The gym is really good. The layout and equipment make for a great workout. Now the not so good. I paid for the year then covid hit. When they opened back up they changed their hours and I could not attend. This caused me to lose my money. They put my membership on hold during covid and that was good but the time change got me ( fine print ).

I was greeted by eden with the pink hair and treated with the worst most terrible customer service. I was told I had a 30day guest pass activated last time I came and tonight I was forced to either pay the $15 guest fee or open a membership or leave. This was completely new information to me. I was shocked I couldn’t go inside.

Shut down all of the pool, sauna, steam room, etc. along with the kids club. Basically got rid of half the benefits of going to their gym but still collecting the same fees. They refuse to say if and when they will reopen. Golds in Burlington still has their pool open so seemingly can be up to local management. If it doesn’t change I’m leaving for the Y or planet fitness.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would . I signed up for the gym a week before covid and it got shut down . I only signed up for the gym for the kids club due to being a single mother and the convince of working out while my kids play got told they are no longer offering a kids club and will not let me out of contract unless I pay 100 bucks plus membership fee . I wasted 300 dollars to use the gym 4 times I’m not even kidding . I been treated very in fairly and feel like I got cheated out of money and was told they can just take away amenities and there is nothing I can do about it . I am soooooo beyond heated!!! Don’t go to this gym will rip you off and a heart beat and not even care

Membership cancellation was told to be done by email or online. Back and forth several times then told to fill cancellation form. After the paper work 25 days later, still keeping charge membership fees for our three members. Wed relocated to out of state already and didnt use gym one day in this month and paid. The gyms manager, I believe it is a female with brown short hair with a name that starts with M. She was the absolutely worst at helping her new customers navigate the gym, she was less than ready to help and extreme rude/sarcastic. We are completely turned off from this gym and will be canceling our membership within the week. I do not recommend this gym whatsoever, staff is rude, it’s over crowded, and filthy.

We are in the middle of a pandemic. Half of the members dont wear their masks properly. Weight benches are not distanced and thus there is overcrowding. Most people dont wipe down equipment after use. Spray bottles rather than wipes. Water fountains rather than bottle refill stations. Every trash can is overflowing. The place is a covid breeding ground. Did Golds Gym just slap a few signs on every other treadmill and call it a day?Ill use my pull up bar at home until the Kaplan Center reopens. There they removed work out equipment in order to reduce the capacity and properly space out machines. Each section is closed off multiple times a day for a full wipe down by staff. They enforce the mask policy. They enforce the wipe down of equipment policy. No chin diapers allowed. Water fountains are closed and only bottle refill stations are available or you can use the vending machine.

I have arthritis so I joined Golds to use the pool. On September 15th they closed the pool. I asked at the front desk why and was told it was for repairs. On October 5th I cancelled my membership because the pool was still closed and no one could tell me when or if the pool would reopen. Two weeks later I was charged the yearly membership fee. I went to the gym to complain about the charge and was told I needed to give a 30 day notice. If someone had been honest with me about the pool I would have cancelled on September 15th!

The gym did not notify me they would be charging membership fees upon reopening at the capacity ordered by the governor. They also tacked on a $49 annual fee as well. This is disrespectful during Covid as I have valid health issues of which Covid puts me at risk. I spoke to the general manager and he refused to remove any charges while the Governor’s order is to go to these places only if necessary. This is bad business and I am reporting this to the State, better business bureau and corporate for resolution. Everyone is struggling and every other gym I know has offered accommodation and sent appropriate notification to members

They do not adhere to Covid-19 cleaning requirements. The patrons are in charge of cleaning the equipment themselves. There is no periodic deep cleaning by an outside professional. Staff frequently dont wear masks or wear them incorrectly. Management is poor and doesnt seem to care. Maybe because theyre in bankruptcy?

They really should do a better job of keeping it clean. And while they do have a lot of equipment, most of it is old, raggedy and needs to be replaced. Love the pool area and overall its a nice gym, just dirty. The members should also do a better job of putting things back where they belong so it doesnt look so messy. But staff need to do a better job of sweeping, mopping and checking the equipment

She gave the warmest welcome early this morning, despite working on a holiday, and when I purchased a day pass, she threw in a free drink. Great customer service! And I also noticed her dusting and wiping off the front area and you can really tell she cares about her job. Great work! I will definitely visit again.

Bring your own shower curtain! The shower curtains are not big enough, I guess they were trying to save money, but they need to update them make them wider, especially since some are torn. The womens workout room doesnt have the good equipment, please integrate equipment that would be helpful for womens needs like the ski machine,leg abductor/adductor machine to work lower body trouble zones for women, Jacobs ladder for complete body workout, Ab Coaster for the belly and stair master. I hope management takes into consideration these constructive criticism for womens needs. Incorporating and getting rid of so many recumbent bikes, ellipticals, or not such good ab machines/multiple arm machines would allow this to happen.

All around good gym. Big and clean cardio area. Free weight and bathrooms are clean and nice. I would have gave 5 stars, but they decreased hours. One more thing ALWAYS lock your lockers I was there at 10pm the other night and saw a guy opening all the unlocked lockers looking around.

