a 68 year women that has driven all over hauling horses and a camper, so I do know some info about vehicles, only because I am on my own on these trips. I got the full deal here all points checked and a written works estimate, yes it did cost but very reasonable considering what a new car cost. Not going to happen on social sec right. I believe Chis worked on the car, want a difference when I started it up Tuesday, it was ready earlier than expected and Jerry and Andy were there and made sure I knew what was done and the estimate stayed true. There was an added part that Chris recommended and Charlie called me to approved, well yes I did that call and Chris recommendation saved me money on labor down the road. Here is another going the extra mile from a business, while checking the numbers Andy actually took it upon himself to check if there were any coupons available and he saved me $50, which means a lot to me. What an experience, new to me but so glad my son in law recommended, I will always go back, and the warranty was the icing on the cake. I will always take my little Rav4 to Honest 1 Auto on Division in Gresham. Actually probably going to be some time since they fixed and updated parts that after 130K miles needed. Would give a five but they have changed management and I miss the previous managements service. Suzy was amazing and kept me coming back. Service is a little more expensive but have been happy with the quality of work. You get what you pay for in mechanics usually. I dont mind paying more as long as the quality is fantastic and guaranteed.

After feeling frustrated with Jiffy Lubes pushy sales people, I tried this place last year and now Ive been back 3 times. They are not pushy, they are friendly, and they seem to genuinely care. Jerry, in particular, was so wonderful. He gave me a great deal and treated me with respect. They live up to their honest name!

So I took my car their, and they put it on a diagnostic device and told me 2 sensors popped up and they didnt know if it was my engine, so they charged me 125.00 than said they wanted me to pay 700.00 for them to take the left part of my engine apart and drain my oil to see if I had any metal shavings or debris in it, and that was just to look at not fix than proceeded to tell me it could be my Cadillac converter or shaft and also I might need a new engine just off of that diagnostic test? So he said it would cost 4000.00 not including labor. So I told the dude at the front no just give me the keys Ill take it home and call a few different places for a second opinion, because he continued saying it could just be a sensor or fuse. So I came home in tears with a car I just dropped 14 thousand in cash paid in full including new tires rims and a 1600.00 competition system professionally designed for the car and alarm. My husband has stage 4 lymphoma hodgkins cancer and not working due to chemotherapy treatments so I am really on a super tight fixed income. So I started reading the reviews and seen people were also having same issues with this place. They didnt have a complete diagnosis or prognosis and was all over the place about how it could be this problem or a different problem....wth? Than why are u even putting it on the machine if it isnt properly giving you 100% guarantee of what the malfunction is in your vehicle? I can pay anyone to make assumptions! I came home and read my whole manual to the car. Than I googled the 2 codes he gave me and looked it up. They were recall codes from the manufacturer and dealership for bad gdi turbo engines! The recall started in 2017, and recently 1.4 million cars were made with these bad engines. They dont produce enough lubrication and the oil gets thick and metal shavings and debris collect and clog the honey combs and can cause a fire. So I call Weston kia and tell them, I bring my car in and the dealership says we will pay for a brand new 2019 engine and pay for a rental car the whole time because it can take up to 2weeks to 2 months. Than proceeded to tell me that I needs to contact the owner because after looking at what this place put in diagnostic report pretty much said what exactly was wrong with my car, and if they know that they know about the recall excspecially if they put the recall sensor codes. I asked the guy at the front desk what the sensor codes meant and he said he wasnt exactly sure and it could also be a blown fuse or sensor. This man was going to make me pay 125 for diagnostic than 700 just to empty my oil and check for metal flakes and than 4000.00 for a new engine. So sounds like to me he already knew what was up and instead of truly being honest and helping customers, he was going to lick me of money I didnt have just to look at the car. When I finally got ahold of the service department at Kia the technician said if he put the 2 codes up in the comments on the report, he absolutely knew. Heck Im a chick and I found it out. Kia also put a warning up to all dealership, and automotive shops etc. Stating their are 3 recalls and as soon as he entered my vin number it would have told him immediately. That fumed me, to the fact that this guy is straight up jacking customers money knowing the automobile is not legit and no 100% guarantee. People are struggling to keep a roof over their head and food on their kids plate, alot living pay check to pay check, and dont have spare money for this kind of thing. So I put my vin number in and got a report from the state showing all the codes and recalls. I cant stand a buisness taking advantage of their loyal customers and getting greedy with it, I use to love this place, but now they need to train some employees and hire a receptionist with good customer service skills because the guy at the front, talks to you like your a child or an idiot. Im so glad I investigated this myself because now my car has a lifetime new engine warranty and Kia is paying 5800 for new engine and all of the $ for rental car!!
Oil change was performed in time promised. Comfortable waiting room and good service.
In response to Susans response on here to my review: You thinking its not unethical for an owner to leave a consumer review for his own shop in a consumer review forum as an attempt to drum up business and boost reputation is ok proves you are part of the problem. It is highly unethical. His review does not identify him as the owner of the shop he is reviewing.Definitely a conflict of interest, and has been reported to Google as such.And Im sorry, but passing an ASE test in no way attests to the quality of work you will perform or the caliber of shop you will run. Bought a deal on Groupon, the first time was okay they gave me a long list of things wrong with my car and said for around 600 and they could do it for me. They made it sound like my car was gonna blow up if I didnt take care of these problems I declined. Not a big deal, the second time I went they did the oil change but didnt replace the sticker for the mileage for the next time. When I got back in my car and drove away I noticed that stuff in my center console was ruffled, when I got home I looked deeper and noticed that my wireless headphones were not in the cup holder where I had just placed them before I entered their shop. I looked under the seats and all around just to make sure they didnt get wedged somewhere. I called the shop and asked if anyone had seen these headphones, she said that shed have to ask her techs when they came in and would call me back later in the day. I waited for a day and then attempted to call her back the next day, when I tried calling back and no one knew what I was talking about and I was told again that someone would call me back. This time I got busy and no call for a week, I called back again I believe the same woman answered from the first time and as soon as I mentioned that I believed one of the techs stole my ear bubs she hung up on me!! I tried calling back but it just rang! Frustrated and out over 100 dollars!!! NEVER USING THEM AGAIN neither should any of you!!
Awesome,fast service. Really clean inside plus complimentary refreshments. Loved the fact that they do not try and sell you a bunch of stuff. My new place to go!!! Trust me on this and try for yourself.

