I have been a Broker with HomeSmart for about a year now and have really enjoyed it. Great technology, agent services, and overall user friendly systems. Everyone I have reached out to for help has been extremely professional and helpful. I also appreciate the low fees per transaction especially considering the support HomeSmart provides. I highly recommend and this is someone whos worked for KW! If youre considering hanging your licensed with HS, do it!
I am the employing broker for HomeSmart Realty. The appraisal office review is baseless and untrue. The appraiser who posted the review was asked to provide identification upon the appraisal appointment and failed to properly identify herself with any form of ID. The Sellers and agent were present and were very uncomfortable with this fact and asked her to leave. There was no discrimination of any kind and is not a reflection of the agent Rachel Klein or of HomeSmart Realty. Our agent was properly advocating for her clients. Moreover, as a DORA licensee, disparaging another real estate professional is highly unethical. Lynne Wright is in fact an agent with HomeSmart and there is nothing false about this review. HomeSmart Realty takes pride in putting our clients first and protecting them and their properties throughout the transaction.
BEWARE! these guys are completely arrogant and unprofessional. I would never want to work with them after watching how they treated my partner. The lady we spoke to (Michele?) was condescending and acted like she knew everything and we knew nothing. We have bought and sold several homes and are not idiots. We will not work with these people on any transaction going forward! Maybe they thought since we are a non-traditional couple that they could treat us as less than! Felt very discriminatory and downright rude! Do yourselves a favor and use someone else at all costs!
An agent in this office discriminated against an appraiser due simply to her age, race, and gender. Even had the audacity to stated, you dont look like an appraiser as if appraisers have to fit a certain profile and it isnt about what their qualifications are. Do not use this office or Rachel Klein as your realtor. The review below this with five stars Lynne Wright is from a realtor at this company and fake. The below statement from Tara King is also false. I offered to show the real estate agent the appraisal license from the state of Colorado, to which she refused. She said she only wanted a business card. Anyone with $20 can print a business card and state they are an “appraiser.” If she wanted my appraisal license she would have asked for it before letting me enter the property, and although it isn’t customary in my profession to show my appraisal license before entering, I would’ve gladly done so at her request. Her judgment was purely based on my appearance, as she stated “You do not look like an appraiser.” It would be absurd to think the lender on the order sent an appraisal order to a fake appraiser to show up to the property and conduct a fake appraisal. It is such a shame this company is condoning such discriminatory behavior. This is not disparaging another real estate professional, this is standing up and against discrimination! In response to Gini:I was conducting the appraisal on the A La Mode mobile app, as I even showed the real estate agent. As this property is an attached dwelling, I also had my laser measuring device. She did not ask for identification at the door, or I gladly would have shown her my appraisal license. She let me into the property and so if identification were the issue, she would have asked before allowing my entry. It seems absolutely absurd to think that the lender on the order would send out a “fake appraiser” to conduct a “fake appraisal.” What benefit would the lender get from paying a random person to enter the property, when they wouldn’t be receiving an appraisal from a licensed appraiser. I offered to show her my appraisal license from the state of Colorado, to which she refused. She said she would only accept a business card. Anyone can go to the printer shop and put they are an “appraiser” on a card. An appraisal license issued by the state carries a lot more weight to prove that I am in fact an appraiser. It is not customary in my job to provide my appraisal license before entering a property, but I would have gladly done so. It would be a major coincidence if I showed up at the very time she had the appraisal appointment with my materials to conduct the appraisal and I was not the appraiser. If identification was her issue, why did she also tell the representative from the appraisal management company who called her right after she blocked the appraisal from happening that she did not believe I was an appraiser because I didn’t look like one, blatantly yell at him and hang up the phone. Also, I would never show someone my drivers license on the job with my personal address, and this is unreasonable to ask and I have never been asked to provide a drivers license to conduct an appraisal. How would that prove I’m an appraiser? I wasn’t even asked by her to show a drivers license, and I would never do, but an appraisal license and/or order from the lender should suffice to prove I was hired to be there on-site. She wanted neither of these and instead said she just did not believe I was an appraiser because “I didn’t look like an appraiser.” This statement proves discrimination based solely on my appearance and the fact that I did not fit the profile of who she thought an appraiser should be. This is very sad that you condone such discrimination at HomeSmart. My only understanding behind the “altercation” is that I was discriminated against by Rachel Klein and this type of behavior is condoned by HomeSmart. To prevent a similar situation from happening in the future, please provide Rachel Klein with ethics, sensitivity, diversity, and inclusion training.
As the Employing Broker of HomeSmart, I would like to share that our Brokerage firm along with our affiliated independent contractors are held to very high standards as professionals in the real estate industry. In response to the review left by “Appraisal Office”:As you may or may not be aware, licensed real estate brokers are bound by a fiduciary responsibility to their clients and must protect the interests of their clients at all times. When you were videotaped arriving on the property in question carrying only your cell phone and none of the other “tools” typically associated with an appraiser properly performing an appraisal (ex: property documentation, contracts, comparable properties, a measuring wheel, an appraisal order or even paper to draw out the home dimensions) the agent and her clients became concerned that you were not there for a valid purpose. You were asked for documentation such as a business card or appraisal order and a driver’s license, which you were unable to provide. It is a perfectly reasonable request to verify the identity of any person prior to allowing entry into a personal residence, especially when a five-month old child is present and this is the sole reason why you were asked to leave the premises. The accusation that the real estate broker in question discriminated against you based upon your age, sex or race are completely unfounded. The bottom line is that the real estate broker and the sellers were unable to verify your identity and they grew increasingly uncomfortable with your aggressive nature when your identity was questioned. We have addressed this issue with you verbally and in writing multiple times over the past week and consider the matter closed. It is our hope that you understand the reasons behind the altercation and will take reasonable steps to prevent a similar situation in the future.
Tenielle was AMAZING!!! Because of her loyalty and TENACITY, my wife and I have our DREAM HOUSE. She fought for 2 MONTHS for us! It wouldnt have been possible without her. Thank you Tenielle!
This company listed a townhome as being 2 bedroom/3 bath with a non-conforming 3rd bedroom in the basement. This is a 1 bedroom/1.5 bath townhome with a HOA that only allows 2 people per bedroom to live in the unit. The 2nd bedroom is a small loft that doesnt have a window or door and cant legally be called a bedroom. The 3rd bedroom is in the one-car garage. It also cant be used as a bedroom. If a bathroom was added to the garage by the current or past owner, Im guessing it wasnt done to code and wasnt permitted. This company should not be able to describe the home this way.
If this is the home office of Gini Macdonald and Margaret Booker, then I want to share how completely unprofessional and negligent these people are. Margaret Booker showed my home on 7/26. I was just outside with my dogs in the courtyard and waited for the next client to show up. When they did, they realized my keys were missing from the lockbox, and it was open and unlocked. My agent called Margaret to inform her that she took the keys, which Margaret replied she definitely locked up. The 2nd realtor states the keys were MIA, which I can attest to because I watched them wait outside and try to call my realtor about it. I had to get my locks changed at my expense and when we brought this up to Margarets manager (Gini) for reimbursement, she refused to take responsibility because I made a mistake with the times. Even though my realtor CLEARLY shared with her our showing schedule for the day where Margaret and the other realtor were the only 2 groups. Who I believe is ALSO part of HomeSmart realty - Kimberly Nanni. Obviously HomeSmart is okay with hiring incompetent and unprofessional individuals who arent careful or considerate enough about showing homes, especially during these times. Trash, absolute trash. Ill be telling everyone to steer clear of these people.
I just started working for HomeSmart and think they are a great company to use to buy or sell your home.