Became a Golds member when this location changed from being a Rush fitness location. I liked it enough that I’ve stayed a member several years later.The staff have always been friendly and helpful and the equipment is well maintained. My only complaint is how busy it can get during the weekday post work rush - but that really just means it’s popular!

I am very disappointed in how I have been misled as I have tried to cancel my membership. I have been trying since July to cancel and every month they continue to debit my account. First I was told all I had to do was complete a form. Then in August I receive a email saying that they are trying to debit my account. I called the gym in August and they said once you cancel it takes another month so I said ok and asked will this be the last payment taken out and they said yes. Then I get another email in September saying they were trying to debit my account and I called again and said that I was told that my account will not be debited again. However now I am being told oh you signed up for a years contract. That is incorrect. When I signed up I signed up for a month-to-month. I did not want a year contract. Now Im being held to something that I did not sign up for and I am very disappointed. Not only did they debit my account the monthly fee but also a late payment fee!!! Overall we enjoyed our experience however I believe they are being deceitful. I keep getting different answers. I just want them to stop taking my money and be honest.

I’ve been working out here 4-5 days a week for seven months, and I’d definitely recommend! It’s completely set up with tools to get in shape. The gym is well set up with a variety of cardio machines, assisted and free weights for lifting, and a large area for ab and body weight workouts. They open up early enough in the morning for me to get plenty time in, and the staff is always friendly (kudos to y’all, I’d be exhausted at 5 am!) I only wish there was a larger pool, but the lap pool will work. Always look forward to going to Gold’s!

It is a great place to work out with lots of equipments and machines. This place was formally the Rush24/7. It was a fantastic Gym. With the Golds GYM buyout towels have been eliminated and sanitation went dramatically down. The showers area needs cleaning and tiny and flys control!!!?

I recommend any gym, but Golds.  Golds corporate has the worst customer service Ive spoken to in many years.  I truly feel as though the gym has stolen from me...not once, but twice.  Most recently, I called to cancel and instead of honoring the agreement I made with the Rush, they billed me for 2 full calendar months of gym use after my cancelation.  On top of that, the customer service representative repeated to me twice that I would not be billed again.  That was a lie.  Prior to that, I tried to cancel the Elite portion of my membership which would save me $10 a month.  After taking the extra $10 dollars from me 3 consecutive months after the cancellation, I finally got it stopped.  It took several phone calls and visits to the gym each month to finally get the Elite portion dropped.  Did they give me the $30 back???  Absolutely not!  DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION.  In my experience, they will take your money with no chance of getting it back should a problem arise.

Great gym with great variety of equipment for beginner to professional. Staff is friendly and is over all clean. I deducted 1 Star because I feel the gym doesnt set a culture for overall cleanliness and respect for equipment and other members. Examples include weights never being re-racked or benches wiped down. Its unacceptable the amount of lazy savages that cant be bothered to clean up after themselves

Down graded The Rush. Took away hours of operation and took away 35 pound weights. Reduced space available for normal members with cross fit area. If I’m getting less of a product I would expect a reduction of price in my contract. This won’t happen. It’s a matter of time before a competitor comes into the area offering 24 hrs and a superior product. For now I am stuck with this.

Gym is ok. Had to cancel after not being able to use the gym for 6+ months due to medical reasons. Cancelling requires calling the gym and then going to a seperate website that not accesible via their main website. They still charged me for an additional month on top of that. Will not be returning once I am ready to restart my gym routine.

Horrible experience stay away, loved it at first but didn’t have time to get my monies worth with a busy work schedule so canceled my membership after my 3 month commitment was up, probably a month or more after my cancellation and not having visited in more than a month they started charging my bank account for things I was not purchasing, after a couple of visits and calls and the manager somehow never being available to help i figured out they do not verify information for purchases when you give them a name, so in theory you can get in free or buy items they sell at the front without being that person, there was a person with the same name as me and they didn’t verify the information and charged that persons protein shakes or something to my account more than once even after I called complaining and asking to be removed from the system, which is apparently “not possible”. Ultimately had to file for fraud with my bank causing me to be without a bank card for numerous days to stop them from taking my money. Would leave less than one star if possible customer service is horrible and management is mysteriously never available.

None but they took my money only had limited time to get a workout in and it was the closest place to me wanted to get some free weights in line was already there on bench so I went back to front to ask for a refund for the day pass and was told they dont give them even though I touched nothing. I couldnt believe yhe rudeness of the employees and the lack of help not even offering any they would rather sit around and talk to each other there was a few working but not many. Damn if I will ever visit another and I recommend you use another gym.

Great gym with all the equipment needed for training each and every body part! Even well stocked with foam rollers and different weighted bands. Its always super clean! The only negative comment I have is for the huge fan that runs near the middle of the floor/turf portion. It will honestly ruin a great workout because it dries your sweat up and all the heat your body had will be gone if you lift anywhere near this fan. Needs to be ran on a lower power or anything to help it. Especially when its pouring the rain outside and people have gotten wet prior to coming in the facility. Fan comment has been noted by several workout buddies in our group.

