I can tell you from years of personal experience Mike has always put people over profit and as a result, he is much-beloved in many, many circles in my hometown of Greensboro, N.C.When Mike became a realtor I knew he would be forthright, open and eager to help us achieve our dreams and not merely do his part to assist us in buying a house and this is why I did not hesitate to call him first. However, I was amazed by the amount of research and preparation Mike had put into what was important to us as individuals as well as a couple, who were very eager to start a family of our own. The third house Mike took us to…. we knew was the one. The first two homes Mike showed us were actually perfectly in line with what we were originally looking for in a home, but Mike said he had a hunch that the next one might be very interesting to us and he was right! As we walked up the driveway we were instantly charmed. As we toured the home we knew in our hearts we had found our forever home.Mike knew of my interest in staying fit and somehow guessed (correctly!) that the detached over-sized garage would be perfect for not only my car, but a full-sized gym. The finished basement was perfect for the office I was planning to open in my home soon and the fenced-in backyard we knew would be perfect for dogs should we adopt one (we over four months now and we still haven’t gotten used to our spacious surroundings and our beautiful yard that is conveniently located near Friendly Center where we shop. My wife and I are just out of school and we never thought we could afford to live in such a beautiful neighborhood. We cannot thank Mike enough. We are what is probably termed “difficult and demanding customers”, but Mike never lost his sense of humor and always went the extra mile to ensure we were informed, educated and able to make all the decisions on our own.The icing on the cake was when Mike, as a present to us, actually paid a well-recommended contractor to come in and get the last (not so) little odds-and-ends taken care of that I had off-handedly mentioned to Mike the day before and then…. presented the house to on closing day without ONE thing needing to be fixed. That’s not all, two weeks after closing we found a leak and were concerned that this was due to repairs not being completed fully and I called Mike to get his advice. Mike was at my house in fifteen minutes and was in our crawlspace on his hands and knees, locating and repairing the leak himself (for free) in our home’s HVAC drain line. Not only that, but two months later when a leak was found in the walls behind the dishwasher when our kitchen was being renovated, Mike’s contractor Dominick Bonino of Bonino Construction fixed it for free because the needed repairs were not budgeted in. My wife and I now hope for children to help us fill this lovely space and we both sincerely appreciate Mike Carter’s hard work in helping us prepare our home.