My wife took my daughers 2000 Chevy Impala in for alignment with a coupon for $59.95. They inspected the vehicle ($35 charge to tell me they could not do anything) and told my wife that they could not perform the alignment as both front wheel bearing hub assemblies were bad and needed to be replaced, with a quote for $700. The next day we took it to another alignment shop and they told us that there was a little play in the bearings but not bad enough that they could not perform an alignment. This is a classic bait an switch tactic where they get coupons to lure customers in and then try to up sell you services that you do not need. Avoid this place at all costs!!!
Had been a customer for over 4 years. Last time it took 2.5 hours for an oil change. When i asked the woman behind the counter what the problem was. She rudely told me that is the way it was. When i talked to the manger he was nice about it and said they would not charge me for the oil change. Waited a little more but when i got the car it had grease spots all over the doors n handles. The air filter was not changed even though they recommended it. I was told they were going to order it and because of all the trouble I would not be charged. I was contacted 3 times to inform me that it still is not there. Then the new manger called n said the old manager was fired and noway invthe world i am getting the filter. Hellish experience and perhaps worst customer service. I never asked for free anything. They offered it then made it sound like i was the one at fault. Will never go back. Gresha location
Made an appointment online, got there about 15 minutes early to find out that the person who would be looking at my car was going to lunch and it would be one hour before he could look at it.The person behind the counter was much more interested in up-selling services to me than listening to the problem I had.In all fairness they did nothing wrong but made a very poor first impression, customer service is not their strength.