10 year member, everytime I try to relax in the hot tub or steam room in the AFTERNOON, the clean up people are pressure washing and creating a very disruptive environment in the midde of the afternoon. They should be cleaning up during the hours that genius Golds Gym decided to close, so they don’t have to disrupt members like me that pay money every month to keep this place open.

And my second week a man walks in. He walked through the entire women’s section twice in a circle and almost a third time and then left 😳 I don’t know if he was a pedifile or what!?!?!? I went to the desk to see if maybe they had a man working the floor. And they didn’t. So that was a complete strange man just roaming the women’s gym that’s connected to the women’s lockers!!!! I told my husband and to cancel our entire membership and Golds Gym put it on our credit! I made it clear when signing I was giving them my money because they had a women’s only gym side. 😑 and don’t even bother going to the one on randleman they have people working out in work jeans and mud covered construction boots 🥾😣 I am truly disgusted with their entire corporation

I just left and was told it was too early to sign up for a membership. Odd. Since when do people wake up early out of their busy day to not be able to sign up. I explained I dont need a tour. And the lady explained in her 10 octave to high in the morning voice that we still needed to speak with someone. This is my second experience with Golds gym. I went to Randelman location last week to turn around because I seen people working out in work clothes in mud and concrete and not wipe down a single machine. I guess staph infections are of no concern.

Ive been a member for about two months now and was a member of this facility when it was under the Rushs ownership. Not much has changed, decent equipment friendly staff. It has lots of extras people look for in a gym sauna, pool, group exercise classes, and even a place to have your kids play. Overall its a decent gym, better then what I was using prior indefinitely. I few minor things I wish they had, one in the locker rooms (mens) I have to dress professionally for work and with my morning sessions I bring a suit bag for my clothes but there arent any place I can hang it up and the lockers are pretty cramped so my clothes get a little wrinkly. Secondly the second power rack is a little messed up, and the dead lift platform is obnoxiously close to the rack. Other then those little thing not a bad gym, but its not a very social gym aka good luck getting a spotter.

This is a piss poor facility. I signed up on 3/1/2017 paid over $80.00 then 5 days later get charged another $80.00. So I decided that I was canceling my membership because I dont have the time nor the money to throw away. I sit down with a Manager MARK who tells me not to cancel until he can call he back 2 days later... which he never did so I go I to cancel my policy yesterday 4/4/2017 and the charged me another flipping $80.00!!! I call asking why was I charged when I was told to cancel before the 5th of the month they tell me I have to give a 30 day notice. I was told so many lies by the people at this facility. The take over by Golds Gym of the The Rush is disappointing. Sure no one likes change. In this case however, the tired and stale brand of Golds could have taken some pointer from The Rush.Does the brand always require the gyms that Golds takes over be drab gold and brown colors? Look no further then Google to see that their logo changes ever day... What is so bad about some color in a gym? It would be hard to find worse colors to paint a gym as they decided on.No wonder why there has been a revolving door of CEO and owners and lets hope that Aaron Watkins can see the light and create a brand of gym that meets the need of people today....I, for one see good growth platform for gyms using technology and lighten up the brand.... it very tired and old.Just my two cents...

Not recommended. Gym will NOT respond to email inquiries/suggestions. Preference is always given to members who pay additional monies for services like bootcamp. See below for more details. Facilities are ok.Twice this week (Monday and Wednesday) the members using the basketball court were kicked off the court so that bootcamp could use the space. On Monday there were over 20 people using the court, and less than 8 bootcamp participants. On Wednesday there were only 5 bootcamp participants.I know of multiple members who have cancelled their membership due to this - but Golds does not care one whit since the bootcamp members pay extra money that makes up for the difference for those who cancelled.Other than the staff not giving a rats ass about members complaints, the GYM has good enough equipment, a serviceable pool, and a basketball court (tho dont plan on using it during peak hours [545PM-7PM M-TH] due to bootcamp, which may or may not take place as there is no set schedule or location for this at this time.It basically works like this, if enough people show up for bootcamp, then they kick everyone off the court. If not enough people show up, then people may remain on the court. Which means you are rolling the dice each day you go to the gym to play pickup, full court basketball.

I go to the one on Wendover, Randleman Rd, and this one several times a week and the Gold’s on Brassfield is the LEAST friendliest of all 3! When you walk in they don’t greet you, I’m used to staff smiling and saying “have a great workout!” But they don’t even make eye contact with you. You scan your card in yourself and at first I thought it was to save us time when there is a long line but now I see it’s so they don’t have to interact with you at all!! Also, there is NO signal in the gym. I have to connect to their WiFi (which is spotty) every time I come and if you’re in the locker room or the “lady’s zone” then forget about WiFi because it doesn’t work at all. The only time I come to this one is when I am forced to come because I happen to be on this side of town but if I can help it I would never come to this one and just stick to Wendover!
